LR update notice deletes catalog

I came here with this issue a year or so ago, but it seems to be unheard of. However, it keeps happening to me.
I have LR4, and the issue is that occasionally upon launching it, a box will pop up letting me know there is an update available, and do I want to download it. Before I can even respond, what happens every_single_time when this box appears is that my current LR catalog is wiped out, showing only photos from the most recent import. Then, when I go to "file", "open recent" to try to relaunch the previous catalog, all that's been there in the past were those images from the most recent import. This time however - there's not even that. Also in past occurrences, I was able to at least relaunch my most recent back up catalog. However this time when I go to "open catalog" and try to do so, I receive an error message that says "Lightroom cannot launch with this catalog. It is either on a network volume or on a volume on which LR cannot save changes".
I know that the images (and I assume LR edits) are still on my hard drive, but at this point it is all completely inaccessible for me, which is so disheartening. I would really appreciate help in figuring this out. Thanks in advance.

It appears you are saving your LR Backups into subfolders nested below earlier backup folders. This has caused the 'file path' to become very long:
C:\Users\Mary\Pictures\Lightroom\2013-09-03 0637\Backups\2014-07-08 0805\Backups\2014-09-01 2214\Backups\2014-11-26 2300\Backups\2015-03-14 1516\Lightroom 4 Catalog.lrcat
This is well within Windows file and folder limits, but LR may have more restrictions concerning the LR catalog path. When installing a LR update it appears the current LR catalog file can't be found because of the long path. Ditto when you try to use a Catalog Backup file!
I suspect you may have a similar issue with your current working LR catalog. The LR catalog file and Previews should be stored directly under the Lightroom subfolder and not in subfolders below it.
Here's the location:
C:\Users\[user name]\Pictures\Lightroom\
Here's what should be in the above Lightroom folder with LR is closed:
Lightroom 4 Catalog.lrcat File
Lightroom 4 Catalog Previews.lrdata Folder
Please close LR and move your most current Lightroom 4 Catalog.lrcat file and Lightroom 4 Catalog Previews.lrdata folder to the above location and never move or rename them in the future. Next open LR and go to menu File> Catalog and select the Lightroom 4 Catalog.lrcat file at the above location.
As Jim has suggested LR Catalog Backups should be stored on a separate drive the same as your picture file backup copies. A backup software application should be used to keep the backup current with new files, changed files, and deleted files. When saving a new LR catalog backup don't create a new subfolder. Use the same destination folder (Lighroom Backups) on the external drive and LR will create its own subfolder with the Lightroom 4 Catalog.lrcat file.

I am shure there are many different approaches so here is what I have in mind:
In case you need to react to deleted rows in your original table you need a sub table to trigger your biztalk for datasets that do not exist any longer.
In this table you need 2 colums:
first one to correlate to your original data row (id),
second one to hold the status: For ex. 0= new, 1=update, 3=deleted
Then you need a
Trigger event on your original table that sets the status for the modified data id in your new table.
You can then poll on this sub table as you already mentioned in your question.

Delete update notice - iPad?

This is new.
My iPad (1) wants to update to 5.1. I have 5.0.1. I read what the update does and am not interested. I've told iTunes to stop asking me to update but there doesn't seem to be any way to clear the REALLY ANNOYING RED 1 notice on the main screen and in the settings icon.
I updated to 5 for the new messenger via email, and this is why I don't usually update -- the new annoyances almost always outweigh the new features.
So, fellow travelers -- is there any way to get rid of the update notice? (Besides updating, I mean.)
I'm really tired of my electronics bossing me around.

So, no help this time. Via Google I found the only way to turn this notification OFF is to jailbreak the device.
I can't say how STUPID I think this is - to pay a premium for a device then be hobbled in the way use is restricted.
Oh well. Don't think I'll jailbreak - just stay vexed, I guess.

I have TomTom on my iPhone and they offered an update I do not need. How do I get rid ofthe update notice? There is a constant reminder on my App Store icon.

You can't get rid of the update notice. Your choices are to update or live with the notice.

Firefox will not open. Can't update or delete. Says it's already open and I am unable to find how to close it.

Firefox shows notice that it is already open and must be closed in order to update or delete. I can't locate a place to close the process. It's probably something very simple but I am not a computer genius. Thanks!

Have you tried looking for firefox.exe in the Processes tab of Task Manager (you can get to that by using Ctrl-Alt-Delete, usually)? If you click on firefox.exe in that list and then click End Process, it should close Firefox, even if Firefox doesn't appear to be running (sometimes the process takes a bit longer to close than the main window). If all else fails, perhaps a reboot?

