Lower Case File Names on 5D iii?

Can I modify the filing naming on the 5D iii so that it is all lower case rather than uppercase? If that's not possible, it is at least possible to change the extension from JPG to jpg?

The file name on the EOS 5D Mark III has four alphanumeric characters followed by a four-digit image number and extension. The first four characters are set upon factory shipment and unique to the camera.
However, you can change them. With [USER SETTING 1], you can change and register the four characters as desired. With [USER SETTING 2], if you register three characters, the fourth character from the left will be appended automatically to indicate the image size. Please follow these steps to access these settings:
Press the MENU button
Select the [Tools #1] tab.
Select [File Name].
Select [Change User Setting 1] or [Change User Setting 2].
Enter any alphanumeric characters.

UPPER and lower case file names problem on CD

Hello,
I have a CD which contains, in web page format, the contents of a bibliographical work formerly published on paper. The link codes in all these web pages use lower case filenames. Unfortunately, the files on the disk are a mix with some of them in uppercase, i.e. AD4.HTM and some in lower case, i.e. intro.htm.
This disk used to work, under OS 9 in Internet Explorer. But now, under OS X 10.4.11 and using either Safari or Firefox, I'm getting Page Not Found errors whenever the filename is uppercase.
I could copy all the files off the CD to my hard drive and run a renamer utility to change all of them to lower case. But I have another CD from the same publisher -- same problem -- and may get more, and I don't particularly want all those files on my drive anyway. There's a lot of them!
Is there any kind of setting -- perhaps accessible through one of those arcane terminal commands for setting hidden preferences -- which would allow me to tell the Finder (or maybe Safari or Firefox) to not care about the case of the filenames?
Note that I can change the case of a local HTML file and either browser can still find it. This is only happening on the CD.

I don't think I'll try that one. The most recent update of SheepShaver was slightly over 2 years ago, which indicates to me that the developer is busy doing other things.
I'm very conservative in what I'll install into my system, and old, one-developer software does not fit my standards.
If no other answer comes up, I think I'll copy the files to my hard drive, rename them, then write out a CD with the renamed files and use that one instead. Of course the original CD may contain copy protection features which will prevent this -- I haven't tried it yet.

UPPER and lower case file extensions for Photo Shop Elements using Windows 7

How do I persuade WIndows 7 to show both UPPER and lower case file extensions, which is a very useful facility offered by my ancient, 2002, version of Photoshop Elements? When processing large volumes (100 plus) photos it is very useful to be able to spot those that have been processed among those awaiting my gentle touch. The JPEG file extension produced by my camera is UPPER case so by using "Save as" with lower case the modified photos are immediately spotted. This worked fine on Windows XP and the same programme has loaded and works well on my new laptop which came loaded with Windows 7 EXCEPT that it persists in using UPPER case all the time, irrespective of the preference settings in PSE. HELP!

In PSE there is a facility "File > process multiple files".
Using this facility you can actually process multiple files at one go and you can easily rename images.

Can anyone please let me know if it is possible to generate pdf names in capital in linux/unix env?? I am able to generate it fine in windows but it always generates in lower in unix.

No, all files used or produced by Documaker on unix platforms will be lower case. Of course, there's nothing to prevent you from renaming the PDF file after it is produced.

Lower case tag names in XSQL query

XSQL queries appear to default all column tag names to upper case, even when you specifically use lower case characters. Is there any way to get them into lower case?
For example,

You can also preserve case by putting quotes around the column alias:
For example,
<?xml version="1.0"?>
<test connection="devel" xmlns:xsql="urn:oracle-xsql">

, 'Hello' as "Hi"
, 'HELLO' as "HI"

This way you can also get mixed case.

Generate lower-case nodes in XML

In my PL/SQL procedures, I generate XML files based on SQL queries, like this:

As you can see, I rename my column names to their lower-case equivalents, because the client-side application which processes the XML file expects them to be in lower-case.
I now have a huge view with hundreds of columns and would like to avoid having to rename each one. Is there a chance I can tell the PL/SQL or the SQL to return the XML nodes in lower-case?
I'll appreciate any help on this problem.

