Lowes Card

Hello All, I applied for a Lowe's CC last Friday for the 5% offe each purchase deal. My DW and I just closed on our home last week and needed a bunch of stuff. Got an instant approval for 800. Spent 300 on the card. Fast forward to this afternoon, called Credit Services to get a CL, got it increased to 10,000! I can deft see this card growing!

Defininately call. I also was approved for $800 two days ago. Called in, asked for $25k and was approved for $12K! I'm renovating a property I just bought and the 18 months 0% interest nailed it for me. Big Congrats to you!!,

  • Can't get a Lowes card

I've been trying to get a lowes card for a while. I think early on I was denied and now I'm not sure what is going on. If I app, they immediately give me 7 to 10 day notice and don't even HP me. Last/Only HP from lowes was on Apr 12th. My file is thin, AAoA less than 6 months. Zero baddies, quite a lot of HP's. I have 7 cards nowCapital One Plat - $800, Cap1 QS1 - $1,500, State Farm Rewards - $1,000, Amazon Store Card - $5,000, Walmart Store Card - $2,000, Kohls - $300, Home Depot - $1,000. My score is around 700, so why am I having so much trouble with lowes? Do I have to wait a certain amount of time? It'll be 3 months here in a week. Is there some wait time after denial? Is it really three months or longer? Do they start the timer over every time you apply even if they don't HP you? Should I call backdoor? Thanks!

Have you called to see if it is a security issue. BF had similar issues with Synchrony where he didn't call in to verify and was denied and when he reapplied old app was still on the system and wouldn't take any new ones. Once he called in and verified identity they erased old app and approved new one. Synchrony Says 30 days between denials.

  • Warning on low card space

I originally posted this on canonrumors.com (http://www.canonrumors.com/forum/index.php?topic=13766.0) and someone suggested I mention it here as a requested feature. Here's my original message.
So I just shot a wedding last night. I got to try out the Sigma 35 1.4 and a 5D Mark iii. Great lens BTW. We were all setup for the exiting shot with sparklers. Right as they came out the doors my card reads full. Luckily my wife got the shot but is it just me or does anybody else find it frustrating there's no warning when you're running low on card space? I come from the video world and pretty much every camera I've ever shot with has had a warning message when you get to around a couple minutes of space left on the tape/card. It seems like such a simple thing and especially with the 5D mark iii now having a section for warning messages, this seems like an obvious thing to put in there. I took a look at magic lantern again today but didn't see anything like this in there. It'd be great if at least it supported it. Before somebody says it, I do realize that the 5D mark iii has 2 slots and that I could of selected the option to have it start recording to the other card but being that it was a wedding, I decided to have it record JPGs in case there was an issue with one of the cards I was recording on. I had extra cards in my pocket but in moments like that you don't have time to switch cards. Sigh... live and you learn I guess. Just frustrating that a $3000 camera can't give a simple warning for something so important as card space.

Or you can check before every major event too. I'm also wedding photographer. Never miss a shot because of card space, always check, if I don't have at least 50 shot before the a major event, I'll just change the card.

  • Charge off credit card

I have an old account with credit union that was charged off July 2009. I contacted the bank and they refuse to speak in detail about the account! I was quickly given the number to collection agency who has the account. I contacted collection company a few years ago and per the rep she said I was sued for the debt and I didn't show up to court! She also stated its in public records! Because of that I have to pay original debt owed plus court fees and interest! I never got served with paper to go court! Public records on all my credit reports are 0! Not only that this collection company isn't on my report? The account is due to drop off next year! For the last few years I've done a good job obtaining accounts I constantly get pre approval letters but I don't need any more accounts! Should I pay or wait till it drops off?

