Low battery alert tone iPhone 3GS

I was wondering if anyone can confirm if there is a way for to be notified when the battery reaches a low level by way of a tone, which is common place on all other mobile phones that I know of. After looking around I cannot get a definite answer.

iPhone does have an alert...however only when talking on it...it will alert at 20%, 10% and 5%...
if you mean while on standby...no...it only gives the screen pop up not an audible tone you can hear if not next to it
Thanks for the help ShadyMac its much appreciated.
I cannot believe Apple would have overlooked/left out a low battery tone for when the iPhone is in sleep mode. You would expect that this could be implemented easily in an update. This has surely got to be included ASAP in the next update.

  • 6750 How can I get a ''Low Battery Alert'' from my...

I have recently bought  a 6750. At one point I realized that my phone died without any warning. Went through the User Guide, nothing.
Went through the phone and only found one thing under: >Settings > Tones > Other Tones, ON or OFF. I set it to ON.
Is this going to solve my problem or is there something else that I need to set?
How can a mobile not come by default with a low battery alert?
Maybe the OVI Suite should have a GUI to help setup the phone with all the proper instructions?

the only way to find out if warning tones set to on will work is to let the battery run low again
If  i have helped at all a click on the white star below would be nice thanks.
    Now using the Lumia 1520

  • Reception / Battery problems with iPhone 3GS after upgrading to iOS 4.2.1

There are major reception and battery problems with iPhone 3GS after upgrading to iOS 4.2.1.
I can not believe that Apple did not test this for major bugs like this one is.
I am a business user and can not effort to have bad reception. Apple wants to gain in the business clients... I never had this with my former BlackBerrys!
I need a reliable phone not a play thing like this is right now, it just needs it to work propely. And if a major bug like this comes along, fix it immediately. After the iPhone4 story, now this...incredible! Going back to my reliable BlackBerry! It just ain't reliable and takes forever to fix a problem.

I have the same issue after iOS 4.2.1 update. I am using iPhone 3GS officially unlocked by Apple. I tried using different SIM cards and both carriers show same problem when using phone in 3G mode. Phone falls back to EDGE mode showing 'E' from '3G' at start. I have reset the phone and rebooted several times and moved to different cell areas in the city just to verify the problem.
I had no such issues earlier. I also have Nokia E71 which shows full signal and has no such issues.
I have posted the bug on apple iphone feedback page. I hope they Apple will fix the problem and test the release properly on all models before releasing to public.

  • I just put a new battery in my Iphone 3Gs

I just put a new battery in my Iphone 3Gs and I plugged it in two charge and it says it's charging but it has not started yet. It has been like 45 minutes. Did I do anything wrong? Thanks.

Probably. Or you got a defective battery. Since Apple does not consider the iPhone to be user servicable, we cannot help with this issue here, but the forums on ifixit.com may be able to help. Otherwise, you'll need to take your iPhone to an unauthorized repair shop and have them attempt to fix the problem.
    Regards.

  • How do I turn off the low battery alert for my wireless keyboard?

The question is in the subject line. I find it kind of annoying to have to keep closing the alert window, and am still able to use the keyboard for a while past when the low battery alerts began. I tried system preferences for both alerts and for the keyboard but am not seeing how to adjust it there. Any help is appreciated! And yes I understand changing the batteries would probably help but I am comfortable using the full life of the batteries rather than changing them out right away.

Edit: Oh I found a possible, but drastic solution: disable the whole notification centre:
    http://www.tekrevue.com/tip/how-to-completely-disable-notification-center-in-mac -os-x/
I haven't tested this long enough to know if it helps yet, but it is easy to turn on again. I am so annoyed with not being able to disable these warnings that I am more than happy to disable the whole notification centre, if that is what Apple wants us to do to sort this annoyance.

  • No more "Low Battery" alert

    hi,
my macbook doesn't give me anymore the "low battery" alert...
    i can't understand why...
    anyone could help me?
    sorry for my english...

Have you ever calibrated your battery?
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1490
Is your machine shutting down before your battery indicator gets very low... or is the display showing it has run out but just not giving a warning?
Reset your System Management Controller (SMC). This can sometimes help with power-related issues. Be sure to follow the instructions for your particular model as they vary from machine to machine:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1411
I would suggest resetting the SMC first as it is quick and simple. Calibrating your battery at this point may be difficult if your machine is not shutting down properly when your battery is low.

    Thanks for the advice.
So it won't harm the battery to regularly charge it up when the battery level isn't at a low charge?
Yes. Ironically, modern batteries liked to be always charged - at least partially.

