LR V1.2 Having problems using the find Command

Have just recently started using lightroom and so far managing most applications imported a series of photos and after import added keywords to them using the find function I cannot get images to appear. What seems to happen is that in the keyword tag and the folders any of the headings that contain the keyword become active the remainder show a zero no in number of images held in that folder but no images on screen

have switched of global filters, made sure that using the Find command have set keywords in "text box" and in the "rule box "contains". When I then enter a key word as soon as a type the first two or three letters
a message appears on the screen no "No photos in the selected keyword Tag" Also when you look at the folders which have a series of numbers indicating the photos in the directory the first number in each set turns to 0 with the exception of the folder and sub folder were the images are
So have not managed to make any progress

Is anyone else having problems using the Elements 9 Organizer?

I have upgraded from Elements 6 to Elements 9 and am finding glitches in the organizer and some of its functions. For example, to share my images online through Photoshop Showcase, I need to unstack them before making an album. If I do not unstack, all the images in the stack, regardless of how I select them, are included in the album. I stack my worked and edited images together with the original photo. When I use the display in 'import batch' view, I get several copies of my images in each import date of those that are also included in my stack, very frustrating. Often the stacks just keep on multiplying in the display using this sort of view. When I delete an image from a stack, the display jumps to another time and date and image on my organiser and I need to note and remember where I was working so that I can get back to the right spot again. I am less than happy with this and other obvious bugs in this version.

I too encountered difficulties with Stacks. The advantages were few, the disadvantages many, so I unstacked everything and have never never used it again.

I am having trouble using the IMAQ command RejectBorder. Can somebody give me some guidance?

My image is 768x576, which I confirmed by right-clicking on the Image Info property. I set a border using the Image.Border = 20.
When I threshold, then do a RejectBorder, blobs along the top and left sides of the image are eliminated, but not those along the right or bottom.
Any ideas?

Try setting the property image.BorderWidth to be different values and see if this changes the blobs that are eliminated. The border should be even all the way around the image.
Take a look at the example program called Blob Analysis in the folder C:\Program Files\National Instruments\VB\Samples\IMAQ\2. Functions\Binary Analysis for an example of using this function.

Having Problems Using the MSI Display Settings in Vista 32bit

Whenever I try to install the latest Nvidia driver for my video card which is a NX8600GTS OC I can't find the Display setting for my VGA information,VGA Clock, Vivid,Star OSD, etc. It seems that this video card isn't fully compatible with Windows Vista. In the Dual Core Center only certain applications work. Could someone please help? I have a Intel Duo Core E6600 2.4GHz. processor. I think everything is connected correctly. I'm using Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit. Thank you in advance for any help.

Thank you'll for that great advice. You'll are no doubt computer gurus. I've heard of RivaTuner and the other programs you mentioned but I get a little lost in trying to use them to set the fan speed etc. thats why I was relying on the MSI utilities program to guide me because I do know that if I set something wrong as far as the clock speed what have you I can do irreversible damage to my computer. If I could ask you'll one other question. When performing a clean install of my OS after installing the chipset driver to computer's motherboard then it would be best to do what? Install the MSI driver for the video card and then download the latest driver from Nvidia over the one that I installed with the MSI? Thats what I understood you'll to say.

I am having problems using the ios 6 maps

I am on the iPad 2 and I recently downloaded ios 6. Everytime I have tried to use it these words come up "cannot determine location" The location services are on so I don't know what's wrong! I'm really starting to wish I hadn't updated!

This wont help, but i just had to add my twopenneth. These maps are terrible, where is street view? Where is the close up satellite view I had of the Cotswolds and Wiltshire. iOS 6 is a downgrade not an upgrade . I am horrified at how bad this is. Give me back Google Maps, this is a disgrace. I want to upgrade to v5.1. It's all well and good Tim Cook saying he's sorry, he needs to act. I used google map street view daily as I'm house hunting and now I can't even get a close up vie overhead in the ares I'm looking in. So disappointed in Apple.

Problems using the Program Monitor

Dear Premiere users,
I recently bought Adobe Premiere CS3 and i'm having problems using the Program Monitor.
I cant see anything off screen. It just wont show anything if its outside the boundaries of the screen. I can adjust the zoom level but that wont change anything even if i set it to full screen.
Another problem I'm having is that it wont show motion paths or clip handles. Even if I make a motion path in the Effects Control window it wont show the path in the Program Monitor.
I really appreciate any advice on this because it drives me crazy. I already tried installing it again but that wont solve the problem.

