LR v3.0 Wishlist

1) Move the Keyword List panel back to the left side of the screen, or give us an option to have it display there instead of the right side.
2) Drag panels from one side to the other.
3) Drag panels from one monitor to the other.
4) Display panels in the secondary window (optionally).
5) Open new catalogs without relaunching LR.
6) Open multiple catalogs simultaneously.
7) Web-based catalogs (e.g., at Photoshop Express, Flickr, etc. This is very complicated and might be well beyond the scope of LR, although it is cool).
#8 Include original filename in metadata (seems that this feature disappeared in LR 2?)
9) Play better with Spaces - e.g., at the present time, if LR is not open in the current active space and we click the LR icon in the dock, it doesn't take the focus. It should.

Once again, I'll say that it depends on my intent. Perhaps a specific
example will help. This weekend, I went through the 150 pictures I took at
my daughter's birthday party. I culled them down to the 35 good shots and
did some cropping, basic color correction and sharpening to make them look
good to my eye on my monitor. I then uploaded them to SmugMug (at full 10
megapixel resolution) and told all of my relatives who'd been breathing down
my neck that that were there. They'll go there and view them onscreen,
possibly ordering prints of the ones they like (or downloading and printing
on their own, in some cases).
There are all sorts of variables here that are utterly beyond my control,
and not just related to sharpening - how does SmugMug interpolate from the
full image to the various sizes they provide? What kind of color correction
and sharpening does the SmugMug print service do? What paper do they print
on? What print service or printer do my download-and-print relatives use?
How calibrated are my relatives' monitors? What's the resolution of their
monitors? How good are their eyes? ... the list goes on and on.
What I'm going for here is a good enough sharpening (and color correction,
and so on) to give a good enough base so that when they finally see the
pictures through the lens of all of the variables, they don't say "Rob,
those pictures sucked." And I want it fast enough and easy enough that I
can take those 150 pictures down to 35 good ones very soon after the
birthday party so that the relatives don't say "Rob, you never send us
pictures of the kids."
For all of this, I absolutely positively don't want to go to 1:1 for
*anything* unless I have to. If the picture looks good onscreen at
approximate viewing size, it's good enough for me and for my relatives.
Now, on the other hand, when I worked on the picture I submitted for my
town's Spring Photo Exhibit last year, I wanted much better than "good
enough", and so I was willing to go to 1:1 for sharpening. I also made sure
my monitor was well-calibrated before starting, did paper-specific soft
proofs, and spent several hours in Photoshop tweaking until the picture
looked great. That's an entirely different process serving an entirely
different purpose. (I'll note in passing that Photoshop let me do
sharpening at any resolution, not just 1:1. Obviously the Photoshop folks
don't agree that all sharpening must be done at 1:1 like the Lightroom folks
do. I bet that makes for interesting lunchtime discussion in the Adobe
cafeteria ...)

I completely understand LR's intent. But as I hope my example shows, even
objective-sounding terms such as "reliable" and "accurate" are subjective in
varying degrees in different environments and when applied to different
purposes.
On a slightly unrelated note, I'm curious about your experience with a 480
PPI printer. I'm considering replacing my printer and have been thinking
about what what resolution to look for (among other factors). Various
experiences I've had and some reading I've done suggest that for most cases,
250 PPI is more than enough, so I'm interested in hearing whether the higher
resolution has made a subjective difference to people viewing your prints.
Thanks in advance!

-Ability to check for new mail every minute, not a minimum of 15!
-Option to keep current screen on when phone is locked for a certain amount of time, like a Treo
    -Wallpaper slideshow and video capability
If Apple thinks that they can intentionally leave “key” features out of the iPhone just to make us think that the iPhone2 is a “significant update”, then Apple isn’t the company I thought it was. Make your phone the “best” it can possibly be for the time it comes out. Don’t leave out “standard” smartphone technology that will make people think twice about trashing their Treo or Blackberry. Adding true GPS or upgrading the internal memory is a different story, but things like the inability to copy and paste, the inability to record video, and the inability to use voice dialing should definitely not be issues with iPhone’s release, especially due to the fact that Apple had more than six months to test the thing. I really hope Apple fixes a lot of these “flaws” immediately or else iPhone won’t be as successful and as respected as it could have been.
Just trying to help. Please forward this to the appropriate iPhone Development department.

