LR4 Plug-in Compatibility

I am using LR3 with some of J Friedl's great plug-ins - JF Facebook, JF Geocoding Support, JF Metadata Presets, JF Picasaweb and a few others.  How painless is the upfrade to LR4?  Do these all have to be reloaded and re-configured?
Thanks,
Paul

  • Plug in compatability between BW plugin in R/3 and BI - R/3 upgrade to ECC6

    Hello,
we are running SAP NetWeaver BI 7.0  Release 700 Patch 19.
Our underlying R/3 system is still 4.6C with plugin 2004_1_46C ( yes, I know it is time )
We are upgrading R/3 to ECC6 with plug in P701 Patch 3.
    Questions:
1.) I would like to know where exactly I can see which ECC6 plugin is copmpatible with our BI Version.
2.) Did anyone who has upgraded to ECC6 experience any particular issues when upgrading the plugin?
3.) Sense check of approach - so far the simplistic idea from a BW perspective is:
New R/3 system has been created and connected to BW :
1.)     In BW ACTIVATE SOURCE SYSTEM
2.)     In source system connection option : Replicate datasources and activate
3.)     Transfer global settings u2013 first simulate then update tables u2013 no rebuild should be necessary
Before the Plugin P 701 in the R/3 ( ECC6 ) system can be upgraded the BW delta queues need to be cleared in the source system ( R/3.)
4.)     Clear out V3 queue either via BW as part of the jobplan ( or manually via RSA7 but would mean loss of data )
5.)     After run of batch schedule during posting free period check in RSA7 for entries in delta queue - should be empty
                         now.
6.)     Does the clearing of the delta might need to be run twice to clear the queue completely ?????
8.)                 Deactivate logistics cockpit via SBIW ...LEBW ( is this mandatory ? )
9.)                 If delta queues are empty and the logistics cockpit is deactivated then upgrade the plug ins in R/3
10.)               Then repeat step 1-3 and reactivate the logistics cockpit again
    Is this it?
Many thanks for advise on this.
    Regards
    ChrisAC

    SAP Note : 153967 and
https://service.sap.com/r3-plug-in should give some information on plug in compatibility...
8.) Deactivate logistics cockpit via SBIW ...LEBW ( is this mandatory ? )  - I think you just need to desachedule the collection jobs alone and not deactivate the LO Extractors and activate them once again...

  • Plug in compatability between LR versions

    Hi,
I have LR3, and saw a plug in to export from LR2 to Shutterfly.  Can I safely assume that plugins are forward compatible, or am I limited to plug ins that are specifically tagged for LR3?
    thanks,
    ray

Answered my own question by seeing a similar question in a previous post.  Yes it is compatable in this particular case.  I suspect mileage may vary from plug in to plug in in terms of being verified to work on later LR versions.  It loaded and worked like a charm.  Sorry for the noise.

  • Illustrator CS6 and Plug-In Compatibility

With Illustrator being compiled for 64-bit, I'm wondering if the change will break certain third party plug-ins and scripts. There's a few pretty handy ones I'd hate to lose.
Will Illustrator have both 32-bit and 64-bit versions similar to what was done with Photoshop in CS5.5? In the case of Photoshop the separate 32-bit and 64-bit versions were necessary for cutting/copying/pasting content from one app to another, like 32-bit Illustrator CS5.1 or 64-bit After Effects CS5.5. It appears the CS6 suite will still have some apps that are 32-bit only.

I guess that's the main reason why I'm wondering if Adobe will have two copies of Illustrator in CS6, a 32-bit version and a 64-bit version. Older plug-ins and scripts may still work in a 32-bit version, along with maintaining better compatibility with existing .AI files.
It is a shame to lose use of some old plug-ins. I have a few Photoshop plug-ins that have been rendered useless by the move to a 64-bit operating system. For instance, Kai's Power Tools 3 was a pretty fun package. A copule of its .DLL files just aren't compatible with Windows 7. I don't know why Corel isn't making some effort to revive the old KPT filters in 64-bit; they could probably make some decent coin for the effort. I still have an old desktop machine running Photoshop 6 in case I absolutely needed some KPT cheese to throw into a project.

