Low volume in my laptop

Speaker sounds in my laptop is very low. i tried the enhancement option which was posted earlier in the forum.windows audio driver has been installed.am i supposed to install realtek driver. please help

Hi friend,  @samith123  @lbrou87 I don't get any clue how Installing your realtek audio hd drivers solved the low audio problem. I tried 4 times installing and uninstalling the drivers new ones from realtek website/ drivers given in hp support for this model everything. Still I found audio output is low, that too in my brand new laptop, either you use Headphones/earplugs/Internal Speakers. Same low audio ouput. And sound quality with using realtek drivers or default microsoft not so wow. Unless you modify the EQ (Equalizer settings) in DTS control panel or enhancements i.e Loundness equalization, bass boost etc.  The sound output is totally not crispy and wow. If you pay premium price for getting this laptop with broadwell processor then why not  I'm getting satisfying audio and try to mess with EQ settings everytime. I won't consider the solution in your previous replys.   @samith123  Kindly show me the link which realtek hd audio driver (win8.1x64bit) for this model   solved your low audio output .

  • Low volume, no enhancements tab to fix issue

    Hello
I have a Pavilion g6 HP laptop, running on windows 8.
I am experiencing a problem with very low volume. How can I fix this? I have seen in previous questions that this response has worked for people:
Right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select 'Playback Devices'.  Left click the default device once to highlight it ( it's usually 'speakers & headphones' ) then click the Properties button.  Click the Enhancements tab and put a tick in the box next to 'Loudness Equalization'.  Click Apply to save the change and then click OK in all remaining windows and see if this has helped at all.
However, there is no enhancements tab on my system! Help!
    Thanks

Same problem here.. This problem is from years with the hp laptop speakers and they do nothing... That is very irresponsible.. Well, HP you're gonna release some official fix for that or what? Seriously I'm going to switch to dell because of your useless support.By the way why are you doing a support forum when you DO NOT KNOW the answer of the problems? Huh...

  • HP Split x2 low volume solution?

I have searched and found the question of low volume asked but no answers.
I have gone though all the settings options and nothing changes.   There is sound but it is very difficult to hear even with everything set to 100%.   The test sounds are a very little bit louder than any other audio.
None of the solutions for other laptops work either.
Is it just because the onboard speakers suck?

I have the exact same problem.   It seems to come and go.   Sometimes the sound is very good and then sometimes, it's little more than a whisper.

  • G550 - Low Volume!!!

Ive just purchased a G550 on Windows 7 and the volume is very poor.  It is very low and has no treble to sharpen the sound a little.  Ive tried downloading audio drivers from the Lenovo site and messed about with all the sound settings and it makes hardly any difference to the loudness.  I know that Im not going to get quality sound from a laptop but I expected the loudness to be higher than it currently is at 100%.  The max volume on this laptop is about 50% of any laptop I have ever used which is pathetic really.  Is this a Windows 7 thing or Laptop Specific and is there anything increase this?My last Laptop a Dell Inspiron is excessively loud at 100% whereas this is very low and deep soundinng - what can do to increase the volume higher than the maximum it currently is?

If your G550 uses SmartAudio then check all of the SmartAudio settings in the control panel. Should be right beside the sound on control panel (if you have yours set to small icons)

  • Very low volume on headphone jack on MBP 13" but no red light

Hi I am looking for solution for my problem where in I am currently getting very low volume on headphone jack. There was no problem before, everything used to work perfectly fine.
I couldn't find comprehensive solution for this. Could anyone please point me to the correct thread if solution is already available.
    my details:
MBP 13" Snow leopard, 10.6.5 - First Gen. Unibody MAC.
problem: Very low volume when headphone is connected.
    Things: I have tried:
    1. Headphone is fine. Works correctly on windows PC and on my iphone.
    2. Tried system pref. volume is max.
    3. Upon connecting headphone to MBP it is detected as headphone.
    4. Tried Audio MIDI setup, settings seem to be correct 44.1KHz 2ch-16 bit
    5. There is NO red light from headphone jack.
6 Tried poking toothpicks in to audio out but didn't help.
7 Tried creating new temp. admin user account but headphone low volume remains.
    8. Tried safe boot - no joy.
9 Safe boot was followed by normal boot-> Ran Disk Util tried repair permission. No luck.
    10. Also followed steps to clear PR RAM etc. - problem remains.
    11. Heard about logic board replacement but don't want to go by that route.
Can anyone point me to correct thread or provide the solution..
    help is much appreciated.
    Thanks...

