LR to PS to LR

It is easy enough to get to PS from LR. There must be and equally simple way back to LR after editing. What is it?
Many thanks, Paula

When you choose "Edit in Photoshop" from within LR (e.g. by right-clicking the image in LR), it opens a copy in Photoshop.  Then in Photoshop, you just use "Save" (not Save As), and back in LR, the copy edited in Photoshop is stacked alongside the original.  You can then edit the copy in Lightroom.
You can't avoid creating a copy when you edit in Photoshop (or any other external editor), as external programs can't edit in the same non-destructive way as Lightroom.
