Low audio volume in DVD SP

I've been experiencing low audio volume with burned DVDs in DVD SP 4.
The audio volume is fine in FCP, and also in the self-contained exported QT file.
But once imported into DVD SP and burned to a DVD, the volume is almost cut in half on multiple projects. The DVD's are short (< 30 minutes) so the audio is left as an AIFF file rather than converting it to an .ac3 with Compressor.
I don't see any way to control the volume in DVD SP.
Any ideas?
Thanks,

There's no way to control volume in DVDSP.
I had the same problem, but I had an ac3 file through Compressor. And there was this feature in it called "dialog normalization" that I had to turn off (setting it at -31dB), and my levels were good.
If you can't solve your problem with AIFF, maybe try ac3, and see if it suits you.

  • Camileo X400 camera - low audio volume

    Hi
I hope someone can point me in the right direction. I recently purchased the cameo x400 and when I upload it to face book the audio volume is really low.
I am using a new lapel clip mike which I have tried on other audio devices so that is not at fault. Is there something in the settings etc that I need to change when using the mike or can I edit it to increase the volumeon the software provided.
    Many thanks
    Ian

Did you check the user manual of Camileo X400?
    I recommend doing this.
Unfortunately it looks like the microphone volume isnt changeable.
Only the menu sound can be changed. This option can be found in Setup menu.

  • Audio volume on DVD

THe volume on audio on a burnt DVD is always way lower than the "normal volume" used on each of my tv's. Is there any way to increase the volume (apart from turning it up on the TV)?
    Thanks

    Hi
Or You can upgrade to iDVD08 where You can set DVD menu volume so that it match
    the movie volume.
In iMovie You can increase the audio to 150% but there is a trick.
    • When Your movie audio is even
    • Copy out as a QuickTime audio .aiff file
    • Import this to one of the audio tracks (make this free first by moving audio to the other
    one.
    • Increase this new audio to 150%
    Enough ?
    • If not copy this new audio clip and just paste it ontop of the previous one
    Better
    • Want more = repeat past - till You think it's OK

  • Lumia 720 Low Audio Volume and % consumption on li...

Lumia 720 has low volume when nokia ear phones are used. At 15 volume without the ear phones attached the sound is great and loud but when they are connected I need to increase the volume to 25!
And also when I listen to music my battey drops 1% per song why is that?

    Hi Aseem186,
Built-in speakers and earphones has a lot of differences when it comes to loudness. It is normal that the speaker is much louder than the earphones. However, the earphones can provide you a great sound quality as it has stereotyped sound.
About your concern about the battery life when playing music, do you have open apps other than the music player? Are you connected to Wi-Fi or is your phone's Bluetooth enabled?

  • HP G72 Low audio volume

I just purchased an HP G72-227WM laptop. I had high hopes for the audio system when the description mentioned Altec. I am highly disappointed! If there is ANY noise in the room, I have to turn the volume all the way up to be able to hear it at all. Is anyone familiar with this? Is there any kind of fix for this that anyone is aware of? (besides an external powered sound system) Or is this just the nature of the beast?

I have had the same problem and many others.  The touchpad has a mind of its own as well.  I am EXTREMELY disappointed with this purchase and wish I could return it to be honest.
Has anyone found a solution to the sound issue?  or the touchpad issue for that matter?

  • Low audio volume rendering?

Hello, and sorry in advance for my English.
In After Effects CC, while I'm editing, I listen the sound correctly (RAM preview). The problem is, when I render the project, the sound is lower. I don't use any codecs... I don't know what's the problem.
    Thanks in advance.

You are using an old version of AE. The latest version of CC is 12.2.1.5 and the latest version of After Effects is 13.2.0.49
You might consider updating your current version and you might consider using the new version as well.
How are you checking the volume? Do you bring that AVI back into AE and compare it with the composition?
Does this happen on every project or just one? Try bringing just one WAV file into AE, rendering it out, bringing it back in and comparing it.

  • Low audio volume l755d-s5204 toshiba

i bought l755d-s5204 about 2 months ago and the external speakers  volume  is at 100% and they still sounds low  any suggestions? i also bought my wife a dell and the speakers on the dell are twice as loud as my toshibas.

Do you use any anti-virus or anti-malware programs? If so, are they actively scanning when this happens?
Regardless, try disabling them and then see if the problem still occurs.
If you don't have any installed, you might want to install an anti-virus program, update it, and then do a full scan to make sure you don't have a virus.
What have you installed since you purchased the computer? You could also use the search box in the Start Menu to search of "msconfig" and launch the application. In the "Startup" tab you'll see a list of programs that start when Windows starts. You could try disabling some of them to see if it helps. Make sure to make a note of whatever you disable so you can re-enable them later. Keep anything by Intel, AMD, or Toshiba for now.

  • Low Audio Volume

It seems that the the volume from the speakers is much lower than it was when I first received my x100e. I have checked every possible setting (I think) and can't find an answer. Has anyone else had this problem?

