LR is recognising Colour checker passport but my user created camera profiles don't appear

HI there, I run OS X Yosemite on a MBP and have Creative Cloud access to LR and PS.  I have Xrite Colour Checker Passport installed.  LR is recognising the Colour checker passport but my user created camera profiles don't appear in the Develop Module.  Anybody else had / have this problem?

Profiles are camera-model-specific and only for raw files not JPGs.
I suppose it’s possible that the folder the profiles are in is not accessible to LR, so you might try changing the permissions to make sure everyone can access them.  I am a PC person so am not sure how to do this but I’m sure Google can tell you.
If you can’t figure it out, upload the profile file (.dcp) and the raw file that was used to create it and perhaps one more raw file from the same camera that the profile should apply to, and someone else can try on their system, to verify the profile is valid.

That's a comment in the file. It has no effect at all.

  • Hello.  May I ask:  I am using Acrobat 6.0.2, and having trouble formatting a PDF created from multiple (jpeg) files.  Each page is formatted to A4 size, portrait.  But when I create the PDF, each sheet appears as tiny, in the middle of a huge white page.

Hello.  May I ask:  I am using Acrobat 6.0.2, and having trouble formatting a PDF created from multiple (jpeg) files.  Each page is formatted to A4 size, portrait.  But when I create the PDF, each sheet appears as tiny, in the middle of a huge white page.  I cannot seem to find any controls to adjust this.  Any advice appreciated.

Thanks CtDave, for the further info.  Unfortunately, those suggestions are not working, which is strange.
....Until last week, I used to make multi-page PDFs straight from Photoshop: File > Automate > Make PDF.  One simply choses the files, orders them, and creates a PDF.  (Resolution doesn't matter; 300 DPI is no problem.)  However, my new Photoshop CS5 does not have the option in Automate.
What I've done, seeing as Acrobat is letting me down, is use Bridge (new to me) to create the PDF.  It worked without a problem, but seems like more work than the old PS method.  I will download a newer version of Acrobat to see if that makes any difference.
.....Also, thanks Test Screen Name:  I agree with you that jpeg is irrelevant, and that one can make a PDF from Photoshop (Print > Save As - pdf).  But that only works for SINGLE PAGE pdf, not multiple pages as far as I can tell.
    Kind regards,

  • X-Rite Colour Checker passport - creating a profile in LR3 on Mac

Can anyone help me? I am trying to set up a colour profile in LR3 using the X-Rite Colour Checker on my Mac. I have installed the X-rite software and have several images ready to be used for the profiles.
According to the instructions, I should select the image in LR and the go to File , Export and then select the X-rite option, but I do not have this option, only Hard Disc and DVD/CD. So i have figured that something is not installed correctly or I am doing something wrong. Any ideas?

I have received the automated response from X-Rite saying that they will get back to me.
BUT in the meantime have found a workaround that works for me.
    1) Import images as usual into Lightroom (including the colour checker image).
    2) Select the colour checker image and export as DNG and save on desktop.
    3) Close Lightroom
    4) Open ColorChecker Passport and drag and drop the DNG file into the pane.
    5) Hit Create Profile and name the profile as required
    6) Close ColorChecker Passport.
    7) Open Lightroom and go to Develop andon the right hand side scroll down to Camera Calibration menu, under Profile you will find the newly created Profile.
    8) Select the images that were taken under the same lighting conditions and Select the new profile and sync and then Robert's your dads brother (as they say)!
Glad you got a workaround going for you... still x-rite should get back to you on why it isn't working as advertsed..  and thanks for making me look up "Robert's your dads brother"  ..   I never knew they said that or even heard of it.  Now I know something I didn't before..  and that's that (as they say).

  • ImagePrint profiles don't appear in Aperture profile lists, but do in PS

    Does anyone understand the following?
ImagePrint profiles cannot be opened by ColorSync Utility and do not appear in Aperture profile lists (even if a copy is placed directly in /Library/ColorSync/Profiles. (I suspect these are equivalent issues since both programs use some OS color sync tools.) However, Photoshop CS2 does see them.
I think ImagePrint color profiles carry some non standard information (tags?) so that the IP app can tell if the profile is meant for mat or glossy paper. PS handles this OK, but maybe the Mac OS profile reading tool is choking on the extra info?

