LR 5.4 Just started sticking in Full-Screen View

I've been using 5.4 since it came out and having no issues shifting between regular and full screen view.  No new mac updates since several days ago.  All of a sudden today, it sticks.  Once you F into full screen image, when you F back it flickers back in than goes back to full screen.  I have to close light room from the dock to be able to work on images again.  Have people been having this issue and is there a remedy?  Kind of dampers my enthusiasm when reviewing images large.

The filmstrip can be locked or unlocked, depending on the setting of the slider at the right hand side of the filmstrip: If you unlock it, it will only appear, if you move the mouse to the lower border of the screen.

  • How do I start firefox in full screen?

I would like to start Firefox in LINUX environment from the command line. That is easy just type FIREFOX and hit enter or call a script for that instruction ios what I do.
The challenge is to start the browser FULL SCREEN, WITHOUT showing the cursor on the pages. - [In reality I want to add the F11 parameter in the start script as well as as "do not show the cursor (No idea to invoke it manually). This is a web app running on PC with a touch screen. Secondly I would like to refresh (Shift+F5) every hour or so without human intervention. (take into account the browsers shows full screen and here is no cursor available, so some kind of delete cash in the background or refresh complete website (like doing a Shift+F5)
Any help or pointers would be appreciated.
    Kind Regards

If you close Firefox 4 while in full screen mode then the browser should start in full screen mode the next time. That setting is stored in localstore.rdf in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder].
If you want to prevent toolbars from opening if you hover to the top then hide the full-screen-toggler with code in userChrome.css
Add code to userChrome.css below the @namespace line.

  • How To Start Applications in Full Screen?

    Hey guys,
Basically, there are particular applications such as Mail and Calender that I want to start at Login in Full Screen Mode. Currently, regardless of whether I've closed them when in Full Screen, they always reopen in their 'windowed' state. Is there a way (whether editing script, or ticking a box!) to start them in Full Screen consistently?
    Thanks a lot,
    Tom

Uncheck the box indicated in the screenshot below and the app should start in the same mode as you quit it in (i.e., if it was in FS mode when you quit, it'll open in FS mode).

  • Is there a photo album app that let's you add a photo to an album from the full-screen view of a photo, not the just thumbnail view?

Is there a photo album app that let's you add a photo to an album from the full-screen view of a photo, not the just the thumbnail view?

...It's just really annoying to try to organize photos into an album when you can't see the full screen version of the photo... especially if you have several similar-looking photos, and you can't tell the one you want from looking at 40 thumbnails on an iPhone screen.

  • Transition Problems in Full Screen View

    Hi.
I've created a Powerpoint presentation on the Bayeux Tapestry which I now want to convert to a PDF document so that I can add multimedia.
My Powerpoint presentation features photographs of a section the tapestry with each photograph placed on a separate slide. I've used the Powerpoint 'push left' transition to create a panoramic effect which creates the illusion that the tapestry is being scrolled from right to left  as the viewer clicks through the presentation. It all works very well in Powerpoint as the slides butt up against each other in transition without any 'seam' between them.
I thought I could simply replicate the effect in Acrobat 9 by converting the presentation to PDF and selecting the 'push left' transition from Advance/Document Processing options then launching the document in full screen view. However, I've found that using a push left transition in Acrobat creates wacking great gaps between the pages as they scroll right to left: this absolutely ruins the whole effect.
As you can probably tell, I'm pretty much a newbie with Acrobat 9 (but not with other Adobe applications) and I can't work out for the life of me how to get around this problem. Is there someting simple that I'm overlooking on the full screen view options or perhaps in the Powerpoint conversion settings or do I have to start adjusting resolutions etc? Or maybe it's just the nature ofthe beast (do hope not)?
I'd be very grateful for any enlightenment or advice.
PS: Forgot to mention the Powerpoint was created in default landscape layout and hence so is the PDF.

Do you have the PDF version to fill the full screen and not leave borders? If you print to PDF (not create PDF), then a margin is added by default (as when you print to paper). The border can be reduced to 0, but that is an extra step with the print. As I recall, the PDF Maker (create PDF) does not include the margins. Thus the whole margin bit may be the issue.

  • Bridge won't show me full screen view when pressing spacebar?

