Low level bug: Notification Center Banner

I found a low level bug in iOS 6 recently. Here are screenshots:
You can do with following steps:
1. Keep your iPhone at Lock Screen
2. Slide up camera button and in camera mode
3. Tap the left down corner "Photo Library" while tapping HOME button, bug appeared.

Seems to be a problem among many users.

• Notification center(banner) issue

got a big issue about banner.
I set up some notifications for APPs, and it works well by telling me the coming information.
HOWEVER, some of them keep showing in banner even I already have checked them. (eg., eBay, CNN international etc..)
Then I try to clikc the "x" on the banner to remove the notification which I  checked.  The issue is, the apps, which I remove from banner, will never send me new notification  as they supposed to do. even they still on the notifications list (which mean I can see them in setting->notifications->in notification center )
does anyone else got this issue?  what should I do ?  Thanks

• Notification Center in Settings not working.

So I just downloading a few different apps in the last few days and one of them is suppose to have notifications and i set it up to do so. But today i realized for the last day or so I haven't received any notifications from any apps. Not Twitter, Facebook or Words with Friends like i normally would. The lock screen has nothing and the notification center banner is empty. I went into the settings and checked the notifications there and well its has nothing but the loading screen/ circle. Has anyone else had or have thins problem?

This worked, specifically post #5:
It does work. Just leave your phone locked and send it a SMS from some one elses phone. Then after it alerts you wait 5 Minutes. It will sound the alert again. Just make sure you do not unlock the phone in between. Once you realise it works you will wish it didnt
The reply is 5 years old and refers to an iPhone 3G, which may explain the reference to a 5 minute alert interval, rather than the current 2 (unless that value is variable.  Hey, I'm new here.  )

• Is it a bug that I'm seeing entries in the Notification Center for calendars that I've unchecked?

I have unchecked one of the calendars in the Calendar app ... but when I pull down the notification center (either on iPad or iPhone), I still see entries for the unchecked calendar there.  I would think that notifications only happen for calendars that I'm interested in.   Is this a bug?
Robert

Frustrating that now as we are at iOS 5.1.1 there is still no fix for the issue.  I called Apple a little while back and the representitive made a mention as to that this was a 'feature' of the notification center and not a bug.  I think 'features' are supposed to make for better usability, not an inability to use a function.  With that said.. any workarounds?  Right now, I'm doing the following:  My brother and my wife both share their calendars with me, iCloud to iCloud.  I started two iCloud accounts, one for the intended purpose of iCloud (syncing all of my calendar events, contacts, etc.)  and one simply for their calendars to be shared to.  I've included that iCloud account only on my iPad and turned off calendars in the notification center on the iPad.  So if I want to see their calendars I can now use my iPad for that purpose.
Please also send a bug report to Apple if this issue is bothering you --- discussion forums are just that, for discussion.
Thanks for any advice you can provide about the above and for any other work-arounds!

• Notification center tweet function 140 character bug

Hi,
I have noticed a minor issue with the Notification Center 'tweet' function. It doesn't seem possible to send a 140-character message.
If you use all 140 characters, and try to send the message, it reports a Twitter connection failure. I have only tried this with tweets that contain a URL (which is often shortened - I'm not sure whether Apple or Twitter does this) so it could be a URL shortening issue.
The character count (bottom right of input window) is correct. It's possible to send 139 or less characters, and of course 141 or more characters won't be sent.
Anyone else noticed this? It's not really a big deal, but interesting to note.

Yes, it's a real bug. I see everyone having issue all over the web. Try sending feedback to Apple about that, here: https://www.apple.com/feedback/

• Notification center trackpad gesture bug

After update to Yosemite, when I swipe trackpad left from the right edge to see the notification center, there is lag on it.
Furthermore, when I swipe right to close this, it is not closed properly, but part of it still appears on the screen like the below picture.
10.10.1 does not solve this bug. Is there any other way to solve this?
I am using rMBP 15 inch last 13.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Please take this step regardless of the results of Step 1.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2.

I have apps in my notification center on for notifications (like News apps), with banner and sounds, but i never get the notification from those apps. I tried reinstalling the app and restarting the phone but all in vain

The apps I currently have are for the i phone and i pad but i would like to see this on this computer
On the Mac Air launch iTunes. Then connect either the iPad or iPhone.
Select the iPad or iPhone under Devices left side of the iTunes window in the source list.
Then select Apps from the menu on the right.
If you don't see the apps listed there, from your iTunes menu bar (top of your screen), click Store > Authorize This Computer.
See if that makes a difference...

iOS 7 Basically it looks like Apple has introduced globally a bug in their notification center software with no known solution, every app using notification center throws a pop up on startup.  All I find on this forum are overkill solutions like reinstalling/rolling back the os, which no real user should to be forced to do for a minor bug of this nature.

It throws a popup only the first time you launch the app, to confirm whether you wish to have notifications enabled for that specific app.

• Facebook and Mail both send banner alerts in notification center for every action on facebook

So I added Facebook to my accounts in Settings.  Then I logged in to Facebook and modified my notification settings so that I would get the notifications I wanted.  Awesome. Works great.  Problem is, these notification settings in Facebook are tied directly to your email on file with facebook -- there's no way (at least that I saw) that allows you to disable getting email from FB, but allow OS X to pull in those same notification settings.
So now in Notification Center, everytime someone interacts with my Facebook, I get an alert from Facebook and an alert from Mac Mail that Facebook was alerting me.  Super redundant.
Anyone find a way around the duplications?