First of all I hope you are being sarcastic Jim. Sorry for being not that clear but I'm not stupid :).
Craig Howard is right. I thought that the Program Monitor was similarly to AEFX. But I suppose I was wrong on this one? So you cant get something to display outside the image area? If I place a clip outside the project dimension it just disappears in the Program Monitor.
And about the motion paths. I thought I read in the Premiere help files that they do show up in the Program Monitor. The topic says: "Adjust position, scale, and rotation" or "Animate motion in the Program Monitor ". There are pictures over there that show clip handles and motion paths in the Program Monitor. Clicking the effect wont do anything for me. Its like my video driver cant get them to show or something.

They are dragging frames off screen and are using the handles and borders around the frame to adjust them. So I guess it should be possible, but how?

How to Connect to ftp server in active mode using the finder

How can I can I use the finder command "connect to server" to connect to a ftp server using the active Mode. With Cyberduck I can connect to this server only in active mode. Apparently the connect to server command uses the ftp passive mode.
Or is it an other way to mount on the desktop a ftp server in active mode?

Passive mode can be disabled in your network settings, but I have a feeling what you're actually asking for is the ability to upload, and the answer to that is the Finder can't do it. There are some filesystem plugins out there that provide this functionality, but they cost money.

Can i get access to the find command in Word via activeX?

Does anyone know if it is possible to search through a word document using activeX commands from labview? Basically i need to use the "find" command from Word.

I've now got the search function working but im having a little trouble getting the results i want. What do you mean by "new selection"? is this the output refnum from the execute node?
Im looking to search through a word document for a certain paragraph number then highlight this paragraph in some way.
At present i have used your method to find the section number and then used a frame property on the output refnum followed by select method cascaded from this. This has the effect of selecting the number causing the word window to jump to the desired point but only the first line of the paragraph is shown because it places the found text at the bottom of the screen.
Do you have any suggestions as to how i could select the en
tire paragraph? I also cannot get any output from the select method in this way, am i using it incorrectly?

I have another script that uses the power of (/usr/bin/awk and his associative arrays) in a do shell script
17000 rows --> awk : 2 seconds, applescript : 6 seconds, total : 8 seconds
34000 rows --> awk : 3 seconds, applescript : 11 seconds, total : 14 seconds

Using the javac command

I'm trying to create a class with the javac command. I used notepad to write the code and saved the file as .java, but when I try to use the javac command to compile it I'm told that it can't read the file. Not sure what the problem is. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Notepad will try to save any file with .txt as the extension. In the Save As dialog, even if you type factorial.java, Notepad might save the file as factorial.java.txt. If you look at the file in a Windows folder, it might display as factorial.java. To find out if this is your problem, use the DIR command in a DOS console to display the actual file name. If this is the problem you can (1) put double quotes around the file name in the Save As dialog, "factorial.java" or (2) make .java a text file type for your system.

Runtime Environment + Linux + the "find" command

It looks like you doing all correctly. I don't know what does Runtime.exec() do with passed arguments, but if specify command in following way:
String command = "find -name *";
'find' executed through Runtime.exec() behaves as if it was executed from command line with arguments -name "*".

Reducing apps size using the "strip" command

Hello,
I'm trying to create a Terminal script to reduce all my apps size, using the "strip" command.
Therefore, I have to look up into all the .app packages of my hard drive to find all the exec files, and then apply the strip command to them.
The thing is I am a complete newbie, and all I come up with is : (without the ")
"find . -name "exec" -exec strip '{}' \;"
But it doesn't seem to work at all...
I think this is due to the name reference.
-> How do I find Unix executable files (even inside the .app packages) using the "find" command?
-> And how do I correctly apply the "strip" command to them?

Having problems using ion tape express with itunes cannot find the song on hard drive

Having problems using ION tape express with itunes. The song is on hard drive as temp1 not the name of the song. And I have problems playing it in itunes
because it says it cannot locate the song'

Then correct the name of the song or point iTunes to the new file.
Issues with restoring should be directed to the manufacturer of the backup software/device... this is not an Apple or iTunes issue.

I am having a problem using the help menu in Adobe elements 5

I am having a problem using the help menu in Adobe elements number five.
When I open the help menu, the dialogue box defaults to an unreadable display font. Is there any way to change that default font? Using the help menus to find a solution is not possible for I cannot read what it is displaying.

For product, there is an option in preferences where we can set fonts. There are two options: One is application font and other is system font. I am talking about elements 8 which I have but not sure that will solve your problem which is help related.

Can you open the Preview program without loading a file, like by itself?
If it doesn't load then I suspect a corrupt Preview preference file.
Deleting the System Preference or other .plist file
Can you open other files with Preview, like jpg's and images?
How about other PDFs? or is it just that one you have downloaded?
