Lowering the export time without getting a pixellated fade in Compressor

Hi. I'm exporting a 20 minute-long video made in Final Cut Pro, 1080i shot at 25 frames, in Compressor. The finished file needs to be 640x360 res, with a Video Bit Rate of 672 and an Audio of 128.
My settings in Compressor are MPEG-4 for the file type, specifically an H.264 Baseline Profile one, I've got Multi-pass selected and the audio is in Stereo. Under Frame Controls, my resize filter is set to Better, with output fields to Progressive and Deinterlace set to Better. I've ticked Adaptive Details and the Rate Conversion is set to Better.
My original settings were a lot more standard than this, with Fast selected where Better is now selected for example, and the video ended up looking presentable, but with pixellation for every cross dissolve, fade or even movement of the camera. I have looked through a few help topics on this forum and others, and the solutions I came across were to change the settings to the ones I have listed above, what I currently use.
The problem now is that the video never gets exported! I click Submit, and the loading bar appears, moves a little, and the finishing time just goes up and up and up. Last time I tried to export the finishing time said 15 hours!
How do I fix this without ending up with a low quality video?

To begin, what is the purpose of this job? How are you going to use it?
Open the preview window and mark a short range of representative footage with in and out points. Make your adjustments in the Inspector>Encoder until the output file is acceptable image quality.
That is a very low data rate for a frame size that big. Why does it have to be 672 (and BTW, there is no way to get it to come out exactly at that rate)?
What is the source material? Are you changing the frame rate? If not don't use Frame Controls for Retiming.
The higher you crank up Frame Controls settings the longer the encode process. Was your source file interlaced? If not, leave that alone.
Try Main Profile and see whether the results are better.

Eric, thanks that works but seems like an extra added step also to do it that way. I've got to move and organize a ton of files and I'm looking for a easy way to get this done. I could also open the folder into a separate tab and then drag the tab out so it becomes an open window but thats a lot of fussing around also with extra steps. Not sure why these newer operating system seems more confusing and less user friendly than what they used to. In the past I could just click on any folder and it would open in a separate window making it really easy to copy or move files from one place to the other just by simply dragging them from one window to the other. Seems like I'm going through several extra steps now to do a simple task.

please let us know what patch level your middleware is running on.
The mobileengine.config file is placed in the MI client installation directory in subfolder settings. On PC it is in
c:\Program files\Sap Mobile Infrastructure\settings.
From the URL you mentioned above you are using the "old" technology. Please go the service.sap.com/instguides and follow the setup guid for the old technology.
When you enter the URL directly into the browser you should get a LOGON popup. This shows the service is running. I would expect that you do not get this popup due to missing setup.
If you want to use the new sync service in SICF and you have configured this. have a look into the manual. In that case you are missing some settings on the MI client. The problem is, that the old MI client uses old sync service by default.

Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), it will try to repair your Disk Directory while the spinning radian is happening, so let it go, run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, then move this folder & file to the Desktop.
Move this Folder to the Desktop...

Move this file to the Desktop...
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/Envelope Index
Reboot.
If that doesn't do it and you can afford to redo all your Rules, try these & reboot...

Note, in 10.5 & up /Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/Mail/ may or may not exist.

You can delete the empty one by dragging it to the trash ( test everything before emptying the trash)
Merging libraries requires iPhoto Library Manager - http://www.fatcatsoftware.com/iplm/ - it is the only current solution to merging libraries

I haven't gone to the trouble of actually testing to see which uses more CPU power, but Firefox has been faster than Safari on every Mac I've ever owned.
To see CPU usage by process, open the terminal (in Utilities) and enter 'top' at the command line. You might have to expand the window as processes don't appear in any logical order.
It could also be hardware-related: I have late 2009 mini with similar specs and it pinwheels easily.

I just bought an iPad 2 for my brother in India. :-). A brand new iPad 2 in a white box from best buy. I have couple of questions and hope the forum members would help. Thank you.
1. As i unboxed , i pressed the Home button, and the iPad screen didn't show the connect to itunes logo,instead led me thru' a series of steps like registering for itunes/apple password and it just started on its own. It works fine though ,however i found this to be weird to start without connecting to itunes. Is this considered "normal" for recent iPad 2's to start without itunes ?.
2. What kind of travel adapter would you suggest for use in India /240V ?. I was suggested to purchase a world adapter kit from apple store for $39.00 ,but i would use only one adapter and the rest wouldn't be of any use ? Could you suggest an adapter to use in India ?

Exported report will always have data. Simply copy ther eport from the FRS server to where ever. Un-clear why you would want to do this.

Why does the export time keep going up?

I'm exporting a movie I made and it's about 54 minutes in length and when it first started to load it said about 350 minutes or more and now its been loading for well over an hour and a half and I saw it go down to like 315 minutes and now its going up to 329 as we speak. Is this normal? Thanks

Frequently yes, it is. Compression formats like H.264 are very CPU intensive to begin with and, depending on the content being converted at any given moment may, depending on your computer, be only processing say 12-15 frames per second. With a change is scenery, this figure may double or be halved at any instance in time. Since the estimated time to completing is constantly be recomputed and updated, this estimate can vary drastically. For instance, most files start off with a black slug period that processes very quickly but then runs into a more graphically complex scene with or without dramatice changes in vector motion. This greatly slows down the processing and you begin to see wide swings in these estimations. However, as the conversion compress the excursions on the "average" estimation become less varied and more accurate.

Sync my iphone calendar with MobileMe for the first time without deleting?

I never used iCal, I only us the calendar on my iphone to remember appointments. Now I just got MobileMe and I want my iphone calendar to sync with mobileme (obviously for the first time). But when I turn on MobileMe calendar sync on my iPhone, I get the message that if I save that setting, all my events will be deleted from my phone!
How can I start using MobileMe on my phone without losing all my events/appointments??
And what's the logic behind this behavior? I don't get it.

This is the expected behavior. When MobileMe Push is enabled on the iPhone, it replaces the existing information with what it finds on me.com.