  • Wishlist for Next Belle Update

I absolutely love my Nokia 701 running Belle! And while it may be the best phone I've ever had, I'd really like to see the improvements listed below as part of a future software update.
    1. Improved Keyboard/Predictive Text
It's hard to type like a speed demon on this keyboard. The reason is predictive text automatically guesses the word you are trying to type - often times incorrectly. You can always turn it off, but that can cause problems as well. It would be a huge help if predictive text works the way it does in other phone OS's. They give you a choice of 4 to 5 words that the word you are typing could possibly be. And you choose which one you want, instead of the phone guessing for you. I find typing to be faster and more accurate when using such a system.
    2. Improved Wifi Stability
Others have mentioned this issue on different Belle handsets, so I'm leaning toward this being a software issue. Wifi reception is poor on my Nokia 701 Belle when compared to my old E71 or N8. Frequent disconnects are the norm, even with powersave disabled.
    3. Wifi Indicator in Status Bar
The current indicator has 2 visual settings - On and Off. It would be helpful if one could see the signal strength right in the status bar, without having to open the notification area and clicking on wifi connections.
    4. Improved E-mail Client
    - With the ability to choose which IMAP folder you want sent mail, junk, trash etc to sync to. Right now when I send mail, it automatically goes into the phone's Sent folder, instead of the Sent folder on the IMAP server. To add to the inconvenience, there is no way to move items in that Sent folder of your phone directly into the proper one on the server. The only workaround I've found is to BCC myself, then move that BCC'ed email into the proper Sent folder on the server. That's way too many steps.
    - Sent mail to show the recipient, instead of just the sender. What good is it to show the sender anyway? I know who is sending the mail...ME
    - The ability to "view" attachments. This isn't the same as downloading and opening attachments. Iphone's, Android's and even Symbian's own Mobile Documents app all have the ability to view an attachment without downloading the complete file. It's quicker and I find it renders the attachment more accurately.
-The ability to have more than one Exchange ActiveSync account for supporting multiple calendars.
    5. Expired Certificate's
Please please please find a solution for this. The workaround of setting the phone back to an older date no longer works. Checking "all" under Software Installation & turning off the online certificate check does nothing to help either.
    6. Calendar Widget
Needs more than just your next upcoming event. At least 3 or more upcoming events would be very helpful.
    7. Profiles Widget
To activate any new profile settings you created, you have to click the widget, then click All Profile Settings, then click the profile you want, then click Activate, then back out of it. That's 5 clicks for something that should only take 2. It would be much easier if the profile you created was in the same list as the four default profiles that come with the phone.

Ok, let's try to keep this thread alive.
Updated my C7-00 to belle over a week ago now, and toying with it I'm now writing my wishlist under this thread also. And will do the same probably to many other threads until I see some "official" thread started by Nokia's employees where they actually want to hear what we would like belle to be. And comment in there.
And here's a free advice to Nokia staff, even I really hate to tell someone how to do they job.
Somebody should take a pen and punch of paper. Browse this forum and whenever see a wish for feature, write it down and mark every support for it. Same as if some feature is wished to be gone. When done, make a list of all the features supported/unsupported in konsensus, and even those that started a debate.
Then, take the list to R&D with instructions to make wanted features happen, to ditch unwanted features and make controversial features optional. Easy as a pie.
    My humble list:
    - Different size widgets. Clock, calendar, email etc.
    - Bookmarks available as a shortcut on homescreen
    - "Mosaic" view for homescreens, so we can go to directly desired homescreen and not have to swipe through all the homescreens between. Minimize all futile work.
    - Automated and adjustable online mode for homescreen widgets. Or atleast manual version which we had in Anna. I could let widgets to keep connections active all the time, or manually put off the mobile data and wifi, but I shouldn't have to do that and I don't want to do that. Because I would have to put them on again for every time I want to surf the net. Having to do that, it only misses the ancient tone of 56k modem dialing tone to make the feel of regression perfect.
    - When I exit email-app, it really closes, and not stay on in the background. I don't need email-app to stay on in the background, 'cause I use the email-widget to check my mail. Now, when entering to any received mail and then moving it to a folder or deleting it throws me back to homescreen and leaves the email-app on. And I have enter it again to shut it off, or close it through open application menu.
Plus every other succestion made by others that would increase my possibilities to modify, customize, adjust and personalize my phone by my needs and desire.
I really like the new smoothness of my phone. Occasional freezes which I had with Anna are practically gone so improvements there. Ability to place shortcuts and widgets more freely on homescreens is a very wellcome feature. Fact that widgets CAN come in many sizes is a big improvement.