This has been happening for a while now.  I've had this mac and cs4 for a while with no problems.  Then one day, I was looking through a recent photo shoot, I pressed space bar so I could view the image in full screen view, and the dashboard disappeared as well as the menu bar at the top for Bridge itself. ??
I did all updates, as well as un-installed Bridge and re-installed.  Still having the same (ANNOYING) issue?!
Why would Bridge just ONE DAY start doing this?  Is it some setting or something I clicked?  I don't get it.
If anyone's had this problem before (and figured it out!) I would be SO GRATEFUL for some help!

I pressed space bar so I could view the image in full screen view, and the dashboard disappeared as well as the menu bar at the top for Bridge itself. ??
Not sure I understand your problem, Bridge by default shows only the image at full screen with a grey background bordering the parts that don't fit to the screen ratio. Clicking with the mouse in the image shows that part at 100 % and having used rating (cmd + . or cmd + , ) for in- or decreasing rating brings the rating and filename bottom left in view. Has always been this way to my knowledge.
For good sharpness of the full screen image select the option to generate monitor sized previews in Bridge preferences advanced tab.

  • Every time I use Firefox it defaults to a full screen view that I cannot get out of without aborting the application because I cannot use any other controls

This never happened until a few days ago and I didn't knowingly do anything to bring it about. I also just now uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox but that didn't help anything. My internet explorer and all other applications work fine. It is only Firefox that now automatically goes to a full screen view when I launch it and I do not know how to get out of it except by aborting by using ctr+alt+del

..............thank you so very much for the super great tip.........who knows why this just started happening to me but as long as your fix works then I guess it sure doesn't matter

  • Levels, full-screen view, File Move

I'm coming from PSE7 and want to update due to lack of raw support for a new camera.  I'm currently trying out LR4 (as well as PSE10) and hope to found out how (or, whether it's possible) to do some things I've used a lot in PSE:
    - Auto-Levels / Auto-Color / Auto-contrast?  (I tried Auto Tone; in my limited experience it works brilliantly maybe 1 out of 5 times, and makes an overexposed mess of the rest. :-)
    - File Move?  I'm used to using Folder View in PSE to select and move pictures from a single import folder to chronological & subject-based folders in the library. (My library isn't keyworded; I got started using a chrono folder structure and it's worked fine for me.)
    - Full screen view?  What I've found so far: switch to Loupe view, "F" to maximize the LR window, Shift-Tab to hide all the GUI surrounding the image, "T" to make the grey toolbar below the image vanish - 3 steps and still there's ~3/8 inch black space on at least 2 sides of the picture. (Impromptu Slideshow is no better).  Conversely, in PSE you just hit F11 and it switches to a fitted view where the image truly fills the screen in at least one direction.  Is there really no way to do this in LR?
I'm really impressed with the editing capability but the fullscreen view issue might is frustrating, possibly a dealbreaker for me. (OTOH PSE10 has crippling performance in Folder View, so I have a tough choice...)
Or am I perhaps missing something, and these functions are here in LR?  Thanks!
    -steve

My novice impression persists - I feel that LR is like a great sportscar, but with the random missing bolt in say, the steering or shift mechanism...
I came from PSE to Lightroom myself. Of course, there is a learning curve, you and I both wanted everything to be as identical as possible between the two programs, as they both were made by Adobe. But the programs aren't identical, they are quite different. And while I can see how there are features in PSE that might help in LR, I would never go back. I accept that LR won't fill my screen, and that's ok with me. I accept that there is no auto-fix in LR, and that's ok with me too, because I think (based on my experience) I can produce a better photo than any "auto" can do.
Regarding auto-fix ... many people create presets for specific situations. For example, if you are shooting photos in a studio and in general you'd like a little more contrast and make the color temperature a little more yellow, you can set up the preset to do that so you never have to. Similarly, in my case, I shoot a lot of old buildings and landscapes, and my photos always need more contrast, a little vibrance, some sharpness, a little color adjustment, a certain camera profile and a partridge in a pear tree, so I have a preset to do that. It's not auto fix, its actually quite different, but it leaves me with many fine photos that need little else. As I said, its different, but it is useful in its own way.
Since you use the analogy to a car "random missing bolt in say the steering of shift mechanism", I will use one as well. Not keywording your photos seems to me like buying a Porsche, and then choosing to never go beyond 2nd gear. You are missing a huge amount of the power of the Library Module.

  • Does Safari for PC have full screen view option?

