LR3 Export Video Slide Show -- DVD

Hi folks...
I'm running Windows7 + Lightroom3.
I'm trying to burn a DVD with a LR slide show. Seems simple. I can create the mp4 files no problem, and view them on the computer no problem.
I try to open the mp4 in either of two Sony programs to get the burning process underway, and the video isn't recognizable. as if the right codec is missing. it does recognize the audio, for what that's worth. btw, the two Sony programs are Sony Vegas 9.0 and DVD Architect Studio 4.5.
Any suggestions for me? Really appreciate any guidance...

Hi,
I seem to have a similar problem with LR3.2 on Win7 (I do not think the OS is to blame). A HD-video will not play from an USB-stick on my Sony Bravia. However, after reconverting the file with VLC media player, using exactly the same format as the original (AVCHD H.264, 1080p), my Bravia plays it without problem. But now, of course the file size is substantially smaller and the quality is degenerated.
Spooky behaviour...
Best regards
Bertil
(My Bravia is updated with the latest software version available on September 8)

  • Low image quality on idvd slide show DVD

Hi, I am trying to create a DVD that will play wildlife images. I have the images (In high ressolution, edited at photoshop CS2) and an audio file (Wildlife sounds)
I went to IDVD, choosed a theme, added an image as the entrance, add a slide show, added the images to the slide show, added the sound to the slide show and exported.
My settings in idvd are set to best quality.
The resulting DVD presents very low quality, saturation has decreased immensly, sharpness is gone. Audio VERY loud.
Is this the best quality iDVD can provide? Shall I use FCP (I wish to avoid it since I will like to make new versions of the cd as long as new images arrive, iDVD, if it provides good quality, will make life much easier.
By the way, I tried exporting a slide show from iPHOTO to iDVD but the resulting quality is extremely poor. I also tried to prepare the slide shows on iMOVIE but the results I get are not good either...
Is there anything I ma doing wrong? Should I change the settings somewhere womehow? or Should I forget about iDVD?
Hope to receive an answer soon. Thanks for your time. Cheers.

Basically, that's an overkill. At this point (pre-HD capable burners) we are limited to the less than 640x480 pixel resolution of the NTSC system (or 768x576 pixel resolution of PAL).
You slide show should look 'fairly good' on a TV set or on your computer monitor viewed at 640x480.
    Sorry.

  • Exporting aperture slide show

Trying unsuccessfully to export a large slide show 435 scanned slides to an external drive at approx 50% I get error message Unable to export Slideshow " A volume could not be found"
    Any suggestions

When you exported your slide show what option did you select, when you view it on your computer what app are you using to view the slide show.  Try importing it into iTunes if you have not done that then try to watch it via Apple TV, Or you can make a DVD or the show in iDVD.

  • Video Slide Show

Can I create a video slide show in lightroom 4 that I can put on dvd and then play on a set top DVD player.

I routinely do large photo-shows and here's my two cents:
Scan the images at two to three times the resolution you're working with in FCP in order to have room for pushes, etc (Ken Burns type effect).
There's no need to adjust the pixel aspect ratio prior to importing into FCP. FCP automatically scales the images to match your sequence settings as soon as you drop them in the Timeline. Scan with an RGB setting or if you're working with images already digitized, converting them to RGB is a must. There's no general need for deinterlacing or the NTSC filter with 99% of the photos I work with. Don't add filters in FCP or Photoshop until you've seen how they look on TV.
After seeing how they look, you may find that some do need tweaking either in Photoshop or FCP. For basic color/brightness correction, I use FCP and for most other tasks, I use Photoshop. Typically I only adjust the specific area of the image that needs it - not the whole image. For example, I sometimes need to reduce contrast in certain areas of the photo to reduce flicker or morie effects (adding a very small amount of blur to the area can help as well), but you should find that images produced by most professional photographers have a very good contrast latitude to begin with.
For output, why not have both DVD and a full resolution QT Movie? That way it can be presented on TV as well as from your computer.

  • How can I get a clearer Movie for my web page when trying to export a slide show in iPhoto.

In iPhoto I am exporting a slide show in the display (size) 1280x800, the original images in the slide show are 600 dpi @ 11" x 8.96". I am using iPhoto 11 Version 9.4.2 on my MacBook Pro OSX version 10.8.2. I am using a wipe transition with a total slide show length of about 17 minutes long with about 96 images. The Display.m4v is 543.8 MB. The slide show is crystal clear when played before downloading to a movie, but once it is in a movie format it is no longer clear. What else can I tell you?

