http://blogs.adobe.com/lightroomjournal/2013/02/lightroom-4-4-release-candidate-now-availa bile.html

screw it.. i dunno... bad drivers, that's what i'm accounting it to. Nobody seems to know what the problem is anymore.
With that said, the card works wonderfully now =D
Someone on this board mentioned some third party drivers, so I went and found them. I had no troubles installing and have had no troubles with the drivers
since their installation a few days ago.
These drivers are not supported nor created by Creative (as far as I know). Use the drivers at your own risk.
First, go to this address and read up on their drivers and how to install and what not. All the posts you should care about are sticked, so read the stickies!
http://www.youp-pax.org/forumdisplay.php?fid=3&page=
I noticed that the links to their drivers are lousy/don't work. Some nice person went and hosted all their files on a different site.
http://hosted.filefront.com/robertmc84
Be very cautious when downloading their drivers from filefront. The host has numerous old versions up and the file names aren't always 00% copy/paste from
the YouP Pax site, so be certain you have the right file before downloading/installing.
READ THE STICKIED INSTALLATION GUIDE! Same thing as with the installing Creatives' drivers, if you don't completely uninstall former drivers, bad things happen.

  • Extensibility Pack 3.7 Now Available, including new and improved Where Used Tools

We are pleased to announce the general availability of Agile PLM for Process Extensibility Pack (EP) 3.7 as of January 14th.  This feature pack includes the following important enhancements:
Reporting Pack:  We introduce a series of BI Publisher based reports focused on providing visibility to information throughout the product hierarchy.  The reports are…
Where Used – Parents lists all parent specifications where a given specification is associated. Quickly see how many hierarchies are affected by a single raw material. This report respects all application security, so if a user doesn’t have read access to a specification they will not see that specification listed.  Also the report can be run from the hierarchy navigator making the report easy to access.
Where Used – Parents and Children lists all parents and their children where a given specification is associated. For performance reasons this report does not respect GSM security and therefore is considered an administration report and should be made available to a small group of trusted users.
Supporting Document Review report allows you to quickly see all supporting documents within a specification hierarchy including supplier documents stored in SCRM. For example, when you are on a given finished good you can quickly review all SCRM supplier documents found on associated specifications or objects without leaving the trade specification.
Supplier Review report allows a user to quickly see all suppliers involved within a specification hierarchy. You can quickly see all of the suppliers involved, their status, when their next scheduled audit date is and quality issues reported against them.
Open Issues By Hierarchy report allows a user to quickly see all outstanding and historical PQM issues associated with a specification hierarchy.
Extensibility Pack:  Extensible enhancements provide technical tools to aid in the creation of custom solutions or integrations.  In this release we introduce…
Attachments Web Service provides operations to get attachment files and rich text values of GSM specifications, and SCRM companies, facilities, and sourcing approvals.  The following operations are supported by the AttachmentService:
    GetAttachment
    GetAttachmentJson
    GetRichText
    GetRichTextJson

