LR develop module disabled with notice of expried membership, however, my account is active and payments up-to-date

All of a sudden the LR develop module is disable, with a notice of expired membership.  However, my membership is current and my payments are up-to-date.
Any suggestions.  Hate to waste the weekend without getting access to LR.

If you're creative cloud accounts are truly up to date (i.e. paid current) then the first thing I would try would be to log out of the creative cloud application manager and then log back in. If that doesn't work then you will probably have to contact someone at Adobe. If you use the live chat option on this link, I think they will be able to check your account status:
Contact Customer Care
Sometimes the live chat gets quite busy and you might have to wait a little while to get a response. But they have always responded to me.

Develop module disabled. Please renew you membership to reactivate module.  Just purchased Lightroom 5  Tried everthing suggested in Help.  Which didn't help. What can I do.

    HI Inexpert,
If you decide to install Lightroom 5.5 again. Here is a link with a location to download the software. https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/unable-launch-lightroom-55.html
You should not have the issue from before. If you do, then just sign out and sign back in with your Adobe ID.
    Thanks

  • In Adobe Lightroom, the Develop module is saying "Develop module disabled. Please renew your membership to reactivate the Develop module". I bought this product at full price several months ago.

The Develop module is saying "Develop module disabled. Please renew your membership to reactivate the Develop module". I bought the product at full price several months ago and have had no problems using it until, so I am not sure what it is asking of me. I only had it on one other computer before I added it to this second computer, and I understand we get 3 copies. There should not be any issues. I need an answer ASAP.. actually pretty shocked that there is no immediate customer service that I can contact for a problem like this.

If the develop module is disabled then you have downloaded and installed Lightroom from the creative cloud. It cannot be licensed with a serial number. It requires a creative cloud subscription, and is activated and kept active with your Adobe ID and password. That version will not work on your computer and will have to be uninstalled. Then you can install from one of these two links:
Adobe - Lightroom : For Windows : Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.7.1
Adobe - Lightroom : For Macintosh : Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.7.1
This will have no impact on your catalog or your images. After you install from the right website you will be able to continue where you left off.

  • Develop module disabled, although paying customer / OS 10.9.4

    Dear Adobe Support Team,
I am experiencing serious problems with Lightroom 5.5. Although I am a paying member of the full Adobe CC, Lightroom 5.5 disables the Develop Module. I have tried all of the following, in all combinations and orders, without success:
    1. Logging out of Creative Cloud, restarting Mac, logging back in
    2. Uninstalling Lightroom 5.5 completely, logging out of CC, logging back in, re-installing the software
What can be done here? I am a professional photographer and this is beginning to get a real problem as this has been the state for more than a week.

Cyril, this forum is not part of Adobe's "support" effort, and is only manned by other users so you are not likely to get a direct reply from Adobe.
in order to a direct reply from Adobe, you will have to contact them directly, even if you have difficulty doing so at the moment.
$60 a month seems a lot to pay for poor support, and you have my commiserations, for what that's worth.

  • Lightroom developer module disabled.

I purchased Lightroom 5 via a download card outright in April 2014 and was using it happily until my Windows PC died and and needed a rebuild.  When I rebuilt it Adobe would only let me install LR via CC as a trial version (Shows as Trail Expired in CC now) which was seemed fine as it took my licence number and ran okay for 75 days. But today I get Developer Module disabled, please renew membership.  The only options presented to me on the Adobe site or CC invite me to BUY it. Iv'e tried the obvious steps mentioned in the FAQ but no no avail. Has anyone else come across this particular one. Any ideas on how to fix this.

    uninstall lr 5 cc.
install lr 5.7.1 using the link below.

If no change after restoring the iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from the backup, there is a hardware problem.

The iPhone is DESIGNED to switch to cellular data when asleep, unless it's connected to a power source, in which case it will stay logged onto the WiFi network.  iPhones have ALWAYS behaved this way.
Either turn cellular data off at night, or leave your phone connected to a power source to continue the WiFI.

  • LR4 & Develop Module crashing with amber rectangle

2010 MBP w Snow Leopard (hard drive) & Lion 10.7.3 (SSD) - problem occurs on both installations
--removed prior LR installation (application, app support files in root & user Libraries, Preferences)
--made sure there are no plug-ins (even disabled PS CS5 plug-ins)
--transferred the handful of user fonts to disabled fonts (there was nothing exotic)
    --have repaired permissions
    --run Disk Warrior
    --reinstalled LR
    --created a new user account
All of the above to no avail. The strange thing is that I was able to import about 113K files from Bridge and work with them for several days. I did three new shoots which Lightroom handled cleanly. Now I can't access the files to complete editing them. The only intervening change that I can think of is an otherwise smooth upgrade to 10.7.3 using the combo-updater. Yet the problem also exists on my 10.6.8 partition.
As an experiment, I tried clicking on the Develop module in an empty catalog and noticed similar pre-crashing behavior by LR. The entire preview strip (in this case, empty) became highlighted with a solid amber rectangle, although LR didn't crash. I don't recall this happening when LR was functional a few days ago. Here's a screenshot. Is it the images in the catalog that are causing the crashing? If so, what can one do to access them?
I can provide diagnostic logs if they are helpful. Thanks for any suggestions.

