LR - how to make a master catalog??? my pictures are all over somewhere i can't find.
i put LR on an external hard drive. now i suddenly have multiple catalogs as well as data previews. my photos are scattered all over hell, i can't find what i'm looking for and half the time, i bring up a file and it cannot be found. i tried following a tutorial to create a master catalog, but i can't find the options that say "catalog" they only say "create new folder" etc.
Really?? No one knows??
This is an Apple support forum is it not?
If anyone can at least point me in the right direction that would be great!!

you can check the view source of html and check the onclick code written on that plus sign(Expand All), just copy that onclick javascript code and put it on page javascript event.

you need to "Get Info" on the file first. Select it, right click and select 'Get Info' in the menu.
In the window that pops up, near the bottom, the "Open With" drop down menu needs changed. If the drop down menu does not present the one you want, select "Other" and find it. -
How to keep track of the users who are all currently logged in

I have basic knowledge of Session and Servlets. I am wondering how to keep track of the users who are all currently logged in. There should be some way of achieving it.
I thought of it and come up with having an Application variable that hold it when ever a user successfully logged in.
Thanks in advance for any reply.You can do this by keeping data in a static veriable in a some class of yours. The variable will need to be a collection.
Whenever a user loogs in to the site a servlet/jsp should put the users information in to the collection and when logs off or when the session expires the entry should be take off.
You can achive this by storing the velues in a some sort of a week collection where the entries are automaticaly removed when all the other refferences to the entry goes out of scope.
You might need to read bit about java.lang.ref package and WeekReference
Or you can make the entry in the collection contain the last time that the user visited any of the pages and a thread can run time to time and clean up the older entries which have timed out -

adobe starter edition has photo numbers by the picture such as DSCO0283.JPG , where can I find that number on the pictures in PHOTOSHOP ELEMENTS 12--reason being that photoshop elements will not convert my catalog to version 12. error messages--- had to give up trying to convert---I copied all our pictures to our windows 7 laptop and I installed adobe photoshop elements 12 (my bought program)
I wanted to try to convert there first. also I copied our catalog to this computer also. Everything was working fine I could see the collections just as they where on the XP computer.
then I tried to convert on the laptop. I believe the error said something about corrupt file, so I gave up that day. Next day I tried to open ADOBE STARTER EDITION 3.2 and it wanted an unlock code, no such code exists. and my copy of Elements 12 turned into a trial version which has expired. So I am a little hesitant to try to convert on the XP computer and mess up the existing catalog,
unless there is a fool proof way. I have tried manually making collections/ albums on Windows 8.1 and PHOTOSHOP ELEMENTS 12 and coping pictures into the new albums. sloooow!!
I probably have about 4500 pictures and 150 collections/ albums to go. So any suggestions would be appreciated. -

When I'm previewing my iDVD, the pictures are all of the edited ones - which is what I want - but after I burn the DVD, all the pictures are in the unedited form!! What the heck?!! How do I fix this problem? I've never experienced this before!!

I am using IDVD to make slide shows. The pictures are clear and of high quality when viewed on my computer. When I burn the slide show to a disk, the pictures are blury and of poor quality. Is there a setting adjustment to correct this problem?

I have one folder with several projects all of which Aperure can not find the original. I do not use referenced files. I can't make any adjustments like cropping etc. What can I do to adjust or print any of these photos? IO have no ther projects with this problem. My Aperture Library is automatically saved to two external drives.

Have you checked inside your Aperture library, if the original files are still there?
Try to find out, when the images in those projects have been originally imported, then open the Aperture library by ctrl-clicking it and using the command "Show package contents" from the pop-up menu. In the window that will open, select the folder "Masters" and browse the contents. You need to find the subfolder with the year you imported the images, then the folders with the month and the day.
Are your original files still there?
If yes, copy them to a folder on your desktop for safe-keeping, and then try, if repairing the permissions and the other Furst Aid tools will help Aperture to connect to these missing files again - see this link: Repairing and Rebuilding Your Aperture Library: Aperture 3 User Manual
If the First Aid Tools don't help, then check, if Aperture has moved the missing images to a "recovered folder". If not, reimport the images, you saved to your Desktop and use the Lift&Stamp tool to transfer any adjustment and captions to your reimported images. -

Shootist007, I think Cdf15 wants each recipient to see his/her own email address.
Cdf15, you can't quite do what you asked with Mail alone, but you can come close with a slight variant of what Shootist007 recommended. Just put a dummy address (perhars the sender's) in the To field and all recipient addresses in the Bcc field. That way, no recipient sees either the other recipients' addresses or their own. -

When I exported my video (all stills), the images are all over the place. I had adjusted the postition (X & Y) for each one, and when I exported the video, the stills are not staying in one place, but are coming from different angles and different positions. How can I fix it so that when exported, it plays as it does on my Viewer?

"Preference Manager" is a free download from Digital Rebellion (dot com) you can delete the FCP X pref files quickly, easily, safely. Try that next.
