LR to Flickr: Images return to unedited version upon export...hmmm

Hi,
New to LR, so sorry if this is a silly question. I have "developed" some images and now want to put the nice looking ones up on Flikr. I know how to use the Flikr uploader stand alone, or via the export function. My problem is that when I drop them in Flikr, ( or in just a folder on the desktop) they are reverting back to the original image. For example, if I have used a B&W filter and made some adjustments in the exposure and I then attempt to drop that image into a desktop folder or Flikr it drops in the color image that I originally started with, not my adjusted one.
Anybody know what the fix is here? Using a new copy of LR 2.3 on a Macbook running Leopard 10.5.8

Yes, I agree it is nice to pay. I was telling him it was free, so he could use it for himself for the 60 days and it is unlimited exports for those 60 (or 30 days, I forget).
Then after those 60 or 30 days, whatever it is, it drops down to 10 images per xport -at an export. When/If you pay your measly insulting $1
It's not TECHNICALLY free, it IS free.
Anyone with any sense of understanding on what it takes to put the time into what this cat does, is screweing hiimself/ herself out of karma points if they don't donate to this person.
Regardless if it is right or not, if they don't pay, that is on them and their conscience, or if they don't have a conscience - then I guess it just 'IS'.
Then, there are the rest of us folks who appreciate this guy and ALL others like him who put out free-plugs or in this case pseudo-free plugs, and we pay for it/them. I know I can't afford another piece of software that just sits and is also non-returnable refundable. I know that if I weren't able to 'try it' before I buy it, well, try before I bought it.

It can't even recognize the photos on my iphone are all edited? Who has time to email over 100 vacation photos to get them correct? That is beyond acceptable from Apple.

After editing in lightroom, i transferred the photo to final cut pro. However the photo that shows in final cut pro is the unedited version and a bit blurry. Any ideas?

IIs there an export function from Lightroom? Did you export? Does the exported file contain your edit?
THe hard drive file size doesn't matter. What matters is the image size, it's dimensions in pixels.
IN FCP press Cmd-J to see the project properties.

On Windows 8.1 and Firefox 36.0.1 the textarea in forms has no carriage returns. Earlier versions the forms work. Is there a fix for this?

Prior to this version of Firefox 36.0.1, the <textarea> in my HTML forms was working; displaying carriage returns. In version 36.0.1 they no longer function properly. Instead when I enter a carriage return, it displays a space instead of a newline. I went to the most basic textarea testing
<textarea> name="comments" cols=20 rows=10 </textarea>
to make sure I wasn't introducing anything with other languages.
I am using Windows 8.1 Pro. I rolled back to Firefox 35.0 and everything works fine. I install 36.0.1 and it stops working.
I have access to another Laptop also running the same version of windows and Firefox and it appears to be doing strange things as well. I am suspicious in that I started noticing this immediately after a windows upgrade last night. The laptop also experienced the issues it is having immediately after a windows update yesterday evening.
I have yet another PC running a different version of windows and Firefox and it too works fine. It looks like the issue is where there is windows 8.1 Pro and Firefox 36.0.1.
Do you guys have any idea what is going on here?

The current release supports the white-space property for a text area and it is possible that the website uses white-space: pre instead of white-space: pre-wrap.
The former will prevent Firefox from wrapping the text.
You can check that in the Inspector via the right-click context menu.

Dashboard flickr image removal. How do I remove a flickr image from the Dashboard?!

I forgot how I managed to creat a little image window with someone's flickr image into my Dashboard, but now I can't get rid of it. The image has no live links only an edit button that allows you to move the image within its box. I tried going to flickr to see if any images had the option of importing them to the Dashboard, but that isn't an option.....how the heck I got it to the Dashboard in the first place I don't remember. Regardless I want the image gone and it doesn't have delete to remove it. Help!

If you really mean Dashboard, that's where your widgets are, in which case you hit the plus key ( + ) in the lower left corner and then click the X on the widget you want to delete. But if you meant the Dock, you click and drag it off and it disappears in a puff of smoke.

Problem with image returned from getGeneratedMapImage method

I'm a newbie as far as map viewer and Java 2D goes....
My problem is the java.awt.Image returned from the getGeneratedMapImage method of the MapViewer API. The image format is set to FORMAT_RAW_COMPRESSED. The image returned is of poor quality with colors not being correct and lines missing. I'm painting the Image returned from this method onto my own custom JComponent by overriding the paint() method...

