LR4 invokes both 32- and 64-bit Photoshop diff times. Want 64.

Searched various ways -- no threads found.
When I go out of LR4.1 to edit in Photoshop I see both 32- and 64-bit versions of PS v5.5 start -- judging from version string in the splash graphic, which includes the "x32" or "x64". Yesterday, every time I side-tripped it called v12.something.x32. This morning it was the 64-bit. I usually click the image in LR4.1 and type <CTRL-E> but yesterday I sometimes used the menu fly-out under "Photo --> Edit In", too.
Looking into this, I read in threads yesterday that both versions are on any machine so went looking for two different ".exe" files but found only one.
My OS is Win7 Pro, 64-bit.
Any suggestions of ways to guarantee that the 64-bit version opens every time?

Thank you for answering, and I looked at the Reg change discussed. The Adobe documentation doesn't tie this change to the issue I am having. I "start" PS in two different ways. But if I go to the "photoshop.exe" file as shown in Windows Explorer, I sure want PS 64-bit to start. That file is the one to which LR points as set up by LR's Preferences or whatever dialog box appeared. PS is named as the External Editor in the Prefs tab., "External Editing". PS is named as the first entry on the flyout menu, and I often invoke it with <CTRL-E>.
I was hoping for more users to look at their splash screens at PS start and share what version starts on their 64-bit systems. Perhaps there is a pattern that explains why one version or another starts.
Questions for other LR/PS users:
What version starts when you side-trip to PS?
Whare are the two versions differentiated as "start" resources? (not deep in the Registry, I mean.)
Do I care which starts?

Some plug-ins require the 32-bit version. If you are going to just use it as is, no plug-ins for devices, then th 64-bit version should be fine.

To make my solution - integrate SQL Server with Oracle - work, i had to install both 32 and 64 bits of the Oracle 12c Client. After that, i had to change the properties of my SSIS package to run on 32 bits only (properties > Debugging >
Run64BitRuntime set to FALSE). Before i made this change, the execution of my package was failing, but after setting Run64BitRuntime to false, the package ran successfully. Why is that?
I am thinking of unistalling the 64 bits ORacle Client from my Windows Server, but i fear that if i uninstall, my package stop working.
Any suggestions/corrections will be most appreciated.

The 32-bit and 64-bit versions of a provider have the same ID. Therefore, the SSIS runtime will select the appropriate version of the provider to use. 32-bit SSIS Designer always requires and uses the 32-bit version of a provider at design time. However
when running the package in 64-bit mode that the Run64BitRuntime project property is True, it automatically switches to the 64-bit version of the provider. When it couldn’t find 64-bit version of the provider, the package would be failed. For more details,

So in your scenario, it seems that there is not a 64 bit provider for Oracle in your environment, so the issue occurs. Please make sure you have installed the correct 64-bit version of the Oracle provider.

Can we use both INSERT and UPDATE at the same time in JDBC Receiver

Hi All,
I would like to know is it possible to use both INSERT and UPDATE at the same time in one interface because I have a requirement in which I have to perform both the task.
user send the file which contains both new and old record and I need to save those in MS SQL database.
If the record exist then use UPDATE otherwise use INSERT.
I looked on sdn but didn't find any blog which perform both the things at the same time.
Interface Requirement
FILE -
> PI -
> JDBC(INSERT & UPDATE)
I am thinking to use JDBC Lookup but not sure if it good to use for bulk record.
Can somebody please suggest me something or send me the link of any blog or anything to solve this problem.

