LP 9.1.8: Trim region start to previous region?

I know I can use the command "Trim region end to next region", but I cannot find the way to make the inverse procedure....
Any help?

Step 1 would be to check if you have corrupted preferences:
Quit Logic
Go to the <User>:Library:Preferences (note that the User Library is hidden by default in MLion, so use the Finder:Go menu whilst holding down Option to get there).
Find the Logic Pro preferences file:
com.apple.logic.pro.plist
Move this file to the Desktop, and restart Logic

When I create a new track and region, the new region copies the previous region contents; why?

In trying to experiment with new instruments included in 10.1. , I create a new instrument track and region, nominate the new instrument, and... I see that the empty region I just created isn't empty at all, it is filled with the notes created in a previous track, and no sound... is this a glitch or am I doing something wrong?

You can highlight the URL in the Location Bar of a Tab you want to duplicate and use '''{Alt + Enter}''' or you can '''Middle-click the Reload button''' at the right-side of the Location Bar (no need to highlight the URL there).
Both of those methods will work whether you have '''''Tabs on Top''''' selected or not.

Shortcut for "moving region start to cursor"?

Hi, I used to be able to move the start of a region to the cursor position with a short cut. I'm not able to find it anymore in the key commands.
Any idea?

and if I copy a region, say 10 times, they all starts with a fill.
So my work around is to delete the automatic generated regions
and make new ones. If I need to copy many regions I copy one
at a time. Using latest LX.

I can not change the region of DVD for region 4 (Brazil)

I can not change the region of DVD for region 4 (Brazil) what do I do? Help me. The drive is a MAT**bleep**A BD-CMB UJ141ES notebook and is a satellite Toshiba M645.

You might try AnyDVD. It's not a free solution, but might provide you a way around the region restricions.
There are other software solutions, you might start by reading or searching at the doom9.org forums.

Duplicate content of region fields in the region and keep some fields

duplicate content of region fields in the region and keep some fields displayed in this region and some not.
Our customer wants to duplicate the content of the region fields and 3 fields of this region (one of them is the key from the table ) have to be shown empty and have to be recreated when he does the next commit. The other 25 fields have to be filled with the content before. (I have to do a commit before I show the region again without these three fields)
What I did:
When I have a botton with request CHANGE then APEX does the change without emptying the fields. I tried to make processes on this request which should empty my three fields, but the processes never fire (I see it in the debug and I don't know why, I putted them on every process point for testing)
The second try:
On my button with request CHANGE , I filled the 'set these items ' with my three fields and the 'with these items' with 2 commas ,, to set these items null.
I do no claer cache, but APEX empties the hole region.
Can you help me??

OK - This is what I did:
1 - Page 15
On the EMPNO column, I have a link to page 18. I set P18_EMPNO to #EMPNO#. I assume that you already have this functionality to link from the report page to the form page. There are no changes required to this page.
2 - Page 18
I have created a hidden field called "P18_EMPNO_COPY". There are no special settings for this item - I've just put it at the bottom of the region containing all of the other items
I have created a button called "P18_COPY". This has a Conditional Display set with a Condition Type of Value of Item in Expression 1 IS NOT NULL and Expression 1 of P18_EMPNO. This has an Option URL Redirect set for it with the following settings:
Target is a - Page
Page - 18
Set These Items - P18_EMPNO,P18_EMPNO_COPY
With These Values - ,&P18_EMPNO.
I have created a Process to run "On Load - After Header". The PL/SQL code for this is:

This has a Conditional Processing Condition Type of "Value of Item in Expression 1 is NOT NULL" and Expression 1 shows P18_EMPNO_COPY
Finally, for each field, I have added in a Default Value that points to itself (For example, the P18_JOB field has a Default Value of :P18_JOB) with a Default Value Type of PL/SQL Expression.
Obviously you will need to replace the field and item names with those for your table and form.
This process does the following:
1 - The user clicks the link in the report on page 15. P18_EMPNO gets populated with the EMPNO value of the item select.
2 - Page 18 is loaded with the data relating to the record with the ID found in P18_EMPNO
3 - The Copy button is displayed only if P18_EMPNO contains a value
4 - The user clicks the Copy button
5 - The P18_EMPNO value is copied into P18_EMPNO_COPY and P18_EMPNO is blanked out
6 - The page is submitted with these changes. When it reloads, the new process kicks in
7 - This process will:
(A) Create a variable based on the record structure for the EMP table
(B) Fill this variable with the data in the table for the ID that's now in P18_EMPNO_COPY
(C) Set the session state values for the fields that need to be repopulated with the data now retrieved into the variable
(D) Clear the P18_EMPNO session state value
8 - When the page starts to load the form, it will see that there is no P18_EMPNO value and, therefore, will not bring in any information from the table. However, as we have now set the Default Value settings for each field, this will force it to retrieve the values we've stored using the new process and display these values in the form.
I think I've detailed everything - if this doesn't work, please let me know!

