LR3 trial version fully functional with LR2 Catalogs ?

Hi,
I wanted to know if the LR3 trial version was fully compatible with LR2 Catalogs. I just purchased LR2 on May 19th and am eligible for a free upgrade to LR3 but customer support cant just give me a key they have to mail me a boxed product. Until i get the box with the serial number i was wondering if i could download the trial and have it work with my LR2 catalogs, as i know the beta versions would not do so. If anybody has tried this can you let me know. Thanks.
Ed

you can download the whole version also (no box needed). The trial is
the normal full version and will convert the LR2 catalog. After reception of the boxed version and key youo will be able to enter the key and keep on using the old catalog.

  • I work trial version / fully functional?

I am using the i work 30 day free trial.
    Is this fully functional?
It doesn't seem to be as easy or smooth to use as I thought it would be.
I am trying to place images on my page, but I can't freely place them where I want to.
Unlock doesn't seem to be an option.

    Hello, Steve. Welcome to Discussions.
When you insert an image or a text box it will be set as Moves With Text unless you first click in the gray area outside your margins. (It helps to have Layout showing.) You can change it back and forth between Moves With Text and Fixed on Page in the Wrap Inspector. When it's set to Fixed on Page, "Wrap" is set by default. This is to allow text to flow around the object. Sometimes you will want to deselct it.
In learning Pages, just one word of advice; Patience. It sometimes behaves differently from what you expect.
    Good luck,
    Walt

  • I started a trial of creative cloud and downloaded lightroom. I decided to buy lightroom on amazon because I liked it. Now when I try to license the trial version of lightroom with the serial number, it says it's invalid. Why?

I started a trial of creative cloud and downloaded lightroom. I decided to buy lightroom on amazon because I liked it. Now when I try to license the trial version of lightroom with the serial number, it says it's invalid. Why?

The standalone version and the CC version are both the same exact program, but the licensing is completely different. It will be necessary for you to uninstall the creative cloud trial version and then install the one you purchased from Amazon. After you install, you will be able to open the same catalog and continue from where you were.

  • LR3 trial version

I downloaded the LR3 trial version and I cannot get into the program.  When I click on the icon on my desktop, it brings me to a screen that says to select a recent catalog to open, but there are no catalogs listed.  At the bottom of the screen, it says "Note:  LR catalogs cannot be on a network volumes or in read-only folders".  Then it tells me to 1.  Chose a different catalog, or 2. Create a new catalog.  Can someone tell me what I should do? I have NO idea.....not very computer savvy!

It's asking you to convert your Lightroom 1 or Lightroom 2 catalogue, but since you don't have either of those, just create a new one.
After you get the program running, it would make sense for you to read the help file and to google the web for Lightroom tutorials. Also, the main LR Forum page has a pointer to the Lightroom FAQ. Reading that would also help.

  • HP Photosmart 8150 or 8050 fully functional with Windows 7?

I just purchased a used 8150 Photosmart printer due to failure of feeder mechanism on another older Photosmart printer. Lost my PC, monitor and scanner to a lightning strike the following day.  A computer technician tells me my 8150 can't print photos at all from my new PC with Windows 7 as I can no longer download the necessary Photosmart Essential software from HP.  Is this correct or is it still fully functional?
On the other hand, would it be easier to buy a newer Photosmart printer?  Is an 8050 Photosmart fully functional with Windows 7?  It looks to have a driver download and so forth, but I want to make sure before I go out and buy yet another printer that isn't fully functional.  I loved the Photosmart Essential software that came with the 8150 and 8050, and would like to continue printing photos using similar software.

    Hi,
It's correct in one way: Photosmart Essential software has been replaced with a new software called HP Proto creations. You can download from the following link:
       http://www.hp.com/global/us/en/consumer/digital_photography/free/software/photo-creations.html
And Yes, no more driver support for the old 8150 from the Vista ages or at least 5 years now. Buying new printer would be the way to go if you wish to get better photo prints otherwise just waisting inks (very expensive) and papers.
    Regards.

  • Can Itouch be charged and fully functional with Pioneer AVIC-Z3 auto stereo

I am considering getting the Pioneer AVIC-Z3 navigation/stereo Head in my car. I am told that the Pioneer unit will not charge an Itouch that has higher than version 1.15 because of charging voltages/pin changes. I was also told that a Scosche Passport will not solve this problem with the Pioneer systems.
1- Pioneer reps told me that if my Itouch has version 1.15 it will charge and have full functionality with the Pioneer Z3 as that was when the Z3 was designed for. My Itouch has version 2.2 I believe. Can I "downdate" to version 1.15 and how?
Anyone have any experience and advice with this matter. This may be a deal breaker.
    Thank you.
    Don

Pioneer reps told me that if my Itouch has version 1.15
It's NOT the software version you are running that counts! First generation touches support both FireWire and USB charging; Second generation touches charge only with USB.
The allowable FireWire voltage range is something like 8 volts to 36 volts so auto charger manufactures didn't have to do anything to use the 12 volts a car has.
Second generation touch charging support requires the manufacturers add a regulated power supply to furnish the USB 5.0 volts.