Changing time stamp format in the file receiver adapter file name

Hi all,
How can we change the standard date time stamp from
filename_yyyymmdd-hhmmss-mil
to
filename_yymmdd_hhmmss
i.e., I want "underscores" instead of "hyphens" and also I do not want the MilliSeconds.
I read in the forums that I have to use the combination of variable substitution and mapping functions to do this, but not sure how exactly.
Can the experts help me with this please?

     You can make this possible using runtime filename creation using UDF.
Please go though the below steps.
Message mapping:
Create an UDF and include the piece of code that captures the Filename and Timestamp from source side via ASMA.
Modify them according to our requirement by adding the <Timestamp> at the end of <filename> with _.
Map the UDF to any of the top level node so that the modified filename will be available for the target communication channel

Conversation lower case to upper case by default not wanted

Oracle converts lower case table names and columns names to upper case by default. To keep lower case letters names must be quoted. This "work around" is not acceptable.
Is there a way to change this behavior either for the database or for a session?

Users are familiar with reading column names like
"RxCellsHec0Clp0" instead of "RXCELLSHEC0CLP0".
Yes, there are users working directly with sql.If the users are used to putting the column name in double-quotes, then creating the table with identifiers in double-quotes will conform to the expected behaviour. That simply means that each and every reference to the table requires double-quote around the identifiers.
And it is quite impossible to get them changing all their queries
from select RxCellsHec0Clp0 from ...
to select "RxCellsHec0Clp0" from ...One alternative is to wrap every table (of concern) with a view. My thought would be to leave the table with upper case identifiers, have the view with mixed-case identifiers, and use private synonyms to redirect the user to the view.
The assumptions are
1) user-oriented security is in place
2) users use the quoted-identifier syntax

Oracle b2b not preserving file name

I have a requirement that my trading partner will send files over AS2 which I have to deliver to other application. In my case file name is important and I have to preserve the file name whatever my TP is sending.
I have created all the things like remote TP , AS2 channel,agreement etc and I can receive the file over AS2. in b2b console it's showing the file is received successfully.Even I can see the file name in the wire message

Probem scenrio 1:
I have created a file channel in my host trading partner and I have incorporated that file channel in the in the agreement but b2b is generating file with it's own naming convension(e.g. if TP sending the file name as abc.txt but b2b is generating as MCKESSON_MC_FixedLengthDocs_MC_CustomDocVer1.0_1_0A6004221375839D239000005EC36F4B-1.dat)
Probem scenrio 2:
I have not mentioned any delivery channel for my host TP in the agreement and the message is coming in B2B_IN_QUEUE jms queue and I can see the file name in a JMS property(key/value pair).
ACTION_NAME contentType:text/plain; name=EDI.FCSMFCSMSAPT_RTN1205010000.txt;filename:EDI.FCSMFCSMSAPT_RTN1205010000.txt
But when I have created a JMS channel (with my custom JMS queue) in my host trading partner and have incorporated that JMS channel in the in the agreement I can't see the above propery though the message is getting enqueued in the queue. I can see a bunch of jms properties except the ACTION_NAME.
I can't use B2B_IN_QUEUE as it is being used by other applcations.
Please urgently help.

Saved passwords although upper and lower case when displayed in the list of saved passwords transfer to the appropriate location as lower case only.

running windows 7 64bit pro
Geico website is the only place where we have upper and lower case user name
current version firefox 6.0.2

Make sure that you haven't saved Uppercase and Lowercase versions of that name and password.
Remove saved Password(s):

Case Insensitive File Names in Sender File Adapter

Hi,
I've tried my best to search SDN on this issue with no help...
My sender file name can have any case (upper or lower) e.g.
ABC_123.txt
or
ABc_345.txt
or
aBC_456.txt
However configuring the file name in the sender file channel as 'ABC*' did not work
only files with name starting with the capital letters ABC got picked up and lower case did not get picked up...
any suggestions on how this can be overcome

XML element names required in lower case

Hi,
I am on release 4.6C
I create an XML file from internal table using FM SDIXML_DATA_TO_DOM and SDIXML_DOM_TO_XML.
The internal table is defined such that the fieldnames of internal table are same as element names in XML file.
The XML file gets created properly, but the element names appear in upper case.
The requirement is to have it in lower case.
Does anybody have any idea about how to control the case here?

you can convert field names manually using translate command to convert it to lower case.

