LR 1.3 Mac os x 10.5 intel and epson R800

Question

While most problems with Leopard seem to have been corrected, we still can not print accurately from LR 1.3 to the Epson R800. The Epson 3800 prints just fine, as it did before, but the 3.09 Mac driver for the R800 is doing weird things with LR.
When we open the same picture from LR in PS CS3, do a print with color manager by PS using Epson PLPP and no color correction in the driver, it prints fine. The same with printing from Aperture.
When we use the exact same settings printing from LR, no color mgmnt in printer and the same profile as PS CS3, the print comes light and dull, like the black ink is not getting to the paper.
This does not happen when we do it to the 3800.
We are using Intel iMac with 3GB RAM, two displays. We are fairly experienced printers and photogs, so we really think the issue here is either double color management, or another weird problem inside LR.

No, you still don't get it...Lightroom is a Cocoa app...it uses Cocoa printing APIs...therefore, print drivers will have to be rev'ed to support those Cocoa APIs...the 3800 (6.10) DOES...the earlier 3.5x drivers won't under Leopard.
What's the driver version of your R800? Something like 3.09? The odds are REAL GOOD (since Epson hasn't released an updated driver for that printer yet) that it's not been updated.
So, you are just gonna have to wait for Epson to rev the drivers, use Tiger instead of Leopard or print out of Photoshop CS3 (which is a Carbon app and uses the Carbon APIs) or not print.
You may not _LIKE IT_ but those are your options...
