Low mouse battery alert change and adjust

Is there something, probably a system prefs add on, that alerts a user on a Mac (Snow Leopard in my case, but also Lion) when an Apple bluetooth device (keyboard, mice) battery reaches a certain charge level?
I'd like to be alerted when my mice and keyboard Lithium/Lithium Ion/Li-ion/NiMh (wait, are those the same?) cells reach 50%. A little pop up window would do. Kind of like what the system does now but warning at 60% and final warning at 50%.
or is there a way to change that system alert so it does so at a 50% charge?
It looks like the system alert is not set for NiMh and would alert before actual 50% level though… bummer.
It would probably be a system pref add on to alert you accuratly of a low NiMh battery level in an apple bluetooth device.

Reminds me of a thread from this forum, a long time ago.
There was this long suffering MBP owner totally flummoxed that at odd intervals when he tried to work at his home office, the cursor would go loco and be totally uncontrollable. Much sleuthing later, turned out he had totally forgotten owning and having paired a SmartMouse. But his little son had not. So when Daddy pretended to work, the rugrat got great amusement for free.

So my iPhone 4S started draining battery after recent update, battery got changed and it worked perfect for 3 days, all of a sudden the phone  shut down and now won't stay on unless connected to mains... Claims its at 100% battery but thats impossible as it was at 30% before it shut down randomly.
Cannot receive any signal "searching" constantly.
Turns off as soon as removed from usb ... wont stay on connected to laptop!
    HELP!

The iPhone includes a one year warranty. If an Apple store is not nearby, you can call AppleCare and handle an exchange under warranty over the phone. The exchange will be shipped to your door - someone must sign for the delivery so if no one will be at home, have it delivered where you work. You use the same box to return the existing iPhone back to Apple. Return shipping label and tape to reveal the box incuded - call the carrier with number incuded when the box is ready to be picked up. AppleCare will request a credit card in the event the existing iPhone is not returned within 10 days after the exchange under warranty is received.
Hardware can fail - it happens, which is why there is a one year warranty.

  • Accept/Reject changes and Adjustment Brush Buttons have disappeared

The buttons that appear at the bottom of the Development Panel when using the Adjustment Brush, Crop Tool, GND Filter, etc., have STOPPED appearing on my version.  I can accept the changes by clicking on the Brush, ND filter, etc, but have no way to reject the changes other than going back in the history.  Also, the button that shows the Adjustment Brush as a "painted" area has disappeared with the rest, and so I can never specifically see the area I'm attempting to work on.  I thought perhaps I did something that hid or disabled these buttons, but I cannot find any such action.  Any ideas on this?  Thanks for any help.

While you're in the Adjustment Brush, hit the T key.

  • Mighty Mouse Problems - right click and battery changing

So I am on my second Mighty Mouse after the first one completely stopped working one day. Took it in to Apple and they gave me a new one.
This new one generally works ok (although right click fails every few days) but when I change the batteries and turn it back on the computer doesn't find it. I have to plug in my old Logitch and discover the Mighty Mouse and pair it again using the Logitech to control the cursor.
Then this morning the Mighty Mouse left click button stopped working so I turned it off and on again and once again, the computer didnt recognise the mouse and I had to go through the whole discovering and pairing process again using my other mouse.
Any ideas - I have checked the Bluetooth preferences and cant seen anything that I should be checking - it says my mouse is paired, connected and discoverable.
Any ideas or are Mighty Mouses just an ordinary piece of hardware - my experience so far has been ordinary!
    By the way - I have a new (December 07) 24inch iMac and 10.5.2

    Hey,
I just talked to German Apple telephone support. They fixed the problem for me! With fresh  installs of 10.7.5 the problem is that two files are missing that are needed for the mouse. In my case I could get them from another computer I own that ran Lion and did have the files. To get to the files you need do this:
    Go to
    /System/Library/LoginPlugins/BezelServices.loginPlugin
control-click that file and choose "show contents"
now in the finder window navigate to
    Contents/PlugIns/
In this folder should be two files named
    AppleBluetoothHIDMouse.plist
    and
    AppleHIDMouse.plist
If you don't find these files, you need to get them and put them in.