  • Firefox 3.6.3 and Ovi Maps Plug-In compatibility

Hello everybody. I have a new problem since yesterday and I sure could use some help. My problem is that suddenly (since yesterday) when I open the Ovi Maps site (http://maps.ovi.com/) I don't see the map surface anymore, I just see a white surface!!! Everything else is in place. I can zoom in and out of this white surface I can even change to 3D and the blue sky on top appears but no map. Needless to say the same goes for satelite or any other option. No map appears. If I reload the page the map appears for a second and disappears immediately. When I deactivate the ovi maps plug-in (4.0.12.12), the map reappears and stays. I even tried to unistall it and reinstall it but the same thing happens, NO map visible. When I reinstalled it, it said that the plug-in is not compatible with firefox 3.6.3. The strange thing is that I didn't updated my firefox since yesterday,  it just started to happen suddenly. I couldn't find anything like that elsewhere on the web so this place is my last hope. Has anyone had a similar experience or even better a possible solution? By the way I have windows 7 but I can't imagine a reason for this being relevant since it work just fine until yesterday. I thank everyone for his hint/idea/solution in advance.
    Carlosl

Use Internet Explorer. I used to use ovi maps on firefox as well until FF suddenly updated itself. It works ok on IE.

  • Plug-In compatibility problem

I'm running CS5.1 on a Windows 7, 64 bit machine.  I've been using plug-in's from Neat Image and OnOne for a long time with no issues.  Now I've installed Topaz Adjust plug-in and I'm having a problem.  Randomly, when I launch Photoshop and look in Filters I will find EITHER my old plug-in's or the new Topaz plug-in.  But never all three at the same time.  And it is always random as to which will load at launch.
    Any thoughts on this problem?

Well, that's an interesting point.  I'm pretty sure that I'm running the 64 bit version (at least I thought I was) and all of the plug-in's are supposed to be 64 bit as well.  Topaz comes with both 32 bit and 64 bit so I insured the 64 bit was installed in the Photoshop plug-in folder.  But it is entirely possible that I have managed to get it into the wrong folder set, so I'll have to go back and look at that again tonight.
I start Photoshop several different ways.  From Bridge I will right click on an image and select to open with Photoshop.  If it's a RAW image then Camera Raw will open first, from there to Photoshop.  Also from Bridge I will often want to work on bracketed images as layers so I'll highlight a set of images and from the tools menu select to open in Photoshop layers.  Then of course there is the desktop shorcut.  Until now it never occurred to me that those actions might be opening different versions of Photoshop.
Thanks for the suggestion.  I'll get into that tonight.

  • Plug-in compatibility

Would it be compatible with iMovie HD plug-ins ?
I've a lot of transitions and effects in my iMovie HD setup (slick studio) and i want to know if they will work...
    thank you.
    bye

so sorry to tell you - apples effects and themes no longer exist in the new version... so looks like any third party wouldn't either.
All Imovie 08 is - is a way to take your videos and quickly piece them together...

  • Panorama stitching.  Is there a LR4 plug-in?

    Hi,
I am interested in stitching 5 shots inside Fenway baseball park.  I use Lightroom, but I don't have Photoshop.   Is there a separate tool or better yet a plug in that would allow me to stitch photos together?   Any guidance on whether to edit the photos first in LR, then export each and assemble, or to start with stitching and then edit in LR?    The camera files are in RAW from a Nikon D300.
    Thanks!
    Dave

Hugin is an amazing and free program for stitching, however it does not do multiple exposure like PTgui Pro does
PTgui Pro does tone mapped HDR and fusion based ( much more natural looking) HDR.
I've tried both, but PTgui is just amazing -
this shot is 9 photos stitched together using PTgui) A tripod was used as each shot was 15 seconds.
This shot was hand held and again stitched with PTgui
This shot is made up of 15 photos, 3 exposures taken (-2,0,+2) then the camera rotated 10 degrees and the process repeated. It was stitched with PTgui and also fusion blended using the HDR Fusion option within PTgui.
They are not plugins, but very powerful tools for panoramics
    enjoy

  • Plug-ins Compatability With IntelMacs

    Hi
i was thinking of replacing my G4 Powerbook with a MacBook Pro, but i am unsure if my plug-ins will work.
RMX has a beta which is ok, but Atmosphere and Trilogy are not supported, and is not recommended to use the Rosetta solution - does anyone have another solution ?
Below is a list of my plug-ins, it would be great if somebody who also has them could let me know if they still work with the IntelMac & if the Rosetta solution works for them.

