LR 1.1 Improves Greatly on Image Starting Point.

Has anyone else noticed how much better LR 1.1 does compared with LR 1.0 providing the image starting point upon import? I don't think I'm dreaming it but would like some affirmations -- or NOT.
I use a 20d and a linear tone curve.

Think you might just be right there. For broad spectrum images I do feel there is some improvement in the initial view, either that or my eye sight has improved over the last two weeks :-). Not for *Reds* though which are as terrible as ever. It's said that they chose a sample of cameras (in my case 30D) to set the calibration but I can't believe that the variance in production for the 30D was so great that the models chosen by Adobe for the calibration gave such good Reds whilst at the same time it has been mentioned time and time again on this forum that the *Reds* are just darn horrible.

How can I improve quality of image when burning a movie to a DVD?

What resolution are you using?  If the DVD is to be playable on an ordinary DVD player, only ordinary TV resolution is supported.  You need Blue ray for HD.

  • Hey Friends - Trying to improve my video image on Dish Anywhere

Hey Friends - First inquiry to this forum. I'm trying to improve my video image on Dish anywhere app to TV in my home in MI from CO. I installed the new AirPort Extreme 6 in both locations but it does not appear to have improved the quality. Can my old AirPort Extreme 4 be used as an antenna on the Dish receiver? I'm using Airplay on the TV and wonder if this is the best I can expect or if here is anything else I can do to improve video quality. Thanks for your help.

Streaming video, especially HD video over the Internet requires sufficient bandwidth for video quality. That would mean, in addition to having the proper bandwidth on each of the local networks in MI & CO, the Internet connection between locations must also be able to handle the streaming traffic.
Most consumer-grade Internet service offers far better download speeds than upload. However both will be required in this case.

  • Images Started to be Offset

    Hello
We are developing a website for a client and are constantly reviewing our progress using Safari. A year or so ago we updated 2 of our iMacs from Safari 5.1.7 to the next version and all of a sudden images on the web pages were offset. It was as if the HTML/CSS/Javascript was not being interpreted properly. However if you clicked on to another page and then returned all would be well!
This was so frustrating that we painfully reverted back to 5.1.7 and thankfully the problem went away. Another designer in the studio soldiered on continuing to update his Safari so that we could monitor if an update fixed the problem. It still offsets the images.
Curiously I have just purchased a new Mac Pro with OS X 10.8.2 (Mountain Lion) and Safari 6.0.1 and I haven't experienced the problem.
It almost seems as if some external source is upsetting how Safari interprets the HTML/CSS/Javascript as my clean Mac Pro has not yet been subjected to it and so displays the web page correctly.
If anyone has any advice or has seen this I would be very interested to hear from you.
    Thanks
    Chris

    Hi
I made a mistake and can't see how to edit my question above. It was Safari 4.0.5 which worked well and the next update after this was when our images started to disappear off the side of the page.
    Thanks
    Chris

  • Numbering: Import v Image v Sequence - How do these work? Can they be set to arbitrary start points?

I have been searching where ever I can but I can't seem to find a good explanation of the difference between "Import Number," "Image Number" and "Sequence Number."
In LR4 I was able to specify a start number for sequencing the image reference numbers.
I would like to be able to specify that start number and have LR remember where it left off for the next time I import so I have continuously increasing numbers across imports until the next time I need to reset.
Thanks for any information you can provide or links to the information.

    OK. A simple experiment reveals:
Import# - Ever increasing number for each import. If this is used without another dynamic numbering (ie image#) it will append -# to the end of the filename. (ex. PHOTO001, PHOTO001-2, PHOTO001-3 etc.)
Image# - Ever increasing number for each image across imports (Half of what I was looking for)
Sequence# - Increasing number for each import. Resets to 0 each time.
    The question still remains though.
Can the start points be manually set?
    Thanks.

  • Confirmation activity:start time greater than remaining start time

    Hello Experts
While CIFing Production orders I am getting the above error "confirmation activity:start time greater than remaining start time". or sometimes the error says "invalid confirmed start time of an activity"
I have checked the inter operation times for the operations & have ensured that the Min & max values are same.
I have attached the screen shot also.
    Kindly advise
    Regards
    Soum

    Hello,
I guess you háve implemented BAdI method MODIFY_AFTER_MERGE (/sapapo/cl_ex_cif_ip in SE18).
    Deactivate it.
The mentioned error means that an activity has its  start date larger than confirmed date that's wrong for liveCache.

  • Windows Backup fails to complete and System shows 29 Restore Points all titled "System Image restore point" but none will work.

Problems both seemed to appear about the same time and may be related.
Had backups on an  external drive prior to the problem and appeared to be working. I have since cleaned the external drive in an attempt to start a new backup series but it continues to stop and report backup has failed.
The System restore was working fine and one day it had changed all the existing Restore Points to "System Image restore point"
but still showed all the different dates.  In the System Properties window it indicates that there are 0 bytes in "current usages",
which I assume they are all empty but I can't create any new ones. I get Error code 0x80042308.
I have tried the Clean Boot with no results. I use MS Security Essentials for virus protection.
I have no other symptoms or problems on the PC.
About ready for a Recovery and start all over.