  • Where did the iTunes Store Wishlist go?

What happened to the wishlist? It was in the store, a link on the right hand side of the homepage not long ago. You can also still click the button in the down arrow next to the buy button for songs to "Add to Wishlist."

It's in the drop down menu next to your account name in the upper right hand corner.

  • In the Itunes Wishlist there is no price button that you can psuh to buy the items. So I cant buy my whole wishlist without doing it all seperatly and I dont know the total price of all the items. Please help!

Both the button and the total cost appear to have been removed in the current version of iTunes - I don't have them either and other people have posted about it as well. You can try leaving feedback for Apple and maybe they'll be added back in a future update : http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html

  • Wishlist for creator

now i have worked a little bit with creator and can say it's a wonderfull tool but there are still many missed things:
    Wishlist
    Better page/link-management in the navigation-page
    * The navigation-page should be scalable (at the moment we have a scroll-orgy by big webapps)
    * Possibillity to color the page-icons in the nav-view (as optical help, ex for optical "grouping" pages)
    * Other-"controls" should be configurable in the navigation-page/view, too (not only buttons, ex. link-controls and all other input-controls with auto-submit (choiceable: auto-submit with javascript))
    * Support for "external" links (incl. support for request-vars (post/get))
    * Support for INCLUDING (not linking) internal/external links (ex. templates, static-text, html-comments, aso.)
    more html-controls
    * menu-controls (with and without jscript, with poss. to import own graphics as background)
    * tabcard-control (like in your own sun-appsrv-admingui, with poss. to import own graphics as background)
    * tree-control (like in your own sun-appsrv-admingui, with poss. to import own graphics as background/icons)
    * common-dialog-control (with js-support: a real modal dialog | without js-support: showing another html-page with (yes/no/cancel/ok, aso.) buttons | incl. answer-management for yes/no/cancel, aso. | inkl. (and replacable) standard-icons for question/info/warning/error, aso)
    * html-comment-control
    * link/include/template-controls (for including external pages/content in a jsp-page)
    Common for all controls
    * Additional for all control-values a "Bind to locale-resource" (support for multi-language in our own jsp-pages)
    Examples
    * a complete creator-example-project (like the nothwind in asp.net, not only a view example-zip-files)
    * more database-examples (list-navigation <<|<|>|>>, list2detail-records, aso.)
    * the complete help on the creator-website in ONE downloadable zip-file (inkl. all html/pdf-files for offline-working)
    * an example for "binding" a db to a droplist (not only an ex. for filling a list)
    * flash-learn-movies about the work with creator (learn-movies are better for learning than this long and sometimes wrong texts)
    Other
    * Auto-export of a war-file for jakarta/tomcat (ver 4/5, inkl. all required jar-files, aso)
    * Creator-Option for the appserver (sun appsrv or tomcat)
    * Creator inkl. mysql/postgre-jdbc-drivers
    * Creator-Option for the GUI-Optic (sdi-optic should be possible to)
    * Query-Generator with support for pk/fk-links between 2 tables and auto-creating the (inner) joins
    * CVS-support
    Creator-Website
    * Creator-Forum should have more chapters (then it's not necessary to put hints, wishlists and tech-questions in the same forum)
    * A vote-area for the creator-wishlist (then u will see what has the highest priority by your CUSTOMERS)

You might want to give page fragments a try for
things like this - you define the page fragment and
then can use it in multiple pagesbut this is no solution for multiple templates. and there are at the moment no possibillities for importing external designed html-pages/fragments
    then if you
change the page frag, the change will be reflected
    across the pages.this doesn't work.
    1. create a new fragment-page (jspf-file)
    2. create a new fragment-control on a "main" page with the fragment created before as value
    3. rename or move the fragment-page (jspf-file) to another directory
=> the file-property of the include-statement on the main-page will not be updated automatically. this will produce a broken link and an error at runtime.
u have to change the include-property on any master-page by hand to solve this problem. an so it makes no different if i have to update manually the image-url or the fragment-url.
and this is what i mean when i say the creator has at the moment absolut no url/link-management. link-, image-, fragment- or any other resource-url's will not be automatically updated (or checked). but this is on of the most important features by developing html-pages which mostly contains urls.
and by the way. the directory "Resources" can't be renamed. why?! exactly cause the same problem.