I am new to Mac (better late than never and am trying Safari on my old PC. Have not yet found a full screen view function in Safari. Explorer toggles from regular screen to full using F11 (and the top slides into view with the pointer, like the Dock on a Mac). Cheers,
    Tom, Berkeley, CA

Hi! The little icons in the upper right hand corner (minus-square-x) are the screen resizer buttons. Click on the square and it goes to full screen, click on it again and it's back to its smaller size, the minus puts it to the bottom of the screen and the x quits the app. All is just like windows users are used to. Position the window to the upper left and then drag the little triangle in the lower right corner allows you to set the screen size to how you want it to be each time you start the app. Tom

    Hi Mary,
    I don't remember those arrows in 10.6, only 10.7 & up!?
I have 10.6.8, as you do. To make your Safari full screen, make sure you have the left hand side of your safari page moved  all the way to the left.  Then move your cursor to the BOTTOM RIGHT CORNER of the safari page, and simply drag your page towards the lower right hand corner of the screen. NOTE: you will see a series of lines on the bottom right corner of the page, indicating where to place you cursor arrow.

  • 7.4 changed my full screen view of videos

I updated to iTunes 7.4 this morning after realizing most of the new features are useless to me who has no iPod or iPhone, but I did see mention of full screen support (and couldn't remember if that was new or not.)
I played a couple of videos going from command-0 to command-3 and then command-F and back again, getting inconsistent results (ending up with command-F giving me a small video view in an entirely black background.
Not only that, the thumbnail for one of my videos, changed from its former image to a solid green screen, (although the video still plays when clicked on.)
I went back to my daughter's PC with iTunes 7.3.2.6 and noted that I have complete control of the same videos from the command-0 setting all the way to command-F (full screen view) and back and forth without weirdness.
Anyone else note similar quirks with 7.4 full screen support?

Well, I have solved part of my problem - in Preferences>Playback, I changed "Play movies and TV shows" and "Play music videos" to "in a separate window" and the sizing issue seems to have settled down. Command-F seems to have a toggle action.
Choosing Command-0, command-1, command-2, command-3 steps up from smallest size to "fit to screen" size and then command-F takes you to full screen mode. but hitting command-F again then takes you back to "double size (command-2) although the menu shows View>Fit to screen command-3 as selected. Weird.
Choosing one of the other selections, say double size (command-2) repeatedly just sets that size on the first attempt and then on later repeats of command-2 it just flashed the "View" menu item without toggling to another size (and continues to display View>Double size command-2 as it should.
So the remaining question I guess is how to get my thumbnail view back from the green screen. How is that image selected anyway? It doesn't appear to be the first frame of the video necessarily.
And here I am back later editing this after reading the iTunes Help stuff. I fixed this by control-clicking on the frame I liked and then selecting "Set Poster Frame" from the dropdown.
So overall, not much to complain about other than the weirdness with video sizing and command-F

  • Aperture viewer issues after full screen view - in Browser, Split View and Viewer modes

2012 MacBook Air, Mac OS 10.8.2, Aperture 3.4.3. Everything is up to date and, as usual, has been working just fine since the last update a few weeks ago. Full screen view never caused any issues... until today.
I tried quitting and restarting Aperture. Using another Aperture library. Quitting everything and restarting my MBA... same behavior.
I went into the full screen view, edited a photo and got out of the full screen view to export it.
All of the sudden, only one line of thumbnails was showing up in my Broswer view (out of 380 pictures in that project). Looking closely at it, it seems like the Aperture now thinks that the desktop area it has to work with (the dark gray area where the thumbnails are) is larger than the aperture window because a part of photo is showing up cut off at the right edge and no slider at the bottom:
(note: at the bottom it says 380 items displayed)
Going back to full screen view, everything looks and works as nothing has happened:
In Broswer view, if I scroll down such that the first row is out of the view, the second row of thumbnails shows up:
Now, if I scroll back up, two rows of thumbnails are shown in the viewer:
To get the third row to show up, I need to scroll down to get the top two rows out of the way and so on.
At some point I saw this weirdo but have not been able to replicate it:
Split View also has its issues - the photo itself is no longer centered and the slider at the bottom gets out of the way past the right edge of the Aperture window before reaching the end of the row of thumbnails:
Finally, when double clicking the photo in the Split View to view it by itself, once again it is not centered and cut off on the right side but there is no slider...
Any ideas? I tried looking through the Viewer-related threads on here and did not see anything close to this. Is there a way to contact Apple support? I found some form somewhere on the website, but it had a dropdown for operating system and nothing past 10.7.2 so I am guessing it is not being maintained...
edit: added the note under the first image

When the graphical user interface is misbehaving, it frequently helps to remove the Aperture preferences apple.com.Aperture.plist from your user library, see the Aperture 3: Troubleshooting Basics on how to do this.

