LR Mobile won't sync photos

I have been trying all day to sync photos with LR mobile.  I have LR 5.6 on Win7x64 and LR Mobile on an iPad 3 with iOS 8.02.  I have checked that the setup on both machines is in accordance with instructions.  It started out that the mobile was sitting searching for collections while my desktop was trying to sync.  I then deleted the mobile app and reinstalled it. I have two collections one with one photo and another with 146 photos set up in LR to sync with mobile. LR is saying that it's syncing 146 photos.  Both collections do show up on the mobile, both with zero (0) photos and have been sitting that way for a half hour.  It appears that no photos are coming across. I assume that the photos must be uploaded to the "cloud" first and then show up on the iPad.  When I touch the little cloud on my iPad screen it says "up to date" (whatever that means).  My destop LR still says "syncing 146 photos".  My iPad shows "2 collections with 0 Photos".   How can I fix this?

As noted, I’ve reinstalled.  It sees the collections now, which it didn’t before, but no images are transferred.

my ipad won't sync photos anymore, anyone out there can help

You could try clearing the photo cache.
You could also try a reset of the iPad and see if photos sync after the iPad has restarted : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • My itunes10 won't sync photos from my ipad or iphone into iphoto 6. my ipad shows no photos when connected in iphoto. how do i fix?

my itunes10 won't sync photos from my ipad or iphone into iphoto 6. my ipad shows no photos when connected in iphoto. my iphone doesnt show up?
i have about 1900 photos on phone and 50 on ipad. how do i fix?

Try deleting the photo cache from your computer and then re-try the photo sync and see if they then copy over correctly - the location of the cache, and how to delete it, is on this page http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1314

  • IPod won't sync photos and never stops syncing

60GB iPod Video. I recently updated to software version 1.2. I had tons of trouble with this update, so I did a restore. Now, I'm still running the same version, but at least it doesn't crash when looking at videos or podcasts now. However, after it syncs my music and goes to do photos, it just sits there syncing forever. No photos ever end up on the pod and I just have to eject it when it's time for me to go. I know the 1.2 update ***** baaaad, but does anyone have a workaround for this? Has Apple still not acknowledged tons of problems with the 1.2 update?
    Thanks everyone.

I had the same problem and deleted the casche. All worked ok. Then I had another problem, fixed that. However, my photos won't sync any more It just hangs. I deleted my cashe, but it don't help this time.

  • Ipad Won't Sync Photo PT2!

Just upgraded my Ipad today, it seems that all is well. Except, my photos won't sync. When trying to sync photos (and only photos) it says '"XXXX's iPad" cannot be synced because file cannot be found'
i've tried the following to make it work.
    1) turned off sync photos, run sync, turn on again, new sync
    2) try setting the iPad up as a new ipad
    3) deleting the photo cache file.
This is very annoying, hopefully im not the only one having this issue.

    Vere,
Tried your version, but it did not work, still gives the information in pop up "cant find file".
My Ipad II won't synch fotos faces or any picture content form my mac to my ipad
tried all options in scroll bar on " synch photos from Iphoto / picrures/ select file.

  • New 5G iPod won't sync photos or video.

    Hi,
I recieved a brand new iPod today and I attempted to sync it to my PowerBook. However, it kept freezing at certain songs, so in the end, I had to stop syncing every 100 or so songs and then restart syncing as to avoid freezes. This was after my entire library vanished and I had to reimport it all. Finally after 2 hours and 45 minutes I managed to get all my music on it. But... now I keep getting error messages when I try to sync photos and videos. The error message reads:
'The iPod "iPod" cannot be updated. An unknown error has occured (-208)."
I have tried reinstalling iTunes but no luck. I don't want to restore my iPod just yet because all the music is playing fine and I can still add/remove songs manually, but not automatically update. Plus I haven't either the time or energy to sit restarting and unplugging my iPod.
Is this simply a software issue, because the iPod is fine, it plays songs and can act as a hard drive for movie files, but just not upload video or photos that I can view on the iPod. This is even more stressful considering Apple lost my last iPod when I sent it in for battery issues, and I only recieved this new 5G iPod today after two whole months of waiting and hold music! If anyone can help me on this issue, it would be very, very much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Paul

