Lowpass filter help for thermocouple reading

Hello
I have an old legacy E-Series AI-16SE 12bit 500KHz PCI card.
I am attempting to setup a temperature reading test program. I will have the E-Series connected to a SCB-68, which will have five T type thermocouples connected. I realize this is not the best test setup but it is an attempt at a quick setup on a bench so hopefully any noise interferance will be minimal.
I will be using LV 8.2 professional development.
I was wondering if I setup a software based lowpass filter if that would be helpful in this situation?
If so can someone show an example the has a cutoff freq for 2Hz? I am unfamilular with all the settings of the lowpass filter VI and some guidance would be much appreciated.

Tim,
Rob's idea is probably what you should try first. It is in effect a low pass filter with about a 10 Hz corner frequency.
If you find that you have strong power line frequency interference, you may need to do more aggressive signal conditioning. Especially watch out for ground loops.

Automator quartz filter help for pdf downsizing

i am trying to get this thread going on my computers and I can't quite tell what i am doing wrong.
i've to the Reduce File Size (75%).qfilter file but i am not having luck getting it working.
also, i seem to have a convertImages.workflow file but i am reading through about fifty pages of threads and i'm basically at a loss right now.
i /have/ been able to install filters that will let me downsize pdfs from within Preview but can anyone help me get one or both of the above going?

Help for Acrobat Reader 7.0.9 for AIX run in command line

I have a batch job, will call acrobat reader to convert pdf format to ps, then print it to printer.

Didn't have time to do more than skim, but 'Ardour' looked promising. Protools is the only one I've used, the full product is one of the industry standards, but the free 'lite' version listed here seems to be limited to 2 in/out as well.
Referring to your original post, I'd think trying to write or 'script' something would be a nightmare ... synchronisation of streams within something like Applescript would be a major issue, quite apart from anything else.

Filter Criteria in Value Help for InfoObject

Hi,
Is it possible to remove the value from Filter Criteria. When I use F4 for a Field (in Screen) , its showing a poup window (Value Help for Info Object) with some personal values. When I click "More Values" option its showing the General Value List, where I can see the Filter Criteria. When I click "Show Filter Criteria", its showing the Criteria with a Value (This value is coming from the field(Screen) from where I am coming). is it possible to avoid of passing value from my screen field to Filter Criteria ?

Adobe Reader help for trial version

Can anyone help me please, granted I am only using the trial version of Adobe Reader but I can never type onto a form recieved in pdf format, also when I scan a document whether it be forms or my pictures it alway's goes to Adobe Reader, I am just a home user, windows 7 64 bit computer and using IE8, if anyone can help I would appreciate it , thanks in advance.

I feel your frustration. I have been down this road before with the Adobe Reader X (10.1.1) and my issue was that I cept getting the following when I tried to open a .pdf file: "Invalid plugin detected. Adobe Reader will quit." It is fixable but I had to have a Adobe Support agent help me (and it cost me $29.95). But the same problem is back and I can't seem to find any of the email streams that I had from the support agent.
Adobe : If you are going to offer a product (Adobe Reader X) for free, so should at least stand behind it.
I would gladly paid a reasonable fee for Adobe Reader X (10.1.1) if it would continue to operate as advertised.
And George Johnson and -graffiti stop giving lip service - we are just looking for "The fix".

Help!! Can't install Imageviewer for Adobe Reader 8

I get this error message when I try to install the ImageViewer plug-in for Adobe Reader 8: "A suitable version of Adobe Acrobat or Acrobat Reader was not found on this system. The Image Viewer plugin requires Acrobat version 5.0 or later. The plugin will not be installed."
I have checked my version and it's 8.1.2

ImageViewer is an old plug-in, obsolete with current versions of
Reader. I seem to remember that Reader includes what the plug-in used
to do. Are you trying to solve a particular problem?

I'm trying to install Solaris 10 on an x86 machine. During the initial install I get that for about 3 minutes, then it says exceeds maximum number of tries, and goes on with the install...why is this happening, the hd is a clean drive that used to have ubuntu working fine on it.

to be 100% sure, that the drive is defective, download the diagnostic sw from the manufacturers homepage.

as the drive is recognized as a generic-ata, the chance for IDE should be >90%.

How do I take a thermocouple reading with a pci6025E?

