LR 3 is pointing to an old (uninstalled) version of PS

Hello - I have LR 3 and Photoshop CS5. (And I previously had Photoshop CS3 and CS4, both of which I've uninstalled.)  For some reason LR's "Edit In" command thinks my main external editor is CS3 (vs. CS5).  (The first choice for the "Edit In" command is "Edit In C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop CS3\Photoshop...")  And in Edit -> Preferences -> External Editing, it shows the same thing for the primary external editor -- and I don't see any way to change this.
I did set up the Additional External Editor to point to Photoshop CS5, so I do have a functioning workaround.  But, it would be nice if I didn't have to do so.  Any ideas on how to get LR 3 to recognize that I have Photoshop CS5 installed?   Thanks!

You might want to have a look at this TechNote from Adobe about it.

  • Why does the "Edit in" window in Lightroom takes me to an old uninstalled version of Photoshop

    I have Lightroom 4.2 and Photoshop extended CS6. When in Lightroom I ope the "Edit in" Window it leads to an older version that I have unistalled. I have tried Unistalling Lightroom 4.2 an Install it again to no effect.

    The reasoning's spot on, but it's Photoshop to reinstall, not LR.  Here you go: http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/multi/edit-photoshop-command-missing-photoshop.html

  • My published setup.exe is detecting old UNINSTALLED version of my app and refuses to install (even after Reg sweep).

    (question moved.)
    I would suspect your MSI is not removing previous versions of your app prior to installing the current version of your app because it wasn't created properly. I use Install Shield limited edition to create MSI's. However I've not tried using it to remove
    previously installed revs of the same app if one exists. And even then if the previously installed app had some sort of files you didn't want removed that would have to be considered somehow in case the new rev needed to keep those files for some reason.
    Unless you created your own installation .exe which can be done. Then the code in it is not working to do that.

  • Picture Library : upload image with same name overwrite the image in thumbmail or WebVersion view but not the actual image link points to the old image

    Hello,
    I am facing a wired issue with Picture Libraries in SharePoint.
    We created a custom field and added it to UserInfo list, the column based on custom field lets user upload their personal images to a Picture Library with the name <User ID>.<Image Extension> e.g. 1.jpg where UserID is internal Listitem ID of the UserInfo list and set its URL to the field value which we use to display the image on our custom user profile and some other WebParts.
    If the user uploads a different image, it will overwrite the existing one it keeping the same name.
    The field worked perfectly with sites using widows Based authentication, but as we move the field to sites with form based authentication we find that the field is able to upload the image properly first time but on each successive upload, although a new image gets uploaded with the name userid.imagextension and is shown in the allitems.aspx page in the thumbnail view and in the picture preview on the dispform.aspx page, but the link next to the name field and the image shown on clicking the preview points to the old image.
    To put it other way
    https://<Web URL>/Picture%20Library/_w/Upload_jpg.jpg
    https://<Web Url>/Picture%20Library/_t/Upload_jpg.jpg
    Would show the updated image
    but the actual URL
    https://<Web Url>/Picture%20Library/Upload.jpg
    points to the old image
    what’s even more strange is that even after deleting the image the url still shows the old image at
    https://<Web Url>/Picture%20Library/Upload.jpg
    I confirmed the same by actually repeating the same exercise on a picture Library in the User Interface
    Uploading an image say upload.jpeg in the picture library using SharePoint interface.
    Then uploading a different jpeg image keeping the same name upload.jpeg again in the picture library.
    In allitems.aspx thumbnail view and on dispform.aspx page preview filed image now show the newly uploaded image but when you click the preview image or click the link in the name field value it takes you back to the old image.
    I have seen this issue on environment where we have enabled form based authentication and the issue is not seen on another server where we have wss with windows based authentication.
    Has anyone noticed such behavior and is there any workaround to that!
    Thanks & Regards

    All,
    I had the same issue.
    In my case, Blob Cache was enabled for the web application in which the image issue was occuring.
    I cleared blob cache, and after doing a hard refresh of my browser, the correct image was then displayed.
    To clear blob cache, do the following:
    Navigate to:
    http://yourwebapp:port/yoursite/_layouts/objectcachesettings.aspx
    Select:  "Object Cache Flush"  and  "Force all servers in the farm to flush their object cache" check boxes
    Click the OK button
    Hope this helps.

