Low resolution on cinema display 27" backlit

Even though I calibrate it. When viewing images in HD that are on the web, they are undefined. While watching the same program on my iMac 21.4" gives a perfectly defined clear image. Is there a way to calibrate so it's perfectly viewed like on TV and my iMac? even the normal mail page or any page, like the help page lacks definition.
Some help out there?

Hi,
Is there a fix for this?
The UI is tiny on my Dell XPS 15 (retina display).
Is there no option such as in photoshop for 'experimental features' to enlarge the UI by 200%?
Currently it's unusable on a retina display.
Thanks.

  • Low resolution on retina display

It seems that adobe muse opens in low resolution on retina display. I used to have the same problem with adobe acrobat, but in that case i solved the problem by following the procedure in: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1298242. That procedure, however, doesn't work with muse. Can somebody help me?

  • Cinema display goes black upon resolution change in Windows XP

    Greetings
Earlier today, I updated my ATI X1600 Radeon to the latest Windows Catalyst drivers and to the Catalyst Control Center from ATI. Even since, whenever a Windows application (games, in this case) tries to change the resolution on my external Apple Cinema Display (designated as the main monitor in the ATI Catalyst Control Center, with the MacBook Pro display disabled), the display goes black, and the monitor power lamp starts to flash.
If I unplug the external Cinema Display from my MacBook Pro, my MacBook Pro display activates, and displays whatever it is I was trying to launch, so the problems is somehow related to the Cinema Display, even if the new drivers are causing it.
This happens regardless of my Catalyst Control Center settings, such as scaling the lower resolution to fit the screen, or keeping it the original size, with black borders around. The problem does not occur when I launch games using 1600 x 1024, the Cinema Display's native resolution.
Any ideas what might be causing it, and how to resolve it?

Update on my situation: when I tried to change the resolution manually in Windows, I encountered the same problem. Now, whenever I connect the Cinema Display to my MacBook Pro, the same thing occurs: the screen goes black, and the power lamp starts flashing, even though I've changed back to 1600 x 1024.

  • My 20" cinema display won't give opimal resolution with my MacBook

    I just bought a 20" cinema display and hooked it up to my MacBook; I can tell that the cinema display is not at the 1680 resolution; It says it is from the Display drop down menu, but when i toggle between lower resolutions nothing changes;
It seems to be at the 1280 of the MacBook
    I read some posts that talked about this problem;
Can anyone tell me about their experiences, and how to solve it?

OK, so my desktop was put to sleep overnight as I do on a daily basis and this morning my 4-month-old 23" cinema display was solid black. The power light was on and NOT flickering. I restarted, unplugged, changed power supply, also connected the display to my new MacbookPro but the Display refused to show anything.
I brought it to the Apple Store and they took it in for a whopping 21-Day repair! I am extremely upset that Apple would sell an expensive, professional peripheral that conked-out 4 months after its purchase. Luckily, I had read these forums and found out that the problem was not uncommon. I was wise to follow everyone's advice and spend additional $$ on Apple Care.
But 21 days for a graphic arts professional without his monitor and NO loaner is outrageous. The guys at the Genius bar did not even flinch or bat an eye when he took it in. It's as if I was returning a Hyunday to the dealer. At least, they offer a free 100,000 mile warranty.
    What gives, Mr. Jobs?

  • Why does my 27" LED Cinema Display only display maximum resolution of 1920x1200, when my Mid 2009 13" MBP says it supports up to 2560x1600?

When I have my MBP connected to my 27" LED Cinema Display, my display settings only show a maximum resolution of 1920x1200, when the specs on both my MBP and Display say they they support up to 2560x1600?  Am I missing something?

I finally decided to just take my MBP down to the Apple store and see what would happen if I connected it to one of their new ACDs.  At 1st, the guy at the Genius Bar told me that my MBP only supported 1280x800 as a maximum resolution.  I told him that was for my MBP screen, and not an external monitor.  Finally I convinced him to let me connect my MBP to one of their monitors.  Low and behold, looking at the Display settings pane I saw some addtional resolutions, including 2560x1600!
So, now I have confirmed that my MBP can drive an external monitor to a resolution of 2560x1600, using just the single mini displayport connection.  I just have to figure out what's wrong with my ACD.  Suspecting that my older ACD might not support this higher resolution, I did finally discover that my model only supports a maximum resolution of 1920x1600.
    Sorry for all the confusion...