  • Full-screen view in PSE 12?

When I am editing a photograph in PSE 12, I would like to be able to expand the photo I'm working on periodically while I'm working on it, such that I can see, full screen, what the actual results of my manipulations in the picture will be. I can't find any way to [easily] get Photoshop Elements 12 to go to a full-screen view (and then to go right back into the working, image-adjusting views to continue with the various processings).  Any way to do this right within PSE 12, without leaving PSE to look at the emerging image in another program??
    Thank you for any assistance,
    Peter
    Boise, Idaho

    Thank you, R_Kelly!
I'm using Windows 7 (on PC), so I *can* do the procedure you described (and have tried it just now)...
I do like this "floating window" setting, for several reasons, and think it will be quite useful, so I thank you very much for your reply!
But... While doing this does indeed eliminate the outside-the-image clutter and therefore makes the image-in-progress somewhat easier to assess, it doesn't really do anything to make the image fill the entire monitor screen (as I can easily do with most other photo viewers).  I'm getting the feeling that an entire-screen image isn't doable in PSE 12 at all (why the heck wouldn't they put that in??), so probably doing the floating-window-maximized thing is about as close as I'm going to get to what I really want to do.  Better than nothing, I suppose, but I really don't understand why they (Adobe) would leave out such an obviously useful/important option.
Thank you, though.  Did learn something I know will be helpful~~

  • Colors different in full screen view

I could as well post this under "Mac OS X", but I think here in the Aperture forum it is more likely to get help.
I have the following problem: when viewing images in full screen mode, their colors are different than in the normal windows mode. The difference is not subtle, but severe. For example blue skies have a lot more red and appear much more saturated.
While trying to narrow down this problem I found out the following (and here it starts to get really strange): I exported one image as a JPEG to the desktop to see what the colors would be. The thumbnail then had the oversaturated colors of the full screen view in Aperture. When clicking on it, Preview showed the correct colors with a normal blue sky. When switching to slideshow mode in Preview, again the oversaturated colors from Aperture full screen came up.
When I disconnect my 23" Cinema Display, the full screen view of Preview shows the same colors on my PB like in window mode. So I believe it has something to do with my 23" CD.
Can anybody come up with a good explanation for this behaviour? Could this be some kind of a profile problem?
    Any help appreciated
    PB G4/1.5   Mac OS X (10.4.6)   Aperture 1.1.1

I read Zausel's post that referred to the Colorsync Utility. Under the Devices tab I was able to see both my monitors and confirm they were both assigned the proper profile (they were). There is an option to "Make Default Display" in this utility. I noticed it was defaulting to the Color LCD of the MacBook Pro. I had already set my 23" to my main screen in the display control panel by dragging the menu bar to the big screen in the layout tab. I selected the 23" screen in Colorsync Utility and selected it as the "Make Default Display". Now my full screen previews are accurate. Aperture must use the display profile for normal view screens, thumbnails, light table, but change to the default display profile when it does full screen. (previously, it was using the profile for the 15" MBPro screen for full screen views; thus the inaccurate color) Now everything is in sync and my color looks good on the big display in both normal view and in full screen. Hope this helps someone else.

  • How to Remove maximize/minimize/close top-bar in full-screen view [MAC]?

    Hi.
My Q. is pretty much as the title implies.
It's a small thing, and maybe kind of trivial,
but I'd like to know how to get rid of the maximize/minimize/close top-bar in full-screen view in Adobe Reader on the Mac.
I am definitely in fullscreen view [I hit command+L], just so you know,
but I still have that top grey bar showing with the maximize/minimize/close buttons [the red, yellow, and green].
As I said, kind of a trivial concern, but I'd like to know how to hide that in full-screen mode.
I tried searching around a few places for an answer, but there is nothing too obvious.
I can't find anything in the full-screen preferences of reader either. Maybe I'm missing something...
    Thanks!

Version 11.0 , so I guess that is the most recent?
I think this is an application-specific problem too, because I don't encounter this in full-screen mode with other applications.
