LR Mobile shared collection questions

I know you can view shared collections in the mobile app and a web site,  but can you view the collection on a 2nd desktop running Lightroom also?
Can 2 desktops each have their own unique shared collections that all other devices can see?
thanks

Good morning Guido,
Well, I may have messed things up, or I may have stumbled across the source of my original issues of "0 Photos" and heavy pauses opening mobile collections.
I un-synced every collection in LrD. But Adobe online (lightroom.adobe.com) still shows all of the collections. I deleted LrM on my iPad and it's still syncing all the original collections.
How do I do a complete reset of LrM and all synced collections? I want to start from scratch - nothing sync'd, no collection on Adobe online. I'll remove LrM and start on the iPad from scratch. But only when Adobe online shows what I have flagged for sync in LrD. Then I'll start with a few small collections and see if the original problems persist.
I'm hesitant to delete the collections on the Adobe site but it seems that that might be the way to go.
Your help is appreciated.
Have a great day,
Michael

  • [scjp exam] garbage collection questions

    can someone please post me some garbage collection questions + correct answers, because i've taken the SCJP test again and i didn't passed it again. A co-worker of mine also didn't passed either.
    (We both got 0% on Garbage Collection every time) And i really thought i had it correct the last time.
    So please can someone mail/post me some garbage collection questions? thanks!

    The garbage collector collects unreachable objects.
    You have no control over when the objects are
    collected, but there is a guarantee that all
    unreachable objects will be collected before an
    OutOfMemoryError is thorwn.Exactly my thoughts...
    That's it. It really is just that simple. I scored 94%
    on the Programmer's Exam, with 100% in the garbage
    collection section.Hmm i got 54% last exam i took. I really begin to doubt about myself, because i find the questions on the exam so tricky.. Last book was Exam Cram (Java), and i found this a very nice and good book to study for the exam. Garbage collection is just one question, so it's either 0% or 100%. So far it hasn't gone anything higher then 0% with me.
    Here are some questions:
    1. When is the Object first available for garbage
    collection (when does it become unreachable)?
    Object o = new Object();
    Object p = o;
    o = null;
    p = null;p = null; -> available for gc.
    2. When is the Object first available for garbage
    collection?
    Object o = new Object();
    Vector v = new Vector();
    v.add(o);
    o = null;
    v = null;v = null; -> available for gc.
    3. Can the Vectors be garbage collected at the end of
    this code?
    Vector v = new Vector();
    Vector w = new Vector();
    v.add(w);
    w.add(v);
    v = null;
    w = null;yes
    Now i have a question:
    public int foo {
    Integer result = new Integer(10);
    result = null;
    return result;
    when is result available for gc?

  • Large music collection questions...

    Hello All,
    I am new to iTunes and I have a couple of questions I need answers to before I make a big mess.
    I am moving from all windows to all mac environment. My music collection (77,000 songs) exists on several external HDD and are configured for the win 7 machine. The only organization for the collection is my own folder system, it has not been scanned or compiled into a whole by any program, win or mac.
    I also have a Mini hard wired to a 2TB TC. I want to get the music into iTunes and I am looking for some direction.
    First, I want to clean up the collection and get it all on 1 drive before I move it to iTunes. Or do I?  This is my first issue, dont know what to do first. Do I work with the collection in Win first and then move a clean collection into itunes or move it to iTunes first?
    I have read about the tuneup program and it seems like it either works great or not. Any opinions here? Of course I am smart enough not to just dump the whole collection on it and expect it to be fluffed and folded in an hour. It is available for Win as well as being an iTunes plug-in... is it better one way or another.
    If the opinion is that tuneup is not the best program then what are the better alternatives?
    Second question involves final resting place of clean collection. I want to keep the clean collection on an external HDD. Do I want it to be plugged into the mini or the TC for it to be shared accross all devices?
    If there is something I am overlooking please chime in, as I said, new to iTunes and Mac and there is a lot to learn.
    Thank you for your time in this matter.
    Cheers,

  • Sharing collections in 'Bridge'

    I have read through the thread regarding utilizing 'Bridge' to organize images. I recently attended a CS5 Roadshow where the speaker utilized a collection to manage a set of images from various server locations.
    What I am trying to do is utlize a master image library, and then only link the images we need for a project to a collection that the rest of the design team can utilize without copying these images to the job folder for the project, therefore duplicating the images.
    My Question? Is it possible to export or share a 'Bridge' collection  with other designers in the studio without shifting the images into a  single folder?