I always thought it was best to charge it fully only when it's nearly empty?
That is applicable and advisable for old batteries - early Nokia batteries - and especially NiMH and NiCd's. But not for modern batteries at the present.
Also, can it do harm to charge for say 30 minutes and not until it's full?
No. It won't pose any harm. As I've said, modern batteries like to be charged partially.
    Hope this helps
    Cheers

  • How long should the battery in an iPhone 3GS last?

I have had my 3GS for exactly 1 1/2 years and all of a sudden my iPhone is going from 100% to 90% after unplugging from my iMac at 8am and answering one short phone call in the morning it is 90% two hours later.  I had to recharge it after being on for 7 hours with about 10 - 15 min of phone use and the low battery warning came on at 10% and I connected it back to the iMac at 7%.  Must have missed the 20% warning.  Left the house without it because I had to take it off my person to do a 3pm recharge.  TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE!
Not pointing a finger but I upgraded my iMac to Lion and I had to update iPhone to 5.0 and that was when I started having problems.
    What gives

Problem with ios5. Update will hopefully be out soon

  • How to improve battery backup in iphone 3gs

I bought my iphone 3gs a month back. Its performance is very good. However, the battery back up hardly lasts for a day only or even less. My earlier Nokia E52 used to last for 2 to 3 days. I do not use 3G, wi-fi. Push mail is on of course. Please suggest as how to improve the battery back up. Thank you.

  • Could an old universal dock damage the battery of the iPhone 3GS?

I have an older Apple dock (model A1153, output 3.3V according to what is printed on the bottom). I cannot find it listed anywhere on the Apple website.
I briefly inserted my iPhone 3GS and received the message that this accessory is not made for iPhone and do I want to turn on airplane mode.
Is there any possibility that charging/syncing my iPhone in this dock would damage the battery (or the phone itself)?

Additional information (in case it matters): I found that the dock also goes by the part number of MA045G/A.
    Thanks for any help.

  • No CNN Alerts on iPhone 3GS?

    Hey gang-
Recently got a new iPhone 3GS and noticed some very different behavior from my iPod Touch concerning the CNN App. When waking my iPod, I almost always have a CNN News Alert waiting. However this feature has never worked on my iPhone 3GS. I have Notifications and Alerts turned on in the CNN App prefs. Also on the iPhone both Wifi and 3G are enabled.
Anyone have this working on a 3GS?
    Thanks!
    Dave

Before you restore, you might try a reset of the home screens and see if that gets the app back. Choose Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset Home Screen Layout.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to suppress low battery warning on iPhone

    Hi,
I need to be able to suppress low battery warnings since they can mess up the way the app works. Is there any way to do this?
Also, if there is a way to calculate how full the battery is, that would be very interesting.
    Thanks!

I'm pretty sure nobody would want you to do that.

  • E63 Low battery warning tone

It seems that I am not getting low battery warning from my phone. Please advise how to set it up. It is an E63 phone. Thanks

Within profiles, have you set warningtones off?

  • No 'Low-Battery' Warning on iPhone 4

Don't know whether to class this as a hardware, or software fault, however...
As the title says, I get no little blue rectangle warning at either 20% or 10%.
I have deliberately ran the battery down for the last 4 days in a row to (quadruple?) check on this to make sure that I wasn't a) going insane and b)make sure that I just didn't 'miss' it.
Today, I even ran the battery down to 18% (No warning pop-up), recharged to 22%, and let it drain again to 19%. (Still no pop-up)
Have also rebooted the phone multiple times to no effect.
Is anyone else having an issue like this?
Most importantly though..., Is there a fix?

My iPhone 4 alerts me when the battery is low.
Have you tried restoring the iPhone and setting up as a new iPhone or did you set the iPhone 4 up from a back up from an older iPhone?
I set mine up as a new iPhone.

  • Wireless Keyboard - Low Battery Alert - Way to turn off?

I have a wireless keyboard (macbook late 2008 model running Lion) and while I've come to terms with the speed the thing eats away at batteries, I am most annoyed by the alerts telling me how low the battery is.  I get alerts at around 15% and around 10% they pop up almost every 7-10 minutes, which is quite annoying if you're doing a bit of work. I would prefer to use my batteries until they run out or at least until they are 5% or less, yet the annoying alerts almost make me wish to throw them out now.  Clearly the easiest solution is to just always use new batteries or rechargables, but I would prefer to find a method to just get rid of the warning altogether. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    To my knowledge, no.
