Lower audio quality using iphone

listen to this quite strange thing: some of my mp3 files, played with my iphone 4s, have busted/broked low tones. then i tried to see if a friend's iphone had the same problem: with an usb, i put one of the files in his computer, then through itunes inside the iphone and: same thing. low tones are distorted.
not surrender, i tried to send to another friend's iphone 4s the file in question by email. misterriously the sound was pretty good. as final test, i auto sent the file by email to me and: my iphone played it good (it appears on the screen a quicktime logo, and he plays the song remaining in the email app).
i specify that not all the song with many low tones have the problem on my (and my friends) iphone. just some of them.
any explanation or solution?!?!?!
thanks to you all.

I have new Factory Unlocked iPhone 5 with new earphones. These earphones are pretty smooth while listening to music. When it comes to making calls there is lot of noise background or a sort of amplifier sound and both the ends the audio is not clear. Did any one face this issue with new earphones with iPhone 5? if so, what is the solution for this? Can any one help me resolving this issue as I am the extensive user of iPhone 5 with new earphones? Thanks in advance.

  • Problem with audio quality using Record Audio Comment

I am recording audio comments in Adobe Acrobat Professional using the "Record Audio Comment" tool. The sound quality is bad--very scratchy and has a noisy hum. I am using a good USB headset/microphone. Recordings outside of Acrobat are fine, e.g., in Audacity. I have tried two different microphones with both Acrobat 8 and 9 on two different computers (a desktop and a laptop) with similar results.
I have not found an audio quality setting in Acrobat. Is there some way to improve the audio quality when recording comments? I suspect Acrobat is compressing the audio so much in order to save file size, however, the poor quality makes it almost unusable.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions or advice. I know I can record outside of Acrobat and then add the pre-recorded audio as a comment, but that defeats the purpose.

Sorry to hear you are having problems.
A few things you can try:
    1. Turning the volume of your TV up too high during a call can cause the kinds of audio problem you describe. Try turning the TV volume down and this should stop the 'feedback' problems you are having.
    2. If you are using external speakers, then try switching these off and using the speakers built in to the TV. The TV was originally tested for Skype using the TV's internal speakers, so if you have a soundbar or other external speakers connected, the audio performance may suffer on Skype calls.

  • Very low audio quality after amber update

After installing amber update audio quality and volume has dropped significantly! Volume through speakers is alot lower, and when plugged into headphones audio lacks quality and depth. There is barely any bass and volume is very low, sounds like listening to a clock radio very disappointing, as audio quality on my 920 was very very good the best of any phone so far before amber update!

i haven't noticed that with my 920. have you tried performing a soft reset and also check that you are up to date with all the latest Nokia system app updates from the Store?

  • Low fax quality using fax as a system printer

    1. The fax quality and resolution using the original setup as a printer is very low.
I can't see the reason because it's all done without printing, a digital file format tranforming.
    2. How can I approach the fax manager not when printing a new fax?

    Hey there @Kroi!
Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!
I would be happy to provide some help regarding your Officejet 4500 and the fax resolution.  On the printer you should be able to set the fax resolution to fine or very fine and make the fax lighter or darker.  Once those settings are inputted you should be able to save them as a default on the printer.
To change the fax settings press the fax icon on the printer.  In the fax menu you should be able to scroll to fax resolution and press OK.  Under fax resolution you should be able to choose from fine, very fine, photo and standard.  I recommend choosing fine or very fine.  You should then be able to scroll to lighter/darker to adjust those settings.  Once the settings are set scroll to "Set New Default and confirm.
Test by sending a fax and see how it goes!
Thanks again for posting and have a great day!

  • Pausing audio playback using iPhone headphones

I love how I can pause, resume, and ffwd any audio/music on my iPhone using the Apple iPhone headphones switch. I am sad this feature was left out of the iPad. I'd like to vote for this feature to be added in the next generation iPads.

  • Problem with audio quality using Vizio WebCam on V...

I'm using an Vizio XCV100 Internet Apps TV Video Camera connected via a USB port on a Vizio model E401I-A2 to Skype with my daughter.   The audio is terrible.  The audio is broken up (comes and goes) and lags behind the video.   Sometimes there is feedback and an ongoing wind noise.   I tried the Skype Echo/audio test and I get some wind noise but nothing like what happens when actually Skyping to daughter.   We have ruled out the other end (daughter's eqmt) which happens to be a Vizio TV and Vizio Camera.  she has no problems Skyping with others or with us using our laptop.   We returned our first Vizio Camera and got another camera and have the same problem!   Very frustrating.  Someone mentioned we may need a filter, etc.   Any and all support greatly appreciated.

  • Audio Conferencing using Cirrus?

    Hi there -
I'm interested in building a small website for my company's development team.  This is the scenario that I would like to achieve:
    1.  Colleague enters website
    2.  Colleague presses "Connect"
    3.  Colleague is connected with any other colleagues that have pressed "Connect"
    4.  Any colleagues Connected can chat using only a microphone I do not wish to support video feed
    5.  Full duplex communication is supported between all colleagues
Is this something I can achieve using Cirrus?  If not, do you have any idea what technologies exist that could make this achievable?
I have found the following website:
    http://www.speakfreely.org/
This seems to do exactly what I want, but I need to create a web service out of this without forcing my colleagues to download something to their computer.
Any tips would be appreciated.  Thank you for your time!

My ReelPortal app does just that, except it also have video (which you don't have to turn on).  Here's a short description:
ReelPortal is a video chat and conferencing software. Designed to work with multiple devices and OSes (Windows, Linux, MacOS, Android, BlackBerry Tablet, etc), its features include:
    * Video conference with multiple friends
    * Create your own private rooms
    * Supports both p2p and client/server connections
ReelPortal is room-centric. You automatically connect to everyone in a room when you enter it. No need to call them individually.
You can run it directly from the web browser on the PC/Mac/Linux, at www.reelportal.com.  You can even download the server, and run it within your own intranet.  But if you don't like it, you can certainly implement your own via Flash/AIR.
As for audio quality, using headset is probably the best, but if you really need speakerphone, I'd suggest get a decent Bluetooth Speakerphone, like the Motorola EQ7 or EQ5, at a very affordable price.

  • Other people's experience with audio quality

I was wondering what other people's experience has been with audio quality using P2P and/or Hub and spoke with LCCS.   We have a web based and an air based video chat client that we've been testing and so far our results are hit or miss (for both 2 way P2P and 3 way H&S).   We've been testing with hardware AEC, and without using headphones, with internal and external mics but I still get a lot of chopiness and it can be difficult to undertand each other even in a two way P2P call.
I know mileage will vary depending on how good the network connection is, but we're also using gmail's video chat right after as a control and the difference is night and day ( I know they have better audio codecs with variable bit rates and other fancy things etc etc.).  To be fair sometimes it sounds great even across country, but most times it's tough to understand one another.
Just wondering if everyone else was having similar problems or perhaps I'm missing something important here.  Any feedback is welcome.
    Thanks,
    -Eric

We are also running in a live site with mostly US to US participants although we have done early trials with clients in the UK as well. We also use the platform internally to host our team standup meetings and it works relatively well as long as everyone has reasonable bandwidth available to support all of the streams and everyone if wearing a headset to avoid echo...
We set up standard values for video and mic settings that we think work well for different connection speeds as well as expose both networking/bandwidth statistics as well as mic/video controls for making fine adjustments if an endpoint is experiencing quality issues. It all seems to work fairly well - if only we could get some sort of AEC in place then we could ditch the headphones and make it a whole lot better...
settings that we adjust on Camera include keyframeInterval and quality
settings that we adjust on Audio include gain, encodeQuality, framesPerPacket, silenceLevel, and echoSuppression
additionally we expose for monitoring network connection type, lccs connection type, available stream bandwidth, current video bandwidth, video frames dropped, audio stream bandwidth and audio frames dropped. These values are from the audio and video netStreamInfo objects as well as the connectSession streamManager and userManager (to get the connection type from a user's userDescriptor).
You should be able to adjust the various settings based on the user's connection type in order to optimize individual performance. I seem to remember that there was some sample that showed most of this, but I don't remember where that was...

  • IMac 27 - very poor quality audio when using analogue headphone output

    Hi,
I've had my iMac 27 (i7 quad core, early 2010, OS X 10.6.4), hooked up to my hi-fi via the headphone output jack (analogue) since i bought the machine a few months ago, and its worked fine. However, the audio quality has suddenly deteriorated. The volume is very low, meaning that I can only hear anything if I turn up my hi-fi volume all the way, and then the sound is distorted (as you'd probably expect). Turning up the volume on say, iTunes, whist playing a track, combined with turning up the iMac's output volume does cause an increase in overall volume, but it only makes the difference between totally inaudible and very quiet! Its as if there is some internal output- level setting within the iMac that has 'stuck' at a very low setting!
Troubleshooting actions carried out so far:
Removing the audio cable from the iMac's headphone socket allows the Imac to play via its own internal speakers, and this works fine! (The sound is good, volume is decent, no distortion). So, its just the headphone audio that is affected!
I've verified the sound settings in system preferences. They look fine.
I've performed several soft and hard reboots (with up to 24-hours separating power-off/power-on cycles), but to no avail.
I've booted into Windows XP (bootcamp) and the same audio problem persists (so its not the O/S that's causing the issue).
I've checked the cable and my hi-fi by removing the 3.5mm terminating plug from the imac and sticking into my mp3 player's headphone jack. All works fine. I then inserted the 3.5mm plug plug into my laptop's headphone jack. Again, perfect sound reproduction through my hi-fi. I then returned the plug to the imac's headphone socket and the audio problem re-surfaced, so its definitely the imac that is at fault.
I've ran the extended hardware tests too - no faults found.
I reckon its a hardware fault, but just wondered if anyone else had experienced the same problems?
Incidentally, my Imac is well within its 12-month warranty, but the complimentary 90-day Applecare cover has expired. Looks as if I'm going to have to make an appointment with a 'Genius', but I didn't want to go through the hassle of transporting the system unless necessary. Thankfully, I've had none of the other widely reported quality issues, and apart from this audio problem the machine has performed flawlessly.
    Kind regards.

I have 30 new imacs running Snow Leopard. They replace 30 emacs that were running panther. I have 30 headsets (labtech) that worked beautifully with my emacs. Used them so my kids could create imovie projects using imovie 6. Well all that has changed with my new imacs. I went to use imovie 9 today and what a disaster. NONE of the headsets would work as they had on the emacs. The kids had to wiggle the plugs and that would sometimes create sound out of one channel, no channels, or would create a crackling sound. Worse than that is that it would give the kids the spinning beach ball. They would unplug the headsets and after about 1 minute imovie would return to normal. I took some of the headsets and tried them out on an emac I have in the room and they all work. I tried them on my macbook pro and they all work. So, it is not wiring or a plug. The sound prefs are setup correctly. Any suggestions? Has anyone else experienced this problem? Here I have new imacs which will allow more sophisticated projects with the iLife apps, but can't use them due to inoperable headsets. I have tried three different brands of headsets and 2 of them will not work at all. These were brand new imacs - right out of the box, and brand new headsets. This is very frustrating to me and the students.
Any help would be appreciated. How can apple not design a fully functioning headphone jack as they have in the past?

  • IPhone 5 Poor Headphone Audio Quality

I got my iPhone 5 a few days ago and I must say the sound I'm getting from my iPhone 5 to my headphones is pure garbage.
I use Beats By Dre heaphones and when I listen to music on my Mac and other devices the audio quality is great, but when I listen to music from my iPhone 5 to my headphones, I hear excessive rattling over the vocals of the music I listen to. I'm assuming it might be the Music app's fault, since I listen to songs from the YouTube App as crystal clear as I do from my Mac from iTunes. I have the same problem with my EarPods: They sound great on anything but my iPhone 5 Music app. Is there any fix possible? Is there any Music app alternative I can try? I'm tired of searching for the songs I want to hear on YouTube everytime to get good sound quality...In short:
Sound quality from the Music app: Really poor quality, I can't stand it.
Sound quality from anywhere else on my iPhone: Crystal Clear
Does anyone get the same problem/complaint from their iPhone 5's?
Side Note: I do purchase my music from iTunes, so I should get good sound quality.

Hey, I recently discovered that when I purchase music from iTunes directly to my iPhone, the sound I get is crystal clear. Do the test with any song: Listen to it before downloading the song from iTunes > Delete it > Download from iTunes from your iPhone > Listen again.
The problem is that not all my music is from iTunes, most of my music comes from CDs. Another thing I must point out is that I can't figure out whether to blame the new Lightning Connector or iTunes from my Mac, since I thought Wi-Fi Sync would solve the problem but I see no changes at all with the music I didn't purchase from my iPhone 5

  • Bose headphones iphone 6 buzzing, tinny audio quality

    Hi!
I've been using my Bose Quietcomfort15 headphones with my iPhone 6 with no problems, but this morning the headphones only put out a buzzy, tinny version of any song, it's hard to hear voices in songs or on voicemail, and even the "ping!" for email notifications is off-kilter. The headphones have new batteries and they work just fine with my computer. The iPhone is charged, updated to iOS 8.2, and all audio quality is fine through the phone's speakers and through Apple earbuds plugged into the audio jack.  All components seem to be fine- they just stopped working together.  Any idea what this could be?

Audiobooks are currently a one-time only download from the store. If you don't have it on your computer (audiobooks go into the Books part of your iTunes library) nor on a backup, then if it's still in the store you can try contacting iTunes support and see if they will grant you a re-download : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page