I'm also having this problem.
Notifications receives alerts from Reminders app, but not Mail.
I've set preferences in Mail for 'Inbox Only' and 'All Mailboxes', sent test mail from ISP webmail and Google (Mail is not setup to receive from this account) - still no notifications.
I had previously used Growl (v1.4) and GrowlMail very successfully (with 10.7), but while upgrading to Mountain Lion I was informed that GrowlMail was incompatible so I deleted it.
While testing this problem of not receiving Mail Notifications I have disabled Growl and rebooted.
Like others here:
Checked: Notifications setup
Checked: Mail setup
Rebuilt permissions
Rebooted
Any help would be very gratefully received.
Many thanks.

• Bug fix for can not open notification center, missing OneDrive functionality and missing standard pins from quick access

(this post was previously titled:  Quick Access: Anoying extra navigation to browse to desktop etc. - User space should be under Quick Access - please relocate or add such an option to move Desktop, Documents etc. to be listed under Quick Accesss)
Quick Access: Anoying extra navigation to browse to desktop etc. - User space should be under Quick Access - please relocate or add such an option to move Desktop, Documents etc. to be listed under Quick Access
So depending on the out-of-the-factory solution - whether giving priority to back compatibility (desktop list under PC) - the only place in Windows 10 to find it (please add by default at Quick Access) ... this think about removing then the redundant link
which be under This PC then.
There are already options now - in Explorer > View Folder Options > General to control the provisioning of the concepts in the User navigational space for Quick Access, Libraries:
1) So may be put an option so at least you can set Explorer to show the user space folders Desktop, Documents, Links, Videos, Pictures, Downloads under the Quick Access concept (where it now naturally belongs) rather than under the technical concept "This
PC) - where you would normally expand to browse drives.
2) Another option: If you do not care to expand drives - also add a provisioning option for hiding the This PC object (if all User Space concept are now available at Quick Access).

Quick Access: Anoying extra navigation to browse to desktop etc. - User space should be under Quick Access - please relocate or add such an option to move Desktop, Documents etc. to be listed under Quick Access.
Had to redo my roaming profile - i.e. delete it and start all over. It was a legacy profile from i.e. Windows 8.
OneDrive was not working - notification center not working - and apparently the documents, pictures etc. folder was not pinned under Quick Access.
After deleting and recreating the profile everything was inplace - including the user space folders (documents, pictures etc) listed under Quick Acess which I complained about in the previous post.

• Is it a bug or just a typo in Agilent 532XX Series\Public\Data\Low Level\Fetch Measurement (Single).vi?

Hi, All
I am using Agilent 532XX Series driver to read data from a frequency counter. In the low level subVi : \Public\Data\Low Level\Fetch Measurement (Single).vi, "Scan From String"  is used to convert the data.
however, if I check the error of this function, it always show me a error with current format string "%.;%g;". after I changed it to "%;%g", I don't get the error anymore.
If anyone use this funtion, please check the error out of that fuction and see what you get.
Regards
CQ

I don't have the instrument, so I can't reproduce it completely, but I've done some research and if there is an error I don't think it's in the string conversion itself. I say this because:
From what I can gather, a typical output string would be the following: +4.27150000E-03
I took just a "scan from string" node and gave it that string as a string input and %.;%g; as the format specifier string. This yielded a numeric value of 0.0042715
So, as far as actually finding the root of the problem, there could be a few things going on. My first thought is some form corruption causing the data received to not be valid for conversion. There are two ways of testing this:
Open up a test panel in MAX and perform a loopback test, as described here: http://www.ni.com/white-paper/3450/en/#toc4
-or-
Install and open NI IO Trace and view the bus traffic as detailed here: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/282C5D41E2BA04F2862574BA007803B9
If the loopback tests works properly, go ahead and run the IO trace and post the results here.

• Notification Center bug.

In the Italian version of iOS 6, in the notification center, the tweet and post icon are in the wrong position.

Since iOS6 is not released, you should be discussing this in the Apple developer forums... https://developer.apple.com/devforums/

• Another minor bug - calculator widget in notification center

Love the notification center and the addition of new widgets. I'm trying to phase out dash board in that way.
The only problem is the calculator widget appears, but none of the buttons works -- it's completely unusable. I've tried removing and reinstalling it, same result. Any ideas? Thanks.

No it wasn't, but I have to add that I just forced quit notification center from the activity monitor and the calculator started working again once notification center relaunched. In other words, problem solved for now. I'm a little worried this will be one like the other small problems I've had that goes in and out, but for now I'm ok. Thanks!

• Calendar banner in notification center

While I appreciate the new 'today' calendar feature I much preferred the old way which the calendar events were displayed in a list in the general notification center.  Any idea how to get this back or if it's even possible?
Thanks.

Restarting my phone fixed it! Now everything appears.

• Notification Center bugs

Hey guys,
My notification center isn't really working anymore it seems like today's summary and tomorrows summary isn't showing up although I turned it on in the settings!
Plus it doesn't show me the weather as well. I already restored my phone but I still have the problem!
I made some screenshots maybe somebody knows how to fix this issue!
http://s12.postimg.org/l9y5dcoax/image.jpg[/img]
http://s12.postimg.org/ir7uyxd6x/image.jpg

First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
If that doesn't work reset all settings as Micdej describes.