Hi everyone from the Build 2015 conference happening right now in San Francisco! If you haven’t already, check out Terry’s blog post about all the Windows 10 announcements we made today. If you’re at Build this week or at Ignite in Chicago next week – keep your eye out for me and say hello!
Today we have a new build available to both the Fast and Slow ring for Windows Insiders (that means we’ll have ISOs available too for those of you who like a clean install.) With this build we continue to evolve the features and design for Windows 10, and you’ll see a lot of subtle changes and improvements, many of which were influenced directly by Windows Insiders. One of those changes is the reintroduction of some Aero Glass elements in the UI, but there are many more things throughout the product as well. We continue to use your feedback directly day to day in how our feature teams operate, and we hope that Windows 10 will be the best version of Windows yet because you had a direct hand in its creation.
One other subtle change that you’ll notice is that we’ve changed how we talk about the builds from “Technical Preview” to “Insider Preview” to reflect the importance of the Windows Insider community in how we’re building Windows 10.
And speaking of Windows Insiders, we were super excited to host the 10 winners of our Windows Insiders to Campus contest in Redmond last week and hear their thoughts on the program and the product. We’ll share more on that soon.
Here is what’s newSome of the things that Joe demoed on stage earlier today during the Build keynote are not yet included in this build and will be in future builds. But we still have a bunch of new stuff for you to check out!
General UX improvements: We made a bunch of UX improvements with the last build and you’ll see even more in this build. For example, you’ll notice a new Live Tile animation for Start in addition to in addition to some performance and stability improvements for Live Tiles.
We’ve done work to better support high DPI displays. And we know many Windows Insiders are running multi-mon setups – often with 2 monitors with different DPI. You will start to see some work we’re doing to make sure core UX components in Windows scale correctly on both your monitors so things look nice regardless of DPI.
We’ve also heard loud in clear that many Windows Insiders want to see Aero Glass from Windows 7 make a comeback. We’ve been working out how to satisfy this request, and are trying some things out with this build to see how you like them. We’re running a little A/B test with this build. 50% of you will normal transparency on the Start menu and taskbar while the other 50% will see a blur effect on the Start menu and taskbar (like frosted glass). If Windows Insiders really like the blur effect, we will add it to more areas and even consider making it the default instead of standard transparency. Which one did you get? Send us feedback about it via the Windows Feedback app!
Even more improvements to Continuum: We’re continuing to make Continuum better and invest in a simplified taskbar. Additionally when you close an application in Tablet mode, we take you back to the Start screen instead of the desktop as you would expect when using a tablet. You will see general polish on snapping, and the shared divider between two snapped windows now let’s you adjust the size.
Multi-tasking improvements: We’re continuing to refine and complete our mulit-tasking experience with Windows 10. Check out Alt-Tab, Task-View, and Snap Assist. Snap Assist also now supports the ability to close a window during Snap Assist.
New default Windows sounds: We’ve heard a lot of feedback from people that they want some fresh system sounds for Windows 10. Check them out and let us know what you think.
Visual refresh for Cortana: You will see a visual refresh for Cortana in this build that makes the experience feel more ingrained into the overall Windows experience. Start and Cortana are now more tightly integrated. As you start to search for an app from within Start, Cortana can seamlessly take over and bring back the right result. The new Windows split view control has been added to Cortana’s left rail, offering quick access to key Cortana functionality like the Notebook, Reminders or Feedback on how Cortana’s doing. This split view control helps anchor Cortana to the rest of the Windows UI and provides navigation consistent with many other Windows first party applications.
New experiences in Cortana: We are making available some new and updated experiences in Cortana powered by Bing Instant Answers. Cortana will aim to answer your question while you’re still typing. Here are a few questions you can try:
    Weather – “Seattle Weather”
    Finance – “MSFT stock”
    Dictionary – “define astounding”
    Calculator – “48*92”
    Flight Status – “UA 238”
Reference – “how tall is brad pitt”
    Showtimes – “movies near me”
Tech Help – “memory in my computer”
Time Zone – “time in London”
Unit Conversion – “42 ft in meters”
Chit Chat – “tell me a joke”
Updates for the Music and Video Preview apps: We’ve also shipped updates to these apps. The Music Preview app (3.6.999.0) has some UX improvements including a more immersive Now Playing experience with a true full screen mode. With the Video Preview app (3.6.999.0) – you can download movies, TV shows, and TV seasons and check progress, pause, resume, cancel the download. You can also download, delete, and even re-download videos as many times as you want on up to three devices (we’re planning to increase the number of devices you can download content too!). Closed captioning for purchased content now appears. You will see a list of new features when you first launch these app after each update!
Xbox app April 2015 update: The Xbox app for Windows 10 has been updated (your version number should be 4.4.9014.0 or higher) with new features like Game DVR for PC games, screenshots, a Live Tile, user profiles, and real-name sharing. Oh and the drivers for Xbox controllers are now included with Windows 10, so you no longer have to download and install controller drivers on Windows 10. For more on this month’s Xbox app for Windows 10 update as well as the new Avatars app – read this blog post.
Windows Store Beta improvements: We’re excited about delivering a single unified Store experience in Windows 10 which we’re talking more about this week at Build. We’ve made some improvements to the Store Beta which is now a blue tile instead of grey. Xbox Live games should be working and so are in-app purchases. Apps you purchased on a PC running Windows 8.1 will now show up in the Store Beta on Windows 10 as owned (and vice-versa). We’re also expanding the Store Beta from 41 markets with the addition of these new markets: Afghanistan, Åland Islands, Albania, Algeria, American Samoa, Andorra, Angola, Anguilla, Antarctica, Antigua and Barbuda, Armenia, Aruba, Azerbaijan, The Bahamas, Bangladesh, Barbados, Belize, Benin, Bermuda, Bahrain, Bhutan, Bolivia, Bonaire, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Botswana, Bouvet Island, Cyprus, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Georgia, Ghana, Guatemala, Iceland, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Malta, Pakistan, Qatar, Sri Lanka, Jordan, Lebanon, Nicaragua, Oman, Panama, Puerto Rico, Paraguay, Trinidad and Tobago, Uganda, Venezuela.
Discovering features and apps in Windows 10: We are investing in easy “bite-sized” learning and discovery experiences so that users can get more out of Windows 10. This ranges from tips and tricks on the Lock screen, to helping users discover high quality apps through Start, the Lock screen and Cortana. Be confident that you won’t miss out on new features and enjoy the ease of having high quality apps curated for you. It’s optional, and if anything doesn’t strike your fancy, you can provide feedback directly, such as whether you like an image or an app. These new experiences will be rolling out over time, so you may not see them in your market yet.
Here are some things we fixed
You can now launch Win32 (desktop) apps from the Start menu again. Sorry about this bug!
You should be able to download music in the Xbox Music and Music Preview apps.
When you minimize an app playing audio, it should continue playing in the background.
    Here are some known issues
Developers cannot enable Developer Mode in the Settings app for installing and testing apps on this build. We’ll enable this in an upcoming build. In the meantime, you will need enable your device for development using the Group Policy Editor.
There is an issue in this build preventing some games from playing in full screen mode. We’re working to get a fix out via WU as soon as possible.
The People app continues to crash. We’re planning to release an update for the People app through the Store Beta that fixes this.
We hope you’ll agree that 10074 has some nice improvements and is another step forward towards delivering a great Windows 10 release. Please put it through the paces and keep sending us feedback on the things that you like and the things you want us to keep working on using the Windows Feedback app. I hope that you’ll also download the development tools released at Build and will build some terrific Universal Windows apps as well!
    Thanks,

