  • Can get lower case letters when using bios

    I purchased a used macbook air.  Changed the user to me but never changed the old user password.  I recently autorize an update and I can't get in without a password.  I never changed the old user password and newer assigned a password to my name.  Now I can't get in.  I tried going to the bios but I only cant type upper case letters and no lower case letters.  Can someone help me as to how I can type lower case letters when I start the bios?

    Unfortunately this is often the case, particularly if the field is not properly identified as a password field, and is true for both Web pages as well as (poorly designed) BlackBery applications.
    I've just gotten into the habit of typing the first letter of my password, then hitting the [Del] key, then typing in my full password all the time!

  • My new MacBookPro makes a low grinding noise when starting from shutdown. It interferes with the normal startup music. Is this normal or should I take it back to the store, please? Thank you. Colin.

    My MacBookPro makes a low grinding sound when it starts up from shutdown. Is this normal or should I return it to the store. The sound is not unlike the CD drive starting in my old computer. It kind of creeks. Thank you. Colin.

    If it is a brief sound, perhaps a half second in duration, it may very well be the OS checking the internal optical drive.  That is part of the OS startup process which is normal.  Start your MBP and put your ear next to the optical drive and see if this is the case.

  • Strange noises when ipod touch power plugged and headphones cable connected

    Hi everybody,
    this is my first post. It has been annoying me for a long time now.
    The thin is, when I plug in the ipod via charger or USB cable and I want top listen to music while it charges i get this crackling noise and a high pitch one as background atmosphere which is ok if you listen to loud music but very annoying if you listen to calm music.
    I want to connect it to my stereo and i found out that when I disconnect the power cable its allright. When I put the audio cable on the metal sufrace I just get the crackling noise without the pitch and when its plugged into usb and connected to my ipod I can modify the noise when i scroll on the touchpad. Its like scraching on vinyls but not cool.
    I don't know what to do. I mean sometimes you want to listen to music AND charge your ipod right?
    Has this happend to anyone?
    Best regards

    Well thanks for pointing me to that feature, I didn't notice it before, but nobody there really has the same problem.
    They are complaining about not being able to charge and listen at the same time. This is histroy since iOS5.
    I shure can listen to my music. And for example via bluetooth its no problem being connected and listen to music, even while I sychronize. But if I plug in the audio jack, and have the ipod charging I get this noises.
    I hope the problem is now more precisely described.

  • Strange noise when iPod Touch doesn't play music...

    hello dear board members
    I have a weird problem with my brand new iPod Touch. As soon as there is no music
    playing, I have noise in my earphones. This vanishes if I just mute the music. I wonder
    wether this is a hardware probleme, i.e. interference of some kind. It's not very loud, but
    it drives me crazy and I think this is not normal, is it? What could I do to remove this, or will
    it be necessary to send in my ipod?
    best
    yoveo

    right now I'm using just the standard apple earphones. With my sony headphones,
    it's a lot less noticeable. It's just that with my old 2nd gen iPod I didn't have this hissing.
    I just find it weird that the headphone jack outputs a signal when there s no music playing.

  • My ipod5 make noise like a sticky noise when i touch my screen

    plz i need to know how to fix it

    You may have the accessibility VoiceOver feature turned on.
    Triple click the home button and try going to Settings>General>Accessibility and turn VoiceOver off. You may have to use three fingers to scroll the screen to get there. If problems see:
    iPhone: Configuring accessibility features (including VoiceOver and Zoom)
    If not then
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
    Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
    least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
    Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
    All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
    If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • What causes popping noise when I touch iPad 4 screen?

    I notice that intermittently, my iPad 4 screen makes a popping sound or like an electric snap sound. What causes this?

    You mean a sound different than the normal 'click'?  And only in certain areas of the screen?  What areas?  And are the areas the same regardless of what function you're using onthe phone, regardless of what app you're using?
    This seems like it coud be a hardware issue with the display.  Try the following steps.
    Restart the device. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
    Reset the device. (Same article as above.)
    Restore from backup. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766 (If you don't have a backup, make one now, then skip to the next step.)
    Restore as new device. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137  For this step, do not re-download ANYTHING, and do not sign into your Apple ID.
    Test the issue after each step.  If the last one does not resolve the issue, it is likely a hardware problem.

  • Why doesn't the keyboard display lower case when this is selected?

    Why doesn't the keyboard display lower case characters when these are selected?

    The same reason physical keyboards have capital letters, easier to read. If the iPad keyboard is in caps you'd know because the Shift key would be colored blue.

  • Can I make the keyboard display lower case letters?