I would call the collection agency back and ask for details such as the court it was filed in, the case number, and the date of filing or judgement.  You might find they won't be able to give you such info if they are simply trying to scare you.  Also ask for the information in writing and get their fax number and fax a request.  If they are not being honest with you then that is against the law.  A CA can't threaten you with a lawsuit, unless they truly intend to do so, however some of the less than up and up ones do it all the time.  I have been contacted about an old debt that I cannot be sued for about two years now.  It is for the same debt each time.  I send them faxes for a cease and desist and then some 'other' company calls me and starts the whole process over again.  They tell me they are going to sue, they tell me the debt is valid because I made payment arrangements, and they tell me other things too.  I ask for their physical address and most times they tell me they don't have to give it to me and that they will only give me a PO Box.  Sometimes they give me a physical address, which I Google, usually while on the phone with them, and point out that either that address doesn't exist or it is for a McDonalds.  (No it never has actually been a McDonalds, but it has never been a valid address for them.)  Even though it is a different name when the whole process starts over, I am certain that some of the representatives have the same name.  I think they use a name of another CA, or something similar, so if people ever can find an address it leads to a dead end.  The last time I got a call was on June 19 and I called them back and they said they would remove from their system.  Since then I actually haven't received another call.  I am waiting though. Once they said they were going to sue me and then changed it to the creditor was going to sue me.  The creditor was GE which is now Sychrony.  I guess Synchrony doesn't really care too much at this point because I have $4000 Wally World card, a $9600 PayPal Card, and now a $5000 Lowes Card with them.  Did your address change?  If so they could have simply served the paperwork to the old address, which is allowed by law if there is no forwarding address.  However, you might just find they are the likes as to what I have described above.  You might be surprised how many CAs don't actually follow the law and don't tell you the truth.  I had one which called one of my credit card companies and posed as me to find out my available balance and then offer to settle for that exact amount.  There is no way they could have known my available balance, as it was different than that which was on my credit reports!  They were more than willing to settle for less, much less when I pointed that out and told them that the bank was ready and willing to testify against them for my account having been accessed illegally, since the bank wanted to protect their own liability.  The bank never said they would do that, but I figured if they were going to do such a thing, then what harm would there be if I let them think the bank was willing to do so. I agree, except that if a judgement is already in place there's technically not a 'threat' of a lawsuit - the judgement means the lawsuit has already happened, and the OP lost by default (default judgement).  This is why I mentioned the option of checking to see if a lawyer can get it vacated, i.e. like it didn't happen, due to not being properly served.  The 'good news' is that even with a judgement, it's the plaintiff's burden to search out any possibly funds that can be used to satisfy the judgement; the court does not assist with this.  If it's a small dollar amount, it's not likely the creditor will even bother, but as always, YMMV.If, being the key word here, if there was really a judgement and the OP was properly served then it is doubtful that it can be vacated.  The OP does state later that they did not change addresses and this probably means that the CA was really just trying to scare them.  If the CA already had a judgement, they would have pursued it and started seizing funds or garnishing wages.

  • Synchrony/Lowes Denial - What score do they use?

I recently purchased a home and was looking to do some remodel, FICO 8 scores are Eq: 669 Ex: 703, Tu: 676, I figured I had a good shot at a lowes card and could probably recon for a nice limit and get all my stuff.  Well they denied me and they sent me a letter and my stated score was 437 WAY lower than what MyFICO gives. What score do they use? Any chance for a recon?

  • Replacing Graphics Cards in new MBPs

As we all know, the new MacBook Pros come with two graphics cards, one for normal energy-efficient use, and another for 'turbocharging.'
I was wondering if I could replace one of the two with another brand, namely ATI, for broader (ie Source) game support. I know that NVIDIA works for everything, but I've heard bad things about the cards when running Source games (unusually poor framerates).
Is the Energy Saver's options too restrictive for this, or could I make the computer think that say the ATI is the lower card?
    -Joseph Durel

Furthermore, the 9400m is not just a video card, but also the machine's chipset which is the system memory controller, and interface to things like USB, etc. Its a hybrid graphics chip / system chipset.
Also, as mentioned before.. Its not a graphics "card". It is not something you can simply remove. It is a permanent part of the machine and simply cannot be removed.. ever.