    At first glance the answer would be "that is what the purpose of networks are--to share data".  But you might have to check the help files on Bridge to see how it reacts over the network, whether two people can access the same file at the same time, especially with video, and what would happen if one of those people updated the file--what would become of the file that the second person is using--would it automatically update?  In the event they were using Linked Images such as in Illustrator I guess that would work pretty well but the communication needs to be open between the file users to see who will update what.  I do not know if Bridge has a legend or key that displays when a file has been changed by one person on the network.  There are other Adobe network-shared programs that do have this feature although the name of the product escapes me--it's one of their document products.

  • Mobile Sharing

    So Ive poked around and didn't see this anywhere.  Sorry if this is answered somewhere else.
    What I want/have done: I have set up a shared workspace with a number of pdfs.  I have shared that workspace to a number of test subjects within our company.  The idea/what I would like is that I administrate a cental collection of pdfs that our field sales people could then access via their mobile phones (mostly android at the moment). One person (me) would administrate the collection and they would be able to see the most current versions of documents.  I don't want them to have to take any additional steps beyond simply veiwing and sharing on their phones.  Sharing being the primary one. Example: Sales guy is on a sales call.  Customer would like a copy of our brochure on XYZ. Sales guys goes to acrobat.com on their phone, finds the right document and shares it with the customer (files are set to published to make this easier).
    The Problem: I can see all of the files in my shared workspace on my phone and share them as mentioned above.  I can also see all of the files in the accounts set up for the sales people in a web browser. The files are not showing up when they try to access from their phones (accounts that share the workspace but are not the original account that set it up).  Now they can move the files to a personal workspace and they will show up, but that defeats the purpose of the shared workspace. I should be able to/want to simply add a new document to the shared workspace and have it show up the next time they log in from their phones.
    Am I doing something wrong?  Is this simply a limitation/bug?
    Thanks in advance for any light shed on this matter.

    Maybe I should do something similar to what's there :
    http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ad-hoc_networking
    I can do that only with iptables?
    How about encryption?
    How about offering a dhcp server?
    Should I create a virtual hotspot? (is there any free software to do that?)

  • Does lightroom mobile support collection sets?

    I have extensive Collection Sets in Lightroom for desktop to keep very large groups of images organized for various projects. I'd like to have these available on LR Mobile, but can't find a way to select a Collection Set and sync it to LR mobile. What am I missing? I can successfully sync individual collections that are within a collection set.

    To answer question #1, I think the answer is YES, but that really depends on how reliable your network is
    To answer your second question #1, the answer is YES. Lightroom isn't just writing the metadata, it is really re-writing the entire file. There is (as far as I know), no way to add the metadata into an existing file on a disk; it must re-write the entire file.

  • Mobile me gallery question

    hi. i have a quesion please: when i create a mobile me gallery, the size of the image to be viewed is really small. is there a way to adjust the viewing size?

    My question is ,when we sync with our mobile me gallery ,aren't we supposed to get our photos back to the computer's library automatically?
    No - you need to drag the photos for the MoblieMe galleries to the library
    and if not ,how do we get the photos and iphotos library and events back to a freshly installed operating system.
    The best way would be to load the backup you made just before erasing your drive and installing OS X

  • Collection Question - Clearing a computer from one collection to another

    Hey Guys,
    I have quick question. I have two collection , one for windows 7 and for windows 8.
    When adding a computer to my windows 8 collection, can I simply delete
    the old object from the windows 7 collection?
    Or is there a process for doing this?
    Thanks.