  • Screen resolution problem - HP computer and LED Cinema Display

I just purchased an HP Envy Phoenix H9-1330 with Windows 8, and I connected it to my 27" Mac LED Cinema Display, but the resolution is horrible. The highest option in the screen resolution menu is 1280 x 720, and I'm getting the error message "Your resolution is lower than 1024 x 768. Some items might not fit and apps might not open". How do I fix this? What kind of issue is this (Windows 8? Graphics card? HP can't support my monitor? etc...)?
I just bought another brand new computer, but not an HP, with Windows 8 and I have no problems with the resolution - it looks absolutely beautiful. I want to use my monitor with my HP desktop though.
    Thanks for any help

    Still haven't figured it out....
BUT I did notice that, on the back of the computer, there are 2 additional DVI connections that are covered with a black cover and screwed in (and they say 'please do not remove'.... I'm asuming it's because they aren't connected to anything? Or maybe they aren't connected to the graphics card?). Is it possible that just my DVI connection is wrong, and I'll need to connect to one of these covered-up DVI inputs instead? But why are they covered up? Do I need to take it in so they can be connected to the graphics card?? Help! I don't want to return this computer, but I will have to if I can't get the resolution fixed.

  • Resolution issues in mirror mode with last model of Cinema display and MBP

I have been using my MBP with a 27 inch Cinema display for the last year in mirror mode. (Both prior to Thunderbolt). Today, the cinema display is only coming up in low resolution while mirrored, but if I exit mirro mode, the reolution on the Cinema display is correct. Any suggestions on how to get back to prior state?
    Thanks to anyone who responds!

Same issue here. Since upgrade to Snow Leopard, my 24 Cinema LED Display acts weird with closed lid on my Macbook. It doesn't switch on video at all, only audio seems to work. It is correctly plugged with the special power/USB cable that comes/is attached to the 24 Cinema LED. Also booting the Macbook and immediately closing the lid doesn't
    No video at all!
Please help, it seems my external display has become useless...

  • Cinema display resolution oddity

My Cinema display is set at 1680 X 1050, and normally works as it should.
However, when waking from sleep, the desktop background will shrink at
the bottom and right, to show a gray background.
Changing the resolution manually from and back to 1680 X 1050 fixes
    this.
Hardly a major problem. Is this unique to my machine / display?
    harv

You need to switch from Mirrored to Extended Desktop mode in the Displays pane of System Preferences. In Mirrored mode, the external display is always set to the same resolution as the built-in display. In Extended Desktop mode, the resolutions of the two displays are set independently.

  • How do I uncheck the "open in low resolution" box for Acrobat Pro 10.1.10 in a MBP with retina display?

I have the "open in low resolution" box checked by default and I can not uncheck it because it is shaded out. I already tried the "uninstall Acrobat, delete the 'com.adobe.PDFAdminSettings.plist' file, and reinstall"  solution, but it did not work. I am using Adobe CS6, acrobat pro 10.1.10, macbook pro w/ retina display, and OS X 10.9.4.

I don't think Acrobat 10 is capable of that. Only the very latest Acrobat 11 update has some concessions for Retina displays.

  • Display issue: green, flashing pixels, low resolution on my new MBP 17"

I just bought my MacBook Pro 17" on December 2010 from Authorized Reseller in Dublin.
After couple of days for the first time and now every 2-3 days my MBP's display goes suddenly pixleated with green, shiny pixels and all display appears like low resolution. After closing the lid and opening it again the problem disappears. During that display problem my computer has no issue with performance like: video playing, opening and closing applications, rebooting, etc. Here are some screen shots made by my photo camera during this display issue: http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/809/dsc03872j.jpg http://img64.imageshack.us/img64/6670/dsc03879x.jpg http://img834.imageshack.us/img834/7914/dsc03885z.jpg http://img23.imageshack.us/img23/3830/dsc03881g.jpg
I should mention that I also made a screen shot with Shiftcmd3 combination of keys during this display issue and it appears, as you can see http://img521.imageshack.us/img521/8618/screenshot20110123at204.png as it should be - sharp and clear. One of my friend said that maybe I should reinstall operating system, but my guess is that it isn't software (Snow Leopard) issue. By the way, I have all the latest updates.
Please, can you tell me what is the problem, what is causing it and what should I do?
    Thank you.

Ok, guys, I should update my main post about screen issues on my MacBook Pro 17" 2010 model, because it was quiet a big issue. It was actually problem not with display panel (which was completely replaced and which didn't resolved that screen issue at all) but with motherboard which has been replaced (by Mactivate).
After almost 3 months I can say that the computer had no issues since the repair: no screen issues, no noisy running vents.
I must say I am happy with repair made by Mactivate (actually one of few repair services authorized and recommended by Apple). They arranged the pick up with their own currier with no charge, great communication and most of all - they did everything to resolve this quiet unusual issue with my display.
I really and honestly can recommend Mactivate to anyone in Ireland.

