Low disk space on hp recovery partition. Help!

Hello
I have pasted some media files(.mp3, .avi)on hp recovery D partition in order to move them back to their original C partition after formatting the system. And now when I open partition D with hp recovery those media files do not longer exist. This partition now is almost full so the added are there but i dont have access to them. They have got integrated with hp recovery and there is system denial when i want to open hp recovery.
So help me, how to get an access to those media files?

To open this folder you have to write:
"cd+space+folders name"
"cd dot"
"cd 2 dots"

  • Low Disk Space on Lenovo_Recovery (Q:) Partition

Hello all. I have had a Thinkpad T410 for around a month now and I am loving it.
Recently I have been getting a warning saying:
    Low Disk Space
You are running out of disk space on Lenovo_Recovery {Q:}.
Click here to see if you can free space on this drive.
So, I click there to try and free space - there is nothing to delete to free space.
If I go to Computer, it tells me that there is 7.37 MB free of 9.76 GB on the {Q:} partition. Upon double-clicking the {Q:} partition, only two things exist.
    TAYLOR-THINK (File Folder)
MediaID.bin (BIN File - Size of 1 KB)
Fair enough. I open up the TAYLOR-THINK file folder and see two more things.
Backup Set 2010-06-21 015705 (File Folder)
MediaID.bin (BIN File - Size of 1 KB)
The Backup Set file folder contains 2.25 GB, which includes Backup Files from two different days.
    9.76 - 2.25 = 7.51 GB
Something in the {Q:} recovery partition is using 7.51 GB of space but I don't know what?
    Help please!

    Please do and check the following;
open R&R and select the option at the very bottom of the left column in the window, it should say something to the effect of "select advanced view" or something to that effect, sorry but I don't have a system a hand to look at. (Somrtimes the option is almmost half hidden - should be light blue text).
It should then open a window offering more options than on the original screen. One of those options should be to set schedules and options for backups. Check here what the maximum number of backups is set to; if it's set to 3 change that entry to 4, apply and then click ok.
After doing this please try running another backup and let us know what happens.

That normally occurs because someone has turned on system protection for the partition. I can't see your image just yet.
Check to make sure that has not happened.
The following image is how the system protection  window should look
The following image is what you should see in your recovery partition if you have file options to show protected files. Anyhting else should not be there.

  • Low disk space in recovery disk (d) drive in window 8.1

I continue to receive the subject warning. I have never added any files to D, but I have 32.3 MB free of 25.5 GB. I have Administrator privilrges but am unable to view the files on D. When I click on recovery, I get an HP warning.

    Hi @pjd10
I grasp that you are a low disk space error on recovery D.  I regret that you are having that difficulty.
Here is a link to HP PCs - Error: Low Disk Space. You are running out of disk space on Recovery (Windows 8) that should guide you to resolving this issue.

  • Low Disk space in both drives

All of sudden My Crive is showing Low disk space. Can any one help me int his issue.
And also in my E drive this is not even a  single file  But it is showing  7 GB less . What will be the problem.
    Please help me ...
    Sudheer

I'm running XP. Won't do Vista. No new fatware if I can help it. I just inherited a broken machine and gonna' put Linux on it.
    FYI,
The  Prefetch directory was a new one to me just recently. Selecting all and deleting was a definite improvement. ALSO, empty the trash. All those deleted files are still on the hard drive unless they are deleted.
Defrag is your best friend. Under accessories and system tools is this handy utlitity. I defrag once a month and just makes things run better. If you're into it, set the Virtual memory on your hard drive. Virtual memory is what Windows uses instead of hardware memory. It used to be called the swap file. I always had it set manually but then I let Windows decide how to manage this memory and it didn't work. I very soon ran out of memory. STUPID me. So I set the virtual memory to minimum 1024 and maximum 1024. It's fixed and my T23 is running really smooth.
And if you are running into these kind of issues but know you have hard drive space left, do all of the above. You and your machine will be very pleased.

  • Low Disk Space Recovery Drive D

My computer is an hp G60 121WM, which is Vista Home Premium running windows Vista 32 bit OS.  I messed up while in 'backup and restore' and sent the backup to the partitioned drive (D) used for system recovery.  Is there any way to access this drive or remove the mess I sent there?  It won't let me in by the simple route of trying to open it from the 'computer' dialog.  I can't use backup and restore now, and every time I boot up the computer I get the message that I have low disk space in drive D.  It's not a real problem (so far), but is very irritating.  And if I ever do need to do a restore (back to a previous automated backup) I'll be unable to do that.  I'll appreciate any help from more seasoned users.  Thanks
ps.  I don't quite understand why hp recovery drive being full impacts windows backup and restore, so the problem with that may be coincidental.  You tell me.  As you can see, I'm not well versed in computer use!

A useful utility for viewing all the files on your PC is called Free Commander, on the link below, as it displays folders that the Operating System normally hides and has a good search function.
    http://www.snapfiles.com/php/download.php?id=107872&a=7122339&tag=601108&loc=10
This is a zipped file.  If you don't have an extraction utility installed, download and install 7-Zip which can be used to open this so that you can run the installer.
When installed, launch Free Commander, click the D partition in the toolbar and look for any files that obviously don't belong here, cut them out and paste to a location of your choice on the C Partition.
After doing this, make sure that Windows Backup and Restore is directed to a new location.