I have the same problem, except none have appeared for weeks now, and my most recent purchases have not come down at all. I am about to call Apple support and see what they can tell me, but I'm guessing they will blame it on DNS ro something else not being correctly set up.

  • Since 3.6.25 installed I have check marks next to all comcast emails that don't appear in IE.

3.6.25 was just installed today. When I opened up my Comcast email account (webmail) in Firefox, every email had a check mark in front of it. When I open the account in IE8 there are no check marks. And I don't seem to be able to sign out when in Firefox.

    Hi donthee-
First of all, you are using a really old outdated version of Firefox. You are on version 3.6 and the current version is 10. I would highly recommend upgrading to the latest version here:

You might also look at this article regarding issues with signing in/out of websites:

    Hope that helps.

  • I have a little white block on the bottom left corner of the firefox dropdown menu button that has no function. I have checked with friends and other computers and they don't appear to have the same issue.

the button is still functional it's just a small white square with a black dot in it. I can't really say any more

I had that problem too. The square went away when I disabled the FoxTab (v 1.4.1) extension. It says on the website that its for Firefox 3, but other than the white square it worked fine on my FF4.

  • Camera Raw 8.2 in PS CS6 doesn't recognise new lens & camera profiles

I recently upgraded from PS CS5 to PS CS6 and have run the latest software updates for OSX 10.7.5 (ie PS CS6 13.05 and ACR 8.2.0.94).  My old Canon 7D profiles are still available but, strangely, the camera and lens profiles I expected to see for the Canon 6D and Ricoh GR (among other late models) aren't shown in Camera Raw or PS Lens Correction Filters.  Is this a known issue and/or is there a fix?
BTW - I can see some profiles were downloaded to HD:Library/Application Support/Adobe etc - were they meant to have gone someplace else?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The Application Support location is for Camera-Raw-Installed profiles.
The Users location is for user-downloaded or user-created lens profiles.  You can download community-supplied profiles with the lens-profile-downloader available at Adobe.com.
In the past, user-downloaded and user-created profiles could all be mixed into the Application Support folder and be found, but some time back, Adobe started recognizing only their installed profiles in the Application Support area and required downloaded profiles to be in the Users area.  This may be what has happened in your case.
When you asked your question, you used the term Downloaded, so I think Eric Chan thought you meant non-Adobe-installed profiles and gave the folder for user-installed profiles.
If you currently have user-installed profiles mixed in with your Adobe-installed profiles in the Application Support folder—they may have an older date/timestamp, then just move them from where you found them to the Users folder location Eric mentioned.
Another wrinkle is that raw and non-raw profiles are distinct, as well, so when you’re expecting to see lenses supported, make sure you’re looking at a raw file from the camera in question, not a JPG.  Adobe rarely supplies JPG-lens profiles.

  • Windows doesn't recognise my iphone 4s, but it will see my wife's iphone 4s

    Hi
I am having trouble with my iphone 4s. Basically I plug it into my PC and the computer makes the noise that it has been connected but it does not recognise the device.
It does not appear in any way in device manager, nor does it start the autostart thing, or anything.
However, if i plug my wifes iphone 4s into the PC (exactly the same phone, we got them at the same time), then the PC does recognise her phone and it appears in the My Computer list.
Because of that I think that it is a problem with the phone and not the computer. The computer happily recognises the second iphone, but not my one.
I cannot think of anything different on my phone than my wifes apart from a few silly game apps and the fact that I have wifi turned on in my phone and connected to my home wifi, while my wife doesnt have wifi on. However, when I turn wifi off (and restart the phone even) it still does not connect.
I don't have any photo's at all in my iphone, so it can't be the problem with 'foreign pictures' that people talk about. I do have some video's in there, but they are all in my itunes too (which also doesn't recognise my phone).
    I am on
    iphone iOS 5.1.1
    Windows 7 (64 bit)
I am completely stumped. I am hoping that I won't have to completely wipe my iphone to factory settings (and have to write out all my numbers by hand in case the itunes backup doesnt work).
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
    Cheers
    Phar

You don't have to wipe anything, but when you get a chance make sure you backed up to icloud.
What that means is your contacts inside of the phone either physically or liquid damaged. To check
which, you can look inside and if you see a little pink, that would give you a water damage. If you don't
see pink it means that you to many times plugged in that charger the other way or tried to. May be
used some other things to plug in. If you flash the light in you may be able to see those contacts.
If I were you, i would not believe me, good luck!

