LR3 does not show source from CF card reader

I am new to LR3 and this is driving me crazy. I do not see the source for pics to import into LR3 from a CF card reader. CF card was formatted in camera prior to exposure. Does it matter if card reader is first plugged into Mac (OS X Lion) before turning Mac on or should Mac be turned on first and then have CF reader connected. I suspect either action is irrelevant as the Mac should recognize the CF reader either way. I have Scott Kelby's LR3 book but it does not cover situations such as the above. Can someone show me a few steps to take? Example such as: go to XX, next click or select XX, etc.
I might add that I also have a PC running on Windows Vista and the CF card reader downloads OK on my screen (LR3 not installed on the PC). I assume that once formatted in camera, card is clean and is accepted by either OS. So I am confused. Any help is appreciated.

I'm having the same problem. I have my main Library on a WXP machine and a new W7 laptop. My iphone 4 sees the library from the W7 machine, but neither the laptop nor the iphone see the big library on the WXP machine. I have configured firewall settings, tried the network wired and wireless, using same apple id on all devices, restarted itunes on all computers, turned sharing off and on on all computers. Nothing works.

LR3 does not find metadata from XMP sidecars that EM2 does

I use Image Ingestor. When I ingest RAW files and view them in LR3 all the metadata applied using Image Ingester II is visible in LR3. When I ingest my older JPEG files II places the metadata into a XMP sidecar in the same folder with the same name as the file. LR3 seems to ignore these XMP files as it does not show ANY of my metadata except that from the JPEG EXIF from the JPEG file itself.
EM2 reads the XMP files and properly handles the metadata.
Googling turns up quite a few people with this issue.
My understanding is that LR3 is supposed to treat the XMP with precedence over the image file metadata but it does not seem to do this. Is there an option to be set?

An update... if I change metadata in EM2 and force it to write it back to the XMP then LR3 can synchronize and suddenly has meta
data for the image.

PLD Report does not show data from Query

Hello,
SAP b1 9.0 PL08 on MSSQL 2008 and I get data on the query, but when the PLD prints, it shows nothing. Is there a way to filter the data that the PLD shows? Does PLD have its own SQL script it uses b/c its not showing data from the query.

Ipad does not show email from only one sender

I have my outlook.com email address setup to come to my Ipad. I have noticed over the roughly year that I have had it that email messages from one particluar sender does not show up on the Ipad. All other emails come thorugh fine it is just this one sender, which I receive email from on a regular basis. Any thoughts on cause or remedy for this? I have added the sender to my contacts list,checked the junk file, deleted and reintalled the email account all with no luck.

If they are not being received by the server, then this is not a Thunderbird problem. So, first you need to determine if your server is receiving the emails.
Logon to your webmail account using a browser, are those emails shown in the webmail account?
Are they in the webmail Inbox folder or another folder - check the spam folder?
Do you use an IMAP or Pop mail account?
If the emails are not in webmail account, then Thunderbird cannot see them.
If the server is not receiving the emails, then check that the sender is actually using your correct email address.

Download list in FF does not show source of download or deleted downloads

I can see a list of downloaded files but no information on the source for the download (from where it was downloaded). I can right click and copy the link, but cant see it unless I actually paste it somehwere.
When I click on the file in the list - nothing happens. That is because the file has been deleted but you cant see this information either. What is that download list good for ?

Manager Tweak is OK but has one big drawback: it is very easy to delete the list and there is no undo command. So it does not solve my problem.

Wizard in a dialog window does not show errormessages from the database

I have a main window and some wizards defined with JHeadstart. The wizards are started as dialogs to get them in a separate windows from the main window. This gives me a cancel and a save button for the dialog in addition to the ones for the wizard.
I have managed to take away the cancel and save button from the dialog using custom .vm files. The problem is that then pressing the FINISH button for the wizard it closes the dialog window without showing errormessages from the database (ie constraint messages) and these only appear in the log. If I use the save button from the dialog it gives the errormessages, but does not exit the dialog even if there are no errormessages.
Is this a bug or is there another way I should have done this ?

Your finish button should call a custom managed bean method that executes the commit, checks whether there are errors, and only close the dialog of there are no errors.
To close the dialog in code, you can use this:
AdfFacesContext adf = AdfFacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
adf.returnFromDialog(null, null);
which is similar to using the <af:returnActionListener/> that you probably now used but should be removed from your finish button.

Photos not showing images from SD card

I have a bunch of photos on my SD card but when I go to Photos, none of them show up. This is using a C7. They show up in the File Manager app but not in the Photos section. How can I get them to show up without copying them from SD card to Mass Memory?

Forgot to add I tried on a Mini 10.7.5 and get same problem...
So not Mountain Lion specific.