  • How do I turn off the low battery alert for my wireless keyboard?

The question is in the subject line. I find it kind of annoying to have to keep closing the alert window, and am still able to use the keyboard for a while past when the low battery alerts began. I tried system preferences for both alerts and for the keyboard but am not seeing how to adjust it there. Any help is appreciated! And yes I understand changing the batteries would probably help but I am comfortable using the full life of the batteries rather than changing them out right away.

Edit: Oh I found a possible, but drastic solution: disable the whole notification centre:
    http://www.tekrevue.com/tip/how-to-completely-disable-notification-center-in-mac -os-x/
I haven't tested this long enough to know if it helps yet, but it is easy to turn on again. I am so annoyed with not being able to disable these warnings that I am more than happy to disable the whole notification centre, if that is what Apple wants us to do to sort this annoyance.

  • My Hp Pavilion x2 10-020nr is showing a "Battery Alert" and will not start.

I've recently purchased the Hp Pavilion x2 10-020nr about a week ago, and have used it moderately everyday since.
I have not over-charged it or downloaded any malicious apps/software (as far as I know) but today I tried to turn it on after charging and all I got was a black screen that says
    "HP Battery Alert.

Do I really need to replace the battery already?  How do I fix this?? Did I do something???
I went through Amazon getting this tablet, should I contact them for a return?  or is this issue resolvable?

  • Wireless Keyboard - Low Battery Alert - Way to turn off?

I have a wireless keyboard (macbook late 2008 model running Lion) and while I've come to terms with the speed the thing eats away at batteries, I am most annoyed by the alerts telling me how low the battery is.  I get alerts at around 15% and around 10% they pop up almost every 7-10 minutes, which is quite annoying if you're doing a bit of work. I would prefer to use my batteries until they run out or at least until they are 5% or less, yet the annoying alerts almost make me wish to throw them out now.  Clearly the easiest solution is to just always use new batteries or rechargables, but I would prefer to find a method to just get rid of the warning altogether. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    To my knowledge, no.

  • 6750 How can I get a ''Low Battery Alert'' from my...

I have recently bought  a 6750. At one point I realized that my phone died without any warning. Went through the User Guide, nothing.
Went through the phone and only found one thing under: >Settings > Tones > Other Tones, ON or OFF. I set it to ON.
Is this going to solve my problem or is there something else that I need to set?
How can a mobile not come by default with a low battery alert?
Maybe the OVI Suite should have a GUI to help setup the phone with all the proper instructions?

the only way to find out if warning tones set to on will work is to let the battery run low again
If  i have helped at all a click on the white star below would be nice thanks.

  • Disable low on battery warning for Mighty Mouse?

How do I do this? This is VERY annoying. I've got more than 20% of battery life left, but OSX keeps telling me I need to change batteries! Also, the menu icon keeps placing itself into the menu! I keep on disabling the bluetooth menu item, but it always comes back!! help!

Depending on where the real issue is, in the system, other options may include
performing an "Archive & Install" then upgrade the system using the latest bits.
Since that gives you an option to move user and account settings over to an
all new System Folder, you would only have to find and reinstall anything not
otherwise up to date. Things to include the latest Flash & Shockwave, or any
parts not automatically put into place through the update to the last OS X step.
There are some details in this Archive and Install, plus update, which may be
tedious; while most should be straightforward. No telling if this would fix the
problem, but it should be able to resolve it.
When did this problem begin? Have you replaced the battery in the mouse
more than once since you bought it? (Is the mouse under warranty? To
hope the problem was only in the mouse itself may be optimistic.)
The non-hack answers may be best; since some hacks may later be a
source of a new problem when later system updates are applied. But
not always. Another thing to try, if the mouse battery issue is recently
developing and no direct cause is known, you could get the last OS X
Combo update and see if reapplying it over the current installation may
help; be sure to start up in SafeBoot, then run Disk Utility's 'repair disk
permissions' then quit Disk Utility, and restart normally to get out of the
    SafeBoot mode.
Sometimes just going into a computer in Terminal or Single-user and
revalidate the correct and original settings and then exiting, rebooting
into the OS X GUI, may help correct an issue; while changing nothing
except the symptom. Hard to say if that's an answer in this case.
Hopefully someone with more tweaking experience or an issue similar
to your computer's symptoms will reply here and offer another insight.
Sometimes general system and preventative maintenance may help
resolve some odd issues in the system; to include utilities that can
run scripts for you to perform routines often overlooked. ie: OnyX.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • No more "Low Battery" alert

