LR 4.0 locks up when running import module

Just this evening my LR 4.0 started locking up when I click on Import to bring in new photos. I've rebooted, repaired, rebooted, uninstalled, reinstalled and rebooted to no effect. Everything else in LR works fine. Anyone have any suggestions?

Error when running import data package, BPC 7.5 Microsoft

When I try to import data to one of my applications the import fails. This happens with external data but also with data I extracted from the application (input via schedule and then exported) I get the below error:

This is issue is related to the Replace and Clear option and not having Work Status set up correctly.
When using the option 'Replace & Clear' with Import packages, the WorkStatus Setting should be not only enabled but also 3 dimensions types 'C' (i.e. Category), 'E' (i.e. Entity) and 'T' (i.e. Time) should be set by 'Yes' or 'Owner'.

AE Keeps locking up when I import .psd

Hi.
this is happening about half the time I import a .psd into AE.
the import boxes come up and it freezes. I end up having to force quite AE.
what should I try to do to fix this? its slowing me down big time.

I am using CC and I'm on windows 8.
these photoshop files aren't big. 1100x800 typically. with a couple layers.
when it works it works fine, but it is randomly getting hung. they are all rgb.

Import-Module ActiveDirectory - Error - after upgrading DC's to 2012 R2

We done upgrading our Domain Controllers to 2012 R2 Version, and after upgrade i can't use ActiveDirectory module outside my DC
When i\m trying to run Import-Module ActiveDirectory on my Windows 7 desktop i get error:
WARNING: Error initializing default drive: 'Unable to contact the server. This may be because this server does not
exist, it is currently down, or it does not have the Active Directory Web Services running.'.
( But if i start it as Domain Admin on the same PC - all is OK. Permissions for my account is ok - i think - checked by: Get-PSSessionConfiguration on DC's ). When it was 2008 R2 DC's - all was fine
How can i fix this issue? ( i think this is access rights by i cannot manage where... )

I find that with SQL 2012 and SQL 2014 I get the following types of WARNING: messages displayed when I import the sqlps module.
WARNING: The local computer does not have an active instance of Analysis Services.
WARNING: Could not obtain SQL Server Service information. An attempt to connect to WMI on 'Microsoft.WindowsAzure.Commands.SqlDatabase.Types.ps1xml' failed with the following error: The RPC server is unavailable. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800706BA)
I've tried adding -WarningAction SilentlyContinue and I've tried piping the output to null by adding | Out-Null but I still get this garbage that I don't care about on the servers I'm running these scripts on. Do any of you know how to suppress these
warnings?

These errors have nothing to do with the loading of the SQLPS CmdLets/Functions/etc...... They are because of a general failure when you try and locate the Azure modules and therefore this only occurs when you install the Azure PowerShell modules.... let
me explain
But before I do, a warning, DO NOT MODIFY THE FILES I MENTION!!!
When you run: Import-Module SQLPS
PowerShell loads up the Module Mainfest C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\120\Tools\PowerShell\Modules\SQLPS\SQLPS.PSD1
This references the script file SqlPsPostScript.PS1 in the same path..... here is where the problem lies.
This script has a step which is designed to import the SQLASCmdlets module and it is this step which is throwing the warnings. However, again it has nothing to do with the SQL module. The problem actually even happens if you just run: Get-Module -ListAvailable
Now this is where we get stuck as the Azure SQL module is a Binary Module (aka it loads .dlls). Best option is to live with the warnings, because if you suppress them and another module starts to give you warnings then you won't know something is going wrong.
And finally I just checked and there is a new Azure PowerShell SDK released on the 2nd October so it would be worth downloading that as this might be fixed.
P.S. I am going to blog about this and will update with a link when I do.

Intel iMac locks / freeze when importing

I have an Intel core 2 duo iMac, 24", 3.06GHz with 4GB of ram. A NVIDEA GeForce 8800 GS video chips. Running 10.6.1, but this was a problem in 10.5.x as well, just not as bad.
When I import photos, the import process locks up lightroom, then evenually the whole computer and I am forced to reboot. I have tried RAW and .jpeg files. I have imported from the hard drive as well as from the SD card. I have tried with photos from my camera, and scans of photos as jpegs. This does not happen all the time, but now it happens most of the time and it can take me 3 or 4 tries before importing any pictures. I have tried one photo to many folders of photos -- same result.
Any help or thoughts of things to try would be greatly appreciated.

Try optimizing the catalog under LR, Catalog settings. If no joy, delete Preferences, and if still no joy, try renaming your Previews file to force build a new one.

Itunes locks up when trying to import CD

My itunes software locks up when trying to import a CD. Specifically, it will import 1 full CD then lock up when trying to access the artwork. I went into "properties" and stopped the software from looking for artwork, rebooted the machine and was able to import 1 CD, then it would not recognize the next one. I tried 3 different CD's and none of them worked. I am running the most recent version of itunes. Any thoughts?

Help! I have the same problem! I am running Windows XP SP3 and Itunes 8.0.2.20. I imported about a dozen cd's and then the imports started locking up the whole system. I had to power the pc off to get things running again. I have two cd drives installed and both fail. I tried disconnecting the network cable, and it still locked up. Any ideas??

Getting error when running PRC: Transaction Import

when you use Streamclip to convert media, use the same name for the exported file (only with different extension). Then make a shell script calling
touch -r origFileName.mp2 newFileName.mov
This will copy the exact time and date from origFileName.mp2 to newFileName.mov
The script may look like this (save the file, give an exec permission to it and call it in the right directory):
#!/bin/bash
for i in `ls *.mp2`; do
NEWNAME=$(ls "$i" | sed -e 's/mp2/mov/')
touch -r $i $NEWNAME
done
You may need to adapt the extension names used (in the example above .mp2 is input file to get the date/time stamp from and .mov is the output file to stamp.

there is an app called daisydisk on mac app store which will help you see exactly where the memory is focused and consumed try using that app and see which folders are using more memory

Lightroom locks up when using auto import / watch folder

Hello All
Has anyone ran into a problem with Lightroom locking up when you are using the auto import / watch folder feature. Everytime i try to even drop one file in the watched folder, I get a lightroom is not responding message. This really suck...........Everything else seems to be working so far.

I had the same problem. When i would auto import, it would stuck after one photo was imported. I have a separate partition on my harddisk for photo's (F:\) when i made an extra subdirectory (F:\Photo) and auto imported the photo's to that place the problem was solved. Why ? I don't know
