Low power alarms

Why am I getting low power alarms on APs connected via power injectors?

what type of AP, aIOS or CUWN?
If aIOS:
power inline negotiation injector installed.
If CUWN
You can go in and check the power injector option in the AP config

  • 3G IPOD SHUTS DOWN ON "LOW POWER" AFTER CONNECTING TO ITUNES 7.0.2.16

My 3G Ipod will shutdown after briefly connecting to Itunes Ver 7.0.2.16. The Ipod displays a message saying that it is out of power. However, the display shows a full power meter before connecting to Itunes. I reboot Ipod and start playing songs and the power meter slowly begins to display a full power meter. I believe the Ipod has plenty of Power -- it has been charging all day. I am able to transfer songs to the Ipod for a short period before the Ipod shows low charge and then automatically shutsdown.
HP Pavilion a250n - Intel Pentium 4   Windows XP Pro

I typically charge the Ipod with my Altec Lansing Musical Docking station or my automobile FM transmitter. So the Ipod is already powered up when I connect it to my PC via a USB cable. But it shuts down and displays a low power alarm before it shuts down. So I only use USB to update -- and this has worked fine for many years. When I try to use the firewire connection, my PC bombs (blue screen of death error).
    Thanx for your comment.

  • No low battery alarm when on the call. (Nokia 700)

There must be some bug with the low battery alarm on Nokia 700. When the phone is on a long call, it just shuts down without any alarm at all. I had this issue several times. My battery shows that it’s full for about 30% or something. Then I call and have a long conversation. And the phone just dies without any alarm at all. When I try to start it again it seems that battery is drained and I have to charge it to turn it on again.
When the phone is in standby and battery is starting to running low, it beeps and shows a message. However, when I am on the call, nothings is happening, it doesn’t give me a message that battery is low and that it’s time to connect to the charger.
It’s a most important functionality I expect from the mobile phone, to be able to make a call reliably.
    It’s a Nokia 700
    Software version: 111.030.0609
    Software version date: 2011-11-26
    Custom version: 111.030.0609.c00.01
    Language set: 111.030.0609.05.01
    Product code: 059G2D6
    Type: RM-670

It seems to me that after I've got version 111.030.0609 installed by Nokia service technician, my Nokia 700 never goes into power saving mode (and it doesn't matter what do I have in Setup / power saving / power saving query). It doesn't turn saving on and it doesn't ask me about it. Something must be wrong with 111.030.0609

  • Cisco 3702i running on a WLC 8500 Drawing low power from 2960s

    Hi ..
I keep getting alarm errors in Prime 2.1.
"Access point 'AP01' associated with controller 'WLC-01'
draws low power from Ethernet. Failure reason: 'The AP draws 15.4
    watts from Ethernet'.
    Prime is running version 2.1
WC is a 8500 running software version 7.6.120.0
    2960s is a WS-C2960S-48FPD-L running Version 12.2(55r)SE
I have all ready done the following & still getting the same results :
1)Used the port command "power inline port maximum 30000
2)check & unchecked the box marked pre-standard power
3)Enabled CDP on the AP and PoE+ Switch
4)check & unchecked "Pre-Standard State" and "Power Injector State"
Any help with this would be most appreciated .

Could be similar to the below bug, Please the TAC notes at the bottom
AP process CDP packet addressed to bogus multicast address
    CSCtc39367
    Description
    Symptom:
All AP1252s in a given VLAN, which are on switchports configured for extended
PoE (16.8 or 20W), may intermittently see their power draw simultaneously
    drop to 15.4W.
At the same time, the APs will each log a message similar to the following:
    %CDP_PD-2-POWER_LOW: - INJECTOR_DETECTED_MULTIPLE_MACS_ON_HUB
    AIR-LAP1252AG-A-K9 (001e.bead.7c5f)
    Conditions:
Another AP in the AP1252's broadcast domain intermittently transmits
a CDP packet to a bogus multicast address (i.e. one other than
    0100.0ccc.cccc), such as fdc8.a414.cccc.
    Workaround:
On all of the access-ports to which the APs are connected, configure
a mac access-group that filters out non-IPv4 multicasts that are not
addressed to valid multicast MAC addresses.
    For example:
    Cab4-Cat4507Rc(config)#mac access-list extended WOOF
    Cab4-Cat4507Rc(config-ext-macl)#deny any any
    Cab4-Cat4507Rc(config-ext-macl)#int gig1/2
    Cab4-Cat4507Rc(config-if)#mac access-group WOOF out
(this blocks all non-IPv4 traffic that is not sourced by the switch.)
Further information: So far two TAC cases have been reported to Cisco matching
this bug. In both cases only one Access Point was transmitting these CDP
packets causing all other Access Points to drop the power consumption. In both
cases an RMA was done for the faulty Access Points.
If you require any help in isolating whether you are facing this bug on your
deployment please open a TAC Service Request.