If I take the xml request sent to the application server and paste it into a "sample map request" on the map admin website (along with changing format to PNG_STREAM) my image renders exactly how I expect it to.
Anyone have any idea what I need to do to get the java.awt.Image with format set to FORMAT_RAW_COMPRESSED to render correctly. I was hoping to get back a BufferedImage or a RenderedImage from the getGeneratedMapImage call but I'm getting back a "sun.awt.motif.X11Image".
Will downloading the JAI (java advanced imaging) from sun help me at all?

Turns out it is related to colors. I'm dynamically adding themes, linear features and line styles. I ran a test where I changed the color being specified in the line style from magenta (ff00ff) to black. When I changed the color the linear feature would show up. It was being rendered as white on a white background when I was specifying it to be magenta. I'm specifying another linear feature to be green and it is showing up in the java image as yellow. This doesn't happen when I take the generated XML from the request and display it as a PNG_STREAM.
Any clue what is going on there?

The D610 didn't get out-of-the-box RAW support until Photoshop CC.
You can either upgrade to CC or use the DNG Converter to convert and open your DNGs in CS5.

The first time I attempted to install ML was on a late 2011 MBP. It ran for three minutes then gave me the error message: Could not install OSX due to an unexpected error. I was using the original ML install app, not a USB or other drive.
After a couple of restarts wiht the same result I saw a message to the effect that the install was trying to close open apps. I closed apps manually a few times to no avail. I shut down instead of restarting then booted into Safe mode (hold down the shift key when starting) and that did it. The install went smoothly after that.
I since installed ML in two iMacs using a cloned copy of the install app on a USB drive. This time I shut down the computers and booted into Safe Mode first and there were no problems.
I don't know if this issue is the one causing you these problems but it is a simple enough solution to try.

Has anyone had trouble manipulating Nikon D750 raw image (NEF) in Aperture (version 3.6 500021000000000.3, Digital Camera RAW 6.0 - Build 761.5, Digital Camera RAW support 6000 - Build 136.1)
I used to be able to manipuplate Nikon Raw (NEF) images from a Nikon D70 and D3200 using Aperture, until the 70 died and the 3200 was stolen about 18 months ago. Recently I did two things: (1) I upgraded OS X to Yosemite and (2) purchased a Nikon D750. I have successfully imported NEF files from the camera to Aperture, but the images do not render/ cannot be opened/ manipulated. Instead, I see a black thumbnail for each imported image with a cassette recorder play icon in the center of each image.
I can view the NEF image in Finder preview mode, either directly when viewing the images on the camera SD card or after exporting the previously imported NEF image from Aperture to my desktop or user folder. Previously imported NEF image seem unaffected.

The current Apple OSX 10.10 Yosemite and the current Aperture version 3.6 do not have support yet for importing Nikon d750 nef/raw files. It usually takes Apple six to eight weeks to release a new digital camera raw update file for new Nikon dslr models. Once that digital camera raw update file is finally released, update your current version of Aperture and that will allow you to import your d750 raw files. In the meantime, you have many workarounds. In my opinion, the easiest is to save images in duplicate nef/raw and jpeg image files to your SD cards.
And for now, just import the jpegs to Aperture 3.6 from your d750. Process your jpegs in Aperture - and hope your clients are happy with the jpegs and can wait for later nef/raw image processing. Be sure to save and do not erase your original SD cards that include the nef/raw and jpeg files - then when Aperture finally releases a new digital camera raw file update that includes the d750 - just insert your original camera SD cards into the computer platform and import the old d750 nef/raw files and edit/process them.
There are many other ways to proceed in the interim as well. You can always import your d750 nef/raw images into Lightroom (if it has been updated to convert the d750 nef files) and process them there. But for the time being, if you can afford to save and hold onto your original SD cards and wait for the inevitable Aperture digital camera raw update, this is a very easy and simple way to proceed.

You cannot downgrade the iOS on any iDevice. There is not way to install iOS 5 again.

How to select multiple images and creat new versions???

How do i select 800 images and make new versions of all of them at the same time? I have tried, but it only does the primary one selected and i don't have primary only selected.

Option V works for me (duplicate version), as does option G (new version from master).