  • New FaunOS Live Arch-Based DVD/USB Distro Now Available

    Hello fellow archers,
We have just released the latest version of FaunOS. Since this version of FaunOS is the answer to the most important question in the universe, we have named it "fortytwo."
FaunOS-fortytwo contains many improvements over previous releases and more packages (575 total). Improvements, in no particular order, include:
    - Improved wireless support, both wlassistant and knetworkmanager are now included.
    - Improved automatic X configuration with 3D acceleration.
    - Better boot splash support. We have moved to fbsplash which seems to work pretty consistently and has lead to a faster boot time.
    - A new boot option for quickly booting into a console-based system with no X windows.
    - A new boot option for machines that hang when booting from DVDs using piix modules.
    - Ability to save FaunOS session back to a multi-session DVD-+R or DVD-+RW.
    - Permanent Arch Linux Installer using archin.
    - Permanent FaunOS Installer for creating additional FaunOS USB drives from within FaunOS and for performing a "frugal" install to hard drive. Frugal install (not to be confused with Frugal Linux) installs the compressed FaunOS files to a hard drive permanently leading to an "unbreakable desktop" meaning the end user can totally ruin everything at runtime. To revert back to the starting point all the user has to do is reboot the machine and everything goes back to normal since all changes happen in ram, unless the FaunOS session is saved at boot time.
    - FaunOS is probably the only live distro that can perform two kinds of installations.
    - New added packages include: wlassitant, madwifi, firmware packages for ipw2100 and ipw2200, ndiswrapper, lynx for text-based web browsing, and kmobiletools accessing phone books and other information on mobile phones.
    - All packages have been upgraded to the latest from the Arch repos as of today, 8/27/2007.
    - And, most importantly, a new logo.
We have also decided to stay away from the evil 2.6.22 kernel which seems to have created more bugs and headaches than introducing new features, no flame war intended. The latest 2.6.21-faunos kernel is based on the stock arch kernel with the addition of the fbsplash patch from genpatches.
There are those people that may think FaunOS is bloated, but we like to think that it is a muscular and strong live Linux distribution, thanks to Arch. Of course keeping with Arch's KISS principal, we have tried to make FaunOS simple and easy enough for anyone to use.
You can get the latest version at:
    http://www.faunos.com/downloads/faunos-fortytwo
A new wiki has been created at http://wiki.faunos.com. Feel free to contribute and change the wiki as you wish.
Our support and discussion forums can still be found at http://forum.faunos.com
We can definitely use some mirrors for our downloads. We will also be creating a torrent shortly and can use some seeders. Please let us know either here or in the FaunOS forums if you can help in any way.
We'll see ya at the FaunOS forums!
So long and thanks for all the fish,
    Raymano