  • Low power warning for AIR-LAP1242AG-C-K9

    Hi Buddie,
We purchased some AIR-LAP1242AG-C-K9 , but not perchasing any wireless controller. When I connect the LAP to Cat2950 or Cat2960 PPoE port, all the LAP can not boot normally. It indicates low power, please refer the two pictures attached. But if I use external power cable, the LAP can work well. So, I would like to know two things.
    1. Can I use LAP standalone without using controller ?
    2. If the above is Yes, how should I configure the PPoE on cat2950 to Support LAP correctly?
    Thank you very much.

    Hi Jian,
    Q. Can an LAP operate independent of a wireless LAN controller (WLC)?
    A. No, LAPs cannot function independent of WLCs. LAPs function in conjunction with a WLC only. The reason is that the WLC provides all the configuration parameters and firmware that the LAP needs in the registration process.
So you will need to either send the AP's back and get the IOS version, purchase a WLC or convert the LAP to IOS :(
    Q. How do I distinguish between a regular (autonomous) AP and an LAP?
    A. The easiest way to distinguish between a regular AP and a LAP is to look at the part number of the AP.
LAP (Lightweight AP Protocol [LWAPP])?Part numbers always begin with AIR-LAPXXXX.
Autonomous AP (Cisco IOS? Software)?Part numbers always begin with AIR-APXXXX.
    From this good Q&A doc;
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/wireless/ps430/products_qanda_item09186a00806a4da3.shtml
You can convert an access point from lightweight mode back to autonomous mode by loading a Cisco IOS Release that supports autonomous mode (Cisco IOS release 12.3(7)JA or earlier). If the access point is associated to a controller, you can use the controller to load the Cisco IOS release. If the access point is not associated to a controller, you can load the Cisco IOS release using TFTP.
Using a TFTP Server to Return to a Previous Release
Follow these steps to revert from LWAPP mode to autonomous mode by loading a Cisco IOS release using a TFTP server:
Step 1 The static IP address of the PC on which your TFTP server software runs should be between 10.0.0.2 and 10.0.0.30.
Step 2 Make sure that the PC contains the access point image file (such as c1200-k9w7-tar.122-15.JA.tar for a 1200 series access point) in the TFTP server folder and that the TFTP server is activated.
Step 3 Rename the access point image file in the TFTP server folder to c1200-k9w7-tar.default for a 1200 series access point, c1130-k9w7-tar.default for an 1130 series access point, and c1240-k9w7-tar.default for a 1240 series access point.
Step 4 Connect the PC to the access point using a Category 5 (CAT5) Ethernet cable.
Step 5 Disconnect power from the access point.
Step 6 Press and hold MODE while you reconnect power to the access point.
Step 7 Hold the MODE button until the status LED turns red (approximately 20 to 30 seconds) and then release.
Step 8 Wait until the access point reboots, as indicated by all LEDs turning green followed by the Status LED blinking green.
Step 9 After the access point reboots, reconfigure it using the GUI or the CLI.

  • HT1212 I had left my iPad for a day with low power.  I have since plugged it in to recharge and it will not turn on.  It is competly dead.  How do I restart?

I had left my iPad with low power for a day.  When I pluged it in it will not recharge or turn on after being plugged in for 24 hours.  It is completely Dead.  How can I recharge?

    Try resetting the iPad:
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10-15 seconds).

  • Low power mode

I went hiking this past weekend and wanted to only take my iphone instead of the usual GPS, camera, and cell phone. Unfortunately, my battery will only last about 24 hours (or less if at extreme edge of cell range).
I used a GPS mapping application that allowed me to cache map tiles on my phone ahead of time, but I found there was no way to turn off the power hungry radio while still leaving my GPS enabled. So every time I wanted to take a picture (with location tags) or get a breadcrumb on where I was I had to turn off air plane mode, let my GPS get a location and then turn off airplane mode. The other problem with this is that when I did have airplane mode off, my email started to sync which just burned up even more battery (and reminded me of all the work I should be doing!).
It would also be ideal if apps had a low power idle state where they could stay running but basically not use any power between waking up every so many minutes. This would be great for a bread crumb tracking app that only updates every so often.

  • Disable low power wake?

    Hi everybody,
is there any way to disable low power wake? Unfortunately, it causes a lot of problems, e.g. TeamViewer, Rowmote, EyeTV refuse to work properly after Wake on LAN because the screen is not turned on again. It's a very annoying feature, especially on my Mac mini which I use as HTPC. If there is no fix or no update coming, I will have to go back to Snow Leopard.
    Thanks in advance

  • USB low power message

G4 (MDD) running OS X 10.4.11 - Just got a Zoom H2 digital recorder - when I try to connect to USB (via powered hub) I get a low-power warning and no luck connecting (even with the H2 plugged in via A/C). It works fine when I plug directly into the USB port in the back of the computer. There are only 2 USB ports on my G4 - my hub is in one USB port (has my printer and a couple of flash drives in it), and the other onboard port is for my keyboard. This does not seem to be a USB version issue, but rather an available-power issue (?) Can anyone please suggest a solution - do I need to add a USB card (PCI), and if so, what can you recommend for my system? Thanks in advance!!

