    - Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
    - Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.

I can hear sound though my head phones but not though the speakers on my iPad how do I fix it

Or ... If you can hear music in the Music app without the headphones, you may have system sounds muted.
If you lose sounds for keyboard clicks, games or other apps, email notifications and other notifications, system sounds may have been muted.
System sounds can be muted and controlled two different ways. The screen lock rotation can be controlled in the same manner as well.
Settings>General>Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds. If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds.
If you choose Lock Screen Rotation, then the switch locks the screen. If the screen is locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner next to the battery indicator gauge.
If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the task bar. Double tap the home button and in the task bar at the bottom, swipe all the way to the right. The speaker icon is all the way to the left. Tap on it and system sounds will return.
If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock rotation can be accessed via the task bar in the same manner as described above.
This support article from Apple explains how the side switch works.

  • No sound from right speaker on Pavilion g6-1353ea after installing Windows 8

I've had no sound from right speaker on my HP Pavilion g6-1353ea after installing Windows 8. I've checked all drivers, and have done the sound test in sound properties (left speaker beeps fine, but then nothing from the right). Anyone else having this problem/found a solution?!

    Hi,
    Try the following.
Download the IDT Audio installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.
    http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp59001-59500/sp59154.exe
When done, open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager and open up Sound, Video and Game Controllers.  Right click the IDT device and select Uninstall - you should also get a prompt to remove the current driver, tick the box to allow this and then proceed with the uninstall.
When complete, shut down the notebook, unplug the AC Adapter and then remove the battery.  Hold  down the Power button for 30 seconds.  Re-insert the battery and plug in the AC Adapter.
Tap away at the esc key as you start the notebook to launch the Start-up Menu and then select f10 to enter the bios menu.  Press f5 to load the defaults ( this is sometimes f9, but the menu at the bottom will show the correct key ), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.  Press f10 to save the setting and again use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.
Let Windows fully load - it will automatically load an audio driver, but just let this complete.  Then open your Downloads folder, right click on the IDT installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation.  When this has completed, right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select Playback Devices.  Left click 'Speakers and Headphones' once to highlight it and then click the Set Default button - check if you now have audio in both speakers.

  • Really low sound from rear left spea

I have 5. headphones and when i have them pluged into my xtreamgamer i barly get any sound from my rear left speaker, i know it works because if i plug it in my basic MB soundcard it works fine. Is this a known problem or a fix for this?

I've installed the latest drivers, made sure the the jack is plugged in right (theres only one, that comes from the Monitor or the headphones). The CD only has an installation guide, and i know onboard sound is disabled because i never had one in the first place after a recent reformat. and before that reformat sound came out from both sides normally, so i know something is wrong with the sound card.
EDIT: i just did a random tests, and i found out that the right speaker is working, but it is playing extreamly low. i had to blare up my volume up to 00% and i bearly heard it. i've checked the playback control, and played around with it and still have same problem.Message Edited by Bigs80 on --200606:49 AM

  • Crackling sound from right speaker - Envy 14 Beats edition

The right speaker on my Envy 14 Beats edition has a crackling/static sound when playing any sort of sound from it.  I assumed it was a faulty speaker since its just the right speaker..  I've talked to HP support and they had me send it in.
After two weeks I got it back only to find that they simply changed some audio configurations in an attempt to fix it.  Nothing has changed and the problem still exists.
Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if there is some sort of fix for this without me having to send it back to them to replace the speaker.

Hello tedebare73.  I understand your notebook is making a weird sound from the left speaker.
Are there any other electronic devices (guitar amplifiers, cell phones, speakers) around the notebook?  These can all cause very strange noises.
Try hard resetting the notebook as well.  Here are the steps.
    Shut down the notebook.
Remove the battery and AC power.
Press and hold the power button for 10-15 seconds three times.
Replace the battery and AC power.
    Verify whether the problem persists.
Finally, if neither of the above have an effect try removing and reinstalling the driver.  Here are instructions.
    Go to your Device Manager.
Expand the "Sound, video, and game controllers" section.
Right click on your audio device and select "Uninstall."
Reboot the notebook.  Windows will automatically reinstall the driver.
    Verify whether the problem persists.
Let me know the results.  Have a wonderful day!
Please click the white star under my name to give me Kudos as a way to say "Thanks!"
Click the "Accept as Solution" button if I resolve your issue.

  • Sound from Right Only

The project I'm working on in Final Cut Pro suddenly shifted all the audio to the Right speaker, leaving a low hiss in the left.
Is there a way I can make the entire project mono, leaving out the low left hiss?

And as for the second option... you lost me.
Copy the right track and paste it into another track like the one directly below. You now have two tracks. Dial one to -1 and the other to +1. The result SHOULD be mono sound from both speakers.
Funny the Pan to 0 did not work for you.??