I've read a number of threads on this issue. The one thing that I haven't been able to do is to turn off automatic CA correction which requires being able to use the Develop module.
I'd like to explore this product but am at a loss as to how to proceed. Perhaps the reports of frequent crashing represent a minority of the beta testers such that over the last month, Adobe has gotten a lot of useful feedback to refine Lightroom 4.
My individual experience, having lost the better part of two days to this, however, suggests that LR4 isn't close to being stable enough for beta testing purposes. It has gotten silly. I'm returning to Bridge until the smoke clears.

  • Lightroom installed on Mac, developer module disabled.

Hi, I have been using the trial copy of Lightroom (on my Mac) and yesterday (Tuesday) I purchased the download from Amazon and it installed perfectly.  The only problem is that the Develop module and the Map modules are showing '...module is disabled.  Please renew your membership to reactivate'.
I have followed the instructions on the help page referring to the SLStore and SLCache folders but those folders are not showing in my Finder.  Can anyone advise please?

If you have the serial number from Amazon, you could probably just uninstall the version that you have and download the trial version from Adobe and install it. Then you could activate that with your serial number.

  • Develop module disabled - NON creative cloud LR5

I'm having some trouble with LR5.
I purchased LR 3 in 2010 and then upgraded LR5 last year . . . I have both serial numbers.  I recently upgraded to an iMac and loaded the trial version on LR5, but I'm not part of creative cloud as there isn't a reason for my to do so, since I have already purchased the items I use.  Anyways, when I brought LR up today I received this message
    "Develop module is disabled.
Please renew your membership to reactivate the Develop module."
In the past I know that I've been prompted for my serial numbers, but I'm not receiving that message! Please help!!!
    Thanks!

You probably downloaded the LR 5 Creative Cloud trial in error. your serial numbers will not activate. Uninstall the existing version, this process will not affect your catalog, preferences or Personal files, then download the latest version of LR from the link below. Install and insert the serial numbers to activate.
Adobe - Lightroom : For Macintosh : Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.7

  • 'Develop module disabled' and No 'SLS cache or SLS store' folders anywhere. Also no registration document

It has been working fine but it suddenly says that develop module has been disabled. I have looked for solutions on the internet and could not find the SLS cache or SLS store folders where they were supposed to be. It asks for the licence number every time I log in so it might be to do with that. I have uninstalled and re-installed but this made no difference. I don't understand what the problem is and not having the files I mentioned means that I can't find a solution. I also had a look at where the registration document should be and there isn't one. I think files are missing that shouldn't be but have no idea how to change that. I'm working on Windows 8 PC.

Your statements contradict one-another.  Did you subscribe with an annual program or did you buy a boxed/downloaded product?
It sounds like you have tried these solutions? Lightroom doesn't launch or returns "Develop module is disabled" error after 5.5 update

  • LR develop module disabled/Creative Cloud App crashing

Hello everyone.  The Lightroom develop module will is not functioning for me.  It only give me the message "The develop module is disabled.  Please restart Lightroom to sign into creative cloud."  When I try and sign into my Creative Cloud app, it will not open.  I've uninstalled and reinstalled CC twice and tired restarting Lightroom with no resolution.  I'm using LR 5.7.1 on a MacBook Pro running OSX 10.10.2 .  I've purchased my licenses outright to LR5 and CS5 and so do not have a creative cloud membership, and am not currently planning to upgrade.  I downloaded the creative cloud app in order to download Lightroom and PS when I purchased a new computer.  Any help appreciated, thanks in advance!

If you don't have a creative cloud subscription, then you can't download Lightroom from the creative cloud and install it! It doesn't work that way. In order for that installation of Lightroom to function properly you must have a currently paid creative cloud subscription. Otherwise, the develop module WILL be disabled. You must remove that installation of Lightroom from your computer and download and install from this website:
Adobe - Lightroom : For Macintosh : Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.7.1
This is the trial version of the latest release for the Mac. After you install it and run the program, a trial screen will appear. One of the options is to indicate that you have a serial number. Choose that option, and you will be guided through the process of entering your serial number. In the future, do not try to download and use anything from the creative cloud unless you decide you are going to subscribe.
And you cannot use Photoshop from the creative cloud either. You have a license for CS5, which is old software that is not supported by Adobe anymore. Photoshop from the creative cloud is Photoshop CC, at least two major upgrades since what you are licensed to use. You will have to use the installation disk for Photoshop CS5. Then you can update the Camera Raw through the help menu. You will be able to update to Camera Raw 6.7. But that is as far as you can go. The creative cloud is totally irrelevant as far as you are concerned. Forget about it.

  • Develop module disabled

I am a registered user of Lr 5.1 (1160-4001-2645-0882-9537-1138) and today an error message appeared in the Develop window reading: "Develop module is disabled. Please renew your membership to reactivate the Develop module". I never got such a message before. What does it mean? What kind of membership does it refer to?

A disabled develop module is indicative that you have installed the creative cloud version of Lightroom, possibly when updating. The Lightroom program is the same, but it is licensed differently. The creative cloud version depends on your Adobe ID and password while the standalone version requires a serial number. It will be necessary for you to uninstall Lightroom from your computer and then download and install from this website:
    Product updates
The uninstall process will not affect your catalog or images. After you install the right version you will be able to resume your work in Lightroom right where you left off.
Just one note, this is a user-to-user forum. We don't have any access to something to verify serial numbers. And it isn't a good idea to post complete serial numbers on the forum.