We have simply used larch but with some additions and changes:
    - FaunOS uses a slightly modified version of larch with the added ability to build a live system from a preinstalled partition on the harddrive.
    - Added fbsplash capabilities to the initial initrd images and kernel.
    - Applications on FaunOS are preconfigured and integrated to work out of the box.
    - Some kernel specific modules/packages have been compiled for the FaunOS kernel, e.g. ndiswrapper.
    - All services are pre-configured to execute out of the box.
    - All available codecs are included.
    - 3D desktop using beryl is preconfigured to run on intel based graphics cards and some ATI cards with a click of a button.
    - Network management is simplified with use of knetworkmanager and wlassistant.
    - Storage are is included on the FaunOS device to share files with other platforms.
    - R/W access Windows parititions by clicking on an icon in KDE.
    - Common grub booting on USB and DVD. With multiple boot options for graphical and non-graphical system.
    - FaunOS's own mkxorgconf utility was added (using hwd) for better automatic configuration of graphics cards. This includes setting up AIGLX.
    - Easily performs frugal install of the live FaunOS system to hard drive, including saved overlays. This was not part of the original larch scripts.
    - Use of sudo to allow the user to perform certain system wide configuration tasks.
    - Integrated flash java and mplayer plugins for Firefox.
    - Ability to put a computer running FaunOS into sleep (suspend-to-ram), remove the FaunOS media, boot and work on other computers with the FaunOS device, return to the original computer, insert the FaunOS device, turn on the computer and continue working where you left off. This in not possible with latest Arch Linux because of the kernel.
    - And we believe, most importantly, you can hand a FaunOS DVD to a user with no knowledge of Linux and say go try this out.

  • Films in the Cloud now available in UK!!!!

and supposedly in 35 other countries:
    http://www.macrumors.com/2012/07/19/apple-expands-itunes-movies-in-the-cloud-to- uk-canada-australia-and-new-zealand/
This is a huge step forward for users outside of the US.
Only 3 Toy Story movies showed initially.  Now I have many more showing up including redeemed Digital Copies from Triple Play Blu Ray packs.
Some reports suggest that if you delete a digital copy from iTunes and redownload from the cloud you now get the iTunes Extras features too - can't confirm as not tried yet.
In addition previous 720p HD purchases may be available in 1080p at no extra charge.
This really is great news and an incentive to get more stuff from iTunes Store.
There are still a few downsides:
Price is often quite high compared to physical discs, and availability of HD titles is still poor.
Re-downloading from the cloud is only possible if the item is still in the store in the same 'format'
The HD from iTunes Store is still not the same quality level as a Blu Ray disc, and won't have HD audio features if you use those, but hopefully in years to come as all our internet speeds improve these things may become enhanced - I think for many users the convenience is going to kill the quality argument, the same way that MP3 players/iPods did for audio quality.
No guarantee that in 5/10/15 years iTunes store is still around.

  • Sneak Preview NetWeaver 04 now available!! -  now REALLY available

I'm pleased to announce that the new Sneak Preview NetWeaver 04 is now available to download on SDN! The sneak preview will be available in four different editions. The first two editions focusing on Java development tools are available now. They are called, conveniently enough, "Java Edition" and "Slim Edition" (slim, as in smaller package with less memory consumption and a few less features).
Java version is back online, sorry for the inconvenience! **
Two more editions will be added to the Sneak Preview in the coming weeks, also conveniently named "ABAP Edition" for the ABAP development environment and the big "Full Edition" with additional SAP NetWeaver components to evaluate.
So, need I say more? Why not check out the Sneak Preview yourself and try your hand at developing applications with SAP NetWeaver. Read these details before you decide which one you'd like to try (make sure you're logged in!):
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/library/downloads/evaluation software/sneak preview netweaver 04.htm
While you're doing all this, let us know what you think! Join a discussion in this forum or start your own discussions, post questions, help others with their questions if you can. Your feedback on this sneak preview will help improve the quality of the final product!
Thanks for reading - now go download!
    Kathy Meyers
    SDN Community Manager
Message was edited by: Kathleen Meyers re: availability of Java edition and added link to download page

Could be one of a few things.
    1. We had to take the "Java" edition offline temporarily. It should be back up later today. IF you tried to access it, this might be why you cannot download.
    2. If you are having a general problem accessing our FTP server for downloads, perhaps you can check whether your (company) firewall allows FTP access. If it does not, perhaps you can see whether you can change your firewall to allow for the SAP.com domain. See: Can't download, Company firewall accept NO FTP access
    3. Also, during times of high traffic, it may be difficult to download the larger files we offer as the FTP server has a limit to number of parallel sesions. You might try to download during a different time of day.
If none of these apply, please explain in more detail why you cannot download.
    Thanks,
    Kathy Meyers, SDN

