Low Battery Screen when battery is fully charged

My phone has started displaying the low battery screen, and refusing to do anything, after being unplugged from the charger for a few hours. The battery is fully charged, but after only 1-2 hours, the phone starts to display that warning screen and going back off. Sometimes, if you push the home key as soon as the warning screen goes off, it will come up normally. Sometimes, it won't.
I believe this all started (along with the texting issues several other people have had) after the last update, I believe it is 2.2.1.
Is anybody else having this issue? I have drained the battery and restored, I have reset the settings at least twice, I have forced a restart... any other suggestions? Thanks!

Same problem. Just sitting beside me on the table occasionally the screen light up for no reason flashing the red low battery screen. Pressing home, power, etc a few times brings the phone up and shows the true battery charge which is wherever it would normally be - from full to partial discharge depending on how much Ive used it. Seems to not really be indicating something with the battery but ore of a random phantom ghost bug in the OS somewhere that displays that screen for no reason.

  • Why is my battery dying when it is fully charged

Can anyone tell me why my battery keeps dying on me when it's fully charged!!!!

You didn't state how old your device is. Mine is 3 years old and the battery is approaching its lifetime amount of charge cycles, about 1000 I believe. It will discharge in about 30 minutes if I continuously download data, such as an FM internet stream. Until I purchase a new 4S, I connect my iPhone 3G to a Richard Solo battery while listening to my favorite FM station during my daily walk.

Hi, had the same problem with my ipad.
First of all I would suggest to close all apps which might be opened (maybe one is working without that you know).
To close the apps press twice in a row the home button and keep a finger on the first app which appesars on the lower band until the entire row starts moving. then press the red MINUS on all oyur apps in order to close them all.
Then switch on and off your phone and see whether the battery is still draining.
if this continues try to keep you phone on a flight modus to see if this is due to internet connection.
maybe you should review some of your settings, as notifications, bluetooth, push services etc. (see specific topics on how to save battery).
If you still have not solved your problem try to restart you phone as a new one (after that you can re-download all your apps). 8do this by using itunes)
remind to save your data (e.g. pictures) prior to this operation.

  • Low battery warning when battery full

This only happened to me this one time, but I have my iphone plugged in and the battery icon says it is fully charged, but I received a "low battery" warning.
Any thoughts as to why this may have happened?
    Thanks!

What version of firmware are you on? There were battery gauge problems in 3.1.2 that 3.1.3 is supposed to fix. Meanwhile, you can try running the battery down until the phone shuts off, then plug in to the wall charger for 4 hours. Do this twice. if it still doesn't work right you may have a bad battery; take it to Apple.

Depends on usage, your cellular reception overall, and various settings during that time.

  • My ipod will only show the dead battery screen and wont taking a charge.

my ipod will only show the dead battery screen and wont taking a charge on any of my sinc cords or my outlet charger. And I have checked that nothing is in the plug port blocking the electrodes. What do I do now?

Put the device in DFU mode (google it) and restore via iTunes.

  • Will my iPad still get charged when I use my iPad with the plug in when it is fully charged?

I'm wondering if my iPad will still get charged when I use it with the plug in when it is fully charged, because some computer battery's lifespan get decreased when you use them with the plug in when it is fully charged, but is it the same thing with the iPad or does it stop charging when it is fully charged?
    Thank-you! :D

No it is not better to use it all the time when it is plugged in. Use the battery. That's what it is for anyway. See Michael Black's post above. That will wear the battery down and the performance of the battery over time.
Use it on the battery and when it needs to be charged - recharge it. If you leave it plugged in after a full charge - it will not hurt. The battery will stop charging even if it is left plugged in.
It is OK to use the device while it is plugged in - even for a matter of hours  - but not constantly or as a rule of them.

  • Should i leave charge plug when it is fully charged?

Should i leave charge plug when it is fully charged? I read that my macbook pro with retina display (Early-2012) has 1000 charge-cycle. If i do not unplug it when it is fully charged, it won't count plus for charge-cycle. However, is it beneficial?
    Thanks a lot.