G4 PowerBook   Mac OS X (10.4.7)   logic pro

That's been my frustration at times but I bought into the Intel macs cuz I needed a new box badly.
The thing with these developers is that they all say when xyz app is out we'll have plugins. You know what? I think that's a major mental retardation move. They lose nothing to make the switch and just have a universal binary ready ahead of xyz app. They're all so freakin' vague about it too it's really really annoying.
I have plugins, but I guess my advantage is that I bought logic after the Intel Mac and logic 7.2 was released (within 1 week of each other) so all plugins I buy I buy the ones that are available. In your case it's a pretty crapola position to be in, and you have to either lobby the developers, or just wait. *****.
I'm part of the software industry and I am baffeled by this irresponsible and illogical way of thinking. I know a lot of the companies don't have a lot of developers, but come on, this will generate more sales for them. I could care less if they charged me an upgrade price if I had a plugin already, but no it seems density has set in and they let Apple just switch ALL their machines to Intel, and now everyone will be buying intel machines, and guess what... the ones without a Universal Binary plugin will lose out.
    Lame and real short sighted.

  • 7.1.1 AudioSuite plug-in compatibility

    Hello,
has anybody found something about this enhancement ? I don't get it. Does it mean there's a new audiosuite menu in the main menu bar ?
    thanks.

    I finally fit in here
I stopped posting here because I thought i was the only one that couldn't speak english, I guess there is more of us
Its good that you don't have to be an english person to use logic or make music
otherwise i would have been a really bad musician
because the translation can't help me when it comes to using logic or making music :-D
anyway, back to making good music

  • LR4 and Camera Raw 6.7

    Hello,
This is my first post, so please bear with me if I do something wrong.
I got LR4 (update from 3) right after it was relesed.  I also have Photoshop CS5, so I ran into the PS/LR4 interoperability issue like everybody else.  I just checked the status of this issue and I read the followinng in the Lightroom Journal (posted by thogarty on March 12, 2012 under the title "Lightroom 4 Hot Issues":
The team would like to provide an update on several issues discovered since last Monday night’s launch. Thanks for your patience while we investigated and compiled this list.
    Edit in Photoshop Workflow
Currently, the Edit in Photoshop workflow asks that you have the Camera Raw 7 plug-in installed.  Please note that the Camera Raw 7 plug-in is not available at this time.  The correct plug-in for Lightroom 4 and Photoshop CS5 compatibility is Camera Raw 6.7, currently available on Adobe Labs Please keep in mind that currently Camera Raw 6.7 is a a Release Candidate version of the plug-in. A “release candidate” label indicates that this update is well tested but would benefit from additional community testing before it is distributed automatically to all of our customers.
This is a little confusing.  When I start up LR4 and go to Help>About I get the About window in whose upper right corner I see "Lightroom 4.0, Camera Raw 7.0".  What is going to happen when the Camera Raw 6.7 gets released and I install it.  Is it going to upgrade my PS plug-in only or, perhaps, downgrade my LR4 plug-in at the same time?
    REgards,
    Andy

I don't have Lightroom 4. And from what I had seen so far in the forum, I don't plan on getting it. But from what I have seen I don't think things are any different than they have been with previous versions. Lightroom 4 has been designed to work with Camera Raw 7, which will be part of Photoshop CS6. I don't have the CS6 Beta, and don't plan on getting it. But apparently ACR 7 is not yet ready for release. When you don't have the current release of Camera Raw my experience has been that Lightroom has always given that warning and provided you with the opportunity to edit a copy which includes the Lightroom adjustments. The reason this has to be done is that when you send a raw image from Lightroom to Photoshop Camera Raw Has to interpret the adjustments. And if you don't have the current version the best thing to choose is to send a copy that includes the Lightroom adjustments.
But there seems to be a problem at this point because Lightroom 4 has been released ahead of Photoshop CS6 and so things are out of sync at the present time.
When I was still using Lightroom 2 and even Lightroom 3 I was using Photoshop CS3. So my option was always to send a copy of the raw image to Photoshop. In those two versions of Lightroom the adjustments carried through and I felt the results were acceptable. Apparently, that isn't the case right now with the new version.
Sending a copy to Photoshop doesn't really cause problems, in my opinion. Even if you don't have to do that, once you have completed your adjustments in Photoshop that image has to be saved as a new image. The adjustments cannot be applied from Photoshop to the original raw image. That has never been the case.
In light of all the problems a lot of people seem to be having, I am steering clear of Lightroom 4, at least for the time being. I still get good results with Lightroom 3.6 and have full support for all my cameras. But it seems to me that it's going to take some coordinated effort from Adobe to get this Lightroom/ACR discrepancy resolved. Good luck to all of you. I'm just having a lot of fun with my Lightroom 3/Photoshop CS5 combination.

