Loyalty Upgrade? What was this, nothing happened. Wasn't a scam I hope :(

I got the text message saying I got double data if I reply YES for no charge for a loyalty bonus or what not. I did reply and it hasn't changed on my plan. Is this a scam or something that I just put myself into? I looked it up and another rep said it was legit but, haven't seen anything from it or about it since the orignal message.

Just a shared 2GB. Said or would upgrade us to 4GB no charge.

Can anyone help me ? my iphone 3gs keeps displaying needs activation and connect to itunes when i do this nothing happens but the phone works fine but as soon as i disconect the phone it displays the same message over again and wont let me go any further

Upgraded Itunes to 6 nothing happens when started. Anybody found problem.

I upgraded to Itunes 6 and nothing happens on start. Tried all the fixes on Apple site and that I have read about in Apple Itunes forum. Anybody have a fix that works for this problem. Running Windows XP and have tried shutting down firewall as a fix but does not solve problem.
I guess next trip is to the Apple Store. So far this is one of the worst upgrades I have seen Apple do. I am a long time user.

I appreciate that this response won't be terribly helpful to you, but there is an obvious solution to all the problems raised on this forum about iTunes upgrades not working: throw away your iPod. Other MP3 players are available, none of which use Apple's codec or DRM. That way, you're not trapped with a company that clearly doesn't care how much money you're spent with them, it isn't interested in you when its products don't work.
Let's all start looking behind the wonderful brand image and get to grips with the reality of Apple: it holds its customers in contempt and believes that its obligations to you end the moment it has your money. Even Microsoft handles technical issues better than Apple because it does so out in the open - doesn't that speak volumes?
You have a choice. Ditch Apple.

Fixed: Slow Snow Leopard. What was this file for?

I just bought a new iMac on Monday. It's supposed to be the newest and best technology... blah blah blah blah blah.
Anyhow, it worked great for a few days, and then last night it began slowing down to the point where nothing was functional. A simple reboot helped very little, and I became very frustrated.
I ended up finding some guys blog about Macs, and he deleted this file to fix his Snow Leopard problems:
System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.audio.coreaudiod.plist
Having no other choice but to wait for an update from Apple, I deleted the same file. I rebooted my computer, and it was like magic. The computer is faster then ever, and very enjoyable to use. So, my question is: what is the world is that for for? It used like 1.40-1.80 GB of RAM...

no, it doesn't. none of the items in /system/library/launchdaemons are automatically rebuilt on deletion. if you delete something from there it's gone for good. these are necessary system daemons and deleting them can make system inoperable or cripple it. I'm not quite sure what this one does. googling indicates that it is responsible for a number of audio functions like system sounds and keeping volume settings on restarts. I've seen a number of posts recommending deleting it as a possible workaround for some slowdown issues but I would not do that with this or any other system launch daemon. as is aid, this may cripple some system functions and the file will not be recreated by the system if you want it back. if you want to disable it as a troubleshooting step you can do it without deleting the file. run the following terminal command
sudo launchctl unload -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.audio.coreaudiod.plist
this will make the daemon inactive without deleting the file. and it will remain inactive even on restarts. if you want to activate it change unload to load in the above command.

Upgrade to Itunes 6 - Nothing Happens...

To use the itunes store my pc tells me that i need at least itunes 6, which is fine. But when i go to the apple donload page and click download, it sais "Your itunes download will start automatically" but it doesn't nothing happnes at all. I've checked my security setting and i dont think its that - i'm a bit stumped. Jezza

let's first try a careful standalone QT 7.1 reinstall:
download and save a copy of the QT 7.1 standalone installer to your hard drive. (we'll run the install from there rather than online.) switch off antivirus and antispyware applications prior to the install.

if that install goes through okay, does your itunes launch properly again?
(if you get an error message on the QT standalone reinstall, let us know what it says. include error message numbers if you're getting any.)

What was this app called?

I remember looking at this app, and then passing it because it costed money. Basically, you could let some portions of a video play while the other areas were frozen at a specific frame. I remember as an example they showed a waterfall but only the fall was moving, and there were no ripples because they were frozen.
Does anyone know the name of this app or one that is similar?

Why do I get the following when message on Contacts which does not let me delete; Cannot connect to the account-enter password for -..-When i do this nothing happens, same message reappears?!

This I do but the same thing repeats itself!
Also(?) I am unable to share photos, as 'server did not recognise user/password combination'?

I often get pages that say my page can't open because of Corrupted Content Error. What causes this to happen?

I just got out of a chat with Apple Support. They are sending me a free disc copy of iWork 09, which is very nice. Unfortunately, other than getting a copy of 09, it doesn't look like there is a solution to making the files compatible.

Skype call, nothing happens

Hello out there!
First of all, please excuse my rather poor English. I hope what I write is understandable. Last night I was going to video call a friend by Skype. I chose the contact name and then I tried to make the call the usual way.
The call window pops up, but afther this nothing happens. Usually there should be an audio signal, telling that a Skype call is being made, followed by the call tone. But nothing happens from here. Silence, no call tone and no connection. After a while the call windows shut down, I get the "fail signal" and a little message under my contacts window aying "Call failed". It's happening when I try to call other contacts as well.
Skype has been working very well until now.
I have an Acer laptop, running Win7 64. "Lot's" of memory etc.
Anyone?

Was the contact you were trying to call Online on Skype? The status icon next to this contact's name must be solid green with a white checkmark inside.

What is this stupid "recovery mode"?

My iPhone was working perfectly until the sync I did today. It said a new version was available. I followed the instructions to the letter. After it finished everything, I disconnected it just like I normally did after a sync or sync/update.
Next time I went to use the iPhone, when I powered it up, a yellow rectangle with an exclamation point appeared above the words "Please Connect to iTunes". Huh? What was this? But when I connected to iTunes, it said "iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes". Restore? Must? I only see a restore button that will "restore its original settings". I know what that means because I had to do that on my first iPhone (yes this is my second iPhone now). Original settings is a euphemisn for "trash everything you've done since you bought the phone". Fat chance I'm going to press that suicide buttone again!
So now I have a phone that won't do anything. No way to get calls, no way to make calls, no way to check the weather. No way to do nothing! Unless I want to erase everything and that I refuse to do again.
So now I need to find out how to get control of the data stored in my iPhone. Anyone out there know how to do this? I'm sick of Apple erasing my records everytime they have a new bug!

No, the new contacts do not exist on the laptop. There were no error messages during the time the iPhone was connected. I merely agreed to the update and then went away for a few minutes. When I came back, it was waiting for me to confirm import of photos, which I did and once again went away for a few minutes. The system and iTunes were completely idle when I returned. No "do not disconnect iPhone" message. But your question was a good one!
I'm open to any other ideas, but tomorrow I'm calling AT&T to have my calls forwarded to my land line. I am absolutely determined to find a way to extract the raw data from my 'dead as a doornail' iPhone.
