Low or no ipod battery power

A few years ago the battery power became fickle in colder weather. Now it has progressed to whenever I disconnect it from its dock station to either play it or add more songs to it, it either stops playing and or does not load songs with this message: "No Battery Power Remains Please connect Ipod to power". Has anyone else had this problem and if so, how do I fix it? Is it time for a new batter power purchase? Or is there a way to add songs without disconnecting from its docking station?

I believe it is time for a new Ipod/ battery. Apple wont replace any internal parts but will send you a new/ refurbished ipod identical to yours for around $125. You will, however, need to reload all songs, pictures, etc. 3rd partry sites will sell you a new battery for around $100 but most require you to install it yourself. Opening the Case will void the warranty. Which brings up another good point: if you still have a warranty (1 year from Apple, possible store/ credit card extension) use it. Your final option is to give your ipod to an apple store where they will recycle it for you and give you a 10% discount on a new Ipod of your chopice. hope this helps!! (this is what i have to do)

I have my ipod touch turned off, but it still seems to be losing battery power regardless. I have had the ipod for over a year and this is the first time this has happened. Does anyone know what could be causing this?I am not too technically gifted, but I am not a total dofus either. So I am quite sure I am in fact turning it off and not leaving it on all the time.

  • IPod Battery/Power Trouble...Please Help

I have had my iPod for about 3 years (so it's like a 2nd or 3rd gen.) anyway, when I have it connected to the power adapter it will turn on. But when I unplug the power cord or try to connect it to my computer it will not turn on. I have charged it overnight and it doesn't show up as being completely charged. I have reset it and still no power. Any ideas?

  • "No battery power remains. Please connect iPod to power."

I plugged my iPod into my laptop last night to sync/charge it like I always do, with no problem... today I unplugged it and turned it on, and after about 30 seconds it shut down, saying that my battery was dead. I brought it back and plugged it in... if I plug it in via USB cable, it just says that my battery power is extremely low and to please wait, and every few minutes it will light up and show the black screen with the silver apple, then just go back to "please wait". If I plug it in with a wall charger, it works, but it says it's fully charged, and as soon as I unplug it, it displays "No battery power remains. Please connect iPod to power." It still registers on my computer (as long as I start it with the wall charger, then switch the cables quick...), and I restored it, but it's still saying it's fully charged, and I know it's not. I've also tried resetting it a few times.
    Help???

I just had a similar problem with mine... It's like it gets into a loop where it's trying to boot up before there's enough charge. I've managed to break the cycle and get a charging logo on the screen - although I don't yet know whether this has fixed the problem.
I suggest you let it run completely dry and then plug it directly into your computer. Don't press any buttons and it possibly might make a difference whether Itunes is running (I think it was off for me). Hoepfully, if you leave it for half an hour or so, it will get the battery charge to a reasonable level where you can continue normally.
I kinda stumbled on this as I was playing around, so not sure whether the steps above are what improved the situation.
Hope there's some helpful info in there.

  • Erratic "Low Battery Power" shut-offs

My I-Pod Mini is less than a year old and has developed a very annoying problem. Even with a full charge the unit will flash the "Low Battery Power" warning and then shut off. On some occassions the unit will turn back on within a few minutes and then play for a few hours. On other occassions the unit will not play at all. In the latter circumstance, I charge the I-Pod, but the icon will show that the battery is fully charged. It is then 50-50 as to whether it will play.
To make matters more frustrating I sent my mini to Apple for service and got it back (completely erased) with a letter saying it operated within acceptable limits. So, now I have a mini that does not work well, and I am out shipping expenses - that doesn't seem right!
    Does anyone have any suggestions?

    This sounds like my problem.

    - Try a reset. Nothing is lost:
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
    - Connect the iPod to your computer and try to restore via iTunes. Try placing in Recovery mode if necessary to restore.
    - If you can't turn the iPod completely off, let the batter fully drain. After charging for at lerast anhour try again
    - If still not successful time for an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

That's usually a good indication that your iPod battery's is shot and in need of a replacement.  If you'd like, Apple can swap out the battery for a flat fee.

  • Getting a warning when battery power gets low.

    Hello!
I would like to get a warning, like a window popping up, saying that my battery power is running low. How can this be done?
Is it possible to make my machine hibernate if I don't connect it to power if I don't react to the warning?
I'm using a Lenovo Thinkpad T400, with an updated Arch installation, running Fluxbox.

  • Ipod mini- 3/4 battery shutting down with "no battery power remaining"

After fully charging my ipod mini, while it still has 3/4 battery on the battery meter in the corner will shut itself down due to "no battery power remaining" if i push the NEXT button too many times in a row. This is a consistant problem and always happens when i have a half battery power or more. I do keep it in Shuffle mode, and i am fully aware that will drain the battery quicker, however there should be no reason a freshly charged ipod with 3/4 battery should not be able to shuffle a few songs without shutting down. Has anyone else ever had this problem or knows of any solution for fixing it? Any help would be appreciated!!

my ipod is doing the same thing...except when I turn it on it will say i have 3/4 battery for only about 10 seconds, then it turns off. All the other forums I have read say to get the battery replaced, but Apple can and usually does send a faulty battery so it might be time for a new ipod.

  • T510 Battery Power Low.. Plug in power issues

I move from location to another location disconnect the power and then reconnect the power on laptop T510.
After a few hours’ work I get the message “Battery Power Low.. Plug in power”
The power adapter was plugged in from the start… All I do us remove the power connector and re-attached.. Then all is OK..
The battery icon in lower screen shows 97% available (plugged in, not charging)

Here are the drivers you will need to install on your computer:
    Power Manager for Windows 7:
    http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS014924
ThinkPad Power Manager Patch module for Windows 7:
    http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS018811
I would suggest going into your Programs and features and uninstalling the Power Manager from your computer, same goes for the drivers associated with it in device manager.
Once uninstalled I would then download the drivers from the links above.  This will give your computer a fresh install of these drivers.
Please let me know of the progress.
    Hope this helps,
    Alex

  • Is it normal if an 5th generation iPod Touch consumes battery power very fast?

See, I bought a blue iPod Touch about October in 2012.  But then, the battery gets consumed VERY, VERY, VERY FAST!  Within 30 minutes, at least half of the battery power gets drained.  When i'm charging, it charges fast.  PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

    To bobjbkln,
Thank you! I went to Apple today and I ask them if its normal, so then they said that they had a lot of problems like this.  He told me a solution which was to first go to Settings, then General, then Reset, then he said to '' Reset All Settings ''.  After that, he told me to use all the battery until the iPod completely shuts off.  Next, he said to charge the battery ALL the way and that should work.  They didn't change or give me a replacement of my iPod.
