LR 1.3 Locks up completely

This issue is a continuation since ver 1.0. Sometime when bringing up the program it locks up. Other times it comes up fine but then when you move to a different module the program locks up. In either case, nothing else is being run at the same time. I have to force a program exits and USUALLY in order to get the program to work again I must reboot my pc. This feels like a memory leak issue as when the program does work after a period of use the situation above presents itself. System is a 3ghz Pent4 with 2gb memory and plenty of hard drive space running XP Pro sp2.
Do not have this problem with any other Adobe product (CS3, CS2, Bridge, Elements 5)

1. If you are really on iOS 7.1, you may wish to try upgrading to 8.1.2 which is the latest (basing this on your signature).
2. If updating the phone doesn't help, is this only when you connect to a specific wifi network? Or all wifi networks (including public with no password)? If it is ALL wifi networks, you may have a hardware problem. Genius bar would be the next step.

Firefox runs slowly or locks up completely

When I am on websites (many different ones such as Facebook, Yahoo mail, and many other sites that I visit) Facebook slows down to the point where it takes several minutes for a 'click' to register, or the program locks up completely and I have to force quit and start over. I haven't had this problem until I upgraded to Firefox 5.0. Now, it happens all the time. I love Firefox, and have always preferred it to other browsers...until this started happening.

Please give some details; what computers systems, what Firefox version?

Notebook reliably locks up completely - cold restart required

I have a Fujitsu P7120 notebook. I bought it used several years ago and I love it, despite its age. It was very reliable and stable...but a bit slow. I decided to upgrade the stock 4400RPM drive with an SSD (http://www.kingspec.com/solid-state-dis … f-mlcj.htm), and that's where the problems started.
Honestly, I don't know if the problem is the SSD, but I never had this problem before.
Now, after powering up just fine, the notebook WILL freeze. I can't say when. Sometimes, it's just a few minutes. Sometimes hours. But always less than a day. It freezes hard. Only a complete cold restart will work.
It's VERY frustrating. The SSD is MUCH faster. It has given a new lease on life to this fanless wonder.
I've installed from scratch more than once, and did a complete fsck of the drive. None of it helps. Since this problem didn't exist before I installed the SSD, I suspect that this is the problem.
My install is a standard Arch install with X and OpenBox WM and Grub bootloader. I've read a bit about the new GPT partition table replacement. Might this help?

Just wanted to add onto this that I have the exact same problem. I've got Arch (well, ArchBang - I'll be doing a plain Arch install soon to see if that's somehow the problem) installed on an Asus G73JH. Wonderful machine, everything works like a dream, except for it hard locking every now and then. Now, this baby has a 600GB 7200RPM HDD in it, so this problem might not be strictly related to your SSD - unless the causes are completely separate and unrelated, which is always possible. I'll try to get some more detailed information up here when I have some more time, but right now it's crunch time, and I just wanted to post a quick "me too!" while I had time.

Arch randomly locks up completely.

I have been having this issue for a while. I tried to get it solved on another forum, to no avail. This is frustrating me, so hopefully I don't rub off as rude.
So, here's the scoop. Arch will just randomly freeze up. LED's like caps lock, scroll lock, touchpad off/on and others will completely freeze. Pressing them has no effect. The keyboard is rendered useless, I can't do anything with it. X itself just completely freezes. It's very odd. I always have to hard reboot the computer by pressing and holding the power button for several seconds. In the last freeze, which just happened about an hour ago, my system actually dropped to the console. But it still froze there. I studied the output on the frozen screen, and there was nothing that helped with debugging at all. It was all routine sorta stuff.
This happens very randomly. In all my efforts to trace this issue to a common problem, I have failed. What's odd is that Pacman will freeze sometime during an operation. it will produce no debugging output. it just freezes and hangs there infinitely. I have to Control + C and restart the operation to continue. This is not as common as the namesake of this thread, however, but it is worth mentioning.
I've snooped around in /var/log after every crash, and I can't ever find any error or obvious problems. It seems as if the system is running great. However, as noted above, this last crash was odd (in comparison to the other ones) and did produce 3 lines in errors.log. I'm not sure if these errors actually apply to the crash though, as I didn't not know if it occurred right afterwards. All i can tell you is that these 3 lines are the only thing that is even relevant in the 10 or so times this has happened. Here they are:-

Recently I experienced this bug. It is reproduced when I try to open some web-pages with Firefox. One of these is http://www.linguee.com/german-english/t … nisse.html Symptoms is a short two fold screen blinking followed with a hang up with no keyboard/mouse response. My machine is a laptop, I use no external video outputs. Write-lock the complete database

Hello,
One of my transactions changes many records in the database and often I need 30 and
more tries, until the transaction is done without deadlocks.
Is there a chance to simply write-lock the database (and block other transaction) until this
expensive transaction has finished?
Is this impossible?