  • Audio volume low when computer wakes from sleep - os x yosemite

I've been having an issue ever since I upgraded to OS X Yosemite, where the audio volume coming out of my external speakers is extremely low after I wake my computer up from sleep.  The only resolution I have found is restarting the computer.  Once I do that, the audio volume is great.  If I were to boot up my computer after it has been completely shut down, the audio volume is also great.  The issue only occurs after sleep.  Anyone else having a similar issue?  Is there another fix besides restarting the computer?
Speakers: Bose Companion 2 Series II (these are wired, not bluetooth)
Computer: Mac Pro - late 2013 - running Yosemite

This is a BUG.  It has been submitted to engineering many times - unfortunately Apple has not done anything about it.   We have 5 Mac Pros,  all 5 do the same thing after updating to Yosemite.   The  PRAM / SMC reset is useless -  we even  installed a fresh  OS on one of the machines (a suggestion of the level 2 Apple tech)  same problem.   Clearly this is a system level bug.   Only way to get it resolved is to keep pounding the bug report site with requests.     The squeaky wheel gets the oil.   The problem is 100% repeatable on the machines that exhibit the bug.
In the mean time  set up an applescript with this command and it will reset the sound - do not include the brackets :
<do shell script "sudo killall coreaudiod" with administrator privileges>
Run it every time you wake from sleep and you won't have to deal with the problem ever again.
Pretty lame that Apple has not fixed it even though the problem appears to be pretty widespread.

  • DVD player audio volume

Others have had a similar problem with the output sound playing DVD's
on their laptops. I do too. Even though the Control Panel / Sounds
parameters are set to Max, I don't get very much sound from the laptop
speakers; it is as if they are configured that way, so as not to bother other
people around the laptop. The volume control on the laptop does not
raise or lower the volume. IT DOES LOWER AND RAISE THE VOLUME
    IF YOU HAVE EARPHONES CONNECTED....
    Any similar experience, workarounds?

No. Running on battery. Will the volume be louder plugged in? That would make sense I guess. I would test but can't use the MB at the moment. And it's not that the air conditioning causes the volume to lower. It's that the air conditioning makes it hard to hear because the speakers are so quiet. My AC isn't that loud though and that's why I bothered asking. I guess the problem sounded much more interesting than it is.

  • X-Fi Xtreme Audio - Volume goes low, static, then comes back.

Hi all, I have a problem that just developed with my sound after 3 years of owning this PC. Is this the infamous static problem with the card or something else I can fix? Thanks.
I was playing a game the other day when the sound 'cut out'. If I turn the volume on my speakers up louder I can sometimes hear what should be playing, it's very quiet and sometimes distorted. There is also a loud hiss and static when the volume is at standard levels whilst the sound is doing this. Sometimes I can't hear anything if I turn it right up even, it's just the static.
There have been the odd pop, crackle and even strange noise coming from it on occasion over the last few days.
After a while it just decides to go back to normal and will work for a while and then do the same thing again. Will happen when playing games or even just on the desktop (listening to music to test this)
I have unplugged my speakers (2 desk speakers with subwoofer) and put headphones in, they are doing exactly the same thing so it is not the speakers.
I have updated the drivers. No change.
I'm baffled. Sometimes even restarted the computer doesn't fix it, it just decides to work again.
It's almost like it's getting inteference or picking up a staticy radio, and then cuts out again, but obviously i know that's not what it's doing.
Any solutions or am I looking at buying a new sound card here?
I'm not using two gfx cards, and the mobo is ASUS p5n-e sli. I have an Nvidia Geforce 8800 GTS gfx card.
Any other info you need let me know, thanks in advance.
Oh and I believe it's in PCI. Not PCI-E.

@Re: X-Fi Xtreme Audio - Volume goes low, static, then comes backu Hi
Did anyone solve this - I have started getting exactly the same problem today. There is a fairly loud pop and then the sound that normally should be coming form the machine (game or music) is very quiet and distorted. After a short while (a few minutes), it pops again and starts working again. I built this machine a few months ago and this is the first time that I have had this issue. The specs are as follows:
    XFX ATI Radeon HD 5870
Asus P6X58D Premium Intel X58 Motherboard,
    Intel Core i7 920 D0 Stepping 2.66Ghz (Nehalem)
    Corsair XMS3 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-2800C9 (600MHz) Tri-Channel
    Hitachi Deskstar 7K2000 2TB HD
    Intel X25-M Mainstream 80GB SSHD
    X-Fi Fatalty FPS
The X-Fi card is from my old machine and it worked perfectly in that one.
    Many thanks,
    Dave

  • Low audio when going from Xpress Pro to DVD SP

When I output from Avid Xpress Pro to DVD SP I get low audio on the final DVD.
I export my Xpress Pro sequences as QT References with the audio as an AIFF file. I was able to improve the audio a bit by going into APack and converting the AIFF to an AC3 file. Even after boosting all the audio in the sequence (back in Xpress Pro) 10DB it's still not great. Any ideas?

Mix your audio as hot as you can in the Avid...if you are using the -27 Dialogue Normalization setting, you are going to get the levles cut considerably. Use -31 (IIRC) instead...

  • Audio volume low

Could domeone help me with audio recorded in QT directly from the video camera? The audio volume of the .mov file is very low although it's turned to maximum. When the same clip is uploaded from camera to Final Cut Pro the volume of audio is normal. When this clip is exported from FCP to QT the audio of the .mov is loud and clear.
