LR and Adorama - whats your workflow?

hey folks,
now that i have my web export solution taken care of, im curious about printing.
ive used adorama a few times and am happy w/ the results. anyone feel like sharing -- how do you prep your images for use w/ them? what settings have been successful for you in obtaining the best results?

anybody using LR + www.Adorama.com for printing? if show, whats your print workflow like? do you use LR's "Print" section, or just export large jpgs from the "Library"? do you apply output sharpening, and if so what sort?
just curious how others are using the tool.

HT2905 This is all well and good if you only have a Few DUPLICATES in your Library. But what if you have Hundreds, because every time they come out with a New Version of iTunes, you have to Re-Import all of your Songs and Playlists into your Library?

What is the easiest way to Automatically Remove Duplicates from my iTunes Library (instead of doing it one by one, which is unfeasible when there are Hundreds of duplicates from installing the newest version of iTunes, or putting it and all of your songs on a New Computer, and it loosing track of all of your File Folders and Playlists, so you have to re-import everything, hence why the Thousands of Duplicates...
I know there are programs you can BUY that will remove Duplicate Tracks from your iTunes Library, but iTunes is Free, so why should I PAY to fix something that's screwed up about it?

See my tips on duplicates. If iTunes creates duplicates when you add content then it is a failure of the workflow you are using.
Upgrading iTunes should have no adverse effect on your library, however you should maintain a backup regardless.
See also this migrate iTunes library post on moving the library to a new computer properly so that there is no need to reimport any content and no lost ratings, playlists, play counts etc.

This is my first post, and I am a new photoshop user (CS2 ), so please be patient with my "noobness. "
I am reasonably computer savvy (program in several languages) and have done graphics work sparsely in the context of developing a video game, but I am not very experienced with photoshop per se (my work has been a combination of gimp, trial photoshops, etc.) Most of what I accomplish has been through combining textures generated by my game engine with high level shader language.
I have a project now that I need to do in the next two weeks which is "simply" to create a booklet cover- it may be beyond my capability, but it looks relatively simple and I am seeking general advice, and specific direction on a couple of issues.
I need to make a graphic after the style of the attached .jpg.
It looks to me relatively simple- but not being that familiar with making things like this I really do not know. I have perhaps bitten off more than I can chew in the next two weeks given that I will be learning as I go.
The way I would proceed would be to create several layers for each element (e.g., bushs, beach, ocean, mountains, buildings) and then go about drawing items. (I am using a Wacom Bamboo pen & touch- which I am also learning on the fly)
My more specific questions have to do with
1) gradients
2) spackling (for lack of knowing the correct term)
3) texture
1) How can gradients be achieved? I have used the gradient tool in the past to fill a selection with a gradient between two colors, but is there a way to create gradients that flow between two colors as you draw with a brush?
Consider the areas circled in red, especially around the blue mountains. That is where I am assuming some gradient function might be used, but if there is some other function by which to obtain that type of fading between colors I am completely open to suggestions.
2) in the circled bush, as the green fades into the darker brown, there is what I would call "spackling" or discrete points of the brown on the green (as opposed to what might be obtained with a smudge tool). How would one obtain that effect most efficiently? is that just a matter of playing with brush scatter settings and so forth?
3) As the original is an artwork created on a physical canvas with physical brushes, it has a texture. How are such textures accomplished with photoshop?
I realize that my questions may be relatively "big" but what I am looking for is starting points.
If someone would take a look at the attached picture and think about how you would do it yourself, I would appreciate a general description of your workflow and a listing of any techniques/tools/settings that I should investigate further.

Here a few "starting points" for the some of the questions that you have above.
How to achieve a gradient background:
You will want to create the gradient and place it on a background layer. For the mountains, you can create a custom shape and apply a gradient.
Create texture:
You will want to use blend modes and textures for the mountain and possibly other areas.
Hope this helps give you a starting point with your project, and please post back as you proceed with your project.

What Plug-Ins are Essential To Your Workflow?

FCP/Motion user converting to Production Studio CS5.5. I've been wanting to get into AE for a while, and the conversion to PP is necessary now that FCPX was released in a crippled state.
What have you don't with Premiere Pro and After Effects to set them up to support your workflow? I'm mainly focusing on plug-ins, but I'm open to any customizations, as I don't personally know anyone that I can learn from that uses the suite. Thanks in advance!

Sounds like it isn't to serious. the Bluetooth connection had an error and that is that generated
the Problem report.
When the Blackberry started to use Bluetooth the "gold standard" was using Microsoft's
"native" windows drivers. Now, every major PC company has there own version

There is rather involved and lengthy procedure to check and install the correct Bluetooth drivers
in the Dell, but I really don't think you want to take that on.( Nod you head and say H*LL YES)
Here is what I propose;
The problem report needs to be resolved or it wont go away. Read the manual, call Dell,
try apologizing to it and that you'll never never do it again, what ever it takes!
Make the best investment you can make for your Blackberry, buy a media card.
All the memory in the BB is dynamic, this facilitates the functions of the phone.
By storing media in that memory, you effect are wasting X amount for file storage.
Store all media and files on the media card, and you will have a smooth running device.
They run about $25.00usd, they are easy to install, and they also make moving your
media a snap. You will need the USB adapter that came with it, but you can get that at
your local carrier store.
So if you agree with this I need some info.
On the Blackberry go to the options icon,click then scroll up to ABOUT.
I need your software version number, it's listed in this format: 4.x.x.xxx.
Send it back to me and I can tell you what size card you can get.

You get that message any time you download an executable file. It is safe to open as long as you download from http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/

In order to watch it, just start playing it - if you've downloaded or synced it to your iPhone then it should be in the Videos app, or if it's on your computer's iTunes then it should be in the Movies section of your library. You have 30 days to start watching it from when you rent it, and once you start watching it you then have 48 hours (24 hours in the US) to finish watching it. As long as the film has been fully downloaded downloaded then you should be able to watch it without being online.

Well, when you purchase from a non-official source you run the risk of getting who knows what from wherever. It appears this phone was replaced under warranty at some point, but not returned to Apple for refurbishment. Thus, the SN is no longer valid for warranty & service. Reset the iPod - Press Menu and Select simultaneously for about 10 secs or till the Apple Logo comes ON.
Disconnect the iPod, and all other USB devices
connect the iPod to another USB Port, and not to a USB hub. (Never connect the iPod to the USB port on the Keyboard.)
Run Disk Utility -> First Aid->Erase (to correct any filesystem corruption.
Then run iTunes and Restore.

For users using iMac 27" models with Lion OSX whats your boot times from when you press the power button to when the Desktop and Dock are loaded.
Mine has increased since upgrading and I just wanted to see what you guys were getting.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
You don't need to do anything, you have chosen to back up to iCloud instead of iTunes.
Being able to back up to the cloud can be very useful, especially if you don't have access to a computer or have infrequent access to one, however unless you specifically need to use iCloud for back up, you will find backing up to iTunes significantly more convenient and possibly more reliable.
