LR Mobile Collections with catalog residing on Dropbox folder ?

Does LR Mobile work with a LR catalog residing in a Dropbox folder, if that catalog is used by a desktop (iMac) and Macbook Pro (separately)?
If so, will this allow both of these computers and LR mobile to share Collections ?

Share a .webloc file with Windows 7 via Dropbox

I like to simply drag a favicon of a website to the desktop to revisit this page later or to collect relevant sites while doing some research. I have created a folder structure for that on my Mac and put all this into my Dropbox to share it with a Windows 7 PC - assuming this would work like it does on my Mac.
I just realized that the PC can't open these files like my Mac does, by simply double-clicking them. It opens empty tabs in Firefox and/or Safari on the PC. When I open the file in notepad I see the actual URL is still inside the file, but it is not convenient to open each of these files in Notepad first, copy the URL and paste it into a browser.
Is there a better solution to share URLs (not all my Bookmarks) with a PC via Dropbox?

Assignments to collection with user groups seems to be failing

We have a collection with users and a collection with groups. We assign a simple application to a collection with users, that seems to be fine, we can see the app in the application catalog. We then assign the same app to a collection with just a security
group in the collection, the members of that security group cannot see the app in the application catalog.
I am trying to trace what the server does when a the request user policy comes in, to see if there is a disconnect between the assignments and the members of the group.
Any ideas how to debug/troubleshoot this issue?

Some troubleshooting tips for client communication to the Application Catalog:
Ensure that the Configuration Manager client is successfully assigned to a site and operational by checking LocationServices.log and ClientIDManagerStartup.log.
Verify that the client can communicate with the management point. For example, check out any HTTP errors in the CcmMessaging.log file.
Check the LocationServices.log file for any errors during the time you browsed to the Application Catalog. One typical reason for Application Catalog failures in this log is client communication failures to the management point, indicated by the following
error: “Failed to send web service info Location Request Message.” In this case, verify that the management point is operational and reachable from the client computer.
If you have recently installed the Application Catalog roles, the configuration on the site system server might take some time to complete. If you have a central administration site, make sure that sites are replicating successfully. In this scenario, information
about the Application Catalog roles must replicate to the central administration site and then back to the primary site before the Application Catalog is fully operational. For example, until the replication is complete, users will not be able to request or
install applications from the Application Catalog.
Ensure that the domain and user name that is displayed in the top right corner of the Application Catalog matches the user that is logged in to Windows, especially if Internet Explorer prompts the user for credentials.

"Store Presets with Catalog" doesn't move existing presets

Is there a good reason why Lightroom does not offer to move current user presets when the "Store Presets with Catalog" is selected in Preferences>Presets?
If I have set up presets, templates etc. they are all gone without any warning as soon at this inocous little tick box is clicked.

Yes, the behavior is frustrating, goofy and not intuitive. It is alarming to see your user presets appear and disappear when you toggle the option check box on and off.
Not sure if Symbolic links are an option on Windows or not, but I use them on the Mac (instead of the breakable Aliases) along with DropBox. This way you I sync up multiple machines with my precious presets and other user created documents. This solves the problem of syncing DNG and Lens profiles which should but don’t live with the presets. Adobe should fill the preset folder with virtually every user configurable item like DNG profiles and Lens profiles and give us a way to easily keep them in sync.
I only use one catalog. So I have the Store Presets with Catalog on and clone the one drive among others to use with different machines. Symbolic Links take care of the other files but I wish I didn’t have to resort to this approach.

Not sure where this component is on market place? Is this an addon or ? I have gone thru the master guide for the GRC Access approver and there is no mention of where i can find the above component.
Can any body help me with this or does anybody know anything about this.

I have over 2,000 images. I don't want to go back through each image and add meta data.

No, do not re-import your images. I assume you can see the thumbnails in the library module, just cannot access the full images, right? If this is the case there should be an exclamation mark in the top right corner of every one of your pictures and you only have to tell LR where the images are now.
Click the exclamation mark of one of the images and a dialog window should pop-up, telling you that LR cannot find the file, but with an option to locate it. Press "Locate" and navigate to the folder on your new HD where the file is. If in the new external HD you kept the same folder structure that you had on the internal disk, LR will be able to find all your images and re-link them to the database without further intervention.

Create a site collection with dedicated content db with the help of server object model

I have a requirement to implement a create a new site collection with dedicated content db. i have got 2 PowerShell scripts which does the same. first i will create a content db and then create the sitecollection with contentdb
parameter with the created contentdb name.
Now the site collection created must contain few doc libs and few splists with look up columns, people picker data type, multiline of text, single line of text,choice field. hence i am thinking the below approach:
1) create a web template and include sp doclibs, splists , site columns in this.
2) i am thinking of a ui design to create the below:

and it should create the site collec based on the web template and create the content db.
my doubt #3 : will it not throw error "request timed out" when creating the site collec and contentdb from ui ?