    Yes, easily. Just go to the collection and you can right click, Membership, and remove the entry there.
    You can also open the collection and right click the object and Remove from collection.
    If you delete the object you not only lose any membership it had, you also lose its DDR information as well as all inventory information.

  • 1-to-many and collections question

    I'm modeling a standard container and container elements relationship using
    Kodo.
    I'm also trying to be fairly RDBMS efficient, so I'm using the kodo inverse
    properties
    avoid the extra 'mapping' table.
    Here is a simplification:
    class Container
    private Collection myChildren = new ArrayList();
    // + more properties
    public Collection getChildren() { return myChildren;}
    class ContainerElement
    // only have this so Kodo can use reverse property mappings
    private Container myParent = null;
    // + more properties
    public void setParent(Container c) { myParent = c;}
    // here is the code snippet from the Container.jdo
    <field name="myChildren">
    <collection element-type="ContainerElement"/>
    <extension vendor-name="kodo" key="inverse"
    value="myParent"/>
    </field>
    Now what I would like to do is this:
    Container c = new Container();
    c.getChildren().add(new ContainerElement())
    c.getChildren().add(new ContainerElement())
    and have the parent property automatically set.
    Basically the question is:
    How can I do Containers through the Coolection APIs, and have the underlying
    RDBMS use standard 1-Many by having a parent column?
    Thanks for looking into this.

    Could I implement my own collection by subclassing AbstractList (or
    AbstractSet) that upon add calls the setParent method?The persistent member itself can only be an instance of that custom
    List/Set implementation if you implement your own ProxyManager so
    Kodo knows how to maintain the proxies for those classes. Take a look
    at:
    http://www.solarmetric.com/docs/2.4.0/docs/manual.html#com.solarmetric.kodo.ProxyManagerClass
    A simpler solution might be to have the class implement
    InstanceCallbacks, and then implement jdoPreStore() to ensure that your
    relations are set up correctly. E.g.,
    public void jdoPreStore ()
    // ensure that all the elements of the children collection
    // have the proper parent set in the inverse of the relation.
    for (Iterator i = myChildren.iterator (); i.hasNext ();
    ((Child)i.next ()).setParent (this));
    Another option is to have your accessor methods just wrap the collection
    in a small decorator that does the right thing when elements are added.

    The questions is: Is that safe in regards to bytecode enhancement.

    Eivind-
    It is a common question that people have why their JDO model does not
    automatically retain inverse relations in the java model. This is
    because that JDO's transparency means that your enhanced classes should
    not behave any differently than normal java classes. Thus, it is the
    responsibility of the application programmer to ensure that their data
    model remains consistent, just as they would have to in a normal,
    non-JDO application.
    In your case, you could just have a method that deals properly with the
    relation. E.g.:
    public class Parent
    private Collection children = new HashSet ();
    public void addToChildren (Child child)
    children.add (child);
    child.setParent (this).

  • Shared Services question....

    Hi all, I have a question regarding managing Shared Services. Hopefully, I'm posting the subject in the right area.
    I'm trying to restructure the whole security management process for a client and I'd like to verify with everyone if this is the standard industry practice.
    When I set up the admin login (power user), should I provision all levels of access (both read & write) in DEV/TEST? Then after it's set up successfully, should I push it down to PROD?
    When I make changes to access for the end users, should I also provision in DEV/TEST? Do I have to do it again in PROD? or should the end users be able to see the change right away in PROD?
    Thanks for taking time to read.

    Is there a "standard industry practice" for provisioning? I usually find it depends on the client how the provisioning process will operate. I rarely come across provisioning that is applied through all the environments.
    Cheers

  • BI data collection question

    Dear colleagues,
    I have one big question regarding the BI data collection functionality (within the solution reporting tab of T-cd: DSWP).
    To whom it may concerned,
    According to the SAP tutor located at the learning map,
    it looks like SolMan system requires XI installed in order to use the BI data collection. Is this correct? If so, are there any step by step configuration guide that covers from installing XI to enabling the BI data collection function?
    Thank you guys in advance.