You can leave it plugged in whether using it or not. It will not harm the battery:

Try a Reset - hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 15 seconds.
Have you read the User Guide?
Unless the charge indicator has bee turned off you see the percentage charged in the top right of the screen.

try a reset, hold down the home/power button together until you see the apple logo and then release then wait for the phone to boot back up.

  • MacBook Pro goes black, shows low battery even when battery is fully charged

Since updating last night via the App Store Software Update, my MacBook Pro Retina screen has been fading to black. Power is fully charged but when I press the power button, the battery-plugin to power source icon appears. I'm like, what??? My battery is charged! I plugged in my battery charger just to get the machine back to working again. It's never done this before. I'm blaming this new software update!

  • Random flashing screens when battery is low.

i bought my girlfriend an ipod nano (white 4GB) for Christmas last year. This Christmas the battery life started to degenerate to almost zero. As the battery life would go down the ipod would begin to flash random screens, such as the apple screen, the sad face, the low battery, the exclamation mark with file, the do not disconnect, and the charging screen. Then when connected to the computer the screens begin to slow down, and then it will return to normal as the ipod begins to get a charge until they completely stop when the ipod is fully charged. I think I just need to get the battery replaced but I don’t want to spend the money if there is something very major wrong with the ipod and I just need to buy a new one. Any advice would be great.

Is your cradle plugged in to AC power or a USB port? If the charge is very low on the phone, it needs to be plugged in to an AC power source to charge.

  • Battery life: Does MacBook pro's battery stop charging automatically when it's fully charged?

I know that it is not good to leave batteries on charge after it's being fully charged becasue it reduces it's life span (the chemical reaction stuffs up...)
Anyway, I heard that some people were saying that it is ok to leave the Mac plugged in even after it's being fully charged, because the battery stops consuming power from the adapter automatically. Is this true?
Another question. How ofter you do guys charge your MBP? I have to charge mine once every day pretty much. It's a reletively new computer (i bought it on april). But now it looks like it's not even lasting 5 hours sometimes. I think I asked this before as well. But I'm still stressing about this.

ALL Li-ion batteries stop charging when they are full.  They have an internal micro-controller to enforce this.
I run my MBP down to about 20% charge left and then recharge on a daily basis.  The run time depends on what you are doing.  Heavy usage will reduce the run time.  Flash web sites, playing movies, maximum screen intensity, bluetooth on are all examples of things that will reduce run time.
Think of a battery like a bucket of water.  If you let the water trickle out it will take a long time to empty the bucket. If you turn the bucket upside down it will be empty in a few seconds.
In other words a battery holds a fixed amount of energy.  The rate at which you discharge it will determine the run time.  As the battery ages the amount of energy that it can hold will go down.  The battery will age whether or not you use it.  Regular usage will give the longest overall life for the battery.

  • HT1222 i have low battery indicator when phone has been charged

i have a low battery even when phone has been charged

    Battery meter recalibration...
Fully discharg (until it shuts off) and then fully recharging (don't unplug until 100%) to recalibrate the battery meter.  You may need to do this a few times.

  • Battery is dead, but Shows fully charged w/AC

I am having a strange problem... My battery is dead and won' actually charge. When I plug it in to the AC charger, it simply shows that the battery is fully charged. As soon as I unplug the charger, the Ipod instantly zaps off. I cannot get anything when I have it plug ged to USB. Computer doesn't recognize anything and the Ipod shows a battery icon with a crossed-out circle and the words "Plas Wait. Very low battery." Then there is the Apple wait spinning thing below. But, I never get past this screen.
So this all causes me to not sync my Ipod. The Ipod is fully functioning when plugged via AC charger, but as soon as it leaves it's life support, it is DEAD.
Please help me find the solution to this problem. It will save me a big headache, trust me!

I'm having the exact same problem, any help would be very much appreciated.