    Hi,
Your first step should be to run chkdsk /r /f on all the drives in that computer. Shadow copy errors are often caused by disk problems (usually minor) which chkdsk will find and correct.
Also, this issue can be caused that VSS dlls are corrupted.
Re-install the VSS dlls by following these steps:
    a. Using command prompt, CD to the WINDOWS\system32 directory
    b. Stop the Volume Shadow Copy service by executing the command "net stop vss"
    c. Register the following DLLs and services by executing these commands:
    regsvr32 ole32.dll
    regsvr32 vss_ps.dll
    Vssvc /Register
    regsvr32 /i swprv.dll
    regsvr32 /i eventcls.dll
    regsvr32 es.dll
    regsvr32 stdprov.dll
    regsvr32 vssui.dll
    regsvr32 msxml.dll
    regsvr32 msxml3.dll
    regsvr32 msxml4.dll
    Hope these could be helpful.

  • New on Game Develop - I need a Start Point :)

    Hi,
I know that this must be the topic most common, I develop applications to client/Server and I want to venture me in the development of a game (RPG). The problem is that I do not know where to start! Which are the class that I must use? Already exists some api in java to help me? If yes, which are they? The map, the players. I intend to make a basic game in 2d, as lufia (SNES), Final Phantasy VI (USA III - SNES). Which must be my starting point?
    Thanks for all !

The beauty of Java is, pretty much everything you need is right there available.
There are other API's apart from the java standard, but I have not used any as of yet.
Java2D API is part of the standard edition java. It will handle transparency and everything else you may need to do an snesRPG clone.
Instance modeling will save you scads of time, make sure you know how to make and extend abstract classes, they will make your life easier, make sure you know how to time Threads properly.
The map will be a class, the class will actually serve as a sort of database for inividual tiles on the map. The class will be instanced from a 2 dimensional array with x and y values being the dimensions. You will need to have 3 or four layers of this map. The class will store the possition, image, and other important iformation about the individual tile.
You need to learn MediaTracker, you will most likely want to use AWT instead of Swing, you will need to learn how to use BufferedImage, etc.
Plan Plan Plan, and Plan more. RPG's are big projects, if you use linux, dia is your friend.
Work on little things like logic while you learn the other stuff you need such as Randoms, how to implement monsters and characters, and make them do battle, how to tell if they are dead, attacking, etc.
An RPG takes a very stubborn individual to successfully complete as one man project, if it doesn't work, there is a reason, find out what it is, and yes it has been done before in java. :-)
I have been assuming you are a good programmer, therefore I just scartched the surface for you to show you some of the things you need to plan for to get into game programming.

  • View all what I have done from a specific start point or time frame ?

While I am Creating A Controlling Area,  and Defining a Cost Center Standard Hierarchy
get a phone call or meeting.   Need to get back to keep going,  is there a way or a T-Code to view all what I have done from a specific start point or time frame ?

Greatly appreciate every single reply from all of you.
    I did access T-Code SE10, and attached a screen.
The most confusing thing i have ever seen
I was hoping for some type of report that looks like an Excel sheet where it can give better details.

  • Start point don't work

    Hello experts,
A VC problem, in design view.
I have an abap function that i checked(test & retrieve info from abap).
In the design view I have an input form, abap function & table view. All working great but... without default values. I try to add some default values(start point), but
    no change occur.
    Thenks in advanced,
    Nadav Finish

Since this is a form I guess you want the default values displayed to the user before sending them to the function.
Try adding the default values in the form fields' control properties dialogues. Under general tab you will find the Default value field.

  • A good starting point.....

    Hi ,
I think the doc located at the following link:
    http://www.oreillynet.com/pub/a/network/2003/11/10/oracle_spatial.html?page=1
is good enough as a starting point .... in order to be understood easily and quickly some 'difficult' concepts , notions of Spatial data....
    Regards,
    Simon

I recommend that you use the Sun Tutorial here http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/
It has detailed instructions and will expose you to some of the details of Java that you will sooner or later have to learn.
Using NB is ok, as long as you use it in an intelligent manner. That is, don't use it as a crutch, to hide the guts of Java from you - you'll never learn Java that way. Use it when it helps you do something, not because it'll do something for you that you can't do for yourself. Be aware that using an IDE will incur a greater learning curve, as you have to learn both the IDE and Java. I recommend using Nb only as a program editor until you are somewhat proficient in the basics of Java syntax and language rules.
In my experience, there's very little said here that relies on knowledge of other languages - other thatn general programming concepts. What you're seeing is probably just that.

  • Can I make starting point same to every version of Illustrator?

Hi. I made a simple script.
    var docRef = activeDocument;
    var X = 0;
    var Y = 0;
    var rect = docRef.pathItems.rectangle(X, Y, 10, 10);
And, It makes different result between CS3 and CS5.
    (See below capture image please.)
I want to make starting point same to every version of Illustrator.
    Can I do that?
If you have answer, please share me.
    Thank you for reading.

    Hi CarlosCanto
I saw your script. (JS - change CS5 Ruler Origin to bottom/left (like CS4))
Thank you for share this script.
    And I have a question.
Where do you find 'isRulerOriginTopLeft' keyword?
I checked JAVASCRIPT REFERENCE CS5 and JAVASCRIPT TOOLS GUIDE. But there is not 'isRulerOriginTopLeft' keyword.
    What I missed?

  • How to clear screen on eks-lm38962 OLED back to starting point

I am just starting out with LabVIEW for micro controllers and have a project that is about to be due. I have a Stellaris eks-lm38962 board that I download the program to. The point of the project is to draw pixels on the OLED screen similarly to an Etch-A-Sketch. I have everything completed except one small problem. My display is supposed to clear out when i press the select button and then start back at 0-0 (top left). My screen clears but the cursor stays where it left off. I have no idea how to get the cursor to go back to the starting point. If anyone can offer any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it. I attached a screen shot of my block diagram. Case 16 is the one displayed because that is the one giving me problems. I need some way to tell the clear display icon to start back over at 0,0 whenever I press select. Thanks in advance.