  • Error messages after alternate plug-ins directory chosen

After my initial install of the CS6 beta, which went quickly and flawlessly (I have learned to turn off my virus protection during install due to previous problems with installs of older versions of PS) I went to preferences and chose my CS5 plug-ins directory.
After that was done I got a series of 3 error messages which, after closing them, did NOT prevent CS6 from opening eventually.
I would like to know what I can do to get rid of those error messages.
I've posted screen grabs here:  <http://www.flickr.com/photos/isabel95/7009088577/in/photostream>  Click on "newer" to see the following two error messages.

    you should not do that.

    Plug-in Compatibility
    In general:
3rd Party plug-ins that are compatible in Photoshop CS5 should be compatible in Photoshop CS6
Adobe provided plug-ins, and additional plug-ins, for CS5 are not compatible in Photoshop CS6  Photoshop CS5 Optional Plug-Ins (Mac/Win)
    TWAIN plug-in | Photoshop CS4, CS5
    OpenEXR Alpha plug-in | Photoshop CS5 Extended
    Do:
Check the plug-in manufacturer's website for the latest version of your plug-in
Use the manufacturer's plug-in installer to install their plug-ins
    Don't:
Do not point Photoshop CS6's "Additional Plug-ins" preference (Preferences>Plug-Ins...) at a previous version of Photoshop's 'Plug-Ins' folder.
Do not manually drag plug-ins from a previous version of Photoshop's plug-ins folder to Photoshop CS6's 'Plug-Ins' folder

  • File not found - opening files from appXplorer

Quite strange this one. Bear in mind, I've just started my first JSP project. So if I get some terminology wrong, please be gentle. :)
OK; start up NitroX and open the three files I have (two in web/ one in pages/). index.jsp includes two of the other files (using <%@include/> directive)
All is well, it recognises that they are included and the top-level tag references and variables are available in the included pages.
When I edit and save any one of the pages, all the other pages loose thier references. Variables and tags become unresolved. If I then close the page and try and reopen it, I get an alert box with "The file file:/x:/webapps/root/cars/pages/config.jsp cannot be found".
Any changes I make and save are successful. Restarting NitroX fixes the problem, but it happens again as soon as I save the first time. X: is a network drive, but it's actually a network drive on my machine.
    Any suggestions? Configuration dump follows:

    Hi,
    Please clarify the following:
    * "X: is a network drive, but it's actually a network drive on my machine." - Is "X" a mapped drive to one of your shared folder on network?
    * What is the project directory structure with respect to WEB-INF/web.xml? Are you able to see the three pages (from web & pages folder) in NitroX Editor?
    * Does the modified content appear in "Design view" of index.jsp upon restarting NitroX?
    Ex:
    - modify one of the pages in "web" folder > save the file (alert appears)
    - restart NitroX, does index.jsp display the modified content of included page?
    * If possible please send the test case project which exhibits the behavior to [email protected]
    Thanks,
    M7 Support

  • Show AppXray dependencies does not work for all projects

I have three projects. One of them will display the appxray dependncies and the other two will not. When I select show dependencies, nothing happens. There is no logging inside the workshop m7.log.0 but the .log has the following. How do I get this to work?
    Config details follow logging.