  • Need help: Lows Approval vs Venture CL Use

Hi everyone, need your advice and helpful knowledge on this. Sorry is too long but i know you all love the details  As previously stated on other threads, I live in a HOA property and my fence formally got approved...waiting on county to draw new property lines and make it official on paper. I need to spend a total of about $5000 on fence materials: Should I apply for Lowes special promo and request the 5.99% for 84 months at check out? (must spend a least $3500 for offer which will be no problem obviously).  On this promo, not sure If I can pay off early or If I'm only allow to make the minimum payments...ewww OR Use my Venture with $15,000 CL.  I will make a $600 payment on it right away which will put me at 30% UTL when reporting to CR on first statement.   My UTL will decrease by 3% (about) each month as i will be making $600 payments. I know is no brainer BUT, what If I don't get approved for Lowes,  I don't want another HP or a second denial when calling recon; not even sure if they'll give me enough of a CL to purchase $5000 worth of fence materials. Either way I go, I will be making $600 dollar payments until paid off, sometimes I will be able to do $650.   Can you make higher payments on Lowes promo?Would it be worth it taking a chance for Lowes and the HP?Other options? Personally I'd go with the Lowes card. This is one of the few store cards which fits pretty much any home owner, and their promos for rates just don't suck.  It's even on my list whenever I go buy a real home someday in the future where it's a foregone conclusion around here I'm probably going to have to sink 100K into the house to fix it... and probably everyone knows my personal theories about store cards (just say no unless you shop there and their reward structure is better than any national bank cards). Sounds like you know the Lowes promos better than I do since I haven't kept up with them currently, but 6% vs. 18%, no brainer even over 10 months.  Inquiries are cheap, non-trivial interest is not... I don't really see your getting denied for it frankly though, only sticking point is that BK with a Walmart card since I think Synch underwrites Lowes, but as I understand it they're fairly BK friendly anyway.

  • App'ing for Lowes UPDATE! APPROVED FOR $2K

I will be doing an app for a Loews card today or tomorrow. My scores are low to mid 700's and my UTI is at 24% across all of my cards. Whatever they give me (if I'm approved), I will be calling the backdoor number and asking for $50k based on the information I saw here. Wish me luck.  BTW, my report will show that I recently bought a home reporting since March. I will tell them that I need major renovations to explain why I need that much.  Any tips would be appreciated.   UPDATE, -  after being approved for the $2k, I called the back door number and asked for $50k and was countered with $17k.

    Yes-Its-Me wrote:
I am going to be the bad guy here.. Looking at the limits on your card as I see your highest limit is on the NFCU card, you will get approved but you will not be getting a 50k lowes card. The credit line is determine by the limits on all cards, scores etc.. You have a very good reason as to why you want it so I will keep fingers crossed for you.  Report back with results..My highest card was a 17,500 NFCU card, and when I called them for a CLI, I was given $25k (from a $2,500 limit) when I asked for it, $7,500 more than NFCU. Now this was an established account, so it might differ from a new account, and $50k is quite high, but it's possible.

  • Capital One Venture Approval and Lowes Approval after verification

Capital One applied July 16th didn't get a decision until July 27 (that's when letter is dated, but I just found out today when it came in the mail). Originally asked me to fax documents, then said documents were too dark and needed to re fax, then EO wanted me to email documents, then I got a denial letter that I couldn't retrieve, reps said it was because they couldn't identify me, theeeeeeeennnnnnnn they said EO never sent them my IDs that I emailed. I have active military ID, drivers license and vet ID from my last deployment. Still weren't good enough. So I was resolved to accept the denial and close my accounts (have investments, and savings with them as well as QS One and secured card). I told EO department this through email. So needless to say, the letter I received today stated I had been approved for 10,000. I previously worked for Capital One and I know that if you have a certain amount of money with them they automatically can recon  your account if you ask but I didn't meet that threshold. However, I think they approved me to keep me as a customer. (come on, I used to work there, sent in two IDs, a SS card and randomly a birth certificate and you still deny me due to not being able to identify me lol) Just glad that's over. Bought some appliances for my mom and applied for lowes card. Was hoping to convince the rep to let me use military discount with 5% everyday. after having to call verification team (this again..) I was approved for SL of 2000. I will ask for higher CL tomorrow. So after much stress to prove i'm not jimmy joe from down the street, I did okay LOL.