  • Announcement : New SPS Patch Release (v 6.0.3) Now Available

A newer release of Service Provisioning System (version 6.0.3) is now available for download on sunsolve
The Release Notes for this release are available here and is a good place to start.
    {color:#0000ff}*You are strongly encouraged to go through the Release Notes AND the README instructions of all the patches thoroughly before starting your patch installations.*{color}
The following are the key changes that were incorporated in this release.
    1) A fix in the SPS transport layer code was implemented to provide performance optimization of deployment jobs over a raw, SSH or SSL connection. Specifically, customers using an SSL connection between MS and the RA/LD nodes can observe noticeable performance improvements while deploying large payloads.
    2) A fix was also added to correct the default database encoding for customers who want to use extended ASCII character sets. This would not only facilitate clean database migration between 5.2 to 6.0 of any UTF-8 characters, but also ensure data integrity on fresh 6.0 installation. It's strongly recommended that customers take necessary steps to apply this fix on their SPS 6.0 installations.
    3) Certain GUI related      bugs were fixed and some missing functionality was added back.
    4) It is to be noted that this is a cumulative patch on top of the earlier patch release version 6.0.2. Hence all the bug fixes that were delivered with the 6.0.2 patch are also accumulated into the 6.0.3 patch
    5) Response time of GUI login validation has been improved.

another option would be to make either the n1sps export not writing explicit end tags
    <element />
    instead of
    <element></element>
    or
making the import / schema a bit less sensitive about whitespace within elements. The current bug, that you cannot export the xml, reformat in netBeans and then re-import is extremely annoying.

  • 10.1.0.3 Patchset Now Available

The 10.1.0.3 patchset is now available on Metalink for Microsoft Windows and Intel Linux. From a brief glance at the rest of the platforms it doesn't appear to be out yet for the Unix platforms.
Can anyone from Oracle let us know if there's any changed/improved functionality from an OLAP point of view with the 10.1.0.3 patchset? One thing I do know is that Discoverer Plus OLAP (aka Drake) requires 10.1.0.3, but is there anything else in the patch that should interest us?
    thanks

    1) I urge all OLAP 10g users to apply the OLAP 10.1.0.3.0A patch (PS# 3769360) to their 10.1.0.3.0 databases. Do not run OLAP without it. Currently the patch is only available on Windows. Linux and HP-UX should be available soon.
    2) Be sure to patch both the Oracle Database Server and Client with the RDBMS 10.1.0.3.0 and OLAP 10.1.0.3.0A patches. Analytic Workspace Manager is found on the Client. So if you fail patching AWM, it will become out of sync with the Server and will not work.
    3) Any new functionality with AWM 10.1.0.3.0A? Users are no longer required to manually enable the analytic workspace for query by the OLAP API. Dynamic enablement automatically creates compatible SQL views over the analytic workspace even if you change the logical model.
    4) Does AWM 10.1.0.3.0A use AWXML? Yes, however only for the query access. The building processing has not changed. With the upcoming 'AWM2' (10.1.0.3.0B), this will completely change over to AWXML.
AWM2 will allow you to go directly from Oracle relational source tables or views to a multidimensional analytic workspace, without the previous prerequisites of creating ROLAP objects. Simply define and alter the logical model within AWM2 and see your results instantaneously. Easily create calculated measures with sophisticated, custom aggregations, etc...
Currently the OLAP 10.1.0.3.0B patch and corresponding AWM2 has a GA of September 30th.
    5) Will the OLAP 10g docs be updated for 10.1.0.3.0/10.1.0.3.0A/10.1.0.3.0B? Yes, the Javadoc for the OLAP API and AWXML has been updated for 10.1.0.3.0. The OLAP DML Guide is being be re-edited and should be available within a week. The OLAP Reference and App Developer's Guide are being overhauled for 10.1.0.3.0A and will be available by the end of the month. Then again for 10.1.0.3.0B, the App Developer's Guide will be updated.

    Stephane & Alex-
Kodo 4.0.0 ships with the final JDO 2.0 jars, but it is not yet a
    complete JDO 2 implementation.
We do still intend to complete JDO 2 compliance in the near future, but
as of 4.0.0, Kodo is still officially a JDO 1 product.
    Stephane Bouchet wrote:
    Another question :
Is the final release will be compliant with the last (and final) JDO 2.0 API ?
It seems it is not the case for the current release.

    Hi Mark,
Is any work done on JDO side of the product? If I am not mistaken the list
of outstanding JDO issues has not changed for quite a while. Are you
planning to release the product without addressing them?
    Thank you