UTL_FILE & User Input: Case Sensitive File Names

I'm trying to reduce problems due to the whether the user uses upper or lower case or combo of them in entering file names.
Scenario is:
Existing file to be read: Orig_File.Txt (file name changes daily)
Output to be saved into file: RESULTS_FILE.TXT
In response to PL/SQL commands (please see below), the user enters:
ORIG_FILE.TXT and Results_FILE.txt
as the Input & Output file names. The problem is that the input file has been saved using Upper and Lower case and I get back a file not found error.
Is there a way to call a file with is a different case than the input?

A shell script would typically issue something along the lines of
newfile=$(ls -C1 | grep -i "\<${filename}\>")although of course it is possible for this to match multiple filenames, so it would have to check for that scenario and report it as an error. possibly you could call a shell script like this from PL/SQL via Java or DBMS_SCHEDULER. Good luck with that though.

Case Sensitive File Names

I've been trying out the trial version of RH8, before
upgrading from RH7. One of the problems I have noticed is the
option to "Use Lowercase File Names (Recommended for UNIX)" in the
Single Source Layouts setting, only works for actual pages in the
project. As i have a number of PDF's as baggage files (that now get
indexed), when they are returned in the search results, I just get
a "Not Found" error. This is because it is not correctly putting
the folder names or file names in lower case.
Does anyone know a solution or workaround for this? (aside
from renaming all files/folders!). Or know where I can submit this
as a bug?

As a workaround, you could try renaming your baggage files - for
example File.pdf to file1.pdf and then to file.pdf. You'd need ot
delete and add the baggage file references though. An alternative
is to exclude the baggage file type from the search. You can find
out how to do this from the latest post on my blog.

File Name Case Sensitivity in JDeveloper

A few months back I discovered that I could not create and compile an application on our common network drive because it forced all file names to uppercase. (Gotta love VMS). JDeveloper would get a compile error on the app_name-jazn-data.xml file. We put in a TAR on the issue, which Oracle was more than able to recreate. Solution was not to use a drive that forced everything to uppercase. Since JDeveloper creates the .xml file in question, I could not modify the name of it in any code. I was able to create and compile an application on our common web application network drive though without problems. This drive forces everything to lowercase. (Gotta love Unix)
In creating ADF Business Components and a JSF JSP, I found that JDeveloper creates the file names in both upper and lower case and it adheres to this in the application. Thus I am unable to compile my .java files on our common web application network drive. I recreated the application on my C: drive without problems.
Since I do not create these files or enter anything in to create them, I currently have no control over how JDeveloper creates them.
Is there something in JDeveloper that I can modify so that all file names will be in a particular case? Or, is there somewhere the file names are stored so that they can be changed?
We really want to use JDeveloper for our development, but have some major deployment problems because of this issue.

I am probably missing a point here, but mixed case is not a feature or bug in JDeveloper. Any other Java IDE will do the same. If you want to use ADF BC, ADF Faces, etc. you must be able to create and save files with mixed case names. Many of those files are generated by JDeveloper, and sometimes you have no control over their names
There must be something wrong with your mapped drive on the unix machine... Why istalling and developing everything on your local drive is not an option?

Ok, after reading this thread one more time, I probably understand the issue. You use the shared network drive for team development, right? and you want all the sources to be accessible by the team, right? If this is the case, then CVS is the answer to your problem , as mentioned in the previous post. You may want to google cvs, to learn more about team development environment, and its integration with Jdeveloper and other IDEs