I have the exact same problem. i have  a macbook pro 13in (mid 2009) with extremely low volume coming from headphone jack. i brought the computer into my local apple store today and they diagnosed my problem as being the result of a faulty logic board. my laptop is out of warranty so they have to send it to the apple repair depot for 3-5 days. the charge is a flat $280 (tax not included). the solution seems extreme though and i hope i don't get any "kernel panicking" with a new board. i will update... also there is no accidental damge to my laptop whatsoever. the problem arrose 2-3wks ago

  • Microphone Very Low Volume

    Hi
I have been using my new MXL USB 007 stereo microphone on Windows 7 Professional with clear quality audio for a while now.
On Monday 26 November 2012, I reformatted my PC laptop hard disk and installed Windows 8 Pro.
Now, the quality of the recorded audio is heavily subdued without the clear clarity I used to get. In other words, I am getting very low volume, even though the recording level is on 85 (I tried with 90 as well. 100 has way too much distortion).
As a test, I connected the same microphone to another one of my machines that still has Windows 7 Professional, and the audio result was excellent. So, it’s not the actual microphone.
I have checked the Windows 8 sound settings. It says the device is working properly. There is only the Levels to adjust and under the Advanced tab, I have 2 channel, 16 bit, 48 kHz, DVD quality - same as before on Windows 7.
Is there some setting or something else I should do on Windows 8 to get decent sound again?
    Any ideas? Please help ....
    Thank you.

I have reinstalled Windows 8 Pro twice, both times formatting the disk.
The first time, I connected the microphone immediately after the OS install.
The second time, I connected the microphone only after all Windows Updates and device drivers were applied.
In both cases, the problem of very low input volume remains.
I searched online, and found somebody else has the same problem with a different vendors microphone.
    I quote from:
    http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/1251-73-microphone-input
"I use Cakewalk for sound processing and have discovered that my Samson CO1U
microphone has almost no input strength under Windows 8. I have tweaked about everything I can imagine. Any ideas? "
On my machine, I looked at Device Manager and found:
From the above screenshot, it seems like the USBAUDIO.sys file is one of several being used.
Unless I am mistaken, all of the sound device driver files for the USB Audio CODEC are Microsoft files.
If so, can we please get a Windows Update on this issue?
    Awaiting in anticipation ....

  • CQ61-413 low volume

My laptop (CQ61) has had very low volume from the internal speakers right from new.  Running W7HP. HP web site help no use at all.  Anyone else experienced the same?

the volume on Macbook Pro's stinks..it is very unsatisfactory.  Someone in here suggested this app Boom from the app store.  I just purchase it a few days ago and it is very well worth it.  It makes the speakers much louder.

  • Guitar audio drop-out at lower volumes

I have tried out mainstage on a friends macbook pro, to check if it will be worth an investment into Logic over Garageband, mainly as an effects emulator for my guitar so I don't need to worry about amps in my small flat.   I connected through an Edirol UA-5 USB audio interface and while there were some issues with this interface anyway due to the fact I could only use input-1 rather than the Hi-Z Input-2 that I should use, I wanted to check some audio problems I had and see how to fix them.
Basically, at full volume on my guitar it seems to work fine, but as soon as I turn the guitar volume knob down there is literally no sustain anymore, I can hear a brief note and then it just cuts out, no gradual loss just stops.   If I only plug the interface in without mainstage then the monitor channel gives me the full volume control I expect and I tried my guitar on a proper external amp and it seemes to be fine so i've eliminated my guitar as the problem.
Anyone experienced this or have any suggestions to try to get it to work.
Also, if I use garage band I don't hear the output fromt he amp/effects simulators, only raw guitar and I only hear the final version if I record it and then play it back.  Is there a way to get Garage band to act as a amp/fx simulator in a live mode like mainstage does or is the fact mainstage is playing back through the interface what might be causing the problems in some feedback loop??   Beginning to think an iRig would have been a better option......

    Hi
Sounds like you may have a Noise Gate in there somewhere?
    CCT
yeah I thought of that but couldn't see anything, and think my knowledge of what a noise gate would do is slightly rusty since I assumed that at louder volumes it would clip and at lower volumes it would be fine....i'll have a play next time I am over my friends and see if I can spot anything.
    Thanks for the quick reply.