I have the same exact problem. I was on the phone with Apple for 8 hours and various people trying to solve this issue. Thing is, it will accept photos and videos from my old G4 iMac. (USB 1.1). It will not work with USB 2.0, or my new computer for that matter. If you open iTunes > Preferences > iPod -- then look at the tabs. There is no Photo or Video tab.. on my G4 those tabs are present, and videos/photos sync & copy just fine. Apple needs to hurry up and fix this... quite annoying. For now, I will have to use my older apple to get things going. Hope this helps.
Edit: By the way, I am using the newest version of iPod Updater (which doesn't work either), and iTunes 6.0.1 -- and if you do call apple for help, don't restore your ipod, it won't help anything... you'll just lose all your hours of work...

  • IPod Touch 2nd Generation won't sync photos anymore

    Hi all,
My iPod Touch 2nd generation is running OS 3.1.2 on iTunes 9.0.2, Mac OS 10.6.1. It recently automatically removed all the photos from my iPod Touch and won't let me sync them anymore. I go to the Photos tab on iTunes and the albums/events I want to sync are selected, but when I hit the sync button, I can read the status on the iTunes window stating it's syncing music, then contacts, then whatever, and when it comes to photos, it just flashes "syncing photos" for a millisecond and keeps on going. No error messages, nothing. At the end, no photos are on my iPod and the memory status bar on iTunes shows I have a certain GB of music, apps, other, but no photos.
I've tried to sync all everything from iPhoto just to give it a try, with no luck.
    Any ideas?
I've tried to restore my iPod, it works for the first sync, but when I connect the iPod the second time, it removes all the photos again.
    Thanks
    Tadeu

uncheck the Photos Sync and hit Sync. Let it finish. Then go back and check it again and hit Sync. See if that works.

  • Can only sync photos by dropping folder on desktop - iPad won't sync photos

    Hi all,
I've been trying for a couple weeks now to sync photos to my iPad.
I'm running SL 10.6.2 and have updated to the latest iTunes. I have one hard drive that runs only my OS and my applications and I have a secondary drive that contains all my data including music, videos, photos, documents etc.
I have been able to repeatedly successfully sync apps, movies, music, and even a pages document to my iPad from the secondary drive through iTunes.
Every single time I have tried to sync photos it just seems to hang at the Sync in Progress screen for hours. I finally have to cancel because it's obvious the sync will not be successful. This happens whether I have one folder selected with just a dozen photos or several folders selected.
I am not using iPhoto. I'm simply choosing the folders with the images I'd like to sync from the Photos tab in iTunes when my iPad is connected.
Today I took one of the folders I was trying to sync containing 12 photos and dropped it on my desktop. The photos synced in seconds and iPad happily said sync complete. Any ideas?
Is this a quirk with SL 10.6.2, iTunes 9.1, or iPad?
It's not necessarily a huge issue that I have to move all the photos I want to sync to my main mac drive... but I just really didn't want to clutter my OS drive with data stuff... I prefer to keep them separate. Seems the only way I can sync photos right now, though, is to move them to the main mac drive... even though everything else syncs just fine from the secondary drive...
    Thanks for any help!
    ~ Angela

It looks like noone has and Idea how to fix this problem ;-(

  • Help! Slideshow feature in Elements 13 not working properly: Won't sync photos to music

Hi. I'm a photographer who recently updated my Photoshop Elements 11 to the new and "improved" 13. I upgraded specifically for the new advertised slideshow feature. I make these as a fun way to share Wedding Sneak Peeks with my Brides. But when I add photos to the slideshow and add a custom song, then click "Sync photos to music" a box pops up telling me it's working but then nothing ever happens. I can't even click back or cancel the operation. It freezes the entire program and forces me to shut down my computer. Please help! Am I doing something wrong here or is this a bug within the program?

    I've also tried the following:
    - rebuilding iPhoto's Library
    - deleting the "iPod Photo Cache"
    - resetting the sync history
... and this all didn't help at all.