    600 dpi @ 11" x 8.96"
    600 x 11 = 66,000 pixels and you're reducing them to 1280...
What happens if you export without the wipe?

    Hi jerryj69,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
The link below to the iPhoto for iOS manual covers many of these topics.

    Ways to share photos
Using iPhoto on your device, you can share your photos in many ways:
    Send photos to other devices
Beam photos, albums, events, journals, and slideshows (send wirelessly) from your device to another iOS device with iPhoto installed. Beaming shares photos in full resolution.
If you have a device that supports AirDrop, you can send photos wirelessly to other iOS devices that use AirDrop. You can use AirDrop to share photos, albums, events, journals, and slideshows. AirDrop shares photos in full resolution.
If you have an iCloud account and you’ve set up My Photo Stream, photos you save to the Camera Roll are sent to all of your devices.
Use photos in other apps on your device
Send your photos to other apps installed on your device, including iMovie and other iPhoto-supported apps.
Use your photos in any app by saving them to the Camera Roll.
    Send photos to your computer
Import photos directly into iPhoto or Aperture on your computer.
Save photos to your computer using iTunes.
    Share photos on the web
Post photos to your Twitter, Flickr, or Facebook accounts directly from iPhoto. You can add comments when you post photos using iPhoto.
Create a web journal with your photos and publish your journal as a webpage using your iCloud account.
Create a slideshow with your photos and publish your sllideshow as a webpage using your iCloud account.
    Email, display, and print photos
Send an email with your photos.
Share photos using the Messages app on your device.
Present your photos as a slideshow with music and transition effects.
View photos on an external display using an HDMI cable adapter or on a TV using AirPlay and Apple TV.
Print photos from your device to a printer that supports AirPrint. Tap > Print and select a printer.
Create books of your photos and order professionally printed and bound copies of them.
Order professional-quality prints, and have them delivered to an address you specify.
    Cheers,

  • An error occurred while exporting the slide show

This error has been talked about ever since iPhoto 5. It is usually rectified by having a Movies folder in the home directory.
I have iPhoto 6.06 and am trying to export into iMovie 6.03. The exporting process goes through its paces but produces the error at the end. I do have a Movies folder in my home directory; the exporting process does even create a file called .mov in the Movies folder, and if I try to export again with the same file name it claims that the file exists, and do I want to replace it? Yet, Quicktime Player 7.4.5 cannot open it and claims that it is not a movie file. What is going on here? ANy help very appreciated.

    Hi Terence,
thanks for the fast turnaround. I had already trashed the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file several times before. I don't think the problem is with Quicktime, since the error message occurs in iPhoto. I checked Permissions; there were a few problems with Flash, which I corrected, but nothing with iPhoto or Quicktime. I tried exporting the slide show again and got this in the Console Log:
    Permissions repair complete
The privileges have been verified or repaired on the selected volume
    slideshow max texture size 1536
2008-05-26 19:40:32.746 iPhoto[275] Slideshow movie export failed with error code -47."
Unfortunately my MacBook is a work machine and I am not its administrator, so Icannot create a new account. This will have to wait until I get back into Uni this week.
By the way, iDVD imports the slide show correctly, but as far as I know I then cannot add commentary to it. That's why I want to go through iMovie, so that I can record my own voice commentary before it goes into iDVD.
If you have any more ideas let me know. Otherwise I'll see my administrator in the next days and hand the problem to her. I'll let you know th outcome then.

  • Will I be able to up load video slide shows from Elements to Revel?

Please let me know if I will be able to up load video slide shows from Elements to Revel? I currently enjoy photoshop.com because I can share photo albums and video slide shows from Elements with my family. I am worried because I don't see any home page or tool bar on my new Revel account. It's like there's nothing there??   Am  I missing something?
Help !!! Robert [edited out phone number to protect user's privacy] USA Please call me, I can't find any phone number for me to call for customer service.
    Thanks !

Currently, Revel supports jpg files only. We are adding many enhancements so this may change in the future. Reading some of our FAQ's might be helpful for you to get some more information, so I will include some here for you. Only version 11 of elements has connectivity with Revel, but you can upload files from your computer as well.

    You don't.
Slideshows are exported as movies and these are very large files. Email is not an appropriate medium for very large files as they can cause immense issues for the receiver.
Better to share some other way.