This solved my questionRe: iTunes Error (-1202)
    Dec 28, 2012 6:35 PM (in response to crossi85)
I am having the same issue on my iMac.  It occurred after the last iTunes update.  Apple support offered no real solution.  They tried "clearing" my Wish List, but that didn't work, and advised me to re-install iTunes.  However, I tried clicking the "My Wish List" link on the right side of the iTunes Home page, instead of the one I usually use under the "Manage" column near the bottom of the screen - and it worked!  Furthermore, my Wish List was still intact even though they had supposedly cleared it.  So, in my case, the problem appears to be the iTunes site, and not my computer.  My solution: Try accessing the Wish List from a different link within iTunes.

  • N80 new firmware release date and wishlist

It has been no update on firmware since the latest release V.5.0719.0.2 for N80 since 24 May 2007. With so many models rolling out and firmware revision released for other new and old models, one might wonder if N80 is being forgotten and the firmware revision is put on-hold forever in cold storage?!
There has been so much discussion on the expectation for last firmware release but what we get is only product stability without signficant boost of functionality and performance. I believe this has made many proud owner of N80 phone waiting with a long neck.
After reading through the forum, I have summarised some of the common expectation on the next release (hopefully) in a wishlist below. All is welcome to provide input on the improvement they expect in next firmware release. It is also hope that any status of firmware upgrade for N80 news to be shared here.
    The N80 new firmware wishlist
    i) AD2P bluetooth profile support
ii) Nokia Maps application support (currently, N80 is not support model for Nokia Maps application)
iii)Enhanced digital music player (similar with N73 ME with album art browsing)
iv) Music file IDD tag editing (change artist, song title, genre information)
    v) Video ringtone
    vi) Skype VOIP support
vii)Mymobilesite.net intergration for seamless moblogging interface
viii)Auto birthday reminder storing from Contact entry
Thats all I can think of for now.

    Hi Jacob,
Thanks for your quick response but if you go to the download section of Nokia Maps, N80 is not listed for selection on Nokia Maps setup file download. It is obvious that the compability page does show N80 is supported but which setup version to choose? I myself have Nokia Maps installed previously. But I believe there are new feature and interface in the latest version of Nokia Maps.
Yes, mymobilesite.net is available for N80, but perhaps the new firmware can include it in the new firmware release to save other the hassle to install
    something to add:
ix) HSDPA mobile internet surfing speed (3.5G?)

    4. Dynamic Content
    5. Signature Layout
    6. Signature Rule
    Any thoughts are welcome!!

Love the running list! Here's a few more to add:
    - Ability to schedule specific batch sizes/times for emails to go out -- for example, if I have a segment of 1000 people, i want to be able to send to 100 people today at 9am and then the rest tomorrow at 10am without having to create 2 separate segments or create a filter to base a decision rule off of.
    - Decision rules based off of segments -- it's a pain to have to save it as a shared list just to filter.
    - Ability to view all Campaign Members by step, and to search by it. Currently if I want to remove a contact from the Campaign, I have to know exactly what step they're in and manually go in and remove them rather than searching among all Campaign Members.
    - Ability to drag/drop or delete multiple items at once -- if you have a large drip program and then you decide to add in a step at the beginning, you currently have to either live with what becomes a really messy-looking canvas, or you have to take the time to move every element on the canvas individually to make room for the new steps. Related to this: Ability to move the auto-created segments when members are added from either Program Builder or a Form processing step -- currently these all just stack on top of each other so you can't read them.
A lot of these would be covered if we can get full Program Builder functionality added to Campaign Canvas!

  • IPhoto 6.0.2 Wishlist

I know it's not christmas, but here is my wishlist for iPhoto 6.0.2:
    - "Group Keywords"
If you have a lot of keywords you may want to group them, so the list doesn't become too crowded.
    - "Sort Keywords Alphabetically"
Of course we all want to have a "sort keywords alphabetically" option.
    - "Retain Or Delete Original File?"
When applying changes to a photo, iPhoto should ask me if I want to retain the original file or replace it. Not everybody wants to always keep the original files until the day he dies.
    - Slideshow:
I want an option to show keywords or comments when running a slideshow (ok, iPhoto can show titles, but no keywords or comments - why?)
    - "Show Original/Modified File"
Apple, please give us this feature, we are used to it from iTunes.
    - Improved Library Management:
If you want to manage separate libraries on a Mac, you'll have to use tools like iPhoto Buddy or iPhoto Library Manager. If you want to keep separate libraries on two or more Macs, you'll be missing an easy sync tool, too. (You may want to keep one main library on the Mac at home and a second one on the Book when traveling; after returning home, these two libraries should be easily merged, retaining keywords, comments and all other changes.)
Apple really should integrate improved management features for separate libraries into iPhoto itself, as well as a "merge library" or "sync library" function.
    - Video Clip Integration to Slideshows:
If you have taken pix and videoclips of an event, you may want to see them displayed in a slide show right in the order you've taken them. So iPhoto should support video clips right within a slideshow (like Graphic Converter does).
    - Full IPTC support!
iPhotos keywords and comments system is an island.