  • Need help with Low disk space issue and blue screen

Hi Everyone, just seen a message stating a low disk space on my Mac pro bought last November and tried plugging in an external hard drive to remove some pictures to free up some space but it seems that the computer did not have enough space left to start up and run the hard drive. I then tried to restart and ended up with a blue screen and have no knowledge now how to fix this problem. I phoned support but they say I have no technical support left but do have warranty and I would need to either try with the community here or take the unit to an apple store for an appointment. The store is an 1 and 1/2 from me and I really want o see if there is another fix that could allow me to start again then remove some files and then add external drive to remove more. I was blown away at the low amount of storage.....looked for the icloud option last night to upload there as i was told about this by a UK client of mine and now see it is not up and running. Any advice or help by the communtiy would be greatly appreciated as this is my business and travelling laptop. Cheers, Dean <")))><

    Great to hear Dean, thanks!
Further notes: OSX needs about 15% or 10GB Free space minimum, but will run mucch faster/safer with 30-40% or 50GB of Free Space... Free Space is no longer ours to use.
Another tool to help clear up assorted things is Applejack...
    http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/15667/applejack
After installing, reboot holding down CMD+s, (+s), then when the DOS like prompt shows, type in...
    applejack AUTO
Then let it do all 6 of it's things.
At least it'll eliminate some questions if it doesn't fix it.
The 6 things it does are...
    Correct any Disk problems.
    Repair Permissions.
    Clear out Cache Files.
    Repair/check several plist files.
Dump the VM files for a fresh start.
    Trash old Log files.
First reboot will be slower, sometimes 2 or 3 restarts will be required for full benefit... my guess is files relying upon other files relying upon other files! :-)
Disconnect the USB cable from any Uninterruptible Power Supply so the system doesn't shut down in the middle of the process.

  • LMS 3.2 server - low disk space error.. Upm.db increasing rapidly......please help

we r facing problem of low disk space error......upm.db file incresing 1 to 2 gb per week.
if this continues our disk will get full & system may get crashed...... pls help

Probably most space is being consumed by CSCOpx\log.  To quickly cleanup some logs, you can manuall run the command:
    logrot_trunc c:\Progra~1\CSCOpx\log\syslog.log
Assuming this is the correct path on your server.  You can also schedule log rotation to occur on a regular basis to avoid the logs growing past a certain point.  This can be scheduled under Common Services > Server > Admin > Log Rotation.
Might also be a good idea to check if you have debugging turned on under the various modules in LMS to decrease the speed of the log growth by setting the logging to a lower level.

  • Finder fails to open when starting up macbook pro due to low disk space (possibly)

    Dear forum,
I have a Macbook Pro (13") running snow leopard and have a partitioned hard drive (half OS X and half Windows 7). This morning I was using the Mac side and was running low on disk space (very low) so I was moving desktop files into folders to free up some space. I restarted the computer to see what the free space was but the computer stopped/froze at the desktop image (no folders or dock appeared. I restarted the computer many times but the finder never opens and all I see is the desktop wallpaper. I donnected usb drives and put in dvds but the finder never appears so I cn do nothing but shut down and start up.
I ran Disk Utility but it found no problems with the disk. I do not have a backup of the important file forlders on my drive and due to low disk space I am worried to reinstall and archive the OS since there may not be enough disk space to archive (only about 220 mb free on the apple side when I am in windows using bootcamp).
Does anyone know what happeded to my machine? Is there such low disk space that finder had an issue? I have started on such low memory before.
What does Archive actually do when reinstalling OS X? Does it make a copy of the HD files and folders or does it simply reinstall the operating system piece by piece while protecting the files and folders that I wish to save?
Thanks for all your help and sorry for the length of the writing (I wanted you to understand all before replying).

    Solved
By chance I got itunes to pop up (running hands over keys blindly) and with it the apple menu icon so I had access to my recently used items and so I could delete images from iphoto and thus bring the free disk space up above zero and then the dock/folders and finder came back....I have just backed up my important files......feeling better now
Any advice on how to more quickly handle this type of issue next time?
    Thanks.

  • I keep getting a (false) notification from HP Support Assistant: low disk space on C drive?

Hi, this morning upon starting up my computer the magnifying glass was hovering over the HP Support Assistant icon and usually that means it is checking for updates etc... but I noticed it turned into a yellow exclamation mark so I clicked on it and opened up HP Support Assistant. The exclamation mark was now in the "updates and tune-ups" and said there were "recommended messages available." Upon clicking this the exclamation is now on the HP messages tab and upon clicking that I am taken to a notification that says: "Low Disk Space on Primary Drive C:" So I click on it to find out more information and it says that I am running out of free disk space on my C drive and that I need to perform a disk cleanup etc...
I went to My Computer to see just how in jeopardy I was in of running out of space on my C drive. To my amazement it stated that I still had 1.27 TB of 1.35 TB available and have only used 6% of my space...
I tried emptying my recycle bin, clearing my cache, doing an actual disk cleanup, and restarting to no avail, the magnifying glass comes back after restart and the notification returns telling me that I am low on disk space in the C drive...
I have come to the conclusion that this must be a false notification but I have no idea how to get rid of it...it isn't a huge issue as it doesn't impair my usage on the computer, however, it is kind of annoying to keep seeing this notification...
Is there any way to get rid of this notification?

  • Low disk space (Boot Camp) - can I repartition my hard drive?

    Hi there -
I am a MacBook user through and through.  However, I partitioned my hard drive 3 years ago using Boot Camp to do some light Windows-only work.  I only partitioned 8 GB to Windows, which wasn't a problem til now.  I'm now trying to use some Windows-only software again, but am faced with a "low disk space" message.  I cleaned up as much as I could with 8 GB, but it's still not enough.  Can I re-partition the hard drive to more like 20 GB without losing any of the data and/or installed software (I don't have access to the install disks...)?  I tried to install WinClone but I have OSX 10.5.8, and it said it only runs on 10.6 or 10.7.  Can anyone offer advice on an option to re-partition with Boot Camp, without losing the installed software and files/data?
I have a MacBook running OS 10.5.8 with 2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo and 2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM (I know, it's old!!!)