Uninstall your existing copy of iTunes. Delete any copies of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) installer files from your downloads areas for your web browsers and download a fresh copy of the iTunes installer from the Apple website:

(The current build of the 11.1.4.62 installer was changed a few days ago, which fixed the bulk of the reports of MSVCR80.dll/R6034/APSDaemon.exe/Error-7/AMDS-could-not-start trouble ... but the build number on the installer was not changed. So we're trying to make sure you do the reinstall using a "new good" 11.1.4.62 installer instead of an "old bad".)
Does the install with the new copy of the installer go through properly? If so, does that clear up the error message?

Turn off crapware apps update notices

Like everyone else with this phone, mine came loaded with crapware from places like Blockbuster, Rhapsody, and several media apps from Verizon. I keep getting notices to update them. I don't ever intend to use any of them.
Is there any way to tag the crapware apps to turn off update notices for them? I understand they can't be deleted from the phone.
Along with the dropping 4G network problem, the crapware issue is my biggest annoyance with Verizon.
I've been a customer of theirs for 11 years, and this contract may be the last.

That's correct. You can shut off all update notices.
The problem is that the "automatic update" function for some apps isn't very "automatic." I've found it necessary, for some apps, to click on manual update notifications even when "automatic" is checked.
However, for those that want to take this path, go to the Android Market, click "menu," then click "settings," and uncheck "notifications."
To close out, the crapware apps seem to have a marketing concept that believe if they are in your face enough times, you'll eventually click on them.
My advice is don't unless you have lots of money to spend on data.. Videos and music from services likes Blockbuster and Rhapsody will quickly chew up your data budget on a smartphone. You're better off, if you really want to use these services, getting them on your desktop and laptop.
Another tip is don't fire up cloud services while on 4G. It still pays to wait for access to wifi unless you really need it, like GPS, etc.

Un-needed Update Notices

I installed Reader 10.1 on my Macintosh a few weeks ago. Despite that, I continue to get notices from Adobe Updater telling me that I need to update Reader to 9.4.5. Is there some way to tell updater that I have moved on?

I don't see any obvious .plist files for Reader 9. Just a few that don't specify which version they are for.
But your theory is basically correct. When the update notices originally started, the install would run but then report that it failed. Adobe's recommended corrective action was to manually download the update and install it. When I visited Adobe's download site, I noticed that the latest version of Reader for the Mac was 10.1, so I downloaded and installed it. A few days later, I again received a notice that I needed to upgrade to 9.4.5. After a few iterations of this, I searched the hard drive on my Mac and found the Reader 9 .app file and deleted it. Unfortunately, that didn't stop the bogus upgrade notices.

Try this repair, ensure you complete all the tasks and in the order shown:
1 delete all the iWork applications if you have them, not just Keynote, use Appcleaner from Mac Update to           do this, its freeware
2 restart the Mac;   Apple menu > restart
3 immediately after the start chime, press the shift key until you see the Apple symbol.
         let it fully boot up, it will take longer as the OS is repairing the drive
4 when fully booted, go to Applications > Utilities > Disc Utility; click on the boot drive then First Aid tab and           click repair disc permissions
5 when complete, restart the Mac normally
6 install Keynote from the Mac App Store

Error in updating ALV field catalog in selection tool for Planning Book

I am Implementing BADI '/SAPAPO/SDP_SELECTOR' to upload Custom Fields Data in Planning Book Selection Window under APO Location Product. These Custom Fields are maintained in Custom Table.So from Table whatever Custom Fields are availabe all the fields needs to be available in for selection. Once selection is done the same data to be uploaded into Planning Book.
This BADI is working Fine upto 4 fields but if any extra fields are added in the table 'Error in updating ALV field catalog in selection tool' error Pop Up is coming. Here i am using Folloowing Methods
1). INIT_OBJECT_LIST
2). F4
3). LOC_PROD_VALUE_LIST
Please help on the same if u have any idea or clue.

Hi,
As of now in Xcelsius/Dashboard Design there is no feature or functionality to insert/update/delete data from database.
Solution:
Create a Web service in let’s say C# or Java, which will perform insert/update/delete operation.
In Xcelsius add Web Service connection and user above web service.
Xcelsius Web Service connection provides option to pass input values to a Web Service (Input Pane) and get the result (Output values pane).
We can pass values to be written to the database as a input to Web Service via Web Service connection from Xcelsius and write data to the database.
Note:
Performing delete operation from Xcelsius Dashboard could be risky and may delete important data from database. I would not prefer giving delete option/functionality in Xcelsius dashboard.

What table do you process in your procedures ? You don't use DBLINK to
reference remote table in your procedures.
Seems, you have table "TT" in "HR" schema too.