Aperture 2.1 does not show edits from Photoshop Elements 6 on a PPC

I am trying the Aperture 2.1 trial - and, so far I like it. However, when I use it with Photoshop Elements 6 as an external editor in Aperture on my iMac G5 PPC it seems to create another copy (as it should) but when I try to save the edited version in Aperture I see two versions of the original - both the same! I do not see the edited version at all. The copy has a round circle in bottom right corner. I have tried for hours with many edits and cannot find them in Aperture.
However, when I do exactly the same edits - on the same photos - using my Intel Macbook Pro it works as it should! I see the original and alongside is the edited version!
Why does this not work the same with my Power PC?
I have tried trashing the .plist preference of Aperture on the PPC but still does not work.
Cab anyone please help? I have a lot of 35mm slides to scan - using the Macbook Pro - and I want to edit using the iMac as the screen is much bigger!

Just for your info I then realised why this had happened. I first used the trial with iPhoto - on the PPC - and I chose in the Preferences 'Save as' rather than Save. I forgot the non destructive nature of the edits and that 'saving over' is not the same as replace! As soon as I changed the preference on the PPC back to the default of save over - it worked as on the Intel Mac. My edit now appears alongside the original (and it has a small circle at bottom right corner)
This is great - I have now ordered Aperture and look forward to testing how to get the best out of using it with PS Elements 6 (which is also very good)

Front row (with itunes 10) does not show moves from shared library

I have two computers. My office computer contains all of my iTunes content, running iTunes 10. I have a mac mini connected to my television, and my intent is to use Front Row to access the shared library from the office computer. The problem is, when using front Row only a small number of my TV shows and none of my movies appear. I have checked the sharing settings on the source computer.

Exact same problem here.
It has been working fine doing this for years, then around a month ago after no changes to either machine that I know of, about half the content vanished when viewing a shared library.
I seem to have also worsened the issue by trashing and rebuilding the iTunes library from scratch. Since at least before doing this I had some of my Movies and TV shows show, but not all, now I seem to have a tiny amount of movies and none of the TV shows listed.
Checking on the source computer in front row shows all of them present as expected. Completely baffled by this. None of them are showing under odd sections (Say in Music rather than TV Shows) either so I know the meta-data isn't at fault.

Sync does not show tabs from other devices

I have two computers running Windows 8.1 and FF 26: at work, and at home. Both are synced, however, every time I want to see tabs on the other computer (History - Tabs from other devices) all I see is a blank tab. Sync settings on both are to sync everything (tabs option checked).
Is this a bug, or is there anything else I need to do to see the remote tabs?

As you can see, there are some potential authentication issues, but I don't understand why would it only affect tabs sync, while bookmarks are fine. Note also that I merged all the stuff to the sync account by Sync - Manage Account - Reset Sync - Merge data from this device browser into your Sync account.

Stops at jsp breakpoints but does not show source

Greetings.
Aren't I supposed to be able to step through a jsp?
This seems simple but I can't seem to get the source to show in the debugger
of the jsp. it does stop if I set a breakpoint before running, but it brings
up a blank page when the breakpoint is hit during a debug session.
is it as simple as figuring out how to set 'keep generated' (if so tell me how
please)

Have you tried deleting iMovie's preference file? (Yourusername->Library->Preference->com.apple.iMovieplist).
If you manually drag the playhead to the end of the movie, do you see any stray clips out there?
Do you have a chapter marker at the end of the movie? (Don't).
Did you use any bookmarks in the movie? Sometimes/somehow those marks can creep in. Look for those little green arrows and if you find some, go 'Markers' in top menu bar and select 'delete bookmarks.'

Content Copier does not backup files from MMC card...

The option to backup files from the MMC card is missing in current PC Suite version 7.1.40.1 (it was available before PC suite was updated in december 2009).

When I open 'new' in Yahoo to write a new mail, the page does not show tabs from bold through to indentation. Can only see font and font size tabs

The only tabs on display are '''font''' and '''font size''' - nothing else. Tabs from bold to indentation are not visible.
Moreover the arrows to go '''up''' and '''down''' on emails are 'invisible' too.

ICloud Photo Library does not show photos from photostream on other devices.

When I choose to use the iCloud photo library (beta) on my iPhone, the only photos that I can see are recent photos I've taken with my phone. If I disable this and only use the photostream, then all my photos are shown on my phone, including photos I took with my camera and uploaded to my Mac. What's the deal? I like being able to access my older photos or photos taken with other devices on my phone without using storage space. Am I able to do this with the iCloud photo library? Is it bc it's still in beta that I can't?

Yeah - I'm sticking with Photostream, and iPhoto right now. Once the new photo app is available across the board, and there is more literature on it, I will look into using the cloud, but I'm happy to keep it on my Mac. With the automatic import of Photostream photos, it really doesn't require a lot of work to keep photos on the Mac, and with a regular backup to TimeMachine, I'm comfortable that it is all backed up and safe....