I would suggest starting by reviewing the information in chapters 9 and 14 in the Reference Guide ("Berkeley DB Transactional Data Store Applications", "The Locking Subsystem"):

If your application behavior allows for multiple-reader/single writer access to the database then you might want to consider setting up with CDS (Concurrent Data Store); this is presented in chapter 8 in the Reference Guide ("Berkeley DB Concurrent Data Store Applications").
The above documentation should help you resolve this; if not, provide more information on how your application performs work (i.e. how many threads are writing concurrently, if you're using transactional cursors for writing, if you enclose reads in transactions, if you read records, analyze them and subsequently update them, what flags are set for transactions, databases, etc).

IMovie 11 is locking up completely (Never ending SBOD) whenever I launch it, making it completely unusable. Anyway to "reset" it?

I just purchased a new 27" iMac. I successfully imported a huge (27k) photo library into iPhoto. When I launched iMovie, it asked (if I remember correctly) whether it was ok to index whatever videos were in iPhoto. I said sure, iMovie then spend some time indexing (or generating thumbnails, or whatever) the movies. However, after that, iMovie locked up. When I Option+Command+Esc 'ed, it showed iMovie was unresponsive, so I forced quit. Now, every time I try and start iMovie, it is locked, and I immediately get the SBOD. Any ideas on how to remedy this?

The file "com.apple.iMovieApp.plist" is the preference file for iMovie '11. The file for iMovie '09 is "com.apple.iMovie8.plist". Earlier versions will have a similar name - all will show iMovie, with some having a version number, but others having no version number. It's safe to delete any .plist files for any version of iMovie. Always close iMovie first, then delete the .plist file. Mac locked up completely. Mouse, screen.

Hello, this is my very first Mac and I tried searching the community for an answer but I can't seem to come up with anything.
I bought the MacBook Pro 15" i7 retina display YESTERDAY. Trying to find my way around this morning and it locked up. The house won't move, the screen won't move and I don't have the first clue as to what I should do.
Exactly what happened is:
I clicked on downloads.
I saw the install file for google chrome that I put on last night at the recommendation of a friend
I dragged it into trash because I didn't think I needed it and I wasn't going to use google chrome
It locked.
It's been like that for 20 minutes.

That is very strange behavior, instead if you have a mouse and can right-click, or if not do a Control-click with the mouse or trackpad, and see if you can just choose Delete on Chrome. Dragging to the trash should not be locking up like that unless there is something really strange about the Chrome installation.

An additional note.
After responding to Kenichi above, I decided to add "Automatically Fill Free Space With Songs" to my sync menu, and iTunes then appeared to do so. It showed adding 67 songs to fill the free space not taken by the Playlists already synced. Then it gives the "iPod Sync is Complete, OK To Disconnect" message.
But when disconnected there appears to be nothing on the iPod. The problem remains.

ENVY 17 1181NR Locking Up Completely

My Envy 17 1181NR has been locking up sometimes several times a day for the past two months. By this I mean the moue and keyboard no longer work as well as the screen freezing. The harddrive and eventually the fans go silent. I can't seem to pinpoint any particular program or activity causing this.
I don't think it's overheating to shutdown, as usually it would give a blue/black screen informing me of that. (Although of course as many other owners of the early Envy 17 models, I'm used to my laptop sitting in temperature ranges of 90-100C. I always use a laptop cooler and I've even replaced the thermal paste but that only worked for a little while.)
It's running Windows 8.1 64bit and as far as I can tell, the drivers are all updated.
I'd really appreciate some troubleshooting or repair help, thank you.

Web IC Call List Message - Call locked,completed picked up by another agent

For certain Call Lists in the CRM 2007 Web IC, when a call is selected there is a warning message to say that the "Call has been picked up by another agent, locked or completed" .
In the execution progress for the call list in CRM (CRMD_TM_CLDIST - Call List Maintenance ). All the calls have the status ready.None of the calls have the status - locked,executing,completed,cancelled,rescheduled or overdue.
What would be causing this to happen.
Any help on this would be greatly appreaciated,

System lock ups when using hard disks

At first I thought I had the same issue as in this thread however after reading his logs I decided that it is unlikely since the topic opener seems to be getting a bunch of

, so I decided to start a new thread.
I am not getting anything in my logs when I look at them after the crashes. It seems as if whatever is causing the issue makes it impossible to write to the drives so nothing seems out of place until after it's too late, and quite obvious that something is wrong. The sole exception to this was some complaint about ata9.00, however this seems to have been a red haring since the complete removal of this drive solved nothing, though it did make the error go away.
I have run memtest, and prime95 (in windows since at the time I didn't want to boot my system) both coming back negative. I also checked for SMART errors, particularly UDMA errors. Again, negative.