ImaginaryFriend, I burned them in 2009 and they've approved three cards for me so far this year.

  • What card ?

I have been looking on this card MSI R7970 Lightning 3 gb
But i have also heard that 2 other lower cards from the 7 series should be better and cheaper ?
What cards from the 7 serie should i crossfire and get better ressults in games ?

Quote from: Psycrovv on 10-June-12, 05:22:11
    look here
Its shows that crossfire 2 x 7850 is better than 1 x 7970 card, but then again the 7970 card have 3 gb and the other crossfire system is " only 2 gb " and the cost are the same for either 2 7850 cards or 1 7970
So what should i choose here ?
I can also choose to buy the 7970 card and then save money for another in crossfire,
So i am a bit in doubt here
Second option will be best, 2x7970 will be more powerfull in all cases.
    And more expensive respective.
If you want the top stuffs and max performance in ultra resolutions, go for 7970. the king of the hill.
Another question will be, if its 7970, to be Lightning one or some other:

Thought it would be fun to see what cards you are using and for what purchases. Today I went to Lowes and broke in my new Lowes card to purchase some items for a small project on my camper. It was nice seeing the instant 5% discount on the total purchase.

  • Where is the main difference between the GTX and Quadro cards?

I want to build a serious system for video editing/composing. I'll be using Pr, Sg, Ae (with Element) and 3ds max (just getting started). I read that the GTX card's specs are a lot higher, but the Quadros are recommended for editing and 3D apps. I was planning on integrating the K5000 and came across the much cheaper GTX Titan and lower cards. I also read through other discussions but am still confused. I won't use a 10-bit monitor. I do not plan on playing games on this computer. Just editing and composing. Most of all I'd like my render times to become a lot faster. And with the new Raw video for the 5D Mark III I will edit a lot of 2.2k raw footage. I want it to play smoothly without fps breakdowns even with effects apllied. Element will do some 3D stuff for me in AE. I'm thinking about getting more advanced in 3ds Max as well. What card would do the better job? I'm really not a computer nerd. I had a friend configure a system for me. This is what he came up with:
    i7 3970x
    32gb 2400mhz
    512 SSD
    WD Red in external raid
    DX79 TO Intel Mainboard
Quadro K5000 (not sure about this one)
What configuration would work best and is expandable in the future?

Since I'm still trying to keep things mostly inexpensive...
Not with very much success, I must say.

The only advantages of the 3970X are the higher standard clock speed, which loses all relevancy if you overclock, and the 15 MB L3 cache versus 12 MB L3, which has very limited value, especially when overclocking.
It is nonsense that 4 GB sticks are faster than 8 GB sticks, assuming the same timings. In both cases the slots are fully populated, so quad channel is fully used. Kingston Hyper X Beast will not work at all in a fully populated configuration, because it is 1.65V memory.
512 GB is a waste of space for OS & programs, 128 GB is more than enough.
Intel has a pretty lousy reputation with regards to overclockability and it misses two SATA 6G ports in comparison to the Asus.
The 770 is way faster than a K5000 for a fraction of the price.
The rest will only be about the storage solution, so read on.
Raid 1 doubles the price of your storage solution and gives no performance gain at all. The only connections you have available are 4 internal SATA 3G ports, one of which is in use for a BDR or DVD burner, which can not be reliably connected to a 6G port. Only three left. Mixing SATA 3G and 6G ports is always a bad idea when using raids.
External devices need a connection and you are quickly running out of SATA connections and then even (e)SATA is too slow for external storage when using raid arrays. Unless you want extremely costly solutions (think € 10K+) there is no sense in going external.
Why even consider a CPU like the i7-3970X and a K5000 card if the rest is so extremely underpowered? That makes no sense at all.
You need a lot of disks, you never have enough, but you need to rethink your raid solution. I give you something else to read: Adobe Community: To RAID or not to RAID, that is the question
With the basic components you chose above or with my alternative list, you have to consider a dedicated raid controller and many disks to make it work as you want.
Currently it looks like you want a Ferrari 599, but only with the gearbox of a Fiat 500. If you want to build a serious system, count on spending around 30 - 35% of the total budget on disks and another 10 - 15% on a dedicated raid controller. Then you will have much, much better performance, and security against disk failures.