  • Need  help using color checker passport with photoshop CS6

    Hello all,
I'm having an issue using the Color Checker Passport with Photoshop CS6.  Here's my configuration:
Mac Mini using OS 10.8, but very recently updated to 10.9 (Mavericks).  My problem is the same on either OS version.
    Photoshop CS6 ver 13.0.6 64 bit extended
    Adobe Camera Raw 8.4
X-Rite Color Checker Passport ver 1.0.2
Canon 70D shooting RAW in sRGB color space
NEC Multi-Sync LCD monitor calibrated with Spyder 3 Pro ver 4.0.5
Now here's the issue.  I go through the recommended workflow and generate a profile with no problem.  Then in Camera Raw (after restarting all applications) I apply the profile to a photograph and instead of getting a nice color-corrected image my image has a greenish-yellow tint to it.  It's very noticeable and I haven't been able to figure out what I'm doing wrong, if anything.  I re-calibrated the monitor, re-did the workflow with other pictures, but still get the same result.
I greatly appreciate any help or ideas on how to remedy this.  I've sent an inquiry to X-Rite via their Support Web Page, but haven't heard back from them yet.
    Thanks,
    Kevin H.

  • Lightroom 5.5 and Color Checker Passport

have found out the problem with not being able to export images. If I create and use a color profile using Color Checker Passport it will not allow the images to be exported using 'edit in' if I use a standard Adobe profile then it will export as normal....

Mine Edit In PS 2014 in either case.  When you say “will not allow” do you mean PS never opens or that PS opens but the image never does?
I wonder if there is a permission problem on the custom-user-profiles folder that such non-Adobe profiles are stored in.

  • Custom Camera Profile List (Color Checker Passport)

    Hi
I am new to Lightroom 4.3 and have a question regarding Custom Camera Profiles. I have created custom profiles using Color Checker Passport for sunny, cloudy, flash, tungsten etc but would really like to create one for most shoots. I thought it would be a good idea to name it say "Temp" and overwrite each time so that I dont end up knee deep in camera profiles. But I am guessing if I do this will the latest saved version of "Temp" change the camera profile of all other previously saved versions of "Temp" from other shoots?
It would be good if the saved version of "Temp" resided within the folder of that particular shoot only.

In fact I'm amazed at how good the Adobe Standard profile is (Nikon D300/700) - I have never been able to improve on it for sheer accuracy.
ColorChecker Passport profiles I created for my Canon 5D MKII, 600D and 300D bodies looks better than the Adobe Standard profile, with both set to the same neutral white balance. This includes both single-illuminant and dual-illuminant profiles.
Take a look at the below images which were adjusted in LR using normal adjustments for a "picture" image, and not adjusted as a test chart. The Deep Blue and Purplish Blue patches have a slightly different hue and are more saturated on  my non-wide gamut display. I'm sure they would look even more different on a wide gamut display. The ColorChecker profiled image looks closer to the actual ColorChecker when compared side-by-side. Some of the other color patches also have more saturation, which again appears more accurate.
I am certainly no "expert" on color management, but do have over 40 years of film, color darkroom, and digital imaging experience. To me the ColorChecker profile image looks better and more accurate than the Adobe Standard profile image, and that's just my opinion. Maybe it's something unique to Adobe's Canon profiles, but I have no Nikon equipment to test this assumption.
Concerning the OP's creation and use of multiple "sunny, cloudy, flash, tungsten etc. profiles," I did the same thing when I first used the CC Passport. And you're correct that for normal sunlight pictures only one (1) profile is actually needed, with changes made to white balance for the different conditions. But there is nothing wrong with creating multiple profiles and saving them with their matching white balance settings as a Develop preset. Disk space is cheap and IMHO LR simplifies the process and organization of presets, just as Rob Cole suggested.
I would suggest further that under some natural lighting conditions white balance alone may not totally correct the image. Examples would be high-altitude, early morning and evening low-angle sunlight, etc. Of course this begs the question of how much should you actually "correct" these images – It depends on the purpose, such as artistic versus clinical usage, or a balance of both.