Last night I was writing urandom to a new drive and I woke up in the morning to see that it had stopped prematurely, but not due to lack of space. The system had not locked up completely, which was new, however, as soon as I did something that accessed the disks (tried using the Gnome Dash), all hell broke loose. I immediately hit the power button, which would start a shutdown. I didn't know about REISUB, or I would have tried that. In anycase the shutdown failed and I had to hard reboot.
The evening before I was playing games just fine and doing normal activities.
Also, the other day, while booted into the live cd I think it started to crash since it was acting extremely bizarre, but I shutdown, successfully, before it could do more than complain a lot. At the time I was in the middle of scrubbing a btrfs volume after a system lock up. I think, but am not certain, that I saw on my motherboard "A5" which, according to the manual indicates "SCSI reset", but I had an extremely bad viewing angle. I know neither if what I think I saw was correct, nor do I know if the system was again in the process of a meltdown.
In general there is no activity that seems to be able to instantly trigger this, though in each case, if my memory serves me well, there was a constant stream of data either to or from a HDD.
My set up is that I have 5 HDDs, and an SSD. One HDD has Windows, my fallback installation of Arch, and daily backups. Another drive, which I just installed a few days ago currently only has single 50GB btrfs partition that is not part of any sort of larger volume. I also have three other drives each with four parttitions each involved in a btrfs volume. At the top is a 175 GB volume in a RAID0 configuration, after that is a 25GB partiton in RAID1, then a 650GB partion (RAID1), and the remainder of the disk (about 80GB) is in single. The RAID0 is has games on it and sometimes for short term storage (a few hours), the 25GBx3 RAID1 is used for Arch as well my ~/.local, ~/.cache, ~/.thunderbird, ~/.mozilla, and ~/.config. The 50GB partition I mentioned is currently doing the job of this volume, and was not mounted last night, but has been before. The 650GBx3 is used for long term storage of just about everything, in particular ~ is mounted here. The single configured volume is used for downloads, storing ISOs and installers. The SSD is used for caching those partitions used in the RAID0 volume with bcache. I DO NOT think this is a bcache issue since the RAID0 volume has never had any errors.
My motherboard is a ASUS X79-DELUXE which has the SATA controllers: Intel X79 Express Chipset, Marvell 9230, ASMedia 1061.
[edit] Oh, I'm on kernel 3.19.2 and btrfs is 3.19.

nstgc : it's hard to tell if your problems are memory related, but memtst often needs multiple passes to detect errors.
How many passes did you let it make ?
Is it possible for you to take out say half of the memory chips and see if that changes anything ?

Display and lock up problems with 3 week old MBP!!!

Hi all,
I hope that someone here can help with a scary problem that I have experienced with my (otherwise perfect!!) MBP!!
Occasionally, so far always after a boot up or wake up (but never on the login screen!), the MBP will lock up completely and the display will become corrupted as in the images I have posted below (fingers crossed!)!
As I said, it locks up the MBP so that the only action I can take is to force a reboot by pressing the On/Off button for the required amount of time.
I took the MBP to an Apple shop after making an appointment with a Genius (wonderful, lovely Spanish girl, name of Eva!!!!). Sadly, as the symptoms could not be recreated in the shop there was not a lot Eva could do, she did recommend a re-install of OS X, and also suggested that I let them have the MBP for a day so that they could hook it up to something (for a full eight hours!!) or other and test it. Eva did say that she had not seen the problem before (I took my camera to the shop and showed her the pics of the screen), but that it did not look good!!
So, I decided to take it back home and ask for help here!!!!
Any advice would be welcome!!!

i would go back and show them these pics, also try doing stuff that is graphics intensive, my guess is that you have a bad video card, doing things that heat it up should get it to happen
one thing that you can use stress the vid car is the opengl example programs included with XCode (its included with the programs on the CD that came with the computer), so i recommend opening a few of those, and then doing a few `yes>/dev/null` in the terminal, also make the window semi-transparent, and put it on top of quicktime playing some movies, that should help stress the video card and put extra heat on it
if you can get that to consistently cause the problem then take it back to Apple
