Lr 5.4 inserts red stripes and dots, please help

Hi all,
I was loading some pics in Lr and noticed some red stripes that do not belong (see attached screenshot).
- it is not visible while viewing RAW CR2 files in "Library" mode, only in "Develop"
- exported to jpeg files look ok
- it happens with darker areas, too
- it does it to all my RAW files, regardless of when taken.
- it does NOT do it in Canon's DPP software
I don't know what to do, any help would be greatly appreciated...

You’ve enabled the highlight clipping warning on the histogram. Click the little triangle at the top right of the histogram and it’ll turn off the clipping warning. The same thing, in blue, happens for shadow-clipping if you click the little triangle at the top left of the histogram. These warnings help you adjust things so no detail is buried in black or washed out in white.

i think i might have a solution... i have windows vista and after i installed to latest itunes update everytime i tried to open it it would freeze. I tried everything, including uninstalling itunes and all of its components and reinstalled it numerous times. So i went to the itunes folder in my folders, not on itunes, and i deleted my itunes library and playlists. After that it worked just fine, all of my music was deleted but luckily i had my files saved elsewhere.
I hope this helped! I know its frustrating and APPLE/ITUNES NEED TO FIX THE PROBLEM!!!!

Sounds like you can't update your device. You don't mention an error that it gives you. Take a look at both of these articles to troubleshoot.

If you started your device in recovery mode by mistake, restart it to exit recovery mode. Or you can just wait—after 15 minutes the device will exit recovery mode by itself.

If you have registered your device, you can go to https://supportprofile.apple.com/ and log into your apple id. Your devices appear there with serial numbers.
Additionally, your serial number is included on the original receipt when purchased at any Apple Online or Apple Retail store, or any Authorized Apple Reseller.

If you manually manage the device the you can remove the content from the PC after you have put it on the device. However this isn't the recommended way. At some point you'll probably need to restore it which involves wiping all the data. If you don't have all this data to hand then you'll have to try to recover it from a now problematic device first. It's much easier to sync with your library - yes you have two copies, but that's not a waste, it is prudent. As long as you have two copies you can afford to lose one knowing you have a backup. In practice I keep a complete backup of my library, in addition to the subsets of it that I can put on my devices.

You need the Apple ID and password that was originally used to set up the device. Ask the seller to give it to you. If the seller is unable or unwilling to provide the information, the Phone is probably stolen. There is nothing you can do.

This can be the result of selecting the wrong driver. An older, unsupported laser printer will sometimes work with the generic Postscript driver.

If you see the PDF Browser Plug-in, move it to the Trash.

You'll need to connect it to the iTunes library you normally sync it with and restore it. If iTunes asks you for this passcode before it will let you proceed, connect the iPod to iTunes in recovery mode instead using the instructions in this Apple support document.
