Low vibration when plugged into a 220v outlet

Has anyone ever experienced a low vibration coming from their macbook pro when plugged into/ charging from a 220v source?

I noticed that, if my MB is charging whilst plugged into a 4-way adaptor plug (along with other things), such as a lamp, my mobile phone and a heated blanket, this causes the mild vibration on my MB case. I then discovered that unplugging the heated blanket from the 4-way adaptor causes the vibration to instantly stop. Leaving the phone charging and the lamp turned on appears to have no effect on the vibration at all.
So, if you're charging/operating other things/devices from the same adaptor (power source) as you're charging your MB from, then try unplugging these and just leaving the MB to charge form this power source on its own... see if that makes any difference.
It stopped the vibration for me anyway.

My iPhone won't stop vibrating when plugged into my Macbook.  All software is up to date.  iTunes just gives me an error.  No problems when plugged into a PC.  Why the nonstop vibrating!?

When I connect it to my iMac (with up-to-date OS X Yosemite 10.9.5) - it doesn't work.
Specifically - iTunes automatically launches, but then quickly shows a dialog window that says, "iTunes could not connect to the iPhone. This device is no longer connected."
Meanwhile - on my iPhone - in the upper right-hand corner (where the battery life is displayed) - you can see the "plugged in" icon (lightening bolt) rapidly blinking on and off.
In other words - it seems like, when it's plugged in - it's rapidly connecting and disconnecting (several times per second).
If I click "OK" on that dialog window on iTunes - it instantly pops back up, and continues to do so as long as I keep the iPhone plugged in.
I have tried all and stile did not resolve my problem. I tried to restart both devices, try different cable (I have original cable). Both devices are new and software's are update it on latest versions.
Thanks in advance for any help!

  • IPhone 5 becomes unresponsive when plugged into a wall outlet with built in USB outlet

I installed 4 wall outlets today each that has a single 110 power outlet with two USB ports as well. When my iPhone 5 is plugged in with my factory lightning to USB cable, the touch screen becomes basically unresponsive. It must be being over powered. But the iPad mini functions normally when plugged in there. I assume it's because it's a bigger device and can handle the additional power.

    Update
I guess that it just had a bad connecting port on the phone itself, no clue why it wouldn't work when plugged in both ways other than there is actually some differentiating between the two sides.

  • Can i stop vibration when plugged into power source?

    Hi Folks,
    First time poster,
my wife is heavily pregnant and has been going to bed about 7pm, everytime I sneak into bed later on the night and plug my Iphone 4s into power to charge in DnD mode it vibrates and wakes her, she is getting really annoyed with this now and suggests I get an Andriod phone like the one she owns which does not do this.
How Can I stop the viration when I plug the phone into power? I do not wish to hack or cannibalise my Iphone.  I need my phone next to the bed as I use it as my alarm clock and for emergencies.
    thanks
    J

If you don't mute the phone using the mute switch on the side, it will not vibrate plugging it into the charger or dock. But it will make a short sound instead.

Clean out the docking port of the phone.

  • My iPod only works when plugged into a wall socket!

Anyone know why my iPOD only works when plugged into a wall outlet? I tried it on the Bose docking station and also my MacBook and it won't work!
    Any ideas??

Sounds like a dead battery.  You can have Apple swap out the battery for a flat fee or you can send it to a third party service center to have them do the same for job a little less.

  • My iPad2 won't charge when plugged into an outlet.

My iPad 2 won't charge when plugged into an outlet. I've tried 12W and 10W original Apple iPad chargers as well as iPhone 4 chargers. It charges (very slowly) when I plug it into my laptop but I've tried every outlet in my house and at work with no success. So I am stumped as to why it won't work in two completely different locations when plugged into the outlet - because it's obviously not the charger, cable or the iPad batter.
I've tried blowing out dust from the port, resetting my iPad (holding down the home and power buttons at the same time) and jiggling the cable.
Note: I am still on iOS 6 so upgrading my OS isn't the issue.
I would appreciate any assistance with this as it's very frustrating!

If it will charge when connected to the computer, but very slowly, typical of a low power USB port, but will not charge with the chargers you have tried, the issue is then most likely with the chargers.  However, to be sure, take the iPad and charger and cable to an Apple store genius bar and have the technicians test them to see where the problem is occuring.

  • Works when plugged into wall outlet only

My ipod works only when it's plugged into the wall outlet. When I unplug it from the wall it works for about 2 seconds, says it has a low battery and dies. When it's in the wall it says it's fully charged. Can't reset, can't restore. Any ideas?

Let the batteryd rain fully, then charge it via USB.