  • My Apple TV recognises my wifi network but will not connect to it, when I enter the password

Help please - my Apple TV recognises my wifi network but will not connect to it, when I enter the password - it just says 'there was a problem connecting to the network - check your settings and try again (5).' What should I do next?

people repport that apple products in general I believe have problems with support for the outdated encryption type called wep encryption which is also pretty useless and easy to break
if you use that try disabling it or changing to wpa encryption
if you use MAC address filtering in your router then you need to add the appletv's MAC address to the positive list

  • Color Checker Passport W/Elements 12 No/Yes? Light Room?

Yes, I'm at it again with my seemingly endless questions, sorry.
Probably buying, ( no, defintely if compatible,) the X-Rite Color Checker Passport program.  I am having difficulty ascertaining definitevly, if the Color Checker program will be FULLY functional with Photoshop Elements 12 without the Light Room program?
I have read the X-rite manual on line and at first there is mention that indicates it is compatible with Elements, but later in the manual it talks about function and proceedure that only mentions Light Room and NOT Elements.  Does this mean I need Light Room to perform these particular steps or are they assuming that I do have Light Room if I am at the point these particular steps are being performed?  Does this question make sense?
I have so many photo editing and processing programs now I don't know why I would need another but if I have to buy Light Room too, I will.
    Look forward to your responses,
    P.

    Hi hatstead
I was initially thinking the same thing as well.  If I can't get the image I want in my own capture I will have to think about a professional.  But from many sources I have read that the Passport tool, which is only $99, makes post processing much more effective.
I have tried adjusting the picture that has started this whole purchase of equipment process, with the wonderfully helpful hints from you and many others.   This particular picture will not come out to my satisfaction.  It looks very nice with many of the things I have done to it and as I have said before, if I were just selling it as a print and not concerned with depicting the ACTUAL ORIGINAL work, I'd be satisfied.  Heck, I have even considered creating a series of some of my paintings with different effects and colors for offer as prints.  I did this with a photograph of mine and I love the results.
If it were just this one painting I was concerned with I would probably take your suggestion.  But I plan on creating more canvases and I don't want to go through this again and I like the idea of controlling my own work flow for multiple projects.
From what I understand, the Color Checker will save me time with more complicated editing techniques.  Because my paintings have so much color in varying hues, tones, tints ,etc. throughout the canvass, selecting and adjusting is very difficult for me.  Especially when you take into account the depth of the paint on the surface and the texture of the canvass beneath.
I have been working with the program since November as you might recall, and finally got to a comfortable point for dealing with photographs of actual objects.  I believe you helped me with some of those issues, .  And probably users with many more years of experience might be able to utilize the PSE program to conduct PP on canvas paintings but I need to be able to post the images of the canvasses sooner rather than later.  "Time is money..."
If I have the Color Checker Passport I should be able to take advantage of "minor PP" with Elements 12, at least that is my goal.
The Light Room software may be within my financial means as well if it is required.  Do you know if it is required to operate Passport with Elements?
    Always thankful for your input,
    Regards,
    P.

  • Printer is recognised , inks seem ok, but printing blank pages

Printer is recognised , inks seem ok, but printing blank pages

This is my story, sounds like yours. Let me know if you get any help please.I will do the same.
OK, this is the craziest thing I have seen in a while. My HP printer that has worked flawlessly for years with my Windows XP PC, printed an incomplete page. I tried to print the page once more, it went through the motions of printing, paper feed, printer head went back and forth. When I looked at the page there was no text printed at all, not a trace. Okay, so I must be out of ink, checked the level in tools and it said about a quarter was left. The heck with it, lets put a new ink cartridge in. Did it, checked the level again, now full. Printed the same page and it went through the motions of printing, paper feed, printer head went back and forth. When I looked at the page there was no text printed at all, not a trace. I tried the printer from my laptop, same thing. My wife PC, same thing. So the printer must be dead. This is where it gets crazy! I had a new printer from a combo PC purchase I made in December. I installed the NEW HP printer and the drivers, everything went fine. I printed the test page which is two pears (fruit) in COLOR and it printed fine. Great I am back up and running. Tried to print the page that failed on the old printer and the same thing happened. Are you kidding me! Tried the new printer from my laptop and the same thing happened, no text. It will print in Paint, in color and black. It will print from HP software when printing pictures in color and black and white. It will print from my email suite (Thunderbird) in color and black. It won't print in Open Office in color or black. It won't print in Word, in color and black. It won't print in Word Pad or Note Pad in color and black. New printer, new ink, I don't understand. PLEASE HELP ! Thank you for your time. Windows XP, USB cable, New Deskjet D1341.