  • Indesign CC, Trial version.  Problem with type loading EPUB3 ebook onto Apple's ibooks

Hello.  Using the trial version of Indesign CC, my wife has created an EPUB3 picture ebook.  But on trying to load the ebook onto Apple's ibooks, the type is absent.  Could this be because it is only the trial version of Indesign and that once she has the full version this should work?  Are the Adobe trial versions different from the full versions?  Thanks for your help.  Jonathan.

There is zero difference between the trial and paid version.
We’ll need more details to help.

  • Trial version same feature with the purchase one?

is the trial version of indesign has the same feature of the purchase software?

No. The only difference is the time limitation. It's either a configuration problem, bad prefs (see Replace Your Preferences) or the feature you want isn't in the version you've downloaded.

  • Is the apple tv remote app fully functional with the iPhone 3gs?

I am thinking of getting the Apple TV so that I can stream things from my macbook pro via airplay but wanted to make sure the app on the iPhone 3gs would allow me to control it.  However, I could not find an answer to this question anywhere.  Anyone know if it will work fine?  Thanks!

The remote app allows you to pick what media you want to play, pause, fast forward, rewind, etc. I is a remote that provides a wonderful interface to do all things related to "traditional remote control functions".
Mirroring is a function of apple TV using airplay mirroring, not a function of the remote.  An apple tv will be able to mirror an Mac's display with eligible macs running Mountain Lion.
The remote app and "mirroring" are seperate things.

  • Trial Version - Any limitations?

    Hi, All,
Does anyone know - is the trial version fully functioning or does it have limitations?  I'd like to get started on some projects while obtaining permission to purchase the software, but don't want to start the project in the trial if there are limitations that might prohibit me from editing it in the full version once I purchase it.
    Thanks for your help!
    Barbie

The only limitation is it only works for 30 days unless you apply a license key. So you should be good to start working on projects.

  • Is the trial version not fully functional?

    Hi,
I'm testing PE8 trial - also I'm a complete newbie for video editing and PE8. I assume I export my project to end up with a finished video but PE8 doesn't let me export. It's all grayed out. Is it because it's a trial copy?
    Thanks,
    Sam

    Sam,
The trial is fully functional. The ONLY limitation is that the Exported/Shared output will have a watermark banner on it.
Now, the old Export functions (well, most of them) are now grouped under Share. That is why I had to change things to "Export/Share," as it depends on one's version number.
You will find many "export" Presets under the Share tab. Why Adobe even chose "Share" is a mystery to me, but then they did not ask...
Good luck, and do not forget that watermark.

  • LR3 can't import LR2 Catalog

I'm in my second hour with Adobe support - the first was on hold, the second is with a tech who knows nothing about Lightroom and I'm getting really frustrated.
I installed a licensed version of LR3 yesterday, attempted to open my LR2 catalog, was asked if I wanted to upgrade it to which I responded yes, LR3 chugs on it for a couple of minutes then gives me an error saying that it was unable to import it.
Thinking I have issues with my original LR2 catalog I created a new one (in LR2) and exported all my original images to the new catalog.  I tried to upgrade that one and am still getting the error.
The tech from Adobe is recommending just doing an import/image into a new catalog in LR3, however, all my meta-data is a little bit important to me.
I've not seen any posts of others having this issue, so I'm assuming it's something on my end.  Does anyone have any ideas on what I should be trying???
    HEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPP!!!

    Melissa,
I'm hoping you or one of your other smart technicians could take a look at my similar catalog import problem with LR3 on this post here:

Many thanks, I'm feeling a bit desperate, whereas I have a lot of photos organized and don't want to lose that,

  • Installing full LR3 after Trial Version; need to uninstall first?

I'm currently running LR3 Trial version on my Mac but I decided to buy the full version.  Do I need to uninstall the trial version before installing the full version?
    Thanks.

All you need to do is enter the serial number into the trial version.  In fact if you purchased a boxed set with a CD, do not bother to load LR3 from the CD as it will most likely not be the most current version (3.7)

  • TRIAL VERSION DOWNLOAD

Synching 1/2 hour of audio to 100 powerpoint slides was a
disaster in the trial version I downloaded. Audio went on its own
to the rear of the Audacity file and the ppt would lose a slide
from time to time. We bought 2 licenses and those were being used
by developers on 2 laptops - but to get more production out we put
2 people on trial versions. We now think trial versions are
corrupted. Has anyone else found this to be true? Was it the sheer
size of the project too large for the trial version - or for
Captivate for that matter? Is there a size limitation to Captivate
that we whould know about? Any clues are
    appreciated!!!!!!!!!

    Hi again
Many software products are issued updates after initial
release. However, in the case of Captivate, the trial is fully
functional and you aren't hindered whatsoever other than the time
you have to use it before you are expected to buy a license.
I think your use of the term "valid end product" is a bit
subjective here. Here's why I say that. Anything you create with
the trial version isn't really a "valid end product". It should
function without issue, but it should not be distributed and used.
I believe there is a time limit where even if you never purchased
the license, you wouldn't be able to view the output as the date
    would be expired.
But other than that it should be functional.
    Cheers... Rick