PowerShell is just a wrapper for the object model. You shouldn't need to reference PowerShell in your feature, just create the new site collection with C# inside your feature. There's a blog post here that illustrates some code that may get you started.

Deleted items reappear on mobile account with syncing?

On a mobile account with syncing, deleted items will reappear after syncing. One can manually do a full sync. Then delete stuff. Then do a full manual sync again and the deleted items are back.
This is on Leopard 10.5.6 client and Leopard 10.5.6 server.
Open to ideas one what I ought to look at.

I'm happy I'm not alone (sorry..)
I have exactly the same problem, although I'm using Linux server, not OSX.
It all worked nicely until 10.5.6 upgrade, after that I'm having lots of home sync problems, including:
1. locally deleted items re-appear after sync
2. a lot of sync conflicts, specially when sync cannot resolve latest file or directory version between mobile and network copy (and mobile copy will be always the latest one)
3. huge syncs even if no data has been modified, ie:
I'm syncing all on login and logout, background sync is disabled.
I do login then straight away logout, so practically no data has been modified, but the sync may show me tens of GB being transferred.
Now, this is weird: I've done tests on a freshly created mobile account, with approx 50MB of data. Basically I've logged in and out repeatedly, sometimes modifying small files. Some of the syncs showed me transfer of 60MB!!! That's 10MB more than the size of the home directory!
I've looked through release notes for 10.5.6 and some sync issues were 'fixed'. I'm wondering if other ones were introduced...
As I've said, it all worked perfectly until the latest update - I have many machines behaving in the same, bad way.
Perhaps someone has a solution?

I am new to Visual Basic programing and i am trying to understand the relationships between Datasets, database, table Adaptors. I have to following code that is is giving me the following error" Unable to load, Update requires a valid DeleteCommand
when passed DataRow collection with deleted rows".
I can track the error and its located in "OffsetTableTableAdapter.Update(MaterionOffsetDataSet.OffsetTable)" code. What am i missing?
It seems that i can delete the data on the DataGridView Table and it only displays the correct data. but my database is not updating, even though the data grid displays differently.I can determine this because, when i save the offset database, i have all
the previous uploads and all the rows that i wanted to delete are still there.
My final goal is to be able to import offset data from a CSV file, save this data on the pc, send a copy of this data to a NuermicUpDown so the customer can modify certain numbers. From here they download all the date to a controller. IF the customer
needs to modify the imported data, they can go to a tab with a data grid view and modify the table. They will also have to option to save the modified data into a csv file.
Im not sure if i am making this overcomplicated or if there is a easier way to program this.

This error usually shows that you do not initialize the
DeleteCommand object, you could check this
article to see if you get a workaround.

If you are working CSV file, you could use OleDB to read it which would treat the CSV file as a Table:

Associate your mobile numbers with your Apple ID, if you haven't already done so.
Sign out of iMessage on the Mac:
Messages ▹ Preferences ▹ Accounts ▹ Sign out
and on the iPhone:
Settings ▹ Messages ▹ Send & Receive ▹ Apple ID ▹ Sign out
Then, on the phone, tap
Use Your Apple ID for iMessage
Sign back into iMessage on both devices and test. If there's no change, you may have to wait for a change in network conditions.

Her iPhone will need to be set up to iTunes Match using your Apple ID to be able to share music via iTunes Match. Otherwise you'll have to download the music to your computer and then copy those tracks into her iTunes library, assuming hers is separate.

SharePoint 2013 cannot view PDF documents in mobile browser with office web apps

I'm receiving the following error when viewing SharePoint 2013 PDF documents in a mobile browser after clicking on the filename:
"Viewing of .pdf files has been disabled in Microsoft Word Mobile Viewer. Please get in touch with your helpdesk."
My Question
Is viewing PDF documents in mobile browsers with Office Web Apps SP1 actually supported? If so, how can I enable it? I've already have pdf viewing working in non-mobile browsers. Word documents open just fine on mobile browsers too.
I'm getting conflicting answers for pdf mobile viewing support from various sources:

What I've tried
When I started looking into this there was a mobile WOPI entry:
Application     : WordPdf

I tried experimenting with tweaking this binding by changing the DefaultAction to true, and even removing it altogether via:

But I still get the same message.
I removed all the WordPdf bindings and re-added them via:
New-SPWOPIBinding –ServerName "<myserver>" –Application "WordPDF" -AllowHTTP
No dice. In fact the mobileview binding doesn't even come back... but I guess that is a different issue altogether.

I think the PDF support, if it exists, in only in Office 365. Always remember that the Office 365 and on premises versions will never be in sync. On premise is updated using periodic service packs and Office 365 has continuous updates. (I've heard every
10 days.)
In my Office 365 / IE 10 tests, the PDFs open in the browser's default PDF viewer, in my case FoxIt Reader. So I can't prove one way or the other about support in Office Web Apps.