    Hi,
    But we want to maintain Item Master in ITEM02, Item Branch in ITEM03  data separate infoobjects because the discriptions always changing that is the reason I created different  Master Data infoobject.
    Let me give one sample data
    Record1: IT001 LOT1 BRAN1 CODE1 CODE2 DS01 DS02 in  2006
    Record2: IT001 LOT1 BRAN1 CODE1 CODE2 DS05 DS04 in  2007
    If you look at above data in 2006 item description was DS01,DS02 and in 2007 Description changed from DS01, DS02 to DS05,DS04 with the same item no.
    We want to maintain item descriptions will be the same in 2006 and 2007 if we change item descriptions in 2007. How can it be possible?
    If I go your way how can we achive this task?
    Do we need Dalta loads?
    Also do i need to create InfoCube? Can I use ITEMNO infoobject as a Data target ?
    Please let me know your thoughts.

  • Sharing collections in Bridge CS5?

    Does anybody know if I can share a collection w/ someone else if we are on the same server of images, using Bridge CS5? It would seem to be a no-brainer, right?

  • File Sharing/Collaborating Question

    I need to understand better how to collaborate as a team on documents.  Situation #1:  I shared a document with a colleague--marked the document "limited access."  The recipient said a password was requred to opent it.  I don't recall an option to provide a password.  Is the password my universal acrobat password, where all documents in my file can be viewed?
    Situation #2:  I shared a different document, different colleague.  When she made edits and went to re-load, she said a password was required.  Same question, do I need to be providing my acrobat password to people I am sharing/collaborating with on documents?
    Situation #3:  During a conference call where participants were screen sharing, a colleague successfully uploaded a revised document to the one we started with.  His document does not appear in my files, in my account.  We definitely viewed it, shared it, online.
    Any coaching and help would be appreciated.
    Thank you.

    Thanks for writing. We’re happy to hear that you’re trying out Buzzword.
    Here’s a little information that may help. There are 3 roles in Buzzword:  author/co-author, reviewer and reader. Authors and co-authors can write, edit and share the document with others. Reviewers can add comments to the document, but cannot share the document further. And readers can view the document, but cannot leave comments or share the document further. (Please see the online Help for more details about each role.)
    The roles are intended to help you manage how different people interact with the document. And, you can change the roles of each person over the lifetime of the document. For example, you may want to give a small group co-author rights to get the document started, and allow writing and editing. As you move through the cycle of the document, you may want to add people as reviewers, and perhaps even change a few co-authors to reviewers as you begin to lock down the content. And finally, when the document is complete, you can then change everyone to a reader. This gives them access to the final document but does not allow them to change the document. This is one way of working that’s been successful with a number of our users.
    In regards to situations #1 and #2 - we do require that individuals have an Acrobat.com account in order to work on a document – even adding comments. There is an option for reading only. You can “Share with a wider audience” - which allows people to read the document without signing in to Buzzword. However, if they want to comment, they will need an account and sign in. In this situation, you would set sharing to the “wider audience” and then copy the URL and send it to those you want to read the document.
    My best guess as to what happened with question #3 is that the individual downloaded the file and made the changes offline, not in Buzzword. This would cause you not to be able to view the changes that had been made in your file.
    Hope this helps! Again, thank you for giving Buzzword a try.

  • Could any expert in WAAS Mobile see this question?