  • After unlink or unthread the last text frame, it still points to the old story

    Hi,
    I used 'kTextUnlinkCmdBoss' to unlink the last text frame from the thread, however, after the command is processed if I access the textModel of the box as follows it still points to the old model:
    InterfacePtr<IGeometry> srcgeometry(srcbox,UseDefaultIID());
    if(srcgeometry==NULL) break;
    InterfacePtr<IMultiColumnTextFrame> srctextframe(srcbox.GetDataBase(), Utils<IFrameUtils>()->GetTextFrameUID(srcgeometry), UseDefaultIID());
    if(srctextframe==NULL) break;
    InterfacePtr<ITextModel> srctextmodel(srctextframe->QueryTextModel());
    if(srctextmodel==NULL) break;
    Is there any way to force refresh the textModel info related with the text frame? Of course, if I checked the textModel later, it's properly assigned with new one, it's just problem of the info is not refreshed on the same execution cycle.
    Thanks,
    Doil

    Hi Dirk,
    Thanks for the response. I tried the following, however, it didn't work, it still returns the same result:
    InterfacePtr<IHierarchy> fh(thebox,UseDefaultIID());
    ASSERT(fh);
    if (!fh) {
    break;
    InterfacePtr<IHierarchy> multiColumnItemHierarchy(fh->QueryChild(0));
    ASSERT(multiColumnItemHierarchy);
    if (!multiColumnItemHierarchy) {
    break;
    InterfacePtr<IMultiColumnTextFrame> mctf(multiColumnItemHierarchy, UseDefaultIID());
    ASSERT(mctf);
    if (! mctf) {
    break;
    UID storyUID = mctf->GetTextModelUID();

  • Bug:Java install should remove old uninstall entries when updating in-place

    Assume I have installed an (old) version of Java (under 64bit Win7)..
    Now I download a newer/newest version of Java JDK and start installation process.
    When prompted I tell the procedure to install JAva JDK in the SAME directory as the previous version.
    So the old version does NOT exist any more afterwards.
    Everything works fine except the fact that afterwards there is still the uninstall entry of the old version alive.
    Java installation procedure should automatically remove these old uninstall entries.
    I guess Oracle Java development team thinks users will install new Java versions always in different directories (which is not a must).
    I think this is a bug or at least a feature request.
    Where can I officially tell oracle to fix it?
    Is there an official bug/feature request form?
    Thx
    Peter

    Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
    *Firefox 20.0.x: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
    Uninstall your current Firefox version, if possible, to cleanup the Windows registry and settings in security software.
    *Do NOT remove personal data when you uninstall your current Firefox version, because all profile folders will be removed and you will also lose your personal data like bookmarks and passwords from profiles of other Firefox versions.
    Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
    *It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.

  • I just installed Creative Suite 6 and want to know if I can uninstall versions 5 and 5.5

    I just installed Creative Suite 6 and want to know if I can uninstall versions 5 and 5.5

    Adobe upgrade installers are always full installers and do not need to find a previous version installed.  If they don't , they just prompt you for the old serial number as well as the new one.
    That being said, if you plan to uninstall older versions, the time to do so is BEFORE you install the newer version.  The problem is that when you run the uninstaller for each older version, they will in turn mess with the newer installation iof already present. There are just too many similarly named files in similar locations for each version.
    If you already have CS6 installed, running the CS5 and CS5.5 uninstaller will mess with your existing CS6 installation.
    At this point, you're better off uninstalling all three versions, running the Adobe CS Cleaner and then re-installing CS6 from scratch.
    I know, it sounds like a pain—and it is—but it will save you a lot of grief later on.

    I use an Iphone 4 which had to be replaced recently. However when i did a backup it was on the new IOS version 7, but now that my phone was replaced and i am back on the old IOS version 6 i how do i restore my backup??
    When i try to restore my Back up using Itunes this is the message i get - "Unable to restore backup as the software is old - Please setup as a new device and then try to restore your backup" - Please advise. If i do so are there any chances of loosing my data. At this point in time i would be happy if i could just retreive my contacts list. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Nope - you cannot restore a backup from a newer iOS version on to a device running an older iOS version.  The reverse works, but in your case to use your backup, you must update to iOS 7.0.3 - no other option if you want to use that backup.