          If I have understood properly the scenario properly,you are not performing insert and update together. As you posted
"If the record exist then use UPDATE otherwise use INSERT."
Thus you are performing either an insert or an update which depends on outcome of a search if the records already exist in database or not. Obviously to search the tables you need " select * from ... where ...." query. If your query returns some results you proceed with update since this means there are some old records already in database. If your query returns no rows you proceed with "insert into tablename....." since there are no old records present in database.
Now perhaps the best method to do the searching, taking a decision to insert or update, and finally insert or update operation is to be done by a stored procedure in MS SQL database. A stored procedure is a subroutine available to applications accessing a relational database system. Here the application is PI server.     Still you might face some problems while your scenario runs. Lets consider this scenario, after the stored procedure searches the database it found no rows. Thus you proceed with an insert operation. If your database table is being accessed by multiple applications (or users) other than yours then it is very well possible that after the search operation completed with a null result, an insert/update operation has been performed by some other application with the same primary key. Now when you are trying to insert another row with same primary key you get an error message like "duplicate entry not possible for same primary key value".     There must be other methods to avoid this problem. But the point is you need to be sure that all access to database for insert/update operations are isolated.

There is no setup involved to ePrint from a computer. So, the answer is yes. All you need to do in order to ePrint, is send an email (attaching whatever you wish to print) to the printer's email address.

for ex:
when i plug in both computer
i could able to read and write on the hdd on both computer
since i format it into 4 partitions (2 journal and 2 doc)
so i wish i can use them separately in 2 computers

using such USB or Firewire connected external harddrives with two computers at the same time is usually not recommended by the manufacturer.
Doing so might lead to data-loss and the like.
Check with the manual of that harddisk to verify.
Using it with one computer at a time with your partitioning should be doable.

Photoshop CS4 - How to install both 64 and 32 bit versions on XP 64

Hello-
When I installed Photoshop CS4 along with the other apps on CS4 Web Premium I thought that both versions of PShop would be installed by default, but that was not the case with my installation; only the 64 bit version was installed.
Now I would like to install the 32 bit version but when I try to do it through setup I am unable to check the box. There is a list of "Installed Products" and then "Available Products"; the only thing under "Available Products" is Photoshop CS4, but I am unable to check the box.
Any ideas on how I can install the 32-bit version? I want it for the GPU acceleration and to use certain plugins.

a)re: built for XP64 - note that I said "gave the [erroneous] impression," meaning that someone could plausibly infer that PSCS4 64 will not run reliably on XP 64, which is categorically untrue. I am NOT saying that there are not people who have had problems and will continue having problems with PS CS4 on XP 64.* However, I am personally attesting - having worked with PS CS on my XP 64 system a lot since buying it this week, including continuously since I reinstalled last night ( I tend to work at night) - that PS CS4 runs gloriously on XP 64, INCLUDING the OpenGL stuff once you patch the reg via the link I posted (which, by the way, would have been a valid answer to my question).
On that note, telling me stuff that I already know is NOT a valid answer. Further, as we have seen, my running this on XP 64, as opposed to Vista, was irrelevant, if only (but not really only) because that is not the system to which my question referred. How did telling me about Vista help? If you don't know what to do with XP 64, then you don't know....I didn't know either, at least when I posed my question. Your reference to Vista was POINTLESS.
b) re: installing to non-default directory. I have been doing this for so long that I can't remember not doing it, and I have never, ever had a problem like this, and I do have other dual-bit depth apps. This should be a non-issue. If I thought it was relevant I would have mentioned it, but in light of what I just said, it did not seem to be a factor. Crikey- CS3 is in that same directory! Why would Adobe's installer get confused? They are the same structures, i.e. %disk%:\Program Files, %disk%:\Program Files (x86). If you knew things that might cause my problem - you didn't-you might have asked about my install.... Instead, you told me what anyone who had read my question would already know that I knew, namely that there would be two different locations for the two different versions. Incidentally, and here's good intel here, when you do get them both installed, you get BOTH versions listed in your Adobe CS4 whatever edition programs folder. Right there! So, if you had known what you were on about, you would have realized that there was NO WAY that PS 32 was mysteriously hiding somewhere. This is another clue that you knew nothing about the subject you were purportedly answering!
So why, why, why am I picking on you? Because there was a time when you could post a simple question on the internets and some helpful soul would take the time to actually read and consider the question before giving an answer that, even if not ultimately fruitful, was at least in the freaking ballpark. But those days are gone** and even though I know that and I expect nothing, I posted anyway, and along came you, with two heaping helpings of SQUAT in terms of useful advice. What the hey? AMD 64X2 5600 on AMD/ATI 780G Chipset with dual integrated ATI 3200 Graphic plus an extra ATI 3400 card running three different monitors (2 on the 3200 and one on the 3400). On my setup PS likes to enable and actually work with the OpenGL stuff when I launch either/or the 64 or 32 bit version on the monitor that is attached to the 3400 card. After that I can drag the app anywhere I want and it works.