    Hi everybody!
    I succesfully installed WAAS Mobile in a customer. Everything worked fine with WAAS, except for a particular application. WAAS Mobile is not working with a particular client/server Application. When WAAS Client is running, the Application Client is not able to connect to the Application Server.
    Analyzing the packets capture with Wireshark, I observed that the first 3 packets are not being redirected to the WAAS Mobile Server. It is going straight to the Application Server.
    At first I thought that I needed to add another process to the Proxied Process list in WAAS. But using the TCPView software I can see that the process that is sending the first packets is the one that I already added to the Proxied Process list.
    The question is: Is it normal for these first packets not passing through WAAS Mobile Server? Or all the packets of the process should be redirected to the WAAS Mobile Server? Could this problem be a bug? What is the best way to troubleshoot this?
    Thanks!
    Marcio

    First of all, individual packets are not passed thru to the WAAS Mobile Server. All TCP connections for accelerated applications are terminated on the client. The packet content is encapsulated and passed to the WAAS Mobile Server using a UDP connection on port 1182. The fact that you saw packets going to the application server means that the applicaiton in question is not being optimized for whatever reason. To determine the reason, please generate a client and server System Report directly after exercising the problem application with WAAS Mobile. Either open a TAC case for the issue or send the system reports to the Cisco SE assigned to your account. The system reports can then be analyzed to determine why the application is being bypassed.

  • Medical Collection Question...

    Hello allI have a question to do with medical collection: I ask the billing office of where all the medical bills stem from for charity care. I was asked to send them a letter and explain my situation to them I did and they forgave my debt. The question is The hospital Approval letter says: "Your request for uncompinsated services has been approved 100%. This is a one time benefit. Our assistance program does not cover other providers such as physicans, Anestesiology or Radiology, you may want to discuss this assitance approval with your other providers.". On the bottom of the letter it says blah blah about if you need to appeal there decision, then it says This application for assistance remains on records for 6 months, if you have additional care needs please contact financial counciling for assistance. NO WHERE on this approval does it say from the hospital billing office anything about a 2 yr time frame. When I called the collection agency they even said there isnt dates for deletions of bills and this was in review in the colleciton agency office. They did get sent from the hospital 4 bills which were deleted off report the next week. There are 5 remaining. One of the 4 falls within the 2 yrs that is assumed the only date on this letter is on the top of when they sent it to me June 25, 2015. I called the colleciton agency and told them there was a bill they missed that is on my CR, its dated Sep 2013. They then said they dont see that in there system, I called the hospital and told them of one of the bills, they dont see it either. So I called back the CA and she told me to dispute it with the credit report agencys, I have dont that on the 18th of this month. Of course I opened pandoras box by disputing which the colleciton told me to do, they sent me a bill with 5 collections I owe for the hospital bills. So Because they didnt put a "we will forgive 2 yrs of debt" on the letter or is it automatic with medical collections. All 3 have the disputes in so far havent heard anything on that. Thank you very much. I did upload the letter I was given to equifax

    How To Ask Questions The Smart Way
    Eric Steven Raymond
    Rick Moen
    Write in clear, grammatical, correctly-spelled language
    We've found by experience that people who are careless and sloppy writers are usually also careless and sloppy at thinking and coding (often enough to bet on, anyway). Answering questions for careless and sloppy thinkers is not rewarding; we'd rather spend our time elsewhere.
    So expressing your question clearly and well is important. If you can't be bothered to do that, we can't be bothered to pay attention. Spend the extra effort to polish your language. It doesn't have to be stiff or formal — in fact, hacker culture values informal, slangy and humorous language used with precision. But it has to be precise; there has to be some indication that you're thinking and paying attention.
    Spell, punctuate, and capitalize correctly. Don't confuse "its" with "it's", "loose" with "lose", or "discrete" with "discreet". Don't TYPE IN ALL CAPS; this is read as shouting and considered rude. (All-smalls is only slightly less annoying, as it's difficult to read. Alan Cox can get away with it, but you can't.)
    More generally, if you write like a semi-literate b o o b you will very likely be ignored. So don't use instant-messaging shortcuts. Spelling "you" as "u" makes you look like a semi-literate b o o b to save two entire keystrokes.