Another good application for managing multiple libraries is iPhoto Library Manager. The free version is like iPhoto Buddy. The paid version lets you move photos between libraries while maintaining keywords, comments, titles, etc. Currently the only way to do so. Either application is very slick in moving between libraries.

  • N85 bugs/wishlist for future updates!

Hi.... just wanted to post some bugs and wishlist(necessities) for the next firmware upgrade....
    1) Show date and time the message was sent when you read a message in the message screen instead of having to go to details.
    2) Repair/Update the multimedia menu because my video submenu doesn't work and doesn't detect the videos i have(strange because the nokia video player detects and plays it),
would be nice to have a reset/repair/refresh key for the multimedia menu. Multimedia Menu is basically not functioning properly and needs to be updated because otherwise its just a useless key...
    3) Update Realplayer to support 'continue watching movie' from where we stopped it, like in the default nokia video player.
    4) Option to manually add/remove standby screen items like wlan, calendar, search, etc.
    5) Fix restore factory settings because you can't create new profiles after you reset to factory settings....
    6)  Change the Download menu to Ovi store(1 only) because I have two icons, one shows 'Store' and the other 'Ovi' and are the same, don't know why.
    7) Install Nokia Photo Browser as the default photo browser instead of having to use the app separately.
    8) Fix keypad lighting because it gets screwed up sometimes and doesn't light up when i'm messaging.
    9) Improve the volume of the music player. Why is Nokia6151 louder than my mobile >.<!
    10) Free navigation on nokia maps for N85 without any bugs(heard there are some in E55)
    11) That all the above are fulfilled!!!
    Thanks in advance....
P.S. Please guys post your bugs/wishes and help in improving the device firmware.....

Sometimes it doesn't show my other access points except WLAN when i want to use the net or check for updates..... It's very annoying.... Oh and for godsake make smileys built-in instead of having to install the app.(i know there's AnimatedSMS, but its very irritating if u want to reply to a message through the reply option, since there u can't use smileys unless your friend sends a message with smileys )....

  • IPhone wishlist for next update

Hi, anyone knows where to send a wishlist for the next update? :-D
I recently bought an iPhone - I am very happy with my choice, and also the update to 3.0 is very good. But I have 2 things I really wish for.....
    1. Be able to change sms tones without jailbreaking
    2. Hear the sms tone with headset attached - when I get a call the sound goes via iPhone speaker, but when I get a sms the sound goes into my headset?!? Strange behaviour

That is normal behaviour. The things you describe are not really important to most people. Not much chance of Apple doing it. We have the great 3.0 and people are still not happy. If you want those things you described, Get a NOKIA.

  • Wishlist for app store

Not sure if this has been brought up , but at the bottom of the pages of app descriptions where it says tell a friend and gift it, there should also be a button that says add to wishlist. I'm surprised there isn't already as it's a very simple addition. ( maybe not programing wise but conceptually) After a mishap with my account and someone getting my password and buying over 100.00 in useless apps , needless to say I only use iTunes gift cards now. Well when I'm out of credit from a card ... I'll run across a few apps I'd buy IF I had credit . I could add them to a wish list then when I have time to grab a new gift card I'd buy my wish list apps .... But instead there is no wishlist and I forget what apps I had seen a week before . Lets make it happen iTunes team! Haha

click once on the little icon next to the app price, and a pop-down menu will appear which includes "Add to Wishlist".
You can then view the Wishlist you built when you return to the Home page of iTunes.
The downside is that as of iTunes 10.2.34, the Wishlist link is no longer under "Quick Links" on the upper right. This must be a bug... But you can still access it if you scroll down to the bottom of iTunes where the little text menus are... under "Manage" there's a Wishlist link.

  • Ms-8900 and live update not working

In the beginning the live update auto-search would work, but now it it stops running when it gets to "searching for msi utilities" and does nothing.  I have updated to the 3.34 version, no pop-up blockers, etc... any ideas why it's doing this now?