    hi,
my macbook doesn't give me anymore the "low battery" alert...
    i can't understand why...
    anyone could help me?
    sorry for my english...

Have you ever calibrated your battery?
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1490
Is your machine shutting down before your battery indicator gets very low... or is the display showing it has run out but just not giving a warning?
Reset your System Management Controller (SMC). This can sometimes help with power-related issues. Be sure to follow the instructions for your particular model as they vary from machine to machine:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1411
I would suggest resetting the SMC first as it is quick and simple. Calibrating your battery at this point may be difficult if your machine is not shutting down properly when your battery is low.

  • Why is there a limit on the number of times a "DVD player region" can be changed, and can it be adjusted for more region changes, or an indefinite number of region changes?

Why is there a limit on the number of times a "DVD player region" can be changed, and can this numbert be adjusted for more region changes, or an indefinite number of region changes?

Region encoding is the mechanism that enables motion picture studios to control the worldwide release of their movies. It is required by the DVD Forum (http://www.dvdforum.org/forum.shtml) in all commercial hardware DVD players. Every DVD-Video disc contains one byte of data representing a region code, which limits where the disc can be played.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2397
Once you have set the region in DVD Player five times it cannot be changed.
Instead, use VLC to view videos from different regions:

I am having issues with adjusting the duration of time for each still frame and transition in imovie 11.  Each time that I adjust these times, the application does not accept the change, and instead automatically enters its own time. Is there a work around this? Or am I doing something wrong? Please Help!
    Thank you,

Have you tried turning off automatic transitions ? Choose file - project properties and follow the dialogue box to change duration with a slider.  iMovie also doesn't allow a transition to be more than 50% duration of the clip its attached to. In other words if the clip is 4 seconds the transition cannot be more than 2 seconds and remember that relates to the first clip as the following clip (right side) is pulled back to overlay it.
Does this help.  Perhaps you already know this ?

Changed battery in laptop and now when trying to open dreamweaver cs3, I get "licensing for this product has stopped working"... contact customer support (thats a laugh).  So what now?
it says:  You cannot use this product at this time.  You must repair the problem by uninstalling and then reinstalling this product or contacting your IT admin or Adobe customer support for help.
Well it seems I am only able to install this on a maximum of 3 computers so if I uninstall and reinstall I may have used up all three.  What caused this in the first place?

And most licenses extend to 2 machines; not 3.  Your computer's clock probably reset when you changed batteries. Is your computer's clock set to the correct date and time now?

Just a quick update with a couple more details before I go to work:
I left my phone plugged into the wall charger all night long but the Apple logo is still blinking on and off. However, when unplugged from the charger, the screen goes blank and the unit does not respond to pressing/holding the buttons at all. Likewise, flipping the mute switch does not cause the phone to vibrate as it normally would, which made me wonder if power was being disrupted somewhere else in the unit before the battery. I just finished disassembling the unit down to the battery, looked for any loose connections etc., and did spot a suspicious looking spot on top of the #5 ribbon connector that I had not taken notice of before in my first disassembly. I'll take a picture of it and post a link for your consideration later on today when I have a spare moment, although I fear the worst.