    Sorry for possibly a totally n00bie question....I'm completely new to Apple products. I just bought my first Apple product yesterday, iPad Air (full size).
    My question is in regard to the virtual keyboard. It displays the letters in upper case, so it makes it difficult to determine between upper and lower when I press the shift key because it doesn't look any different.
    Is there a way to make the keyboard display lower case letters when in lower case mode and vica versa for upper case?

    In my opinion, this is still one the silliest oversights in design by Apple.  They can make the little switch button on flashlight icon in the control tray toggle between up and down, but they can't toggle the case of the letters to reflect the status of the Shift key?  Seriously...without actually using your phone, can you tell me which icon represents Shift being enabled?  Is it the black arrow with the white background or the white arrow with the grey background?

  • Changing all caps text to lower case in PSE 7 ?

    I have PSE 7.0, and am trying to add text to an image.  When I add the text, and type it in all in
    lower case, the text appears in all capitals, in text layer, and changing
    my keyboard caps lock doesn't make any difference.
    However, in the layers summary box on the right side of  screen, the text appears in lower case - but when I save, or print etc, it always shows in all capitals!
    Does anyone know any more about text editing in PSE 7.0?
    Thanks so much!
    Sasha

    First of all be sure the font you're using has small letters and not just caps. If it does, then click the tiny triangle at the far left of the options bar and choose Reset Tool.

  • How do I correct the arrow keys to change from lower case to higher case

    The arrow ,   shift key,  will not allow me to change from upper to lower case letters when in I Tunes.    the arrow keys seem to work in every other application.  I cannot properly enter a password  to enter I Tunes.  I reset the password from my note book and the password works.  only the I pad and I tunes are giving me fits.
    charliecache

    the pop-up box comes up just as you said. i then type in the corrected artist's name. i click 'ok', expecting the updated info to appear on the main iTunes library list
    As you have discovered, changing the info on the CD after you have RIP'd it will not change any of teh songs you RIP'd.
    If you select the CD in iTunes and update the info before you RIP the songs, they will go into iTunes with this new info.
    In addition, the CD will display this info if/when you reinsert it into this computer.
    If you only change the RIP'd songs in iTunes, they will display the updated info but if you reinsert the CD, it will display the previous info.
    Best way to do it is to rename the files on the CD before you RIP.

  • Keep lower-case in FM

    Hi
    I have made a FM, where the input is in lower-case, but inside the FM-code the parameters are converted to uppercase.
    The FM looks like this:
    FUNCTION Z_MY_FM.
    *"*"Local Interface:
    *"  IMPORTING
    *"     REFERENCE(REKV) TYPE  AD_TEXT_CS
    *"     REFERENCE(REF) TYPE  AD_TEXT_CS
    *"     REFERENCE(KONTO) TYPE  AD_TEXT_CS
    *"  EXPORTING
    *"     VALUE(XREKV) TYPE  AD_TEXT_CS
    *"     VALUE(XREF) TYPE  AD_TEXT_CS
    *"     VALUE(XKONTO) TYPE  AD_TEXT_CS
    *"     VALUE(XSUBRC) TYPE  SUBRC
      a_ordre = rekv.  "<-- allready here the rekv is in uppercase
      a_ref   = ref.
      a_konto = konto.
    The TYPE AD_TEXT_CS is for lower-case.
    When I start to run the FM, it is in lower-case, but when i reach the line a_ordre = rekv - the value in rekv is in uppercase.
    If I run the tcode SE37
    Insert the FM name Z_MY_FM
    and check the box "Uppercase/Lowercase",
    Then there isn't any problems...
    Can anybody help me how to keep the input in lower-case?

    Hi,
    I dont think the issue is with the data element AD_TEXT_CS
    I just created a function module in my system here :
    FUNCTION ZTEST_FUNC_PARAMETER.
    *"*"Local interface:
    *"  IMPORTING
    *"     REFERENCE(TEXT) TYPE  AD_TEXT_CS
    *"  EXCEPTIONS
    *"      BLANK_INPUT
    I called this function from a progran and passed the value 'New York' . It retained the value as it is.
    CALL FUNCTION 'ZTEST_FUNC_PARAMETER'
      EXPORTING
       text              = 'New york'
    * EXCEPTIONS
    *   BLANK_INPUT       = 1
    *   OTHERS            = 2
    IF sy-subrc <> 0.
    * MESSAGE ID SY-MSGID TYPE SY-MSGTY NUMBER SY-MSGNO
    *         WITH SY-MSGV1 SY-MSGV2 SY-MSGV3 SY-MSGV4.
    ENDIF.
    Put a break point on the statment call function of your program and make sure it is passing the value correctly while calling the function.
    regards,
    Advait.