  • Export indesign slide show as swf/pdf

    Hello,
I try to export a slide-show containing buttons and flv-movies as pdf and as swf.
    SWF-export:
In the exported swf file when viewed with the Firefox browser (Flash Player 16 installed) the movies disappear when I try to play them. However everything else including the buttons do work fine. The same problem I have with other browsers (Internet Explorer, Opera) as well as the “Standalone Flash Player” and the freely available “SWF Player 2.6”. Only when I play the swf-file with “Adobe Flash Player 11.2 r202” (outside the browser) the movies are streamed when clicked on. However here the movie frame has not the correct size and is moved to the upper left corner.
    PDF-export:
When exporting the same indesign file as PDF and viewed via Adobe Acrobat Pro (Version 10.1.13) the buttons to switch to previous or next page do work fine. Also the movies are streamed when clicked on. However now the buttons to switch to next or previous status of multistate objects do not work.
    System specifications: Indesign CS6, 64bit, Windows 7
    Thank you for any suggestion,
    Finn

  • Exporting a Slide Show for YouTube

I've exported a slide via QUICKTIME. It looks fine when I play it but after I upload it to YouTube, some of the still images are scrambled. The still photos are completely damaged. It's hard to describe but the images not recoginizable at all. They consist of scrambled glitches, if that makes sense.
What is best codec, format, etc for exporting a slide show, and for you youtube.
the YT site was not very helpful.
    thanks
    Scott

I'd first export a self-contained movie (File->Export->QuickTime Movie) and see if that plays OK in QuickTime Player.  If it does, then convert it to H.264 for uploading to youtube.
If it doesn't play OK in QuickTime, post the Sequence settings you're using in FCE for that project.

  • I made a slide show with music and random transitions in iPhoto.  I can't burn it to a DVD.  The burn button in iPhoto is not highlighted, and when I exported the slide show to iDVD, it lost the random transistions, and the disk won't play in DVD player.

Two problems:  1. My iphoto slide show loses its random transitions when I export it to iDVD.
    2. When I then burn it to a disk, the disk will not play in a DVD player, but only on my MAC.
    Any ideas?

The random transitions can only be random when played in iPhoto.
If you are in the slideshow mode and use the Share ➙ iDVD menu option a quictime movie will be created of the slideshow with the first random set of transitions and imported into iDVD.  The transitions, however,  will be fixed permanently and will not be changed again.
There is no way to get any sort of random behavior in an iDVD.  When it's burned to disk it's locked permanently.

  • How to burn a slide show DVD in Elements 11?  Can only find how to burn a Video CD, which doesn't help.

I'm trying to burn a DVD slide show in Elements 11, but can find only how to burn a Video CD.  Is burning a DVD possible in 11?

Do you know if it is Vista Home Premium?
If yes or if you are not sure, look for Windows DVD Maker,
On my Vista Home Premium laptop whe I click on "All Pprograms", within the list of programs I see "Windows DVD Maker" listed as a program.
If you have this program then my suggestion is to use the PSE slide show editor to Output a file to your hard disk
    (use the
-- the "Save to a File"  instead of the "Burn to a Disc"
    and
-- the "Movie File - .wmv"
    and for slide size choose:
    DVD-NTSC if in USA
or DVD-PAL if in Europe or other PAL TV country
Save the wmv file in a hard drive folder where it will be convenient for you to reference for later use in the Windows DVD Maker program.
Once this wmv file has been successfully created, you can play it back with Windows Media Player to verify that you like its contents.
Your next step will be to use the Windows DVD Maker program to write the formats of movie files required for the TV DVD player playback to the DVD disc. I recommend closing Photoshop Elements and then open Windows DVD Maker from the Windows Start menu list.
Windows DVD Maker is a "follow the instructions on the screen" program.
However, one point of confusion is how to add the PSE created slide show to DVD Maker program.
The answer is that you use that .wmv file (from the PSE slide show editor) -- it is now in a video format and is a "video". So you can follow the onscreen directions to add video to DVD Maker.
Note 1: I recommended closing PSE before starting the Windows DVD Maker in order to conserve your PC system resources. It is probably not absolutely necessary.
Note 2: You could also produce the DVD for TV playback by adding Adobe Premiere Elements to your computer.  However just for the purpose of making the DVD from your slideshow I anticipate that using Windows DVD Maker will be simpler and faster.
Note 3: I recommend using a DVD-R disc. What brand of discs do you have?