  • How to recover music? iPod only works when plugged into wall outlet

My iPod is probably 5 years old or so. It's been acting up for a while and I stupidly, did not back it up.
The battery was replaced this weekend so it works when plugged into the wall. It will not power on or do anything when not plugged into the wall. When plugged into the wall charger, it can turn on and says it is charging. It can be used then but as soon as it is unplugged, it's dead.
When it is plugged into the computer, it says "Charging. Please wait...". There isn't enough power from my laptop to power the iPod, so my computer doesn't even recognize it. It does not show up in iTunes.
On the brightside, I have a new iPod classic waiting to be used. However, I would VERY much like to get my 90gb+ off of my old iPod first. Is there a way to do this?
I'm at a loss. Some of the files are on there are not anywhere else. I have a few songs by a friend who lost them on their own computer.
Any help would be very appreciated!

Bump. Is there no way to solve this?

  • HT1386 When an iPhone is plugged into the wall outlet and is synced with iTunes, does the phone need to be ejected on iTunes like it would be if connected to the computer, or is it just fine to disconnect from the wall?

I am wondering if I need to eject my iPhone from iTunes or if it is fine to unplug the phone without ejecting.

If it's connected to your computer and synced with iTunes you should eject it.  If it's only plugged into a wall outlet and not your computer, just unplug it (since there's nothing to eject it from).

  • IPhone 4 registers that it is getting a charge (vibrates when plugged in) but is not charging

My iPhone 4 registers that it is getting a charge (vibrates when plugged in) but is not charging.  The charging display shows the fully charged symbol and not the charging symbol.  I have tired charging using two different cords and into both my computer and an outlet.

Thanks Jennifer.  I have done some searching and nothing firm came up.  I have also tried a hard resent, both with it plugged in and without.  I have an appointment at the apple store tomorrow.  I too think a restore or new battery is in my future.  Thanks again!

  • BSOD when plugging into Dynadock U3

    Hi There,
We have a wide number of Toshiba Dynadock u3.0's working with a number of Sony Vaio Laptops. In the main they have worked pretty well, and have improved over time as new releases have come out.
At the moment we are rolling out the new Sony Vaio Pro laptops, and Dynadock is almost essential for users because the Vaio Pro's do not have an ethernet adapter. We are also downgrading them to Windows 7 from Windows 8 as we are not ready for Windows 8 on a large rollout, and holding off till 8.1 goes live.
We have had a couple of blue screen of deaths on 2 Vaio Pro's when plugging into the Dynadock. Both have the latest dynadock drivers, and we have obtained the memory dump for the machines. Before they were plugged in, they were on the WLAN in the office.
The other half a dozen devices we have in use at the moment have not yet reported this issue, and the BSOD has appeared on these two devices only once each, but I was asked to report this issue on these forums to just confirm there is no obvious issue with the Dynadocks.
In the meantime we have 3 other Vaio pros which are being tested and have not yet experinced the same issue.

  • IPhone 4S only powers on when plugged into a wall charger, stuck in bootloop

Today I went to get my phone's screen fixed. At first, the problem was that the phone was rebooting every 3-4 minutes. Then, after it died, it doesn't power on anymore, except when it is plugged into a wall charger. However, it is stuck in a bootloop, where it shows the apple logo for about 7 seconds, then the screen goes black for about 5 seconds, then repeats. I can't unplug it or else the phone goes dead, and plugging it into my computer results in the same deadness. I've tried DFU Mode, Recovery and everything else when plugged into my computer, but it remains dead and black screened. The phone is not picked up at all, it doesn't power on or anything. It only powers on when it is wall charged, but it will bootloop. I can't get past this, and there is no way I can restore it. Help?

Your battery is dead. You will have to replace it see article:
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.

The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.

Using the battery level meter in this manner is comparable to using your car's fuel gauge to calculate miles per gallon. The only thing that matters is the total amount of operating time from full charge to auto-shutdown.
Use the wall-mount charger that came with the iPad and charge overnight.  Do NOT use an iPod/iPhone charger.  Do NOT use a computer's USB port.  Then, operate it normally until auto shut-down (ignore any low level alerts that may appear).  An irony is that doing that test to determine the total operating time is also the procedure necessary to calibrate the battery level meter.
I'm not claiming that you do not have a problem.  I am stating, however, that we don't yet know.  If the above test does, in fact, indicate a problem, read this.
    Also, according to Apple:
    Use Your iPad Regularly
For proper reporting of the battery’s state of charge, be sure to go through at least one charge cycle per month (charging the battery to 100% and then completely running it down).
Elsewhere, Apple elaborates and explains that two half-discharges (or four quarter-discharges, etc.) equals one full discharge.
