LR4 crashes when going to develope module

I have tried making a new catalog, but nothing works. Registered version of LR4 crashes evertime I hit the D key from the grid module. It goes to the develope module but the picture does not open and it freezes.
Thanks for your help,
Tom

Are you able to get to the Develop module without using the Grid module (secondary monitor Grid View?) and keyboard shortcut (i.e. click Develop in the module picker)?
Are you trying to go to Develop with the same image each time this happens?

Hi When going from Develop module to print module a white boarder appears on screen which also prints via my epson r3000 printer. I can get round this by exporting photo to Elements and printing from there but can i get rid of the boarder and print from lightroom?

In the printer driver (accessed through the Page Setup button) set the Advanced tab to borderless. Then in the right hand panel under Layout set all the margins to zero.

  • Problems losing quality when going from develop module to library module ??  anyone have a fix

Problems losing quality when going to library module from develop module.  Sharpness and color quality decrease

This is normal. There will be a difference as you are comparing Library Previews with the image in Develop which accesses the original file, although the difference is usually slight. Real results need to be judged from exporting after selecting the output sharpening e.g. for glossy paper, if printing or screen sharpening for web images or emailing.
The idea with sharpening is to apply capture sharpening so that the image in Develop looks just sharp but not over sharp. Lightroom then uses the correct algorithm for output sharpening based upon image size and quality settings etc.

  • Lightroom 5.4 64-bit crashes when switching to develop module (and during random other functions)

This seems to be a new issue that has developed over the past few days. I have been using Lightroom for multiple years without too many issues. Within the last 90 days I have upgraded to Lightroom 5. Today, upon loading up Lightroom (either 3.6 or 5.2) they both crash upon switching over to the develop module. I have upgraded 5.2 to 5.4, uninstalled 3.6, restarted my computer; still crashes with error message: "Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 64-bit has stopped working - A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." Which upon clicking "Close Program" it simply closes the program. Any ideas as to why this is happening and a possible fix? This is greatly impacting workflow. Following is a copy of my System info from Lightroom.

Seeming this seems to have stopped around the 21st of May and its now the 9th of June, does this mean we just do nothing about it and hope and pray that one day Adobe, who are very quick to take our money every month, can resolve this ? Has there been a fix noted for this yet ?

  • Liight Room 4.2 Crashes When Going into Development

Light Room 4.2 Crashes. I was setting up Light Room and accidently clickede on Development. The program then crashed. I shut the program down and tried to start it up several times with the same result. Need a suggestion as to how to bring things back or a fix is required. Anyone have any suggestions.

Windows 7.By the way, it started working again, but lost my entire setup. Do you have any suggestions as to where the setup data went?

  • Print issues when going from develope to print

In LR5 when going from Develope to Print, I loose the picture and the print tab is greyed out.  Never had this problem before, did I do something wrong

Make sure the source remains the same - check the filmstrip.
The only suggestion is to place the batch for editing and printing into a collection or (temporary) quick collection and access the images from there in both modules.

  • App crashing when going back to previous view

I've got my app. which has several views. in my 3rd view, i have a list of questions with yes/no answers the answers to which I'm saving to a plist. it was working all good. but then i added a first view with a table which has 4 options, clicking on either of these rows go to the same view but each of them change the value of the variable in my singleton class, which then decides which questions are added to the 3rd view. so this helps me to jus have one view but the variable controls the different questions. Now my problem is that if i change something in my 3rd view, for eg, i choose yes/no , then when i am going back to the main viw , my app crashes. I am not sure why this happens. How does it work anyway-the inherent back button on the navigation bar? im guessing it calls the viewdidload function for the first/second view when going back to them from the first view, i dont undrstand why it crashes, coz the viewdidloads of these views seem okay to me.
    thanks

write the piece of code causing the crash or paste the output on the console to get to know what actually cause your application to be crashed.

  • Strange phenomenon when scrolling through develop module images in LR6

I just upgraded to LR6 and so far like what I see as far as performance increases.
Noticed a strange phenomenon today while scrolling through the images in the develop module. These are all rendered images with a preset applied to them.
I notice when I use the arrow key to go to the next image, the image first displays very "flat" or basic and then the rendered image appears a second or two later. If I scroll back the image displays normal rendered.
It is only when I go about 2-3 images back it starts to display the same issue of non-rendered to then a rendered image. If I scroll forward to images I have not seen yet it does the same thing of showing a non-rendered image to a rendered image.
I think I narrowed this down to the "Use the graphics processor" option. If I turn this off  the image loads a lot slower but only displays the rendered version and not the flat and then rendered version.
Turning the GPU option back on immediately does the dual image version. Strange and hard to explain but not sure if anyone else has seen this.