IWeb publishes the unedited versions of my photos?

I'm using the media browser within iWeb to drag photos to my site. Everything looks fine and dandy in iWeb. These photos are coming straight out of an iPhoto album and have been edited in iPhoto. When I publish, iWeb decides to upload the unedited versions of my photos. When I view them on my site, they are the original unedited versions. When I download them from the site, I get the edited version.
Obviously I'd rather not have to export them from iPhoto and then add them to iWeb because this method should work fine.
I saw a post from someone else marked solved who said he'd rebuilt his iPhoto library and it had started working. I did this last night by holding command and option while opening iPhoto and then opting to rebuild everything. Thumbnails, database, everything.
Still not working.
Anybody else having this problem or know of anything I can do to attempt to resolve it?

I'm now 100% convinced this is a problem with iPhoto, not iWeb.
I just tried exporting some photos for deviantART upload from iPhoto and though they display properly and open up in preview looking all nice and edited, as soon as I upload them to dA, they 'revert' to the unedited original version in both Safari and FF.
And I'm using FF3 and Safari b4.
I don't think there's much I can do to troubleshoot iPhoto other than deleting the plist which I've already done.
Oh, bother.

At first I was for Illustrator to have a page layout capability and made a feature request to that regard then I obtain Quark and came to the forum and thought well I have that capability and then I realized there were other users that needed Illustrator for layouts and so I backed users like Gary Newman who as i recalled were for multiple pages in Illustrator but I was against making Illustrator a page layout application since it was not designed for it but thought it should have a page making tool but thought it should be one that offer multiple size pages or if you wish multiple size documents within a document.
When they introduce artboards I pointed out that this tooll offered the possibility for a multiple page capability that was more than just pages since you could make pages or if you prefer different size doicuments within one document and then suggest the ability to ba able to name the artboards, like Letterhead, Envelope, Business Card, Mailing Label etc abnd the ability to rearrange them at the moment my most recent suggestion is Master Artboards.
The reason for artboards instead of just a page layout mechanism is one that already exist in ID and two the user of illustrator are artist that Illustrate or work with Illustration or artwork that is often used with ext and photos but are not necessarily page layout designers andmore than likely would employ the use of text to work with a specific Illustration or group of illustrations where the text and art might be integrated as a work into itself as opposed to an element on a page and that might often be the end design of that page. Such as a childrens book!
I was never opposed to the feature of being able to output pages from Illustrator I am opposed to amking it a page layout application and now tith the Cloud which will give Adobe the opportunity to build a modular suite of creation tools it will be even less necessary, the Multiple art feature will develop in my opinion and will include supoport for die cutting as well as packaging tools. Those tools will relate to Illustrator and may eventually give way to a new way to cross application tools.
The Future is coming soon at a Cloud near you, soon is like ten years or so.

Returning to previous version of SC

Hello,
I've read several threads that say that returning on an older version of a DC is impossible as DC's don't have versions (Maybe this should be changed ?) .
However, if we have a version of an SC which has been approved , how do we return to this version of the source code once it has already evolved.
For exp : We approve and deploy SC1 1.0 in production. We then deploy version 1.1 but we find that the changes we did cause so many problems that it would be better to go back to version 1.0 and redesign.
How do we return to version 1.0 and restart development from there ?

if the approved version SC1 1.0 is assembled with sources I would create a new track, reimport all SCA into that track and continue development there. The old track could be used for reference purposes (what did we do wrong in 1.1? Don't want to repeat history) and I would remove all DTR write permissions on the old workspaces.
The issue basically is that you cannot really go back in time in a DTR workspace. Once there are newer versions for a resource you could only try to recreate an old state by creating a new version (with old content). If you have new workspaces (i.e. within another track) you can import the old versions there and they will be the current versions for that workspace. If that paragraph was confusing please ignore it, I get lost sometimes in those version graphs....

Raws, even if not compressed, Sould be smaller than a 24-bit Tiff, since they have only one bitplane. My T3i shoots 14 bit 18MP raws and has a raw file size of 24.5 MB*. An uncompressed Tiff should have a size of 18 MP x 3 bytes per pixel or 54 MB.
*There must be some lossless compression going on since 18 MP times 1.75 bytes per pixel is 31.5MB for uncompressed raw.