  • BI 7.0: Source System upgrade from R/3 Enterprise to ECC 6.0

    Background:
I am relatively new to BW team and will be going through my 1st source system upgrade.
We currently have BI 7.0 SPS 17 connected to source system R/3 Enterprise EP1.
We are upgrading to the source system to ECC 6.0.
    In Development and QA Environments:
we will have access to both old (R/3 Enterpirse) and the new (ECC 6.0) source systems.
We have a opportunity to compare the BW Objects, data flow and data loading from
    both source systems.
In Production, however, we will just upgrade over 3 days downtime.
One Question that comes to mind in this regard...
What sort of things, we should be checking for before and after upgrade in Dev/QA and in Prod environments and what tools are available that can help the analysis and validation process ?
Some of the suggestions that were given to me include following points.
    Before Upgrade:
1 Check data, taking pre images of it for testing with post upgrade.
    2. Perform proper analysis of Source system related BW objects.
      - A complete listing of actively used Datasources,.. etc.
    3. Make delta queues empty,
Make sure that all existing deltas are loaded into BW.The last request delta must not deliver any data and must be green in the monitor.
    4. Stop Process chains from BI (remove from schedule) and collection runs from R/3 side
    After Upgrade:
1 After the OLTP upgrade, refer to note 458305 and other notes that are relevant to the actual upgrade
(depending on the R/3 system release / R/3 plug-in to BI plug-in compatibility).
    2. Check logical system connections. Transactions SMQS, RSMO and SM59, If no access, then we can use Program RSRFCPIN_NEW for RFC Test.
    3. Check and/or Activate control parameters for data transfer. SBIW ---> General Settings --->
Maintain Control Parameters for Data Transfer
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/51/85d6cf842825469a51b9a666442339/frameset.htm
    4. Check for Changes to extract structures in LBWE Customizing Cockpit
        - OSS Notes 328181, 396647, 380078 and 762951
    5. Check if all the required transfer structures are active. See OSS Note 324520 for mass activation.
    7. Check if all Source system related BW Objects are active - Transfer rules, Communication rules, update rules,DTPs,..etc.
Below is a link for some useful programs in this regard.
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/wiki?path=/pages/viewpage.action&pageid=35458
    6. Test all important datasources using RSA3 and check for OLTP Datasources changes .
As soon as BW notices that the time stamp at the DataSource in the OLTP is newer than the one in the transfer structure, it requests replication of the DataSource and activation of the transfer structure. Transfer the relevant DataSources only if required, and transfer only the ones that have changed (RSA5 -> Delta).
    7. Create Data flow objects (trnasfer rules, infopackages, trnasformations, DTPs) for the Replicate
    new/changed datasources,if needed.
    8. Check all CMOD enhancements.
If we are using a customer exit with the extractor in the OLTP, see Note 393492.
    7. Check for unicode (all custom programs or Function Modules for DataSources)
    5.  Check all the queues in RSA7, start delta runs and test data consistency.
For delta problems:In the BW system, start the 'RSSM_OLTP_INIT_DELTA_UPDATE' program for the DataSource and the source (OLTP) system for which the init selections are then transferred from BW into the ROOSPRMSC and ROOSPRMSF tables in the source system so that the delta can continue.
    9. Take back up of data posted during upgrade for contingency planing.
    10. Run the entire set of process chains once if possible and let it pick up no data or the usual master data.
Since we have lot of experts in this forum, who have probably gone through such scenario many times, i wanted to request you to Please Please advise if i have stated anything incorrectly or if i am missing additional steps, OSS Notes, important details...

Thanks Rav for your detailed post and very helpful contribution by posting all the information you had regarding the upgrade.
    We have similar scenario -
We are upgrading our source system from 4.7 to ECC 6.0. We have our BI system with BI 7.0 at support pack 19 (SAPKW70019).
Our strategy in ECC deployment  ->
In development we copied our old DEV 4.7 system DXX to new ECC system DXY (new system ID).
In production we are going to use same system PRXX upgraded from 4.7 to ECC.
Now we are in testing phase of ECC with all interfaces like BI in Dev.
    My questions are below ->
How can we change/transfer mapping of all our datasources in Dev BW system BID to new ECC dev system DXY (Eg. Logical system LOGDXY0040) from Old dev system DXX (Eg. Logical system LOGDXX0040). We donot want to create new datasources or change all transfer rules/Infosources for old BW3.x solutions on our BI.
Also in new ECC sourcesystem copy  we see all datasources in Red in RSA7 transaction. Do we need to initialize again all the datasources from our BW BID system.
Is there any easy way for above scenario ?
Please let me know if you have any further helpful information during your ECC 6.0 upgrade connecting to BI 7.0 system.
I have found some other links which have some pieces of information regarding the topic -
Upgrade R/3 4.6C to ECC 6.0 already in BI 7.0