  • Can I uninstall version 9 and put back version 8 ?

    I upgraded to version 9 of itunes but I don't like it, I liked the old show by genre on home page instead of the new itunes peddling particular artist and albums. Can I uninstall version 9 and put back version 8 ? does this matter to my iphone ?

    You can go back to version 8, but it isn't easy. iTunes 9 has already upgraded your library and you'll have to find your backup library to use with iTunes 8.
    I have found that the iTunes 9 store interface offers some advantages, but it takes some exploring to find everything. You can use the down arrows that appear as you mouse over each category at the top of the iTunes store home page to display whatever you like. For example, display a page of only music in a particular genre:
    Here is a tutorial in using the iTunes 9 store: http://www.apple.com/itunes/how-to/#video-explore
    If you really want to go back to iTunes 8, see this thread: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2157090&tstart=180

  • Install old program version with pacman

    Hi,
    I'm new to Arch, but not to Linux. (2 years Kubuntu, a bit of Debian and Gentoo)
    I would like to use kaffeine 0.8.5, because in 0.8.6 somehow the option for changing the record format is missing.
    My question is if I can install kaffeine 0.8.5 using pacman, and then use the IgnorePkg option in pacman.conf.
    I know that I could download 0.8.5 from the homepage, but I would prefer pacman if it is possible.
    Greeting, yodo

    Thank you, I found an old kaffeine version here: http://ftp.parrswood.manchester.sch.uk/ … a/os/i686/
    Looks like this now:
    johannes@omega:~$ sudo pacman -Syu
    :: Synchronisiere Paketdatenbanken...
    core ist aktuell
    extra ist aktuell
    community ist aktuell
    kdemod ist aktuell
    :: Starte komplette Systemaktualisierung...
    Warnung: kaffeine: Ignoriere Paket-Aktualisierung (0.8.5-1 => 0.8.6-1)
    Lokale Datenbank ist aktuell
    johannes@omega:~$
    It's german but I think you can guess what it means...
    Is there no way to use this page as an repository and to isntall older versions by typing something like: "pacman -S oldpackages/kaffeine" ?
    If I don't find a x.pkg.tar.gz file in the future, how do I create one for myself out of source?
    Using "./configure", "make" and "make install" just installs, but you have to keep the directory for uninstalling. It is better to create a pkg.tar.gz, isn't it?
    That would be similar to debs and Kubuntu... (it is better to use checkinstall there to create a deb, not "make install")
    Using makepkg after "./configure" and "make" does not work, the PKGBUILD file is missing.

  • After trial I don't want Photoshop CC, how do I get my old purchased version of Lightroom 5 to work?

    I previously purchased Photoshop CS6 and Lightroom 5 as stand alone software. I tried Photoshop CC for the trial month, which has passed. I am able to use my old Photoshop CS6, but when I try to use my old, purchased version of Lightroom 5 I just get a message that my trial month is over. How do I return to using my previously purchased, stand alone version of Lightroom 5?

    It will be necessary for you to uninstall Lightroom and then reinstall from this website:
    Product updates
    Once you do that you will be able to start right where you left off.

  • How do I uninstall version 5.0?

    I am registered with the Inland Revenue Department New Zealand as a tax agent. Since I installed 5.0 I can no longer access the tax agents' site. They advise me to uninstall 5.0. Their web site address is www.ird.govt.nz. Apparently other users are having this problem

    ''How do I uninstall version 5.0?''
    Just reinstall Version 4.
    For those that really need an earlier version of Firefox, find your system and the Firefox version you want in releases, download and start the install.
    * ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/
    When reinstalling Firefox from a download, Firefox must be down once the installation starts. When the installation finishes, don't let the install start firefox for you. Instead end the install and start Firefox in your normal manner, thus preventing creating a new profile which does not have your bookmarks cookies, etc (but your old profile would still be around and would).

    What do I need to do, to finally succeed deploying the application?

    Hi,
    It seems this assembly ''System.Web.Mvc' is missing when you deploy your application to azure, I suggest you check this assembly whether it exist, if not, please right click this assembly and set the property 'Copy Local' as True, then deploy again.
