LR update photos in FB?

I published some photos to facebook.  Can anyone tell me what happens to comments, likes, etc, if I make changes to the photos and republish them?  Do the photos update "in their spot" on facebook, or does it just upload the photo a second time, thereby leaving an originally uploaded version (that people may have commented on), in addition to a second newer version?

I think it will replace your current one. So all your comments and like will be lost. However, from my experience, most of the time, it will give you some error saying "cannot remove/delete xxx image". And you'll end up having 2 copies of the same image on FB. You'll have to log into FB and manually delete one. I've heard Jfgrey FB plug-in (spelling) works better but I haven't tried it.

  • I just updated photos on Yosemite and now iPhoto is gone.  How can I get it back?

I just updated photos on Yosemite and now iPhoto is gone.  How can I get it back?

What were you running before you updated? 10.10.2, or an earlier version of OS X (10.9 or earlier)?
If 10.10.2, then iPhoto should still be on your machine. If not, then go to the App Store, purchased tab, and look for iPhoto, and download it (you'll need iPhoto 9.6.1 to run on Yosemite).
If you never installed iPhoto from the Mac App Store, then you should contact AppleCare, who can probably help you out. That's the only option in this case; upgrading from 10.9 or earlier straight to 10.10.3 is a bad incidence of timing.

  • HT201317 How come my photo stream no longer updates photos automotically?

My phone no longer updates photos which I take automotically and the settings have not changed. I've also deleted many photos in my photostream so there's definitely enough room. My phone and laptop are also connected to wifi and icloud is on.. Can't figure out why this isn't working..

You might have to go to Settings>iCloud and turn photo stream off, then back on to get it working again.  To avoid losing any photos in the process, open your my photo stream album, tap Edit, tap the photos you want to keep, tap Share, tap Save to Camera Roll.  When you turn photo stream back on, you will only get photos added in the last 30 days.  Older photos are removed from your photo stream (even though they will remain on your device until deleted or you turn photo stream off).
Also, photos are only added to photo stream when you are connected to wifi, the camera app is closed and you have at least 20% battery life remaining.

  • Problem updating photo library

I just upgraded my eMac to Leopard, and now am trying to upgrade it to iLife 08. It seems to go fine, but when I open iPhoto, it says it needs to "update photo library." I have about 9,000 photos. It runs for several hours, and the blue bar hits about 80% complete, and the screen says I have 44 minutes left, and it sticks there. For hours. Any suggestions on what I should do?
    Jeff KC

    Jeff
I am wondering if I should go in to my iPhoto Library and move most of the files to another location,
Under no circumstances should you do that - all that will achieve is corrupt your library.
Try Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums back.
    Then try update that library.

  • IPhoto on iPhone never completes Updating Photo Library

    Tried about 10 times.
After opening iPhoto, it attempts to Update Photo Library. It gets about 3/4 way done and then quits.
(I do have a LOT of photos, probably about 20,000 on my phone)
    iPhone 4S 64GB, IOS 5.1

I guess I simply had to many photos.
They were all from my iPhoto library on my computer. I synced my my iPhone to my computer and deleted most of them. I can put the photos back on later.
    Iphoto is working now.

  • IWeb not updating photos

When I update photos on iWeb (I have a Photos page with 9 albums), sometimes the published website "ignores" the updates.  Although I save and update a new photo, it just doesn't appear on the website.  This doesn't happen every time, or with every album.  And sometimes even if I rearrange the albums, to try to give iWeb an extra "push", it doesn't see that change either.  Forced updating of the entire website doesn't fix the problem.  Any ideas?  Updates work fine on other pages, and on some photo albums.  I'm running iWeb 3.0.4 on Lion, and the website is not hosted on mobileme.  The url is http://www.hsvbrushstrokes.com/HSVBS/Home.html

First you need to make sure you are emptying the browser cache before visiting the published site.
To make sure that iWeb is actually adding the images, publish you site to a local folder...
    http://www.iwebformusicians.com/iWebMusicWebsite/MusicWebsiteBuilding.html
... and launch it in the browser by double clicking the index.html file. Are the photos present in this version of your site?

  • The msg of "Updating photo LIbrary " pop up and it takes about 30 mintues to update

I ve the iphoto for pad and i have over 10000 photo in it, but..everytime i start using the app, the msg of "Updating photo LIbrary " pops up and it takes about 20 mintues to update....and after the update, anyone facing the same problem?

