Lower volume on right side of headset

hey
i have a problem.. i just got the iphone 4 and when i am listening to music
i recognize that the right side of the headset is kind of flannelly. hard to describe... it is something i did not even realize when i used it the first time but when i am listening to music i can clearly hear the the right side has less volume in certain situations.. anything i can do? i already changed headset, tried several equalizer settings, changed tried all the different "ipod" settings on the iphone, but no change... any idea? is there kind of a setting where i can change the volume for each ear plug or something?! cheers, andreas

Actually there is a way.
It's in ACCESSIBILITY SETTINGS (normally used for those with a disability, like a hearing disability.)
Go to
settings
general
accessibility
scroll down to the "hearing" section
a couiple of controls down, notice a L ----- O ------ R slider that you can move to either side to emphasize audio more on one side than the other.
Hope this helps...

  • The bottom part of display whiter than the rest, white on right side more brownish

So I got a new replacement of my Thunderbolt Display, this time the one I got is straight (previously left side was lower than the right side), however I can see in new one that the bottom part of the display seems to be more white (you can see a slight horizontal line at the bottom) and also on the right side of the display white colour seems to be more brownish.
I have been wondering if that is acceptable for Thunderbolt monitor? Is that a backlit bleed on white? Can you see anything on the photo I have made or am I going slightly mad?:) Please help.

The display uses LED technology which means there will be some bleeding or clouding of light on dark backgrounds (mostly from the edges).  You should not have any brown color on the right side as your image shows unless perhaps you need to make some adjustments on your graphics card.  I use mine with a 2012 Mini and it has good colors.

  • When I boot up my Mac Pro, I get a small black puzzle looking piece on the lower right side of my thunderbolt

    Brand new Mac Pro, 2 thunderbolt monitors;
I get a small black puzzle looking piece on the lower right side of my  1st thunderbolt monitor when I boot up. It goes away once the computer fully boots, it is only on  there for a second or so. Does anyone have a similar issue?
These are only 1 month old.

It has been seen before, when hardware was malfunctioning:

I have a problem with the headset of my ipod nano 4th gen. the right side don't have a sound. It comes in and out.  what do I need to do.. I am using the original headset eversince. I tool it to a Apple Mac Cennter and Taked with a Service Center Rep. And he told me that they can't do anything because they don't repair the ipod they didn;t even look at it. I was told instead to buy a new one. I was very disappointed.. This is already my 5th ipod though i am planning to buy a new one.. I still want it fixed so I can give it to my little sister

From the OP: "My old computer got a virus and when that happened all my music was lost. "
They don't have the music on their computer so they cannot transfer the iTunes folder, from the computer to their iPod and then to the new computer. And if they try to enable disk use on the iPod it will erase all the music that is on it. The method you cited is moving the files in a data format using the iPod as a flash drive. It doesn't work if they are in music format. That is why I suggested Yamipod.

  • Zoom to lower right side of a page with scripting

    Hello,
I have a very simple batch processing script which will zoom the page to 100%.
The page view correctly zooms to 100%, and the default view is the top left hand side of the page.
What I require is have the page view scroll set to the bottom right side of the page (done with scripting).
(This is required to read drawing numbers and drawing revisions, without having to manually scroll down each page.)
Can anyone please advise how to approach this with scripting?
Any assistance would be most appreciated.  Script is as follows:
    //Set the zoom to 100%.
    this.zoom = 100;

Thank you very much for your assistance.
I have been able to create a script which will zoom to 100% and scroll to the lower right hand corner of the page.
Instead of trying to make the script work by batch processing, I have created a tool button instead.
The completed script is as follows:
    app.addToolButton({cName: "Shop Drawing View",cExec: "this.zoom = 100;this.scroll(1700, 200);",cTooltext: "View Shop Dwgs",cEnable: true,nPos: 0});

I plugged my car auxiliary audio cord into my iPhone 4 this morning, but the sound only came out of the right speakers.
I thought it might be the cord. So, I plugged in my iPhone headset, and the audio is still only coming out of the right side.

  • Problem with my headset - right side: cannot hear anything

    Hello
I have a macbook air and i plugged in a headseat today but I've noticed that the right side of my headset is not working. I cannot hear anything.
I made some tests and tried several different headsets and I realised it is always a problem with the right side. When I try any headset with my mac book air, I've noticed that I could not hear anything at my right ear.
Then I made another test, and I used the same headset and in other devices like my iphone for example. I've noticied that I can hear everything at both sides, so nothing is wrong with the headsets.
It seems to me that there is a problem with my computer. How do I go about solving this issue?
Is there both left and right sound boxes in my mac book air? I am asking this because I cannot see any sound boxes in my macbook air and therefore I wonder if there may be a problem with the right side of my sound box? Can this be possible?
    Appreciated quick replies.
    Tks,
    Debora

  • Why does the mouse 'run' to the lower right side of desktop and freeze when a SmartBoard is plugged into the USB port.  Running 10.8.5.   Sometimes the pointer has a cloud under it but it always freezes.

I run SmartBoards connected to iMacs running 10.7 and 10.8 throughout my school.  On one of these computers the mouse has recently started freezing the minute a SmartBoard is plugged in to the USB port.  The mouse 'runs' to the bottom right side of the screen, a cloud often is under the pointer, and it is not longer interactive.  You can move the mouse upward a bit with the cloud following some of the time but it does not work.  Once the SmartBoard is unplugged the mouse works normally.  This particular computer worked fine with the SmartBoard until recenlty.  Any solutions or ideas?

  • Line Out (Lime Color) Right Side not working.

I plugged in a 3.5m into my Line Out, I have it connected to my stero aux. My stero is working fine and everything with the sound is working right. No shortage in my wires. When I plug it into my Headphone jack it works fine but in my line out the right side only works but the left side sounds really really low. I have adjusted the levels and balance.
I think that the Maufacture must of missed up on the line out size. That's the only thing I can come up with.

this has happened to me. What part do I need to ask for in the shop. My sound was muffled, but I removed the speaker plug from the back and put it in the headset in the front and the whole thing is great now. I just need to now what part I need to ask for so I can fix it. I will google how to do it.

  • Low volume on the iMac after upgrade to 10.5.2

I recently took advantage of the update to Leopard 10.5.2. Since then, my volume is very very low. If I turn up the volume all the way, then I can faintly hear the audio content out of the right side of the computer. It sounds like it's playing out of an old PC speaker. All the applications are this way. Garageband, iMovie, and playback from audio recordings. During system boot-up, it appears that the sound is fine when it plays the opening sound going into Leopard, but once the system completes booting, the audio is very....very....LOW. This is my first Mac, so I'm not sure what to do..... Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    Hi rcdatadude
    Welcome to Apple Discussions
First off have you run repair permissions on your macintosh HD sense updating to Leopard? This function is pretty much the same as Tiger except that it hang for a min. so give it a chance to run. Use the links below to assist you, in the second scroll halfway down the page to the Repair Disk Permissions section.
    http://www.simplehelp.net/2007/05/14/how-to-repair-disk-permissions-in-os-x/
    http://kb.wisc.edu/helpdesk/page.php?id=3810
Then to check your audio settings:
Go to:  / System Preferences / Sound / Output and make sure that the Balance bar is centered.
Then if there is still an Audio problem go to: Macintosh HD / Applications / Audio MIDI Setup / Audio Devices then down in Properties For: select  Built-in Output and check the settings for Audio Output.
    Source: Internal Speakers
    Format: 44100.0 Hz 2ch-20bit
R & L volume sliders should be set the same.

  • Plantronics Voyager 855 unable to lower volume during iPod playback

I wasn't sure if this should be in 3GS or music and video, so I figured I would pick one.
I have a 3GS 32gb running version 3.1. The problem I have is during iPod playback. My Voyager 855 locks the volume slider on the phone at half way. Using the volume control ON THE HEADSET, I can increase the volume and see the volume slider on the phone increase correspondingly up to the point that the music is very loud. But, when I try to turn the music down, again using the volume controls ON THE HEADSET, the slider on the phone will only go down to the halfway point. I can continue to click the volume down button ON THE HEADSET and the button will beep along with a split second decrease in volume but as soon as the button is released the volume has not changed-it remains at the halfway point. I have this problem with watching youtube videos, everything, EXCEPT for on the rainfall app that I have. I can increase/decrease the volume all the way up or down to the point that I can no longer hear the rain or until it is so loud it hurts my ears. This is very frustrating as I would really like to use this headset while reading and for sleeping, but the iPod function is just too loud. My friend has a 3G 8gb with the exact same headset and he does not have this problem. Is this a feature/limitation of the 3GS?

Yeah, ha ha, that is my post to Plantronics and their reply to me. I tried what you suggested and no go:
Un pairing, rebooting, and re pairing did not result in a fix. I still have the same problem. I tried it on my wifes phone-hers is running 3.1.3, and no-go, it had the same problem.
The volume slider works when the music is not outputed through the headset. When through the iPhone speaker, it works as it should-the volume is able to be adjusted up and down via the slider. Videos behave as they should, any program that needs to be adjusted via the volume slider or the rocker button on the side of the phone works as it should. To expand on what I stated eariler: while using the iPod function I can set the slider all the way to the left (volume 0), press the option for output and set it to the headset. When I do that, there is a split second where you can see the slider move from the left to the middle, and then the slider disappears. It's almost as though the headset is resetting the default/baseline sound level from 0 to 50 (if we are working on a 0-100 scale). I can increase the volume using the buttons on the headset, and I can lower the volume only to half way. If I then select the option for sound output and change it back to speaker, the slider reappears, and it is all the way to the left where I originally set it. This is very frustrating. I can understand Plantronics response. but they are wrong. I can control the loudness of music via the iPod application. I guess maybe this is just a hiccup I will have to deal with. I have placed a request to Apple that they fix this. Maybe in the next upgrade they will, or at least add an option where you can adjust it in the settings.

  • HP Pavilion g6-1d98dx has very low volume.

    Hi there,
    I have an
HP Pavilion g6-1d98dx with W7 Ultimate that suddenly has very low volume. I have tried rolling back the drivers, uninstalling them and the device itself.
I also tried that loudness equalization option, but it only makes it worse. It used to sound very good, but now it's horrible. Now I have to wear a headset just to listen to music! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    Hi @Kindakool
I understand that you are having trouble with the sound from your built in speakers. I am happy to help you with this.
You can start with the following page, even though you are getting some sound.
No Sound from the Speakers (Windows 7)
Or you can check the connections on your internal speakers for that you will need:
HP Pavilion G6 Notebook PC - Maintenance and Service Guide
    From Microsoft's support website:
Automatically diagnose and fix Windows audio playback problems
If those do not work it is possible that there is a physical problem with the speakers themselves. At that point I would call in to our technical support at 800-474-6836. If you live outside the US/Canada Region, please click the link below to get the support number for your region.