How do I take a thermocouple reading with a pci6025E? I have seen some postings with scxi-1112 modules which I do not have. I need advice from the ground up. Do I need external circuitry, can I just wire both leads of the thermocouple to Ain0 differential pins, what vis are necessary in the actual programming... If there is an example program or anything else that might seem relavent? I appreciate any help.

This is most probably a result of multiple factor that make the measurement imperfect:
- You're not using signal conditioning, so your resolution is definitely very reduced. Any temperature drift in the board could cause a big difference in the reading. I recommend you run your vi for approximately half an hour, unplug the accessory and perform a self calibration. This will have the board at the operational temperature you're expecting and will give you the best results.
-I personally would recommend using a different sensor type (RTD or Thermistor) as the CJC source, in order to obtain an accurate measurement, otherwise you have a bit of a "chicken and egg" problem, because you're using thermocouple 2 as the CJC for thermocouple 1, but what are you using as the CJC source of thermocouple 2?
- Are both your thermocouples of the same type and manufacturer? Due to the nature of the thermocouple itself, you can find slight variations between thermocouples from different vendors, due to the purity of the metals used. While this would usually be almost impossible to detect, it might be driving your voltage just enough to be in the next detectable voltage step (again, due to the reduced resolution).
- I've worked with temperature sensors for a while, and I'd still recommend that you try some sort of signal conditioning in order to increase your accuracy. Even a small amplifier and a passive lowpass filter will do great. I know you said you don't have SCXI, but if you want some lower cost ready to use applications you might consider looking at the SCC Carriers and modules we have.

Editing help for a newbie :) baby photo editing effect

hello everyone Firtly im sorry if i am posting in totally the wrong area but its the first time i have been on the site so not too sure of my way around lol
Im in desperate need of some help with photo editing in cs3.
basically i have seen some baby photos someone i 'know' has taken where a lovely effect has been applied. I asked her how and this is what she said:
'I create a fill layer of a shade of the middle tone of the sikin colour reduce the opacity, then add a texture mask to bring back a bit more of the features and paint it on the areas .. then just sharpen areas such as eyes nose and mouth .. and highlights to the corners of the eyes and centre of the mouth .. and then select high pass as a mask and that makes the image pop out a little bit'
But being a newbie i have no idea how to do any of this!! lol i know my way around photo shop a bit but just afetr ANYONE who can help me step by step pretty pretty please?

Nor sure what she means with »texture mask«, but possibly just applying heavy noise (Filter > Noise > Add Noise) on the Layer Mask.
then just sharpen areas such as eyes nose and mouth ..
One option is applying Filter > Sharpening > Unsharp Mask to a copy of the Smart Object and setting it to Blend Mode Luminance and painting on its Layer Mask.

This could be done with a Curves- or Levels Adjustment Layer.

That seems more than a little unclear to me – making a Selection of a High Pass-result and using it as a Mask for what?
One can use the High Pass Filter for sharpening.

Need help for setFilterPredicate

Hello community,
beeing quite new with the fascinating Xcode environment, I need your help for a simple thing of NSPredicate.
( Well, only simple for those who know...)
I like to display a set of values in a tableview (tblView), and to filter it with the nice search field (searchField).
What I tried:
1.) creating an array with objects defined in MyData.h with a property named mytext
2.) creating a NSArrayController, contens is the array of 1.
3.) creating an NSPredicate filter in MyModel.m (see below)
4.) Binding the filter to the ArrayController in the "filter predicate"-section : bind to MyModel, model Key Path = myPredicate
Everything looks fine when the app starts. But when I try to change the filter in my search field, I get the message:
[<MyModel 0x100141660> setValue:forUndefinedKey:]: this class is not key value coding-compliant for the key myPredicate.
Here are the codes of interest, all in the implementation section of MyModel.
Whats wrong with it ?

SRM Portal - Search help for a custom field

Hi,
I have added a custom field to the SRM Portal (5.0) shopping cart, by adding the field to structures INCL_EEW_PD_ITEM_CSF INCL_EEW_PD_ITEM_CSF_SC.
However, I need to filter the search help for that custom field, based on values & relationships stored in a Z table.
Is this possible? How? Please help.

Currently, my idea would be to create a search help for the custom field & filter the values in a search help exit. However, would I be able to get other field values (standard) from SRM into my search help exit?