    Chris,
I agree with you that it would be nice for iPhoto for iOS to only update the edited photos and the camera roll when updating the photo library. Or perhaps check for other areas quickly and update only new albums. But at present iPhoto seems to look through the entire photo library when updating. If you have numerous photos on your iPad the updating takes longer. You may not agree that that's a good thing but it is the way it is. Having fewer photos will result in shorter update times.
The time it takes to update the photo library seems based on how many photos you have and not how much space you had on your iPad. We agree that this is not a good thing but again, that's the way it is right now.

  • Does lightroom update photos in bridge

does lightroom update photos that are shown in bridge?

    Hi,
as i said, this photo is displayed in PA20, after ulpoading from Frontend via Portal Appl,  so everything till now is in order. this a WDA issue, because the class CL_HRTMC_BASIC_UTILITIES use that method that is checking if the photo is buffred or not, if the photo is buffred, it will get the last URL from the cluster table (INDX), if not, after geting it using ArchivL FM, will get a new URL, in tis case it will be buffred in the cluster table with the new URL and with the timstamp (Timestamp is a future time (one Houre or one day, it depends) this is from SAP). and in the next time , if the user uploded a photo and after starting newly the Appl and clicking on the same person number, automaticlly this methode will be generated, and deliver a specialy Timstamp which will be copmpared with the timestamp buffred with the person number and  the URL of the photo. if its less , the new photo will be displayed, if not the old photo will be displayed.
    this is WDA issue

  • Im stuck on "Updating Photo Library" why

I install the App two weeks ago. I tried to install and reinstall and restart phone etc etc. It is always stuck on "Updating Photo Library"
The App has never opened?? can I get a refund?
    Steve

When iPhoto is stuck on updating iPhoto library, it usually means, that there is a problem with photo in your camera roll or albums created in the Photos app.
When you launch iPhoto the first time, it tries to collect all albums, photo stream, photos in the camera roll and builds an iPhoto library from this.  If you only are seeing an empty library, the problem is probably with the Photos.app and not with iPhoto, i.e., since reinstalling iPhoto did not help. Either one of the photos or videos in your camera roll or photo stream is unreadable, or there is a problem with the albums in the photos.app.
You could try if saving all photos to a computer and deleting all photos from the iPhone will solve this, or you could backup the contents of the iPhone to iTunes and restore the iPhone to factory settings. See:  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
Unfortunately can the Photos.app not be reinstalled on its own, since it is comes as part of the operating system installation.

I accidentally touched the auto enhance icon in iPhoto and now the program is stuck at "Updating photo."  How do I make it stop?

Try to quit iPhoto from the Home Screen - the recent app section.:
Double click the Home button to reveal the recently used apps.
Then tap and hold on the iphoto for ios icon until it wiggles. It will show a "minus" sign in the corner.
Now tap the minus sign to quit the app.
Click the screen above the row of recent apps to return it to normal.
Now restart iPhoto and see if it back to normal.

  • Can't Update Photo Stream

I have installed the iCloud Control Panel app for Win7 and I have an iPad2 with iOS5.01.
I am trying to sync pictures and on my PC's control panel app in the taskbar I have the message "Can't Update Photo Stream"
    Any ideas?
I have logged out and in , turned off the iCloud for Photos on my iPad and PC and still the same.
    Thanks
    Marc

Ditto for my wife's PC.  I uninstalled the iCloud control panel, rebooted, ran Apple's Software Update (which brings up the iCloud software for you to optionally download it), downloaded and reinstalled the iCloud control panel, and everything worked again.  I've had to do this twice so far.  It was working fine until Microsoft Software Update installed some patch on the 14th, and then it was no-go.

  • Downloaded OS 10.10. Was instructed to download iPhone 9.6. After 9.6 was downloaded iPhoto requested to update photo library which it will not do. How do I upgrade the photo library?

Downloaded OS 10.10. Was instructed to download iPhone 9.6. After 9.6 was downloaded iPhoto requested to update photo library which it will not do. How do I upgrade the photo library?

    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • Constantly Updating Photo Library

On both my "new" iPad and my iPhone, it's driving me to drink. About every 5-10 minutes, when I'm working in iPhoto on either device, all of a sudden, it starts doing its "Updating Photo Library" thing and that stops me from working. It is very, very annoying. I looked at tech articles and the last few days here in this subject area and haven't spotted any information.
Does anyone have any clue as to what causes this? And, if so, if there is anything that I can do bring it down to a bearable frequency? TIA.
(P.S. Looked at a couple suggestions that showed up on the right after I posted. Those users had problems syncing. I didn't originally nor have I had any problems syncing.)

This is a common occurrence and there is no way I know of to stope the updating of the library. Any changes to the photo library will result in updating in iphoto for iOS. You can leave feedback on this to Apple here:
