What if I'm one of those disorganized folks who made the mistake of having the same images in multiple catalogs, some with and some without edits? How would I fix that mess?

In this episode of The Complete Picture, Julieanne Kost shows you how to use 2 monitors to take advantage of Lightroom's dual monitor solution.
http://adobe.ly/AjnR8PThis was helpful, Julieanne, however, I have one more question on custom sort order. I am trying to sort a Collection that is made up of photos from several different import files. It's a vacation collection where I have created a different file for each day of the vacation as well as by who took the photos. So i have a file for my daughter's shots, my shots, my son's, etc, to keep things organized. Now that i have selected the "best of" from each original import file, I have created a new User Collection where I am putting them all together. The problem is, my entire Collection won't sort. I want to sort them all by capture time, but LR keeps grouping them by the original file source, and only sorting by capture time within each group. Can you help?

Exporting Images from Lightroom 4 | The Complete Picture with Julieanne Kost | Adobe TV
In this Episode of The Complete Picture, Julieanne demonstrates the advantage of setting up presets in Lightroom to simultaneously export images to multiple file types, sizes, compression settings etc. You might find even find this method more powerful than Photoshop’s Image Processor!
http://adobe.ly/QQ1iKxHi Julieanne, currently I do have several Export Presets set up so that a specific image can be exported in various sizes, I believe I have 4-5 presets.
Question:
I would like now to select an image and have "all my various image size presets" run at once without me having to select each of the presets, the method I currently use.
Is that possible?

In this episode of the Complete Picture, Julieanne Kost helps you decide which application is right for your workflow by explaining the differences between Lightroom and Bridge for managing images and assets.
http://adobe.ly/zi93CtLightroom 4 supports Soft Proof capability that also lets you see an accurate histogram for different output RGB spaces. Lightroom 5 now also supports under 'Edit In' > 'Open As Smart Object in Photoshop.'
I agree the tutorial was excellent, thank you very much. I would just like to add that there is no reason why you can't use both Lightroom and Adobe Bridge for"digtal asset management." Keyword metadata added in LR can be written to the file or XMP sidecar using CTRL+S keys that will appear in Adobe Bridge and vice-versa. I do most of my InDesign layout image processing using LR, but keep track of ALL my project assests using Bridge. Keywords are added using BOTH applications with no issues to date. -
In this episode of The Complete Picture, Julieanne demonstrates how to use Hue, Saturation, Luminance and the Adjustment Brush to selectively control color in Lighrroom Note: although this video was recorded in Lightroom, the same techniques are available in Adobe Camera Raw in Photoshop CS6.
http://adobe.ly/YarzUCJulianne, I have photoshop CS5. It will not open my camera raw pictures from my new Nikon D5200 (2013) raw pictures. I? I love that you di am being told to upgrade to CS6. Do I have to? Scott Kelby suggest converting the files to DNG, but will that give full use of CS5 tools. And then I have to convert each picture at a time. Also should I get Lightroom? Isn't it enough to have CS5 which cost me tons of money.

In this episode of The Complete Picture, discover the power of making selective adjustments like dodging and burning, color corrections and noise removal using the Graduated Filter and Adjustment Brush in Lightroom 4. Note: although this video was recorded in Lightroom, the same techniques are available in Adobe Camera Raw in Photoshop CS6.

In this episode, Julieanne Kost will explain how changes made to photographs are saved automatically to the Lightroom Catalog. Then Julieanne will demonstrate how to use both the “Save Metadata to Files” command as well as the “Automatically write changes to XMP” Catalog Setting to push changes made to photographs from the catalog into individual files (or sidecar files) so that they can be read and utilized within additional applications such as Adobe Bridge.
http://adobe.ly/x0ry8VThis is great; I was just discussing the other day about what data gets saved with what file formats and how it actually gets saved. My only confusion now is in the example given: If you're a Lightroom user (as I am) why would you ever use Bridge? Is there anything Bridge does that LR doesn't?

In this video tutorial Julieanne explains one of the great mysteries of Lightroom and Bridge – why Lightroom (or Bridge) displays a photograph one way and then changes the way it looks a moment later. It will all become clear with just a little information about how digital camera files are captured and displayed by different applications.
http://adobe.ly/LiGnOcThis tutorial was outstanding in explaining why Bridge and LR may have different renditions of the same photograph as well as why it changes after a few seconds. This camera calibration video is one of the best that I have seen.

In this Episode of the Complete Picture Julieanne Kost explains two different methods for selectively colorizing an image to differentiate the subject from the background using Adobe Camera Raw.
http://adobe.ly/ACTq9XHello--When I use my adjustment brush with saturation set to -100, it is not taking out all the color from my photos. Instead it adds a red hue. Please advise as I would like to be able to selectively color my photos.

How to import complete catalog into another existing catalog
Hi,
Lightroom 2.2
Win XP SP2
3GB RAM
I have LR 2.2 installed with about 10000 images on my computer at home. I've been on holiday at my parents' and have downloaded & installed an evaluation version of LR 2.2 on their computer on which I created a new catalog. In the meantime I've imported and processed about 350 images on their computer.
Before going home I'd like to export the catalog with all photos, metadata, keywords, etc. onto a jump drive. Then, when I get home, I'd like to import all of these images & data into my existing catalog.
I've researched this a bit, and it seems to be a straight-forward operation if only the images and a certain subset of the metadata is to be imported. However, I'd like _everything_ to be imported. Anybody have experience doing this?
Thanks,
JensThis will work perfectly. Just select all the images you want to transfer and under the file menu, select export as catalog. Be sure to check the option to export the negative files. I'd export this catalog onto the computer its on, and then copy the exported catalog to your jump drive - depending on the size of your originals and preview, the catalog might be quite large.
When you get home, I'd transfer the catalog from your jump drive onto your computer. Then start LR and under the File menu select import from catalog. It will ask where you want to put the negative (original) files, and then it will import them without a hitch. I've done this several times with never a problam. -

http://adobe.ly/woWxHVWhen updating my jpeg file with metadata from Lightroom, does this in any way degrade the image in the jpeg file. I understood that any changes to a jpeg will result in loss of image data and a corresponding degradation of the image.

How to insert into 2 tables from the same page (with one button link)
Hi,
I have the following 2 tables....
Employees
emp_id number not null
name varchar2(30) not null
email varchar2(50)
hire_date date
dept_id number
PK = emp_id
FK = dept_id
Notes
note_id number not null
added_on date not null
added_by varchar2(30) not null
note varchar2(4000)
emp_id number not null
PK = note_id
FK = emp_id
I want to do an insert into both tables via the application and also via the same page (with one button link). I have made a form to add an employee with an add button - adding an employee is no problem.
Now, on the same page, I have added a html text area in another region, where the user can write a note. But how do I get the note to insert into the Notes table when the user clicks the add button?
In other words, when the user clicks 'add', the employee information should be inserted into the Employees table and the note should be inserted into the Notes table.
How do I go about doing this?
Thanks.Hi,