  • My iphone 4s suddenly displays images from Yahoo, Google, and Flickr at low resolution. The camera on my phone works fine, but any web related photo content is now pixelated and low res, what's the deal?

My iphone 4s suddenly displays images from Yahoo, Google, and Flickr at a low resolution. I have IOS 7.0.4. My phone camera works fine, but any web based photo content from Safari, Yahoo images, Google images, and Flickr all come in pixelated and low res. What's the deal?

It happened to me but later I figured out that cellular signal was not that great and so the Internet was very slow. It took me about 2 minutes to get the full resolution picuture on either of the app you've described. Try to get faster internet either by wifi or good signal and then check.

  • 23" Display turned to low resolution monochrome

I have dual monitors running off an ATI Radeon 9600 Pro card. One day I rebooted after a crash and one of the monitors went monochrome and is low resolution. I switched the cables and it moved to the other monitor. So, I assumed it was the video card- so I got a new one and it is still doing the same thing. When I look at Displays in the System preferences it says 256 colors while the other says millions.
    Any ideas?

    Hi-
    Welcome to Discussions!
Not sure, but check your System Preferences/Universal Access/Display. See if the "Use grayscale" radio button is checked.
? Is the "millions of colors" listed as an option for the ailing display?

  • How can I get rid of a small "thread" in the lower right corner of my new 27" Cinema Display?

I recently acquired a new 27" Cinema display.  Yesterday I noticed a small thread like piece of debris under the glass on the lower right side of the display.  Any suggestions as to how I can get rid of it?  Take it to the Apple Store?  Return it for a replacement (which might have the same issue).

  • Web graphics / images display in low resolution on any web browser

    Hi everyone.
This issue has had me stumped for a few months now. I never noticed this issue with Snow Leopard but now with Lion I have noticed that web graphics display at a significantly lower resolution. I switch between Google Chrome and Safari and the issue is present on both browsers.
Basically any website with graphics, or images will be pixelated and lacking in fine detail. It is painfully obvious when browsing sites like Flickr and 500px. In these cases, my own personal images look terrible online, but look absolutely normal in my Lightroom library, so I know it's not a strange display issue on my Mac.
I'm just curious if anyone has had a similar issue, and if you have figured out how to resolve it.
    Thank you very much!
    - Abram

i have the same issue with safari on my mac. i'm not sure if i have snow leopard or not. all i know is i am on a G4 with mac os 10.5.8 and have safari 5.0.1. last week, i could not watch certain video clips online, because {as it stated in my browser where the video should be} i did not have the most recent flash player. but when i went to download the most recent version, it told me it would not work on a power pc mac. so i researched and found out i had to use the flash 10.1.102.64 player... it's the most recent version that will work on a power pc mac. so i uninstalled the flash player i had on my mac and installed this player. all well and good... now i can see the videos.
but what's not well and good is that i no longer have hi-res images in my browser. all images are pixelated and unclear. i posted on the adobe forum to see if i could get an answer as to why.
    here was my post/inquiry...
"I recently upgraded my Flash Player so that I could view internet content (such as videos) that were not available to me before I upgraded. Ever since, the images on most web sites that I visit are now pixelated (look very low-resolution). I had not made any other changes to any settings on my computer or software. The browser I use is Safari 5.0.1. I had to upgrade to the Flash Player 10.1.102.64 because I am on a PowerPC Mac G4, and that is the most recent version of Flash Player that will work with Power PCs.
Anyway, now that I have upgraded (which included first uninstalling the old Flash Player), my images look pixelated... most do, anyway. For some reason images I post to flickr appear okay on screen. But normal 72dpi images on standard web sites (like Yahoo) appear very lo-res.
Does this have to do with whether or not my Mac's operating system is 64-bit or 32-bit... or the Safari software... in relation to the Flash Player's... whether or not they are compatible? If not, I have no idea why this would have changed since upgrading my Flash Player. And if so, what can I do to get around it? I'm somewhat computer savvy... but not this much. Can someone please help me so that I don't have to pay $39 to call Support and ask them?"
    here was their reply...
"Sounds like the installation went pear-shaped somewhere. Try it again using the method described here:https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2805854?start=0&tstart=0
Or maybe they'll know what the cause of your pixelated images is."
but the discussion link they gave me did not help. i had already done what it suggested. and i tried it again... still no luck.
    help.... anyone!!!! please?