Your Mac's USB ports are USB 1.1. Even if you didn't get the low power message, the video transfer would be very slow.
Suggest you install a USB 2.0 PCI card. See USB 2.0 PCI Cards

  • In search of msi 945gt speedster-a4r (MS-9632) or low power consumption

When and where can I find the msi 945gt speedster-a4r or MS-9632?
Although this board has been announced, appears on the website with specifications, and has been exhibited at tech shows, I can not find it in the USA.     Update:  MSI, itself, did not return any of my calls or email but one of their distributors, ASI, was very nice and said this board would appear in the USA at end of May 2006.      New update:  ASI now says end of April.
I want a system that consumes low power yet will run a controller board in a pci-e slot at x4, 8, or 16,
this MSI board looks like the thing: it runs a core duo yonah type processor and has a pci-e x4 slot.
So far, the 975x boards like Aopen have dual pci-e x16 slots but they appear only to work only with graphics boards.
I want to put a raid controller areca arc-1230 into the slot.  Areca was very responsible and actually tested the 975 boards to find out that they did not work at this time.

I'm afriad that nobody can gives you a definate answer on your question as this concern many factors to say as in production lines, marketing and distribution.

  • Win10 defeating my system's low power modes

Both of these devices ran properly in their low-power modes under 8.1x64:
    1) Radeon HD 7850 2GB--For some reason after a boot up, 10-20 minutes later, my GPU jumps from its low-power clocks of 300Mhz/150MHz (core/ram) to full power, and shows 92% GPU activity and appears "stuck" there.  Removing all of the Win10
updates did not alleviate the problem as I was hoping for.  This is the case regardless of AMD gpu driver used.  But it gets better...
    2) Not only is my GPU stuck on full throttle mode (even when doing nothing or else simply browsing), but my *CPU,* which under 8.1x64 ran fine with AMD's Cool'nQuiet power reduction modes (like Intel's Speed Step), *also* (at the same time) kicks up to *full
power* although set in Windows to fluctuate between 10% and 100% on a demand basis.
The only cure that works is to log off and then back on...which corrects the problem for about another 20-30 minutes before both devices go to full power again. Definitely something is strange in the Win10 Preview (which I upgraded from an 8.1 installation
    with none of these problems.)
Now this may or may not be tied to the problem, but for some really oddball reason Windows10TP will not let me install two innocuous utilities I've used for years: CPU-Z & HWmonitor.  Win10 claims these application are incompatible with it--yet,
these are only simple hardware identifying programs--and both ran without difficulty under 8.1x64.
    Suggestions appreciated...!

Mike...Thanks for the reply!  This is a real head-scratcher...;)  I've used the last three drivers from AMD for the gpu--same result every time.  All clocks in the system bios (UEFI) are set to default, and my Win10 install is UEFI (not legacy)
and the Secure Boot State is ON. All clocks are running at defaults. I also reinstalled the Win10TP updates as I determined they weren't the problem as it continued after I uninstalled them.
Yes, C'nQ it is enabled in the bios (as I mentioned, all of this stuff worked like a clock under 8.1x64)...and that's the weird thing...Win10TP...operates exactly like it should in relation to the low power modes for around 20-30 minutes--exactly like it
did in 8.1 all the time--and then for some inexplicable reason both devices jump to full power/full speed--as if something is running that demands the power/speed--but it isn't!
I've run differing browsers with hardware acceleration turned off; I've run nothing at all apart from normal boot-up running programs, and it makes no difference.  Something is throwing these devices into max-power mode after 20-30 minutes from a boot/log-off/on
    having occurred.
Motherboard is MSI G46-970a, UEFI version 2.6 (latest)
CPU is AMD FX-6300 @ stock speeds & voltages
8GBs DDR 3 running with stock timings and settings (2x4GB)
    HIS HD 7850 2GB running @ stock speeds/voltages
I've all through the power savings options I'm using and can't find anything that might explain this--I keep going back to the fact that this never happened even once under 8.1, and I started with 8.0 in Jan '13 and have upgraded from there--never happened
with Win7x64, either (same hardware, same settings.)
I'm wondering if maybe I ought to be running the Enterprise version of Win10TP, but I can't really think of *why* that would make a difference with these symptoms...
If you think of anything else, I'm all ears...;)
Edit: BTW,  I am Migration User 1...;)  I hadn't signed in when I posted the original question--I suppose--although I didn't think I could post without being signed in...