Doubt - mouse double click invokes both single and double click

I added mouse listener to a java component. In the mouseClicked() method, I have implementation for both mouse single and double click. When I try to double click that component it invokes the single click method first and the it invokes the double click method. My problem is when I try to double click that component it should invoke my double click method alone not single click too.
I'd be very grateful if someone can help me.

Your problem: a double click is two single clicks. The first click will always fire a single-click event. How's the computer supposed to know that another click is to follow?
All I think you could do is to instantiate a timer in the one-click method, set to whatever amount of time you think a double-click should take. If you get a second event while the timer's still active, it was a double-click and you can stop the timer and do the double-click action. Otherwise your timer should execute the single-click action after it timed out.
But this will make your GUI look like it's responding slowly to single-clicks.

Sound coming from both speakers and headphones at the same time in probook 4440s

I have a Probook 4440s with windows 8 pro(64 bit) with IDT high definition codec installed. Yesterday when i was playing some songs i noticed that the sound was coming from both headphones and speakers even when my headphones are plugeed in and my lappy was having no such problems a few hours earliers while i was watching a movie. Please help..

It may be because you have both the internal speakers and headphones enabled at the sametime on your laptop. This might just happen automatically when you plug your headphones in. You need to manage your audio devices on your laptop.
Go to Control Panel> Hardware and Sounds> Manage Audio Devices> Playback Tab (which should already be selected)
In the playback tab there should be a list of all the audio devices you are using on your computer. Right click on the one you don't want to use and click disable. This should stop the sound coming from that audio device.
Remember: You will need to enable that audio device if you want to listen to sound through it again. Your internal speakers won't work once you enable them again. This might also be the case with your headphones. You may also have to do this every time your plug in a device or once you restart your computer.
Another note: Sometimes disabled devices will not show up on the audio device list so once you disable a device it will dissappear. This is an easy fix too. Just right click on an audio device and make sure show disabled devices and show disconnected devices is checked.

Same physical printer but when connecting to SAME computer using both USB and wireless it becomes two (logical) printers. Probably your default prnter is the wireless one, you have to select the right printer before print .

As Kodandapani mentioned it’s not possible to display both languages same
time as its mapping to same T table where LANGU is part of key.
I recommend you to create an attribute or maintain another table for other
language to display at a time.

Why is my Photoshop CS4 not installing both 64 and 32 bit versions?

I'm running Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit.
I purchased and downloaded Photoshop CS4 Extended and it installed as a 64 bit program. Now I need a 32 bit version also (for some Nik plugins), but the installer didn't install the 32 bit version (it would be in Program Files (x86). It should have installed both as a default.
Also, I didn't change the default pathing as I know that can screw the install up.
I ran the install program again and it runs through the complete install without giving me the Options Panel to select which version 64 or 32 (or both) to install.
Should I completely uninstall PS and reinstall to see if I get the install Options Panel? Other Ideas?

It's a great idea, but I don't know how. I have the downloaded the PS CS4 file from Adobe that I used to originally install PS. I re-ran this install program and it reinstalled the same 64bit program that I already have; it never gave me any options as to which version to install.
I'm think I'll just have to de-activate, uninstall, reinstall to get the PS install Options Panel.

You can't. You need to uninstall both and then reinstall only the 64bit version, if that is what you want.