  • Lightroom mobile won't sync (stuck)

i move from apple aperture to lightroom and one of my must have is to sync my photos in to my iPad. with aperture is was easy and simple.
adobe have release lightroom mobile and it's seems like a great idea.
at first setup i sync one folder with 300 photos that i want to edit when I'm not home and its work great! but when i want to sync more folders the sync just stuck.
i delete all and start all over again and it's always stuck. right now i try to sync 1 folder with 22 photos and it's stuck on "syncing 22 photos" 5 hours now and its like that with every try i made in the past week.
i try to "delete all data" in the preference tab, i try to reinstall lightroom... i try every thing
I'm using lightroom for mac and i have cc account lightroom + photoshop
    please help me with this
    thx

Hi Dlp2011. Please try to trigger a "Delete Data" via the Lightroom Preferences -> Lightroom Mobile and re-try to sync your collections with the exception of the "iPhone Photos"-once and let me know if it's working. If so and you would like to have your iphone photos synced create a new collection on your iPad and add them again.
When you add new photos to your mobile device, Lr mobile needs to import the photos locally and send previews+metadata to the back-end. It could be that some of this data was not send and due to this Lr desktop sync started to hand. We identified this bug for 5.5 and should be fixed within the next version 5.6.

  • Itunes won't sync photos to ipod

For some reason in iTunes I can't sync my photos in photo albums within iPhoto to my iPod anymore. It just won't do it; I say I want it to sync selected albums from within iPhotos, it says syncing ipod for about five seconds and then 'complete', but there's nothing on my ipod.
I tried setting up a new folder on my desktop, filled it with the photos I wanted to sync with and when it asked me if I wanted to sync my ipod with this new folder I said yes. Tried to sync in iTunes, nada.
What am I doing wrong, and how hard can this be? It used to work fine; I have no idea what happened to make it go pear shaped.

I forgot to add that music works just fine from the external HDD. I have podcasts on my laptop's hard drive, I synchronise music (form CDs) and videos (from DVDs) from the external HDD, but photos will only work from the laptop's HDD.
Anyone seen anything like this before?
    Hopefully,
    Chris

  • Lightroom Mobile Fails to Sync Photos

After having a collection set to sync, on my mobile devices I can see the collection, however when I open it, no photos are present.  Example below.
If i delete the app, resign in and let it resync the collections, generally it will work then.  Thoughts?

    Hi,
it would be interesting to know exactly what you are doing here.
Does it mean that you upload the images from your Lr Desktop?
It might take a while before the sync is done.
Which version of Lr are you using?
If you compare Lr Mobile with lightroom.adobe.com - is there any difference?
Does it help to update Lr Mobile to 1.2.1?
    Thanks,
    Ignacio

  • Ipad won't sync photos from computer although iPhone 5 syncing ok.

I have tried to load some recent photos onto my ipad by syncing with itunes but the syncing gets to step 6 of 7 and does not complete. My iPhone 5 has synced ok. Have tried switching the iPad on and off again and resyncing but no joy. Any ideas?

The message is that the computer is not associated with that account.
Are you trying to sync your iPad on a computer that you do not usually use to connect your iPad to?
You should use the computer with the backup of your iPad.

  • IPad won't sync photos

I just upgraded to 4.2 and my iPad will no longer sync my photos from iPhoto.
They synced just fine before I upgraded but now I get an error:
"Some of your photos, including the photo "IMG_1402.JPG, were not copied to the iPad because they cannot be displayed on your iPad."
    Some details:
-these photos synced just fine before I upgraded to 4.2
-the photos are all in my iPhoto library
    - I recently had the hard drive on my imac die so it was just replaced with a new one
    - I used Time Machine to restore my system
    Any help is appreciated.

The files that you say are syncing again  - even though they are already on the iPad - will always sync again unless you deselect them in iTunes in which case they will be removed from the iPad. That's how the sync works.
I'm guessing that you may have a corrupt photo or image that is causing the sync to fail or quit. You might want to try removing all of your photos by deselecting them in iTunes then sync - and try adding them back on to the iPad in smaller groups until you are able to nail down the troublesome photo, album or event that causes the sync to stop.
If you want to try removing the photos as suggested, you may want to repeat the remove the iPod photo cache folder one more time before you begin resyncing the photos back onto the iPad.
There are other things that you could try, like deleting your iPad backup - on your computer, launch iTunes and go to iTunes>Preferences>Devices>Your iPad's name and then select delete back up. Quit iTunes and then try to sync again.
Or something a little less invasive that may or may not work - but it will harm nothing - try resetting your iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. Then try to sync again.