Region Fades Ignored when Region Gain Below -12dB

I set fade-in and fade-outs to my regions and realized some of them didn't work. I deleted fade files (in case they were corrputed) and re-adjusted fades to re-trigger the rendering of that fade. Still the region popped in with 100% volume and was not being faded. After some searching I found the error:
I set the region gain in the region inspector to -15dB. And fades don't work until you step from -13dB to -12dB. When I set the region gain to -12dB, fades suddenly start to work. On -13dB they don't and regions pop in at 100% volume.
I reported this as a bug. There are simple workarounds but still, should anybody come across this, I hope my post helps.

Partially refresh the sql report region by clicking the region selector tab

In my page i have a region display selector tab. This region selector tab contain show all,booking,service,.. etc. when i click the booking tab,sql report region will appear. My intention is when i click the booking tab i want to refresh that region partially to display the record according to sql query in that region source of report region.
how to do this?

Changing Region 2 DVD to Region 1 DVD

I want to buy a Region 2 DVD and change it to a Region 1 so I can play it on a standard US DVD player. Is there anyway to do this with Final Cut Studio? Thanks

Assuming it's a commercially produced DVD - It's against the law. However the only way you could do it is 'rip' the MPEG2 from your DVD and re-burn using DVD Studio Pro where you can re-set the region code.
The Region 2 will be PAL - bear this in mind with any conversion

Fussy DVD Player; will play Region 0 but plays Region 1 only occasionally.

DVD player has been freezing more of late but I have blamed that on library usage and mishandling of DVDs up to now. Now the problem has worsened to the point that most of the time commercial mainstream movies DVDs (region 1) will not play.
The flat 17" iMac has always been set on Region 1 and never been changed. I used a Region 2 disc just to see if it was recognized like my Region 0, which it was. I have not switched the 17' iMac from Region 1. Apparently commercially produced Region 1 DVDs are more demanding. I upgraded to OS 10.4.11 and the problem remains. However sometimes a Region 1 DVD will play after frequent tries. My thinking is that this may be a hardware issue, like the laser is dirty or faulty, maybe firmware, but not a software one. The 17 " iMac is now five years old and the DVD player has been in use everyday.
Why the difference in playback between Region 0 and Region 1? How come it will recognize a Region 2 disc but only rarely a Region 1? Has anyone else had a similar problem and resolved it? Any suggestions on how to fix a dirty or faulty laser? Is there a firmware fix?

You don't say where you are, but I suspect it is the USA?
Your DVD Player is set for the region where you purchased your Mac. Region 1 is the USA, Region 2 is Europe. (Region 0 is non-regional, for the DVDs you make yourself, and has no effect on the following).
You can only change that setting up to five times, after which it is carved in stone for all eternity, as it is embedded in the firmware of your Superdrive. There is no hack for making a Mac multi-regional like there is for stand-alone DVD players.
If you want to play DVDs from a different region to your own, use your stand-alone DVD player and TV, not the Mac!

For that, I have created a "Hide Show Region on Title Click" Region Template
Create a new Region Template through Shared Components. This should be created "From Scratch" as there is only one setting in the template that requires any content. When that has been created, edit the template and copy the following into the "Template" setting:

How to align diff. search region items where one region is HideShow region

I have split my 1 search region into 3 regions, because I want to use a hideShow region for a number of parameters. This is a manual search.
The structure is as follows:

I added another regions between the hideShow regions and the item, of type messageComponentLayout and that aligned everything as it should be.

Hello there,
I changed the region at System Preferences>International>Formats by mistake and now I can't find the previous location.
The previous one was set to "Argentina (English)" and now I can only find "Argentina (Spanish)"... This changes some preferences that I would like to have as before....
Any ideas?

Well, I changed the region by mistake, (it used to say "Argentina (English)") and when I wanted to put that back I only found "Argentina (Spanish)" which changes the Dates, Times & Numbers format.

How do I copy just the main region of a looped region & not the looped bits?
Sometimes on the last iteration of a loop, I want to make a slight change in the notes, and therefore need to insert and actual copy. When I copy the original region and paste it, it overwrites everything that follows...deleting a whole bunch of arranging that I just did. Is there a command to copy only the original region? Otherwise I have to unloop the region, copy, insert, and reloop the region. Thanks

Either you have a lot of Pages breaks which you can delete or you have aded a Pages break which you also can delete. Turn on the invisible characters View > Show Invisibles. You will see blue characters.
