Lower portion of screen insensitive to touch commands

Went to make a call and could not unlock iPhone. A restore using iTunes allowed me to determine that lower portion (60%) of screen will not respond. Attempted hard reset as well but to no avail. All other functions seem to work but inaccessible outside restore window.

Same thing happens with my phone. I've made an appointment twice with people at the Mac store. Neither person could tell me what was wrong, I have also contacted Apple Care twice and have had no luck. It makes no sense to me. The bottom portion works on some buttons but when you try and use the keyboard all the lower buttons don't work. In addition, if I am in Safari and I turn the phone sideways the entire screen works fine even the portion that used to be at the bottom. Kind of bummed the folks at Apple had never heard of this before and offered no solution other than re-store or re-purchase. It makes me hesitant to purchase another one.

I have had my original iPhone since Sept 07, and it has worked perfectly. Today however is a different story. Today I wake up and look at my iPhone, because I want to check my e-mail. So I go and click the e-mail icon and nothing happens. I try the phone, safari, and iTunes buttons as well, and none of those are responding to my touch. It seems that it is only affecting that bottom 4 icons (phone, e-mail, internet, and iTunes). If I click on any other icon on any of the 4 pages of icons I have, they all work....
Has anyone ever experienced this problem? I already powered the unit down and did a reboot (where the apple logo comes up). None of that fixed this.
Any help would be greatly appreciated....

Can't see songs on lower portion of screen

When i click on an album the songs are not displayed on bottom portion of box--tried to install update, it did not fix problem-somebody please help me!!!

Laura, I called the only number I could find on the site and it was a lady who said she could only help if I was calling about my IPOD, which I don't have. She said there was no number to call for ITune Music Support ... crazy... but if you have better success, please let us know !! I am surprised they don't at least have SOMEONE monitoring these discussion boards so they can respond to multiple problems of the same sort.

Occasional problem with the lower part of screen not recognizing touches??

Has anyone else had a problem when sliding the bar to unlock the phone or occasionally not being able to access symbols on the keyboard?

This OS (4.2.1.) often locks up for seconds on end. Never happened previously. It becomes completely inert at times. It has made the UI no longer feel transparent. It's now click and wait... Rubbish.

Touch Pad, mouse not working on lower 25% of screen

Have not seen this question, yet. When on a web page, my double tap/left click does not work on about the lower 25% of the page. The scroll arows work, but cannot click or type on the page if in the lower portion of the page. After scrolling up to the middle of the page, then I can click a box or type info with no problem. My drivers are up to date. For example could not click on POST unless I scroll the box up an inch or so.
Using windows 7 and have all service packs & updated.

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have read that your HP Notebook and the touchscreen not working correctly. Here is a fix from Microsoft to resolve the Touchscreen.
he touchscreen shouldn't need recalibration, but if you or another user has recalibrate it, it may affect the performance of the touchscreen.
Here’s how to check or restore the factory default calibration using a keyboard or mouse:
Step 1: Press the Windows logo key Windows logo key + S to open Search.
(If you're using a mouse, point to the upper-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer down, and then click Search Search charm.)
Step 2:Type Control Panel, then use the arrow keys to highlight Control Panel, and press Enter.
(Or, click Control Panel.)
Step 3:In Control Panel, use the arrow keys to highlight Hardware and Sound and press Enter.
(Or, click Hardware and Sound.)
Step 4:Under Tablet PC Settings use the arrow keys to highlight Calibrate the screen for pen or touch input, and press Enter.
(Or, click Calibrate the screen for pen or touch input.)
Step 5:Use the Tab key to select the Reset button, and press Enter.
(Or, click Reset.)
If the Reset button is grayed out, your Surface touch calibration is still at factory settings and you can move to Solution 3.
Step 6:Use the Tab key to select Yes, press Enter, and then follow the instructions on the screen.
(Or, click Yes, and then follow the instructions on the screen.)
Step 7:After Surface removes recalibration data, test touch input again.

IPhone 4 lower left screen insensitivity/oversensitivity

Hello,
My iPhone has the lower left part of the screen that became insensitive (some letters can not be typed in sms mode, for example "a, q, w" on a swiss-french keyboard). At some moment it becomes oversensitive and starts entering a large amount of characters even when the screen is not touched. I did the iOS 4.3 update, restarted everything but without success.
Do you have this problem too? Know how to fix it?

Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps from the tray before doing the reset.
Try deleting and re-adding the account to the Phone.

Have you done the basic troubleshootings steps ? :
Restart:
1. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider.
2. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Note: You will not lose any data
Restore from backup
Restore as new.

the lock symbol has been removed in Firefox 4 and replaced with the [[Site Identity button]]

Have you tried closing the Mail app completely ? From the home screen (i.e. not with the Mail app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then you could try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

It is not even swiched off. the button in the right above side caanot do it. Could you please, help me as soon as possible.

First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.

Touch screen misreading touch commands

I have a bit of a problem with my droid's touch screen. Anytime I touch one thing (Example the U turn arror [Escape]) something on the left side is triggered (while in widescreen position). Tried the same thing and the Current Running programs opens up (as if you were to touch-hold the "Home" icon). After awhile, the entire touchscreen fails to react to any commands. After reboot (via Notes 6 and 7 below), the screen works fine for a few seconds before it presents the same problem as annotated above. Physical keyboard operates properly (including the directional pad). Any guesses as to what may be the cause?

Notes (to cover all bases/questions):
1. Device was never dropped.
2. Device is carried in belt holder (leather case)
3. Device is mounted on window holder in truck when driving (holder never fell).
4. Device is also docked in it's holder when not carried around.
5. No physical scratches, marrs, or damages.
6. Device was rebooted via the Power button/Power Off command (via directional pad).
7. Device was cold booted (Power button/Power Off command, removed and reinserted battery).
8. Screen was cleaned as per directions in the manual.
9. Physical keyboard and directional pad operates just fine.

usually the battery pull cures alot of things that occur to the android phone.
well, now it just sounds like a faulty screen. you might have to take it in. hope you have insurance. and good luck

IMac Cursor moving to lower right of screen.

iMac 2.8GHz Intel Core i7
Was working ok. Today, Cursor started moving to lower right portion of screen. Could not move it out of a 4x3" area without it reverting back to that area.
Currently operating computer in Safe Mode. Mouse and Cursor are working okay in safe mode.
In normal mode. Have already tried changing the batteries on the wireless mouse. Have already tried changing the batteries on the wireless keyboard.
Any ideas as to what is going wrong?

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It won’t solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of this test is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account. Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault in OS X 10.7 or later, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The "Guest User" login created by "Find My Mac" is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.

Sorry about the "CAPS", old eyes & tired brain, + in hunt & peck typing method I forget to cap at start of new sentence.....I don't have camera capability at this time. I re-read my discription of the screen and it is worded very accurately, as I close my eye's and imagine the words I see this weird screen as described. When this first occured I tried booting from cd (holding c key down) 5+ minutes and nothing (x5). I pulled the battery a week ago to clear cache, also disconnected power sup. from mother board, hoping for a magical self healing effect from complete discharge of residual currents in board or cache. I'm going to try bring life back to it today. and try the Imac boot commands just for fun (?). I may have lacked the patience needed when doing CUDA, programmers resets, so I will approach with a more zen like mind set this time.