  • LR4 crashes when softproofing

Certain icc profiles are crashing LR4 beta when attempting to soft proof while others work fine. I have the error report generated by my Macpro if it is of value to anyone.

Perfect, they are the same ones I've seen.  The ImagePrint ones don't confirm to the ICC spec - go to ColorSync Utility in the Applications > Utilities folder and run First Aid - it should repair them so it doesn't crash.  The crash should get fixed - it should fail gracefull in the final release.

  • LR4 crashing when scaling

In the Develop Module, Lens Correction panel I was correcting perspective on some pictures.  Whenever I used the scaling slider to recover parts of the picture that had gone out of fame, LR4 just stopped operating.  This happened several times and continued to happen whenever I moved the slider to below 90%.  Has anybody else suffered this problem?
    NL

I would like to add for the benefit of any LR experts that:
I have been using LR4 Beta since its release and quite heavily as I have over 1,000 images from a recent trip.  I have not previously suffered this problem.
The pictures I have been editing are new DNGs from Canon CR2 that have not previously been edited in any way but were imported via LR3.6 and basic metdata added at the time of import.

I'm only including info about the first thread because it's the one that crashed, but I have the whole thing if there's like to be something useful there.
It always seems to be related to displaying the map, and the WebKit reference above seems to back that up.  Sometimes it'll display some tiles and then crash, and sometimes, like this time, it crashes before it displays any of the map.  This has happened with earlier versions of OS 10.9 as well, but I can't find those diagnostic reports to see if they point to the same thing.  I've tried throwing away my Lightroom preference file and purging the cache, but neither has helped.  It's happened equally with photos that are already geotagged and ones that have no location information.  I don't think I've ever seen it happen if I quit Lightroom after importing and before switching to the Maps module, so maybe that's a clue.
Has anyone else had this sort of issue with the maps module?
    Rob

I frequently see this problem. Have not yet found a solution. It is not a fatal error -- no data is lost, nothing seems to be corrupted. Since I'm not a programming expert, I can't really guess. I do get the impression that Lightroom, for all it's fantastic features (and I do think they're fantastic), it is very slow (though I am working on pre-Intel Mac).

  • LR 2.1rc1 crashes... Develop Module - Again

So after a successful several hour run in the library module adjusting images... I've had two crashes in the develop module in 45 minutes.
Quad Core, Win XP Pro SP3, 4GB RAM, ATI Video Card, Wacom graphics tablet.
    Develop Module Crash 1
While rotating and cropping I had a segmentation fault.
    >Faulting application lightroom.exe, version 2.1.0.1, faulting module ui.dll, version 2.1.0.0, fault address 0x000deb91.
    >Faulting application lightroom.exe, version 2.1.0.1, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 5.1.2600.5512, fault address 0x00042b9f.
    Develop Module Crash 2
Continuing after the above crash I had a hang. I know this because CPU went 0% and Filemon was reporting no disc access from LR.
Come on Adobe, you clearly damaged the develop module from LR1.4->LR2.0 and not fixed it for LR2.1rc1. Get the code under peer review because someone's introduced a race condition with the local adjustment code.

My update from LR 1.4.1 to LR 2.1 is finished without problems. Nevertheless a switch from the biblio modul to the develop modul end in a hang up (or catalog lock) of LR 2.1 on my "production" PC. No problems with LR 1.4.1 on the same PC. A new installation on an old "test" PC with LR 2.1 (in upgrade mode) works without problems. So the story. My question is: Are there any problems (in LR 2.1) with grahic cards or driver known?
    Thanks for help.

  • Dreamweaver crashes when going to Design View on jQuery CSS3/HTML5 vanilla W3C-verified site

I created a new web site with HTML5, CSS3, Javascript and jQuery.    I verified all of the CSS and HTML with the W3C site.
Dreamweaver gives no errors, and will open the site in code-view, but hangs and crashes when I try to go to design view.   The only unusual thing about this site is that its responsive and uses media queries and some animations.
Microsoft Expression Web 4 will open the site and go to design view just fine, and has no problem displaying Design View.  Should I hold my breath for Adobe to fix this problem, or just use Expression Web instead?

    KenGross,
Does the code contain any external library links - .js, .css, even Google Analytics code?
If so, can you try commenting them out in Code view, then load them in Design view to see if the issue persists?

If you have submitted crash reports then please post the IDs of one or more recent crash reports that have a "bp-" prefix:
    *bp-xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx
You can find the Report ID of recent crash reports on the "Help > Troubleshooting Information" page (about:support).
*Click the "All Crash Reports" button on this page to open the <b>about:crashes</b> page and see all crash reports.
If necessary then you can open <b>about:</b> pages via the location/address bar.