  • Satellite L650 no sound from speakers or phones

I.ve just had my first serious issue with my Toshiba Satellite L650 - particularly serious as i rely on it for all my music playback!
Normally I can plug in and out the headphone socket into my stereo, the speakers cut out and I get glorious HiFi while it's inserted, and the onboard speakers kick back in when I remove it.
Today I plugged in as ususal and listened to some tunes.
I unplugged (to move the laptop) and the internal speakers did not kick back in.
I plugged the headphone jack in again and there was no sound from my stereo (finger test confirms the stereo jack works).
I checked all app and main volume controls - healthy meter levels were present.
In device manager, everything reported fine and meter activity occurred during the sound device test routines for both speakers and headphones, but no actual signal present at the phones socket nor the speakers.
"Update Drivers" returned the message that I;m up to date.
I uninstalled the "High Definition Audio Device" drivers, and scanned for hardware changes afterwards - drivers were automatically found and installed successfully, but still no sound.
In desperation I dug out an old USB-to-audio gadget, plugged it in and sound came out of that perfectly well from the USB port.
Can anybody suggest what I can try to force a connection internally between Microsoft Sound Mapper (i.e. the digital chain of things which appears to be working fine) and the actual hardware outputs?
This machine is not an old duffer and this shouldn't be happening!
    Many Thanks in advance!

    Hi
Hmm I doubt that the headphone jack is faulty because in such case the notebooks internal speakers should work properly.
Please go to control panel -> sound -> playback tab.
Are speakers listed as an default device?
Furthermore please check the Realtek HD Audio manager which can be found on control panel too.
On the right you should see some options (in my case they are marked with an folder icon). Check this!

I recently bought a (refurbished) September 2013 model imac 21.5".  Looks great, but only one problem when I play any audio/ video, streamed or local, there come a clicking and popping sound from the right side only. Sounds like fireworks from a distance.  No such noise through headphone.  I tried all solutions suggested on different forums.  No success.  Can someone out there help, before I decide to take it to the apple store or return it?

  • Audio only comes out of the right head phone on my iPhone 4?

I've just bought an iPhone 4 16GB off a family friend and the phone was in fully working order, I've seen it and used it. It's been restored back to factory default and now audio only comes out of 1 head phone through  the audio jack? I've checked inside the jack for anything in there and I've used 4-5 pairs of head phones I know are working having used them in other devices. I've used this phone in the past with the head phones so I know it does work. I've tried doing a reset, same problem still occurs. Any idea's at all?

  • Very, very low sound from MSI K8N SLI Platinum

The sound from my MSI K8N SLI Platinum nForce 4 is so low that i must set the volume control on max and the speakers on max to hear anything. I tried other speakers with the same result. The speakers are amplified.
    What can i do?

Well for a start you could search the forum as this problem is now well known. I'm not getting at you but I know how frustraing it is wanting someone to respond with an answer, and you don't have to wait if the problem has already been discussed!
The problem is that MSI decided to specify that the 24 pin supply must have -5v to support the creative chip. This is in contradiction to atx 2.2, and other PSU specs for 24pin supplys, which say the pin in question is NC (no connection).
What you need is a dual standard 20/24 pin supply.
Theres is a FAQ about this on the diamond forum, but I'm not sure if unregistered Platinum SLI users can read them anymore!
According to the FAQ MSI are promising US diamond users the chance to RMA their diamond boards when modified boards whcih don't require the -5v supply are availble. This isn't much use to us european Platinum SLI users.
I have a Tagan 480w which is dual standard 20/24 pin supply.

  • Audigy 1 PCI card, only have sound from right side speak

hi guys and gals, I'm thinking my audigy has finally kicked the bucket as i only get sound from of the two side channels, its not a cable or speaker issue, and can find no loose connection or burn through on the card, anyone had this problem is there some simple fix or should i just buy a new card :P
    Cheers
    Raiden

Wow, so after testing it in linux and not working, i thought to myself definitely something in the connections.
So I look at the sub/rear/front connectors and decide to just disconnect and reconnect them. Surely, enough the rear connector on the soundcard wasn't in all the way hence the only rear speaker working.
Well after spending a day on this and finding the very simple fix all i can say is DOH

  • 5800 no sound from right side in headphones

I've tried changing headphones and made sure the right option is selected in the menu that comes when you plug in the headphones but I can hear sound only from the left side. It applies to both music player and radio. This is a brand new phone.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

First go to music player. Select options>audio settings> balance. Is it in the middle?
If yes then might be hardware issue. Take your phone to nearest nokia care. Let them have a look on your phone.
But take a backup before going to nokia care.