  • Lowe's 7-10 day decision

My TU FICO8 is 757 with no baddies at all.  I do have 11 inquiries over the past year and several new accounts this year, but no derogs I just applied for a LOWEs card and received a message that I would receive a decision in 7-10 days and there was a reference number it asked me to write down or print. Anyway have this before? Is there a number I can call to find out more information or should I just wait for the letter?

  • Replacing video cards

Bought a recent video game that needs a superior graphics card. How to do ID where it should go and replace the existing one on an iMac G5? Thanks, Eli

    To share my experience --
SIMS 2 specs (packaging and website) indicate it will only run on an ATI 9000 series or higher.
My daughters eMac has the ATI 7500. After upgrading it to OSX 10.4 from 10.2, SIMS 2 ran great. Have no idea why Aspyr would not want it ran on the lower cards but it has not been a restriction.
Just curious--what's the game? As the ATI 9000 series and 128MB VRAM is still mainstream video.

  • Home Depot vs Lowe's - Advice please!!

So I'm going to pull the trigger even though i need to be in the garden...if i have to :-) My HOA is letting residents aquire more land to either side and back of the house due to the water drought.  HOA doesnt want to bother watering the grass and paying landscapers to cut it either. I got an estimate from a fence company for $6.5k to fence in what belongs to us.  Keep in mind that we just moved in and there was no fence.  If we were to ask for 11' more to right of the house and 4' more to the left and get approved by HOA/city, the bid goes to $7.5k.  Both include installation and labor. My friends agreed to help me put up the vinyl fence which they know how to do, if we do it by ourselves. Do i get a home depot or lowes card to purchase all materials (about $3k-$4k) or should I charge it on a regualr credit card? Does either of the stores provide good CLs? 0% for the first year or so? Thanks!!

+1  If the price/availability/quality of the fence is about equal and both stores are a possibility, I'd go with Lowe's for a CC. I've got both.  HD will do 0% for 24 months (term might vary based on amount financed), but that's about it. Some have said they've gotten 5% off in store on purchases after that, but it's not a regular thing and I think it'd be a PITA. HD is Citi, so not as easy to deal with or get in with for most.  Lowe's is an automatic 5% on everything you purchase OR you have the option of 0%. I am not up on how long they 0% for though. Lowe's makes a point of it being a regular thing with 0% where HD makes it seem like it's on account open only. We put kitchen reno stuff on two HD cards at opening (reconned to get decent limits) and haven't done anything beyond that. They may give 0% thereafter if asked, but again it doesn't seem to be their regular thing.  One thing that COULD be a consideration, depending on the term of the 0% etc. Lowe's recently switched up what happens if you don't pay the balance by the end of the promotional period. They had been like a major CC. At the point the 0% ends, you'd just start accruing interest at that time. But now it's like a furniture card or the like, where if you don't have it paid to zero, they'll hit you with ALL the interest for the whole time. At least that's my understanding. (I also am not 100% sure that HD isn't like that, but I don't think they are. I'll definitely be finding out before 07/16 though. )  Last, people on here, as stated above, get CRAZY CLI's with Lowe's. HD, not so much.  Then again, see what you've got available on existing cards. You might find you could get 0% on something exisiting. If you have a Discover (or 2) you could get 10% off since it's the 5% cat this quarter. It caps at $1500 though. Or if they're supplies that you can pick out on the website, you could do it through Discover deals maybe (I can't recall which, if either, have active deals now). That could be an option through another existing shopping portal too, for a discount, if you don't opt for a new card.