  • Seemingly low volume for X-Fi Xtrememu

Today, the second time I booted up my computer I began to receive an interesting problem. My audio worked to some extent, but the volume was exceedingly low. I had to put my ear right next to the speakers to hear anything. I pulled out my headphones and plugged them in -- Same result, low volume. When I disabled the X-Fi and enabled my onboard audio, the volume was crystal clear and worked perfectly fine. I didn't change any software, drivers, hardware, or anything of that sort within the two reboots either.
I checked the obvious and made sure my volume was high in the X-Fi configuration panel, the windows panel, and my media players. Everything was maxed out. When I turned up my volume to the maximum on my speakers I could hear things better, but it was horribly distorted and sounded as if they were being over dri'ven. Normally I never have to increase the volume on the speakers much to hear anything, their usually on about 20-30% and I hear them perfectly fine.
I posted about this before on another site and It was recommended I try installing the latest drivers. So I decided to do an uninstall of the X-Fi drivers for good measure and, after rebooting, I installed the drivers and rebooted once more as it prompted me. The same exact result as before: sound that seems to have very low volume. After this, they recommended I try a different PCI slot as it may be damaged. I tried the other PCI slot and I had the same exact results as before. I did not want to install the card into the slot right next to my video card because it looked like the fan would be right up against the PCB of the X-Fi and that it might impede air flow and cause both cards to overheat.
Does anyone know what might be the problem? I'm using the latest drivers I saw (September 9th I believe) and the X-Fi has worked great for the past week and a half. I really don't want to have to own a $00 paperweight and revert to onboard audio.
Edit: If it helps any, I'm running on the following:
    Asus A8N32 SLI Deluxe
    AMD Opteron 70
    X-Fi Xtrememusic
    GeForce 7900 GT
If you need any other info, i'll post it.Message Edited by Sagekilla on 0-22-2006 2:9 PM

Bump.. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? I've made a list of all the fixes I've attempted
    - Checked the volume in Creative's console, the Windows volume control in my tray bar, and in the Control Panel under "Audio and Sound devices"
    - Made sure default device was the X-Fi
    - Made sure the speakers was plugged in the right spot
    - Made sure the speakers weren't faulty (I tested with a pair of head phones and on my iPod)
    - Made sure I had the latest drivers
    - Did the diagnostic, didn't help
    - Did a system restore that made things worse
    - Switched the PCI slot the sound card was in
    - Tried onboard audio and found the audio there worked fine (I don't want onboard audio and a $00 paper weight though)
    - Made sure onboard audio was uninstalled and disabled
    - Posted on the creative labs forums and got no replies
    - Safe Mode doesn't even recognize the Sound card
I'm pretty sure this isn't something stupid like "Is the volume turned up?"

  • My low volume button doesn't work on my Iphone 4, how can I fix it?

Okay so I dropped my iphone in the parking lot garages of my apartment complex and the ground was cement, when i picked it up the screen wasn't cracked or anything so i thought it was okay but once i started listening to music and I wanted to lower the volume and so I pushed the low volume button but nothing happen....The high volume button works fine but now the low volume button so if you want to lower the volume on my phone now you have to do it manually....Also after the drop i turned off silent mode on the side and the clicking sound wasn't there and I checked in the settings, it said it was on and the volume was on but I heard no clicking sound!!! How can I solve these two problems? Can I go to an Apple Store and let them fix my iphone if I don't have AppleCare?

    Hi there Jaz94,
I would recommend taking a look at the troubleshooting steps found in the article below.

  • No sound vs low volume

I recently experienced the loss of all sound on my phone. It began after I unplugged the ear phones. I could not hear it ring and I could not hear anyone on the line although they could hear me. It was basically dead for about 4 hours or until I plugged the ear phones back in causing something to reset or whatever. It works fine now and Apple asked that I call when it occurs again so that we can try and trouble shoot and narrow the problem. I may have a defective phone.
I do not think this has any correlation with the "low volume" problem that everyone is talking about. I will agree with another writer that the volume is low until you activate the speaker but I have been using the speaker/hands free since the first day so perhaps that is why I have never experienced low volume. I think if the speaker is activated everyone will experience normal sound volume.

Any ideas?
Output volume is set with "Wave" and "Master" controls. Max the Wave and control with Master.
In many cases if PSU is weak --> you get issues of this type. Try to remove (temporarily) devices like CD/DVD, floppy, etc. (just remove power/data cables) to see if PSU is the culprit for your issue.
    Also, have you checked/tried
    - audio HW acceleration and SR conversion quality --> set both max
    - audio codecs --> reinstallation can be helpful
    - muted all other sources but the one(s) you're using (i.e. all other sources can be muted if only playing audio files)
    - digital output only set properly (speaker settings/THX console)
    - speakers connected as should (2/2. --> green jack, etc.) and plugs properly pushed in
    - speakers set correct (2/2., 4/4., 5., 6/6., 7.)
    - used different output device drivers on audio players (DS/MME/WDM/...)
    - ASIO capable player --> shows if you have sound driver issue (creative/windows)
    - reinstalled directX, WMP (updates audio codecs)
    - etc.

    Lower volume button not working

Take it to the Genius Bar while you are still under warranty and they should be able to fix it.  I went, one day after my warranty expired.  While they confirmed the problem in my iPhone 5, they said it would be $269 to fix.  The tech did helpfully show me how there's a much less convenient softkey workaround using General >Accessibility > AssistiveTouch.  Not happy about it.
